Been coming here for the last few years; Steven always gives me a clean cut. The vibe is cool and the barbers are friendly. I like that the scheduling is done online and only a week out. Also has the option to get on a wait list if your date is full. Theyre cash only, but have an atm in the shop if you forget.

Pat and the guys that work at the shop are all top notch. Quality cut and beard trim that didnt take an hour for a fair price. Cold beers in the fridge, skateboards and hockey photos on the wall, and good barbershop banter if youre feeling friendly. Would recommend to any dude.

Excellent as always got my 2 boys haircut only downside is its cash only with appointment 🙄 but we get to pick who cuts there hair we always go with the same barber his name is Jesse hes top notch and funny good price great customer service for sure

I’ve been here three times. I’ve seen Jeromy twice and he’s great. First time I saw Jeromy, I mentioned I was on my way to a date and then accidentally left my laptop at the shop. He tracked me down and hand delivered my laptop during my date. And she said she loved the cut. A+ service. Second time, I showed him a picture of Chris Hemsworth’s hair and asked for something like that. I look nothing like the God of Thunder, but the hair is great!

Didnt get exactly what I wanted but my barber worked with me and kept at it until I ended with something I was content with (asked for two inches to be left on top and left with 1 inch on top. I verified with a tape measure at home). Great atmosphere, friendly barbers, and excellent customer service.

You gotta be crazy to not go here. Appointments make it easy to get in. Prices are insane for the quality, feels like Im robbing them when I pay. Pat is the man. Ive still got a mug only a mother could love but at least the hair looks good!

Recently moved to Reno and was looking for a good shop to check out. Maxwell had some great reviews and looked at the barbers bios. Saw that Steve. Was prior Navy (prior Navy myself) and immediately booked a app. The shop is awesome inside. Has that old school feel but with lots of eye candy all around. Was digging the Star Wars stuff. Steven hit the mark with the haircut. One of the best Ive had in months ! Glad I found out some real legit talent at cutting hair. Permanent spot from now on.

Staff here are good people. Prices are good. The system to get in and out is simple. They do good work. They do my hair and beard -- and its hard to find someone to not mess up your beard.

Two hour wait and a line of customers, I put my name down and left, thinking they must be doing something right to be that busy on a weekday. Two hours later I happened to be in the area so I dropped in and luckily was the next on the list. I got a good haircut, fast, decent price, only one star missing for wait. I would come back every month if I could take an appointment but they seem busy enough to not need my business. Thumbs up from me.

Got my do done by Steven as a walk-in on a Saturday morning. I was lucky to be the second person in line considering that I didnt get there until about 11 am. The line got pretty long about 30 minutes later, about 20 guys.Steven took his time and did a great job. I never felt rushed or ignored and the conversation was great. Maxwells and Steven will be my go-to barber from now on. Definitely worth the drive from Gardnerville.

Used to love these guys but something changed.. they denied service to me because i missed an appointment. even offering to pay for the the missed appointment they didnt want my business.

WOW! Just wow, this Barbershop is hands down the best in Reno. The staff are friendly and very knowledgeable and know exactly what there are doing. Im very pleased to have come to Maxwells Barbershop. Sure, you might have to wait for a bit on the walk-in days, but its well worth the wait.

Great place to get a real haircut from a barber. 25 bucks for a haircut but its the best in town. They now tale reservations which only elevates their service.

The only one problem with this place is a deal-breaker, they treat some people differently. I was waiting on a Saturday four two hours, waiting my turn and Patrick, the guy in the first chair, put one of his friends in front of me. Another time, I came late, one minute past the ten minute mark, and he said he could not cut me. Despite the fact my cut takes 14-16 minutes and the fact that he did not even start the next persons hair cut yet. I have been there over 20 times, I work with hundreds of people, and understand people have bad days or maybe because some people are more outgoing than others, or just naturally some people feel more comfortable with other people... I get it. The thing is, everyone deserves the same level of respect and thank you. By brother on-law goes there now, my co workers go there, and we all talk about our experience their..... They have never received any of the treatment I received. So, after going there twice a month for several months, and the small communication I do get form this shop, and the completely different experience the people I do life with, it was evident I am not treated with the same level of respect and customer service, so I went in a different direction (I stop going there.) Honestly, for many of you, this may not be your experience, it was evident I made him uncomfortable at some level and in a strange way he felt empowered by telling me something such as you have to respect other peoples time. When other people came late, and we ALL came late for more times than not the same reason... parking. I had to park three blocks away. It would have been morally OK to not take me as a customer for coming late if he did not take other customers who have come late. It would not be strange for him not to say thank you to me if he did not say thank you to other customers. And when Patrick put his friend in-front of me (after I was waiting my turn in a two hour line) that was just wrong, that was just disrespectful, but I did not even say anything because for one it would not look right (very big black guy very small white guy) and for two, when I brought up being only one minute late (past 10 minutes) basically he was the victim and could not help me. So I knew better to not say anything. What I hope I have said here is, there are very good cuts here for all people, yet all people may be treated differently for whatever reason. Even-more louder than that, I hope people hear me saying no person should be treated differently than the next person. Every person, every customer is important, we should all be treated with the same level of respect.

Im from Chicago getting ready to head for a night at the casino and I needed to get a good shave with my goatee. Nothing is better then straight blade and thats what these guys do and it is well worth it. I definitely recommend all outsiders to go whether its for a shave or a haircut

Very relaxed atmosphere and amazing haircut. Walk-ins are on Fridays and you wont wait long. The barbers are really friendly and have great customer service.

Realy friendly guys straght foward and the hair cuts are top noch it is kinda expensive and you do have to have a reservation but you do get what you pay for and theres no more 2-3 hour wait like there was before the appointment system

Moving on somewhere else....3rd time Ive visited this establishment and not gotten the haircut that I wanted. Ive been coming here for years I guess I was just hoping that the next time I would get a decent haircut. But...you can clearly see a hard line left behind on my side. My right side has the fade lower than my left, doesnt look right. Ive always liked this place, but for some reason Steven has lost his touch. I assumed that by booking an appointment I would get the quality haircut that Im paying for. No Im not talking bad about the place, its just that its frustrating when you dont get the haircut that you asked for...Thanks for the cool conversations and great atmosphere...

Had to wait a little while but Im used to that, real barbers dont rush on a cut. They take their time stop talk crap to one another, etc. thats the atmosphere of a true barbershop. Overall the cut was dope, Im from Detroit and took a leap of faith on a barber out here and he beat my expectations... So other than a little wait time great shop cool guys

Any of these bad reviews are from pretentious dousch nozzles,all three of these dudes are fade masters,its worth the money just to hang out and talk hardcore/art and sports with these dudes,best barber shop,soild dudes.

Long wait time, but wasnt in a rush anyway. Quality cuts, great conversation, and since I was visiting on Navy orders, I got great recommendations on things to do in town. Highly recommend this shop. BTW the guy who is a big Lakers fan cut my hair. Second to last seat!

Pat cut my hair today. Yes, you do have to wait. I called ahead and they told me no reservations, so I planned accordingly. Great cut, great chat and a great price.

I have yet to receive a bad haircut. They have long lines at times but the wait is worth it. Their hands are skilled and knowledge seems to be rather vast. They specialize in old style hair cuts, beards and straight razor shaves.

The place has Barber shop prices. The dudes can cut hair and do a decent job. However, the wait line is always jacked. You have to keep track of who walks in and you end up finding confusion at every end of the spectrum. Other than the sorry wait line, the place is a great atmosphere for the younger man.

No appointment taking so you’ll wait 40+ mins every time. The haircuts are mediocre at best. The barbers are slow and take breaks whenever they want so it’s very unprofessional overall.

For losers only! They refused to take a reservation on the phone and they only had walk in. I took a taxi to get there and was told on arrival that it was going to be an hour and a half wait! Went next door and had lunch with two pretty girls while I waited for my cab to take me back. Winners have better things to do with their time then wait for a barber who refuses to to take reservations! Is that yours really no respect for their customers time and obviously no respect for their customers! They cut hair for their ego not yours!

Pat gives a great cut and does exactly what you ask him to do.

Dont know how to take directions.Told him to do a mid fade and cut 1/2 an inch off the top. He brought the fade up WAY too high and it wasnt even a good fade. he then cut all the hair off the top to where there was only an inch left of hair left on top * I previously had 4-6 inches of hair on top*.
