As soon as you walk in, you are transported to a beautiful place. I felt like I was on vacation. The exfoliating pedicure is worth every penny, the foot and leg massage part were amazing. My manicure was great too. I am already looking forward to my next visit!

Absolutely loved getting nails done here. Jenny does a great job of cleaning your cuticles and nail bed so that your manicure lasts for weeks! Im going strong on 3 weeks with a gel manicure. I workout in boxing classes at UFC gym, Ive done car maintenance (in 9mm gloves of course), and I just moved into a new place with my boyfriend this past weekend (meaning moving packages, furniture, boxes, cleaning kitchens, carpets, sofas, floors, bathrooms, and they still look good!) Great job! Will be back very soon!

For Mother’s Day, my son in law booked manicures and pedicures for me and my 3 daughters (one of which is his wife). It was such a nice surprise and Retreat Salon was able to accommodate all of us perfect. They know what they are doing and the atmosphere was so relaxing and clean. I recommend asking for Jessica, but we had 5-6 people working on us and they are all great! Thank you for a wonderful Mother’s Day.We have found our new Salon!!

The service was good. Though Ill only give it two stars as my experience was ruined when paying.Im not from the US and therefore not used to the american tipping culture. So as I was leaving after paying the lady almost shouted through the salon youre really not gonna tip him? In a very unpleasant way.I didnt realise you had to tip at salons, and even if Im at the wrong here Im very confident that there could have been another way of asking for the tip that would have left me feeling less embarrassed about everything.

I looked this place up prior to making the trip and saw that it had good reviews and a nice environment. I decided to take my niece her for our special day, since we share the same birthday. I hoping we would sit together and have a relaxing experience. She was sat very far away (which isn’t why I’m giving them a bad review but just didn’t make the experience as fun) there was also one girl helping us both so we were both waiting a long time to each be helped and she was rushing. She didn’t even give us massages. I asked her about a massage and she said that would be extra. She also charged extra to remove my gel when I was getting gel again. In every nail place I’ve gone to prior they include a free massage and gel removal with purchase. It was extremely pricey and horrible service. I would never go here again (I’m not the type to usually leave reviews, but I’m this case I wish I would of know what I was getting into).

I have been going here for a couple of months and have been very happy with the results. My significant other and I were looking for a place that was reasonably priced and did a quality job. We are now regulars here! Jenny is so friendly, helpful and gives great recommendations for nail care. Jessica does thorough pedicures and they both do immaculate work. I do not usually do reviews, but we go here so regularly that I absolutely had to. I will also say that my mani/pedis last the longest here than at any other salon I have been to.

Ive been going to this place for three years for pedicures and its been hands down the best and longest lasting pedicures Ive ever had. Jenny and her team are super detailed and make sure everything from the trimming to polishing is exactly as the customer wants.

I will preface by saying the pedicure was lovely. The woman who did it, did a lovely job.. but pedicures arent hard and the luxury of the experience wasnt the best Ive ever had.But the women that is the owner who did my nails did a horrible job. I was told to come back in 3 weeks, and my nails look horrible after a week. I paid almost $200 for a mani/pedi for sub par quality. The owner spent her time being passive aggressive to me and expressing her political beliefs. I dont care what you believe in, but I come to a salon to relax.She was also operating when it was illegal to do so under covid restrictions.I understand wanting to make your money, but there was a guy not even wearing a mask in the shop.I will not be going back. There are better skilled professionals in this area.Dont waste your time.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE Retreat Nail Spa. Ive been a loyal customer for 4 years. Its by far the cleanest salon Ive been to that also does high quality work. Jenny is passionate and meticulous to make you happy with your color, nail shape and overall look (she can be very intense but means well). She suggests colors and is constantly checking in with all technicians for quality care. Their color selection is modern and with new polishes. They dont rush you and always try to find a time that works well with you. Its a family run business and Ive gotten to know them over the years, they are a lovely family. 10/10 would recommend this place as a nail destination. I’ve always had a great experience here. Jenny is always very accommodating and pleasant to interact with. They pay attention to detail and always make sure you’re happy before leaving. I’ve brought visiting family members in for manicures and pedicures and everyone has always had a great time. It is clean. It’s never crazy busy but it helps to call ahead and make an appointment. This is a safe space for LGBTQ+ people.

This place is a gem in Redwood City. I came months back and had a great experience, then for some reason completely forgot about it! Came back a second time and had another great experience. If you want a long lasting gel manicure, this is the place to go. Jenny is very detail oriented. At other salons I’ve never had a gel manicure last beyond 10 days, and when I see Jenny, my manicure looks good beyond 3 weeks. I never thought I could grow my nails out to this length but after coming here regularly they do, and they look great!

I’ve been coming here for five years. Jenny gives amazing service and good work, she is professional and the salon is beautiful and clean, it might cost you a little $$ but it’s totally worth it. They don’t do express or color change! Because it doesn’t last. Treat yourself!

I came for a polish change and was denied service and was told I will be charged full even if I don’t get a manicure. They also tried to (speaking in another language) have me get a gel color rather than regular (to charge me extra) and I kept saying I want regular color. I left and they had already started removing the color off of one hand so they had me leave with the other hand completely painted!!!

I wanted a tricky neon color applied to my nails. Tricky because the color itself was very transparent and needed an under coat, which could make it quite thick if done wrong. Every other place I went, the gel started peeling after a week. This place? Still looks great on week 2. Not a chip or scratch. Will be back for sure.

Jen, Armando & Her staff has always been so wonderful with each visit me and my girlfriend partake. Me and my girlfriend unfortunately never make appointments (apologies) because we have such a hectic schedule. But that doesn’t stop Jen, Armando & her staff to always takes us in. I love this salon, the attention to detail and actual nail care is important to me, I have had pedicures last for many weeks even in summer! They remember us every time we come in if it’s been a few weeks or months. Clean, careful, and beautiful work. If you just want to get polish and go that is fine, but this is foot care at its finest. Retreat Salon is one of the best nail salon in Redwood City. Me and my wife had try many different nail salon all over the bay area. But Retreat is one of our favorite place. We usually get a Deluxe pedicure it is well worth it. I love the hot stone massage. They always take their time and very thorough when they do the pedicure. They are very fast and efficient. I like the way how they clean under my nails. The place its very beautiful and clean. I really enjoy getting my pedicure and still be able to watch the game.

I decided to join my girlfriend and try a hair cut while she got her nails done, and I can see why she keeps coming back. We were immediately greeted and taken care of. The person who cut my hair was very detail oriented and was able to take my direction and give me exact cut I was looking for. This place is great! Super adorable and decorated beautifully! I had the best pedicure here from both David and Jenny. Jenny prepared everything and applied the polish, but David did the bulk of the pedicure and gave an AMAZING foot and calve massage! I got the deluxe pedicure and it was the Best!! My feet felt so invigorated afterwards. They were super professional and welcoming. I felt like a Queen for a day! The massage was awesome, strong, and lasted a long time. They take their time and dont rush you. It was a great experience all the way around! Probably my favorite place for a pedicure, ever. Jenny applied the polish and suggested something new. I almost always get rhinestones applied to the bottom on the big toes but Jenny suggested an hombre (lol, an hombre for toes - love it!) So we did and it looks great, with no chance of rhinestones falling off, like they tend to do! Its been almost two weeks and the pedicure looks as fresh as the day it was done! I was very impressed with their professionalism...not even a hint of annoyance or apathy towards their clients, which quite frankly is very rare these days.

I wandered by the location a few times, and on one sunny and warm fall day, I stumbled in through the front door. The inside looks like a very classy and polished place. I was greeted and asked if I had an appointment. I didnt have an appointment, but I had a smile on my mug. The outside looks so undercover. Its best to walk to this location, and enjoy the ambiance that permeates the area. There are plenty of restaurants that add color to the neighborhood. Once inside, it looked like a palace.1. The place is good sized, not small and cramped like so many other places. 2, look up, down and side to side. Each glance reveals a touch of class. 3. The staff are here to make sure my visit was personable. I had a short wait for Nancy, but was offered a tea, even though the nail technician, Jenny, was busy with a client, I was made to feel at ease, and appreciated. The rest of the treatment, shampoo and hair cut, came out very well. Nancy offered some suggestion, but most importantly, listened to what I wanted, confirmed with me, and did her magic. I think this will be a regular stop for me

This year we went with a frozen themed nails because my flight to NYC got cancelled due to the blizzard. My friend got foot massage and said it was the best ever. She highly recommends Jennys husband. My nails are gorgeous! Last year Jenny picked out this awesome bronze color with a pink/silver glitter overlay. They just look so fabulous and so trendy. Way better and way cheaper than Manhattan. The service at this place is great. Its family owned and run and they really look after their customers. I wish I was able to go more frequently, I would use all their services. Also, the décor is beautiful, relaxing and chic and I really like the artwork in the bathroom as corny as that sounds. I really cant say enough good things about this establishment

Best haircuts! Nancy is amazing. She saved my hair after a horrible haircut somewhere else, and now Im a regular. Price is great -- was surprised it was so low because of the high quality. The place looks very nice, and has a relaxing feel. They offer you tea. Everyone who works there is nice. They even have a cute little resident dog!

I’ve been here twice now and have had a great experience both times. My first gel manicure lasted for almost 4 weeks, with no chips or peeling. I came back in to have it removed only because it had grown out so much. I had a nourishing clear coat and manicure done on my second visit. The shape of my nails is perfect. I will definitely be coming back!

Met both Jenny and Armando over a year ago and I couldnt be more happy with their services. They truly know how to captivate what it means to provide a retreat spa. Their shop is definitely a cut above the majority of hair salons around the bay area. When you go into the salon you truly feel as if you arent in the bay. You feel as if youre in a 5 star Resort getting pampered for the fraction of the cost. Definitely going to keep doing business here. It was a relaxing and professional atmosphere. The manicurist and pedicurist did an excellent job and took their time and I never felt rushed. I enjoyed being pampered and they sure know how to make their customers feel at home. The pedicurist gave me an excellent foot massage and I was very happy to received such excelllent service. I will 100% recommend this place to friends and family. I will be coming back shortly with a smile on my face.

I have been coming here for four months and had a great experience each time. Jenny always asks how I want my hairstyle to be like and does an amazing job on it. Shes really thoughtful compared to other hairdressers that Id gone to. I have a fine hair that I seldom found a hairdresser that able to make a good style out of it, but Jenny does a pretty amazing job. Shes more like an artist and she loves what she does. She told me a month before that it is time for my hair to get a new style. And she said shell think carefully about it before the following month. A month later I came back, and she gave me an incredible new look. My first time coming to Retreat Salon is to cut off my old dyed hair. Beside of doing my request, Jenny shared some tips on how to take a good care of my hair. She answered every question in a friendly manner. I keep coming back since that first experience in the salon. She does every service perfectly and keep delivering a great outcome. Every time I come to this salon I feel like having a personalized service because most of the time Jenny remember my hair condition. The place is beautiful, smells nice, and has a comforting ambiance. In short, Im totally satisfied with Retreat Salon. The fare for each service is less than other salons, but the service is much better. Theres a cute little dog in the salon too, I find it relaxing and feels like home.

The owner of Retreat took care of me and was charismatic and had me laughing the whole time. You could tell she was a perfectionist as she had another gal finish my fiancee because her toes werent perfect. I used to go here for years, but my last 2 visits were not good. The owner is so rude to her employees and customers. Also, I got a gel mani and a gel pedi for my wedding it looked nice for about 3 days and then started chipping and peeling almost immediately. Gel usually lasts about 3 weeks and this didnt even last one. Ive since stopped going here.

The overall place looked really nice, but one day after getting my gel nails done they started peeling... also the person who did my nails filed them down so hard they started buring (and now they are like crazy thin). The people were really nice, but they could do a better job for the prices they charge.

Love coming to retreat nail salon! The staff does an amazing job are always very sweet. I’ve come for mani pedis, but almost always for pedi’s.They scrub and tidy up my toes. I suggest wearing shorts as they give your whole calf and toe a scrub type of message.Very gentle and attentive to cutting nails and if you have ingrown nails they are great at removing them.Nail polish job is also flawless. Many nail polish colors available.All in all a great experience and recommend everyone come here.

I came here for the first time for a gel manicure since its by my work, and Jenny did a fantastic job. She suggested a color for me based on the shades I kept going back to (light pink) and it was perfect. She also walked me through the different gel polish brands they use (gellish first color layer, DND second color layer) to make them last longer. She also put a total of 3-4 color coats and 2 clear top coats, whereas most places only do 2 color coats and 1 top coat. Overall Im very happy with how they turned out and hoping theyll last a long time.

So my wife convinced me to get a Pedi and to also try this place for a Luxury Feet Massage while getting a Pedi. As my first experience, it was great! Retreat Salon is exactly where I go now when I need a place to retreat to and makes me feel brand new. I see the other reviews about their prices but I actually think this is all about you get what you pay for. Sure, I could go down to the nail shop down the street and get my nails done for cheap if I dont mind catching fungus or inhaling the fumes for over an hour and a half while I worry if the tub Im sitting in is going to electrocute me because its leaking.... Sure I could go there but I dont. I go to Retreat Salon because I want a perfect experience, want to be pampered especially when I am stressed, and I want top notch customer service. I go because I know the owner has set a high bar for cleanliness, service, experience, and quality. At Retreat Ive had my mani, pedi, shellac, makeup, and shoulder massage. The makeup line they sell there is very good quality. The foundation is my favorite . Ive had a hair consultation and plan on having my hair colored too. The last two times I went in, I was so stressed and Jenny immediately took care of me to make sure I relaxed. They are great. I love looking at my nails weeks later and the shellac looks like new, that is because I got what I paid for.

The best mani/pedi Ive ever received on the peninsula!! All of the nail technicians are wonderful and have a tremendous amount of attention to detail. I have never felt rushed even if they are extremely busy. Each client is important to them so they always take their time on your nails. They make sure everything is perfect and you are happy with your service before you leave the salon. The salon is very clean and very inviting and relaxing. I always immediately feel welcomed when walking in. After they seat you, you are offered tea and water which is the cherry on top to the experience.
