Here in the area for a tournament. They are super welcoming and friendly. On top ofThat there were great rounds a lot of competitors now the gym. If you’re in the area definitely stop in.
Im visiting from San Diego and wanted a place to train for the week until I got back on the road again. Corvo was close to where I was staying and wanted to give it a try.The training area is spacious and they have little tubs filled with a foot scrub and a disinfectant to help keep the mats free of things like ringworm. Ive never seen this sort of thing before but its simple and quick and helps keep everyone safe and healthy which is a huge plus and something I really appreciated about this place.Theres a lot of no-gi training here which is something you might not expect if you come from a more traditional school which is something to keep in mind. The training is very good and all the coaches are detailed oriented which is extremely helpful in a sport like this where little details can determine how you roll. The positional training is also something that was new, but still extremely helpful to me as it gave me a chance to work in areas Im not used to having practice in.Overall Id definitely train here if I were to move to Dallas. I like San Diego but this place definitely left a good impression on me.
Went in this morning at 6:30 AM. This was my first day to EVER practice BJJ. More importantly — it was my first day to practice ANY martial art as an adult. The people at Corvo Martial Arts were extremely welcoming and made it an incredibly fun experience. Professor Tony, the owner, was a very kind and respectable man. I was a bit late, however, Tony still gave me a warmup demonstration and allowed me to spar with Andrew, Enrique, and Jay. He obviously cares for his students and wants anyone who comes to get the full experience. To finish it off, there is a super legit veteran owned coffee shop that operates inside of the club. What a great place! I would highly recommend checking this club out.
Walking into Corvo feels like walking into a friends house. They feel like family. The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable. The instruction is fantastic. They are patient, and dedicated, and committed. They are also very knowledgeable, and have a breadth of experience to share. From youth classes to adults (weve done both), beginners to Black Belts, boys AND girls, men AND women. This is a clean and well maintained gym. You wont be disappointed.
Great gym, great people. If you are looking for something casual, or competitive they have both with a great welcoming environment. You won’t be disappointed for the price it’s a steal in my opinion. The schedule will accommodate those who only have time in the A.M or during lunch. With 7 days a week of training you won’t ever miss out! Come try it out!
Drop in for a class, everyone was super nice and welcoming. Professor Tony and David are great guys and there team reflects it. Recommend any one that lives near this school to go and check it out, you won’t be disappointed.
If you are looking for high quality jiu jitsu and great people, Corvo is the place to be. Everyone in the gym is super friendly and willing to help in any way possible. The instruction is top notch and the instructors love what they do.Overall I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Corvo to family and friends. Go see for yourself!
Dropped in for a noon training session, the team and coaches were very welcoming. World class instruction and amazing training overall!
A great environment to train and get some work in!
Super nice people at the gym with high level guys to train with that wont rip your arm off. Great schedule for morning, afternoon and evening classes. Highly recommend this gym
I was in Dallas last week and had the honor to train at Corvo. I loved the vibe here I was instantly welcomed in, taken care of, got some awesome rolls w some very high level people annnnd they serve some of the best coffee I’ve ever had haha 10/10 recommend and can’t wait to visit again. Thank you so much 🧡
This is truly world class Brazilian jujitsu. Excellent instruction a welcoming community and really a fun atmosphere. If you’re in the area this is a must for training if you’re visiting and drop in and they welcome you like family. Absolutely loved my time there!
Great facility with outstanding and friendly instruction from Tony and his crew. Great place to train!
I started back in June 2020 and have extremely appreciated the gym, the trainers, and learning Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for the first time in my life. Its also the first martial art Ive learned. The combination of learning, exercise, and challenge of the art has definitely helped me become a better person for 2020 and look forward to continue training in the years ahead. While they provide a trial period, I encourage anyone trying Jiu Jitsu to commit yourself for at least two months to see the progress in yourself and begin to get to know the community - all incredible people to learn from at all different levels.
My bf and I train and live out of San Diego. My mother lives in Dallas really close to Richardson where the gym is located. I don’t know the BJJ scene in Dallas as well, so I wasn’t sure if where to train or what might be open on the weekend. My bf hit up Tony and he invited us to their open mat on Saturday. Everyone in that gym gave the most wonderful energy and my bf and I had the best time. We met David and he welcomed us in like family. I have never been excited to be in Dallas bc I never knew where to train. Now, I know exactly where I’m going to train every time I’m in town. Thank you guys for the amazing experience and the great rolls, we’ll definitely be back for more.
I went for a open mat and got a bunch of good rolls, friendly vibes from everyone.
Great environment for learning. Laid back but still challenging, and everyone works together to help out any newcomers! Professors Tony and David are extremely knowledgeable and always have great plan for each class.
Corvo provides a family family atmosphere that welcomes everyone. From kids to adults youll know you belong. Tony and David are are amazingly technical Professors who are detail oriented. Whether you want to learn self defense, lose weight or be a competitor; Corvo is great for everyone.
I came in from out of town and everyone was friendly and great training partners.
Tony, the owner of the gym invited me out to experience what Corvo is all about and I wasnt disappointed. His knowledge of the martial arts and the combination of discipline he has instilled into his students made for a unique and challenging experience that I fell in love with. His coaching made it easy to follow what to do for it being my first time rolling.5 minutes into warming up and I knew this was real deal!Ill definitely be back!
Amazing place to learn Jiu Jitsu. All the coaches are extremely knowledgeable, kind, and have a great way of teaching Jiu Jitsu. They make it really easy to learn and apply the techniques. The facility itself is super clean, which is so important in a Jiu Jitsu school. Lastly, the community is very cool, welcoming, and supportive. Overall, a great place to train. Highly recommended.
Had the opportunity to take a no-gi class with Professor Tony & would highly recommend this gym to anyone in the Dallas/FT Worth Area....Extremely professional as well as welcoming if youre unsure about joining jiu jitsu for the first time or are a seasoned vet this is the place you should try!!!!
I was in town from Waco and looking for a place to train and decided to try Corvo after reading some great reviews about the atmosphere. I was not disappointed, very welcoming. I’m a physician and train 4-5 times a week, but don’t compete and want to train in a safe environment without egos. Wide range of skill. People training for competition of all belt colors as well as people just starting BJJ. Great instruction, very welcoming, safe....all around great time on the mats. I will definitely train here again. I would highly recommend.
I dont think I can say enough good things about this place and the people. Professor Tony is amazing with the kids and a very strong role model for all of them. All the coaches care so much, they love teaching the kids, and it shows. My 8yo has been at it for almost a year and as an ADHD kid it has really given him a new sense of confidence. We love this place! We love these people! We love this tribe!
Great place to visit and train!! Great coaches and very welcoming.
Corvo has top-notch instruction in both Youth and Adult classes. The staff is friendly and always available to help. All of that in a family friendly environment. Harder to pull off then you would think! I highly recommend checking them out: you will not be sorry!
Great Gym!Clean mats! Nice changing room with showers.World class instruction and everybody is super welcoming!Would highly recommend for anyone in the area!
Corvo martial arts is the best martial arts academy Ive trained at. Since I first started training there Tony and David have done nothing but be helpful supporting and encouraging my goals. Not only is their coaching and instruction world class but both of them will go out of their way in any means necessary to help you whether its at a tournament, on the mat or needing some daily encouragement in life. The atmosphere as a whole is amazing. A lot of humble and kind students that will make you feel welcome the moment you walk through the door.If you are interested in training wait no longer, come be a part of the family.
Corvo has excellent instructors and the school is full of people willing to help with the process. I highly recommend.
I was in town for work and stopped through here to get some training in. Everyone was welcoming and the instruction was top notch. Weather you live in the area or are just visiting, I highly recommend checking them out!
This school is top notch! I have only been able to do a few trial classes, but it was a truly humbling and challenging experience. Can’t wait to get back and start learning from these killers!
If youre looking to join a gym that accepts you like family look no further. I cant even imagine training somewhere else and training here is like no other. Ill definitely be making my way to a world championship with this great group of dedicated people!
I have been training at Corvo Martial arts for just under 2 years! Corvo has people of all age and physical ability from Kids on up! Weather you want to compete or just have a fun way to get in shape. The instructors and team are very helpful to new people and welcome you to the family involvement of the gym. I would def suggest anyone interested to come and try it out!
Great gym. I was in town for work and they had very welcoming environment, great class, and tough rolls afterwards. Will definitely check it out again when I’m back in the area.
I was in town from Waco for a training and decided to stop in to train. It was great. All the guys introduced themselves instead of ignoring me, gave tips and training during practice and then said thanks for coming when I was leaving. Great place to train if your looking for one. Definitely stopping in again when Im in town.
Greatest place to train if you’re in the area! The instruction is second to none & the room is filled with great training partners! I will be back here to train when I find my self in town !
Good training. Nice people.
Tony and Dave are both very knowledgeable, great coaches. They have held titles in various divisions and tournaments. Its great working under these guys and learning more about my passion. My coach texts/calls every day and asks checks up on me. The even break down a healthy diet for me to get in better shape. I would recommend Corvo to anyone looking to make bjj a lifestyle.
I am relatively new to BJJ, this was an amazing place to train. From the instructors down to the training partners everyone was very knowledgeable and friendly. Being at my heaviest at 260 this was an amazing environment to expand my limited knowledge base but also start my journey back to being healthy and in shape.
Great gym to train at. Its a great vibe and they have a wide range of partners to roll with. David and Tony are awesome instructors which is what keeps me coming back.
I love this whole team. Tony and David are both welcoming and on the cutting edge of BJJ. They are always bringing what they learn to their classes and make it easy to understand and apply. The school is a great mix of high level competitors and hobbyists, yet Tony and David a very skilled in teaching everyone according to their goals and levels. I could not recommend them more!
Great atmosphere and great people. Truly a gift to martial arts!
Awesome + clean + safe place to train. Was in the area and far from my gym and wanted a few rolls to get a good work out. Tony and his students were very hospitable and treated me as part of the team. Had great detailed techniques and then had a blast putting in a few rolls. Would reccomend this place to anyone. Tonys legit! A major plus is they train leglocks and it is welcomed (of course only applied in a safe, responsible manner).
Ive been to a few different gyms over the years and Corvo is hands down the best in just about every category - they have amazing coaches, a great facility, and very good competition. If youre looking to learn and improve in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, this should be your first choice.
This is a great martial arts studio that has great ties to the community. Their team led by Tony T. was so generous in offering our large group of girls a free start self defense course this past weekend! A very friendly and well trained team located at a great location! Thanks so much! 5 out of 5 stars for sure
Visiting from Atlanta and wanting a workout while out of town on business, the Corvo team was extremely welcoming. Tonight’s No Gi class was safe, detailed and a lot of fun. No ego’s, the professors paid attention and were involved throughout the class which is more rare than you might imagine. I’m a white belt with 6 months in and Richardson, TX is lucky to have access to this school. Check them out!
The gym is packed with beasts who will give you some of the toughest rolls but you get, at the same time, the warmest welcome. Great people, great jiujitsu!
The environment at Corvo is extremely inviting to all levels of practitioners, including someone looking to take their first class. I am a Black Belt in BJJ and Ive seen every kind of gym environment. This was one of my favorite training experiences. Tony is a great coach and person. It shows in his students and the exchange of respect amongst everyone on the mats. I felt safe here. Best of all was the detail in the techniques we learned. I would suggest this place to anyone looking to train. Whether you want to learn something new, get in shape, learn how to protect yourself or become a world class competitor like the owner, you will find it here. I cant wait to go back!
Fantastic place to train. I was in town for business and was looking for a place to train. They welcomed me in with open arms. And the instruction and knowledge is outstanding.
Its a great place for our child to learn how to protect, discipline himself and to be respectful. From the facility to the staff, it’s a top-notch operation. You learn valuable skills while having fun. Tony Trammel is superb with our son and he looks forward coming to class
I have been training at Corvo for over a year now. I have been impressed with their childrens class. I sit on the bench and embrace how the children adapt to the instructions. Childrens minds tend to venture and lack focus. Not here. :) Children are excited to try out the new skill of the day. I am excited to see the next generation of black belts Corvo creates. I say this not as a parent but as student. The childrens classes rock!!! But my review would be incomplete if I didnt talk about my experience. I been training at Corvo for a year. So my 5 stars does not come after a few days training. Understand the instructors at Corvo are great for the experienced competitor or the casual guy. Their instructors are the type that compete in BJJ regularly, but they offer myself (full time worker) an organic experience that allows me to feel like I am getting better. This gym offers the family approach that most people look for. Thanks Corvo for making me a better person and martial artist!
My name is Jason Scoggins and I visited Corvo today for an open mat with my friend Rusty that trains there. I was welcomed by everyone and I didn’t remotely come close to feeling like an outsider. Ben and Tony were happy to answer my questions share great advice/tips after our rolls. Every person on the mat made it a point to come introduce themselves and say hello when they saw a new face. The facility was super clean and well put together. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a place to train to stop in a give them a try. You won’t be disappointed.
Good rolls good people
Generous and kind people here! Oh and dont forget, absolute savages on the mats. 5 star!
Ive had the pleasure of training with the Corvo team multiple times. They have a fantastic family oriented mentality. We work and train hard, we grow as both people and martial artists.Ive learned so many technical components as a martial artists from them and Ive always felt comfortable asking questions to help improve my game.If you want to be a world class athlete, you need to look no further for top quality training than here at Corvo.
I was invited to open mat after competing against one of their athletes at a local tournament by coach David. I was treated like family from the moment I walked in the doors. The mats were very clean and well maintained. I think I have found my new Jiu Jitsu family.
I tried a class and was very impressed with the Instructor and the martial art. It is very advantageous to know how to defend yourself when taken down to the ground by a stronger opponent. Highly recommend it. The instructor is patient and explains any technique he shows. Since most fights end on the ground statistically, any martial artist or an avid self defense fan should know how to defend themselves on the ground.
Highly professional and welcoming atmosphere. Whether you have several years of experience, or are new to Jiu Jitsu, Corvo is definitely worth your time.
Corvo is a fantastic place for training Martial Arts, it is a family atmosphere but very competitive on the mats. They have coaches that compete at the highest levels but welcome all skill sets from the hobbyist who wants to get in shape and learn self defense all the way to people that want to compete at the highest levels. I train as does my son and I recommend it for anyone who wants to train.
Great place. Everyone is amazingly helpful and Tony is great. This is the BJJ gym you want.
This is an amazing place! The instructors are awesome with the kids! I highly recommend Corvo Jiu-Jitsu!!
Tony and David (the one with hair) are as passionate and knowledgeable as they come. You cant go wrong with this school!
Great people and awesome rolls! Went here for an open mat and was welcomed with open arms. Everyone who wants to get some good training in should check it out!
Great experience. Awesome coaches. My four year old has an absolute BLAST. would recommend!
Eight months ago, I walked into Corvo looking to get back on the mats for the first time in years, maybe compete and see where it took me. I can say that after a short period of time, joining Corvo has been one of the best decisions I’ve made in my life. In addition to receiving world-class instruction on a daily basis in both gi and no-gi grappling, I’ve gained a brotherhood and joined a family consisting of some incredible people of integrity. Whether you want to eventually compete or just learn Jiu-Jitsu as a hobby, you’ll find few places in the Dallas area with instruction as quality and consistent as you will at Corvo.
I am currently training as a 4 stripe purple belt for Alliance in Escondido, CA. I was looking for a BJJ gym to take train at while on business travel in Dallas, Texas. I reached out to Corvo and inquired if I could come as a guest. Coach Tony Trammell quickly responded and welcomed me to their gym.The instruction was great. I learned a new way to pass spider guard and easily take my opponents back. The students were well taught, very welcoming, and respectful. I will be sure to come back and visit the next time I’m in town.Thank you coach Tony and team. You are all welcome at North County MMA and Ultimate Fitness in Escondido, if you make it out to San Diego.
Seriously an amazing Place to train!!!Highly talented staff to guide someone just starting their journey to the highest level of competitor. If your in the area stop by and train with Professor Tony and the rest of his great TEAM....
First time at their open mat today. Super nice and welcoming. Legit group of high level BJJ guys. Thanks for having me. I plan on coming back for sure!
Nice facility and great coaching. Ive been training Jiu Jitsu for about a year and half. I recently moved to Dallas and came across Corvo. The coaching is really good for all levels. Looking forward to getting to train here more in the future.
An amazing training facility. Top level instructors who truly have your best interest in my mind. They have an Awesome family atmosphere. I would highly recommend corvo martial arts for anyone trying to improve themselves, physically or mentally.
Great size kids class. Both of my children felt very welcomed. Top notch facility. Great instruction.
I was travelling last August and managed to catch a class during the daytime. Was welcomed with open arms and the level is super high here. If you’re in the area I’d 100% recommend training here!!
My son attends Corvo Martial Arts classes and when I’m able to speak with or see him, I can tell a marked difference in not only his fitness level, but his overall attitude, as well! I’ve taken the opportunity to ask him what the initiator is for all these great improvements & he’s very quick to mention that Corvo is one place that has done amazing things for his fitness, discipline and self worth levels. Thank you, Corvo Martial Arts...you’re outstanding! Krystel Bledsoe
My son loves Corvo! I highly recommend! Tony has done wonders for my sons confidence and self control! Thank you!
Corvo is a place that has professional trainers athletes providing great jiujitsu training from novice to pro! David Hulsey with the awesome man bun and big muscles at Corvo has helped me tremendously with my nogi game in just a short amount of time. I can’t wait to see what the future holds.
Tony and David run an amazing jiu jitsu school. After spending two years there, it’s hard to find another gym that instantly becomes like family. What they both teach is both practical and useful when learning about the “gentle” art. If you’re in the DFW metroplex, there’s no other gym to be a member of. If you’re just passing through for work and looking to do a drop-in, this is the place.
Best jiu-jitsu school Ive ever been too! I highly recommend this place!!!
Very welcoming atmosphere here. It was a pleasure to drop in and train with so many talented amazing people. I will definitely be back.
I found this gym while I was traveling for work and couldnt be happier to have found a gym that delivers everything you hope for. Good people, good instructors, good competition, good rolls, great Gym!!
Corvo is a great place to train! I love it because its affordable and I dont feel like Im sacrificing the quality of my training for the price. As a young woman in BJJ I appreciate how Coach Tony, Coach Brandon, and Professor Araujo dont expect any less of me. I dont feel any less of the team because I am female. The whole team works together to encourage and push each other to reach their max potential. Everyone is so supportive on and off the mats. It truly is a family here and I couldnt see myself training anywhere else.
As a newb I felt welcome, but they dont treat you like a softie. I was sweating buckets at the end, and breathing heavy for 20 minutes afterwards. This BJJ studio is great because they do rolling at the end of every single training (to my knowledge).
We have had an amazing experience here. The coaches have been incredible and the other students were very welcoming.
Absolutely love this gym and the coaches! Not only have I gained a new self confidence but I have exceeded my fitness goals and have created lasting friendships.
Very positive atmosphere. Excellent training partners. Definently suggest checking this gym out if youre in the Area. Ill definitely be back.
Amazing place to train
Best place for training for adults and children. Lots of classes spread out over the week. Great teachers
My son enjoyed the Karate class and the instructor Miss. Daisy was very good at handling him and instructing him. I would recommend to give it a try.
Life changing experience ! My Coaches David and Tony are ONE OF A KIND !!! So much knowledge makes classes addictive, not to mention getting into some really good shape too .
I love this gym! This gym provides great training and awesome training partners who will push you to the next level.
Excellent academy with high quality instruction and a friendly, relaxed vibe that will make even the newest student feel welcome. Highly recommend, best training in Richardson, guaranteed.
Great seminars and fantastic instructors teaching the newest, cutting edge of jiu jitsu. Coach Tony and his wife are amazing at making people feel at home, and their team is full of amazing athletes.
Great gym! Great instructor! Coach Tony is by far one of the most patient and detailed instructors out there! My son and I both feel safe in this training environment, and we both enjoy the family-friendly atmosphere as well. I would highly recommend this gym if you are looking for a jiu jitsu gym to train at!
Always welcoming. Great group of folks. No cliques. Mats and shower are always clean.
Great school nestled in the heart of Richardson. Fantastic no gi and gi instruction. Come train!
Great gym, supportive and respectful members, do plan on visiting again.
Great people great environment, a place you always feel welcomed. A place that makes you love the Jiujitsu experience!!!
I was recommended to check out the school by a brown belt friend. I visited as a blue belt and very much enjoyed everything about the school. I like the style of jiu jitsu, the gi and no gi training, and the laid back but still serious attitude of the gym.I would highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in learning jiu jitsu whether they are a beginner or a more advanced practitioner looking to learn the latest in leglocks or training to be a high level competitor.
