I just finished my case with Ryan Wood. I have never filed bankruptcy before and had $160,000 in debt. I make well over six figures, and things were so bad I was borrowing gas money from my brother. Sad, I know. I was totally stressed out and depressed. I attempted doing research online to figure out how to file bankruptcy on my own. I knew because of my income I had to pass this thing called a means test. It seemed I would never be able to qualify. I was very discouraged, but my brother who has filed bankruptcy in the past encouraged me to file. I called around, talked with three bankruptcy attorneys and ended up meeting two in person. One was Ryan Wood, who I ultimately went with. Sheesh, I dont even know where to start because I JUST found out my case was closed a few days ago, and I still cant believe it! I have such a weight off of me. Ryan was amazing. He is so friendly and encouraging. I have worked with lawyers before, and Ryan is NOT like other lawyers. He is nice. He is real. He is down-to-earth and... a little quirky, haha, but that adds to his personality. As a lawyer, of course he is busy, but he was reasonably responsive to my communications. He even called me once while he was sick as a dog to check in with me. He sounded like hell. At one point the court asked for further documentation. Of course, I panicked, thinking well this is it, They are going to reject my chap 7 request. Ryan help me stay calm though. We got the documents together for the court. Ryan reassured me sometimes the court asks for clarifying documentation. He walked me through what the plan would be if my case was rejected. Well, it never happened. Ryan did a great job, and I have my life back. The collectors have stopped calling. My credit score is already up in the 600s since I dont have any more late payments. West coats Bankruptcy Attorneys have been great help. I was informed this month that my bk was discharged after converting. My once low-interest-rate payment on my credit card spiraled out of control; they started charging over 22% interest monthly on my cards. I tried and tried to make all the payments until I realized this is an uphill battle that is getting worse each month. I reached the point that I did not have enough money monthly to pay them now. I called my creditors asked them if they could lower the interest rate back to the 6.99% or lower than what it is currently; explained that I was struggling to make the payments at this time; all I heard was No we cannot do that. I must say, I was so worried about the thought of filing bankruptcy. I was scared and I felt bad to have to do this to my creditors but they were not willing to work with me. I then decided to research bankruptcy attorneys. I called a few many had a recording asking me to leave a message, during my search online I came across The Law Offices of Lin & Wood they have an office in Redwood City and Fremont. I live in Hayward so the Fremont office worked for me. I then went on the Better Business Bureau website to see if they were an Accredited Business and if they had any complaints filed against them? I also wanted to see the rating giving to them by the Better Business Bureau. I was thrilled to see they were Accredited and holds an A+ rating; I felt good knowing this information. I guess my biggest concern was if I was going to file I needed to feel comfortable with the law firm that would walk me through this huge endeavor I was about to undertake financially. I was confident with their BBB A+rating I located the best firm in the east bay. My first attempt calling the office Mr. Ryan Wood answered the phone; I explained my situation and the urgency to get this started. He listened without interrupting me, when I stopped he started providing me with the needed information. He also squeezed me into his schedule the same day I was truly impressed. I met with him he explained everything in a way that was easy for me to understand what was going to happen step by step. I retained him that day; he instructed me to gather the latest invoice for all my credit cards as well as any other debt I am obligated to pay then turn it into him. He informed me I had to fill out a monthly expense sheet that he would provide; this expense sheet assists him in determining what type of bankruptcy would be best for me to file chapter 13 or 7. I have to admit Mr. Ryan wood told me the truth; each step happened just like he said they would. I am pleased to say I now live comfortably without worrying how am I going to pay my bills any longer and I do not have any creditors sending me letters or calling my phone or work. He does allow you some time I believe it was 60 days to pay the full down; he explained the case would be on hold not being worked until they received the full down payment. I decided I needed to pay this now to get the ball rolling even if I had to borrow it; I didnt want any wage garnishments to start? I did pay it in full within a day; three months later I met him at the courthouse in Oakland; shortly following the court appearance my bankruptcy case was done. Thanks to Mr. Ryan Wood I am now living a stress-free life. He is truly the best and has a vast amount of experience in bankruptcy law!! Youre in good hands if you retain him. This is just a short note to give a bit of feedback in regards to my experience with THE LAW OFFICE OF LIN & WOOD. I called your office due to information that I received from a bill collector saying I owed a debt that I was not responsible for. The collection agent was very rude on the phone and frightened me.
