On the spot, Jim was able to repair an old sewing machine. Extremely knowledgeable, professional, kind, fast and so thorough! Made sure the rest of the machine was ready to run smoothly, not just fixing the jammed gear. Highly recommend!!

I recently visited Valley West Sewing to purchase a sewing machine. It was an incredibly informative,, low pressure, respectful environment! I had expected to look at several shops, but was absolutely confident in my choice and the service that I knew would stand behind my purchase!!

Ohmigosh, this company is amazing! I was working on finishing a quilt when my Janome suddenly started jamming. I thought I tried eveything: I changed the needle, removed the plate and cleaned out the bobbin area, everything I could think of, but it would just jam up as soon as I tried to sew.In desperation, I Googled sewing machine repair near me and Valley west Sewing came up first. I saw that they sell & service Janome machines, so I packed up mine and hit the road. In less than 5 minutes they figured out the problem and showed me several things that I can do to keep my machine in top condition. I walked out with my machine and a bottle of sewing machine oil and all it cost was the oil. They are kind and generous people who really know their stuff!I highly recommend Valley West Sewing.

I brought in my Singer 301 to be serviced. Unfortunately they were so busy, they would not have had time to service it for many weeks. They were, however, more than happy to give it a quick look while I waited! They were able to fix the issues I was having and get me back up and running!! Super nice people. Extremely good service. They really know their stuff. Highly recommend!

About 2 weeks ago I was gigging out because my sewing machine needed a tuneup & I didnt know where to go since JoAnnes no longer has anyone that does tuneups. My husband found Valley West & it is a fabulous business. Stellar customer service, quality, & integrity. They back up all they do, & go the extra mile to be sure you are satisfied. Special shout out to Brandi! My lesson I received from her was SO helpful. Yes, there is availability for lessons! Stellar company that I would HIGHLY recommend!

I brought my sewing machine in because the thread was bunching up on me and I could not figure out why - I expected to leave it there and not get back for a week or more - they looked at it and knew what to to do right away and fixed the problem - there was nick/burs on the feed plate that the thread was catching on - they filed it down and fixed the problem - I was in and out in 15 min - and it only cost me $10 - I will definitely be going back if I ever have any other problems - thanks for the great knowledgable customer service

Walk-in help with sewing projects/machine tweeks is so friendly. Bought my Jenome HD3000 machine here and am so happy with it. The added bonus of available machines that they sell allow for lessons without having to bring in your personal machine! Always knowledgeable and respectful. Im a lifer!

Valley West did a great job of tuning up my sewing machine. I like the way they carefully record exactly what machine you brought in and what accessories were with it to be assured you are getting back exactly what you brought in.I have used Valley West twice now and have been very happy. Id recommend Valley West.

The staff at Johnston’s always does a thorough and awesome job cleaning and maintaining my sewing machine. If you want it done right, bring it to these guys!

Would recommend to anyone that is having issues with their sewing machine. I brought my grandmothers sewing machine in yesterday and within 5 minutes he had it fixed. He even showed me how do it, if it happened again. Extremely professional, friendly service and will definitely go back to them in the future.

I have an old Bernina 1030, they will service the machine. I had a problem with the feed dogs. They looked the machine over and everything was fine. They were happy to help me. They are a genuine repair shop. Terrific customer service. I will go there again. I will shopping for a sewing machine in the future and I will go there to look at Janomes.

I was amazed how well this owner, was able to diagnose and fix my sewing machine. He was fair, kind, and waited on me pronto. A great shop that I will go to whenever my sewing machine needs some attention.

I took my wifes machine in for a tune up. I found the staff to be helpful, friendly, and courteous! The repair was done in a timely fashion, and at a fair price. I found the same friendly demeanor when I returned to pick up the machine. I also learned that they offer classes, open sewing times, and are making a real social network for folks that like to sew! If I had to say just ONE thing about my experience to sum it up, I would say that without a doubt I will be taking my future sewing and sewing machine needs to the fine folks at Valley West Sewing!!

Extremely helpful and nice people! Needed a bobbin case and was asked to bring in my machine when I came in. Not only did I get a fully adjusted bobbin case, but learned many new tips. All this as a drop in. They made sure I was a fully satisfied customer and then some. Definitely will have my business from now on!

Called them at the recommendation of another repair person who couldnt fix my problem. Technician I needed was on a two week vacation but the woman who took the call told me how to fix the problem myself. This was after months on various discussion boards, watching relevant videos on line, etc. without effective help. These people know their stuff!

Today I went to opening sewing with my janome and everyone there was so kind and helpful. The owner help me with my machine and gave me alot of tips for it .Great place to buy your machine.

This is a wonderful shop. I have purchased a horn cabinet from them at a reasonable price. I have also purchased 2 used sewing machines from him and they work beautifully. They do exactly what I wanted.This is a great place!!!!!

Dropped my machine off early/mid April, JUST got it back today after numerous calls. Was told work was done in house come to find out my machine had been sent to someone they contract too. After my expected date to have my machine back, I called every week for an update come to find out it’s “unfixable”. So I waited 7 weeks for nothing. I sew for pattern and fabric companies, so my machine is important to me. It was apparently back in the shop yesterday, and I received no call, I only found out when I called today to check on the status.When my fiancé went to pick it up, he said they kept trying to push a new machine on him and said how “garbage” my Janome was.I had high hopes for the shop after being so highly recommended, but in the future I will take my machine else where and recommend not using this shop.EDIT: I took my machine to a shop back home, they knew exactly what the problem was and said it was common on those machines made at that time. They were able to order the part, checked if it was under warranty, and get my machine back and running for under $60. Now I’m upset that I paid a $40 hold fee at Valley West for absolutely nothing 😡

I’m not sure what’s going on but I was supposed to receive missing parts to a machine I bought from here months ago. Have tried contacting them several times.

The belt on my OLD sewing machine broke, I spent an hour on the internet trying to find any information about where I could purchase a new belt, I couldnt find anything. I broke down and called Valley West Sewing, they said to bring in my machine. I brought it in and the owner dropped what he was doing and fished around his shop and found a belt, installed it and made sure my machine was running correctly. I bought 2 spools of thread, some sewing machine oil, and I had a working sewing machine....the charge was $20. I cannt say enough about this little gem of a shop!!! AWESOME

I had an issue with my machine that turned out to be operator error and they showed me what I was doing wrong, verified the machine worked correctly and did it all free of charge.

Overall awful experience. Save your time and dont bring your machine there. You wont see it for MONTHS.
