I bought a Rick high gain bass pickup from the shop over 18 months ago. I live in Australia so the staff had to go to a bit of trouble to arrange the shipping (via ebay) and I thank them for that. When I eventually decided to put the pickup in, I found the screws didnt fit. After taking it to a reputable guitar repairer, he found that the threads hadnt been cut into the pickup housing so theres no way I could fit it to my bass. Ive emailed them about five times without any response...

BUYER BEWARE!!! I received a guitar with a cracked headstock from this store. Bought through Reverb.com and when I messaged the store with photos of the damaged guitar just 5 days after receiving it, they accused me of damaging the guitar myself and said that I took too long to notify them (Even though their own website says that you have 10 days to contact them if you are not satisfied with your item). The person that was communicating with me through Reverb was extremely rude and offered no attempt at any resolution. I hate writing bad reviews but this place is horrible with the worst customer service imaginable.

Amazing customer service, good selection. It was a nice experience and it felt good to support a local store. I got a awesome limited edition Fender strat with free first time setup (was told at the nearby box store that setups for a new guitar was extra). Best buying experience I have had in a while.

Walked in there interested in trying out a few electric guitars. I picked up one and started playing and the employee was rude to me. He said we dont do that here. I left and will never come back.

They were helpful to a violin nookie like me. I was worry at first cause I dont know how to look for a good violin, but I trust them. They let me keep 2 violins (I was considering to choose one) for 1 week, which is super nice. My violin teacher will help me to choose the one that suits me the best.

My brother and I found the store by accident while visiting San Francisco. The staff was kind giving us freedom to try the instruments, explore the store and its stuff, and was very helpful to my brother giving advice about keyboards and stuff.

I was looking for this other used DVD store in the Haight, but I guess they closed their doors so we ended up here just walking by. They have tons of DVDs, though some of the pricing was odd. They had better deals with box series. They have both new and used so you have to pay attention to what youre getting. I like the way they organized the movies in categories and also had a series and BBC section.

The clerk was great, but. .. .I went to buy strings from an independent music shop. I avoid the giants like guitar center. Ive bought all of my instruments and I play from independent shops, bit these guys try to rip you off. They wanted $25.99 for the strings so I told them Id go somewhere else and the price dropped to $17 as though by magic. Another (possibly the owner) walked behind the clerk that was helping me and told me they were really expensive strings and implied I didnt know what I was talking about. This is my second horrible experience with them. I wanted to buy bass strings and the guy that runs the place told me he would have to charge me for a set up as well and told me that if I knew what I was talking about I wouldnt change my own strings. What? Ive been playing the bass for 14 years. What an ass. In any case this is a tourist trap try Noe Valley Music instead.

I bought a bass about 2 weeks ago. They were very helpful, allowed me all the time I needed to play around and make a decision, then carefully removed stickers and cleaned it up nicely before handing it over. Ill go back here when Im ready to buy a new amp.

Went in today for some strings and saw and heard a short bald man with a thick accent (manager/owner) absolutely rip into and berate a young employee in front of other customers like we went back to the days of slavery. It was incredibly unprofessional and a turn off. I left and wouldnt give a business that runs like that my money.

Last time I was here they were going out of business. I tried to make them a deal on a box of records they had. Needless to say they would not budge and they kind if overcharged me on the value of these records.

Vastly overpriced and rude. Tried to call and get prices and they said they don’t have time to help me. Good riddance.

Took lessons here from 92-94 with music teacher who said that people got paid a few cents to listen to music on the radio to keep track of what songs were played. I learned a few chords. I really dont like playing by chords and want to play by sound. Is there another way to play. No one seems to know what it means to play by sound and not chords. I think the electric guitar strings dont squeeze my fingers like they used to so it is easier. Chords seem like such a bother. I am a rock star you know

First time going to this music shop this past weekend, I walked out immediately. Not one employee acknowledge me, nor stopped to sayHello or asked if I needed help. THE PRICES ARE INSANE! WAY TOO EXPENSIVE! The place is also a mess besides the guitars and amps. Stuff is shoved in the corner, cant really find anything etc etc dont go here for anything music wise. Ended up at Guitar Center in SF which had everything I needed and more.

I get all my needs here. I am a respectable guitar player. I have 2 Les Pauls, a Strat etc. Judah their guitar tech is the only one I trust! He re-strings my guitars Par excellence . He modified my 2017 Strat. He is a craftsman! And I think he could get away with charging more. He also offers advice on guitar pedals. I told him what I was striving for in terms of tone and he recommended the proper effect pedals. He helped me craft my sound. I have a unique tone due to his help! There is no need to shop elsewhere because they match or do better on all prices.
