As a transfer student that has to use JSOMs outdated system to sign up for classes, I have to get approval from my advisors for nearly every class I sign up for in order to take it. Advisors take several days to respond so this makes it impossible to actually get the classes I need to take. As an upcoming senior this is very concerning as a I cannot afford to take an extra semester to graduate nor would I want to when I am so close to finishing. Students that pay nearly $7000 a year should not have to struggle this much to get an appointment(regardless if it is the busy season for advisors or not). I also should not have to deal with being condescended on the phone when expressing these valid concerns. Us students are adults, not children. Our money and time needs to be taken seriously. Please UTD update your systems and figure out a better way for your students to see their advisors. The advisors themselves are typically wonderful to speak with.

Since covid has affected my schooling, I have not been able to contact any advisor other than through email. It take 3-4 days for them to respond and when they do they are vague and give out the wrong information.

Worst advising office in Texas. No communication whatsoever. They will make you jump through hoop after hoop, and give you wrong info. Record every email and make them sign notes on every meeting if you want to graduate on time.

Unreasonable decisions, they dont reply quickly to emails, they dont answer phone calls nothing.... Totally not professional

I have been at UTD for nearly 4 semester, and I can say advising have been one of the busiest entity in JSOM (Business school). I think their hard work and dedication to students often go unnoticed and I want to thank them for all their hours of devoted service. Devoted service that often goes unnoticed or unappreciated, today I want to say Thank you to the Advising department and their effort to provide fast, effective, and quality services to all the students. We appreciate it.I personally want to thank Mark Yeh and Glenn Hall for their patience and willingness to work with me at times where I was confused and clueless.Not all Heroes wear caps nor get recognition.THANK YOU!

These guys never pick up the phones and they can be aquite rude at times.
