Terrible experience. Will never use again. Unprofessional. Rude. Condescending. We brought a product to them asking them to install. They provided a quote and led us to believe they could complete the requested service. They called multiple times requesting we pay more money (over 4x initial quote) and stated even then they might not successfully complete the requested service. I then asked to just have my car put back to how it was realizing they couldn’t complete the requested service (that we were led to believe they could) and requested a refund. They refused a refund. We paid double the initial quote for them to do nothing.

I cannot say enough great things about this place!!!! Tony and Semon are AMAZING and you can see they care about the work they do and treating clients kindly!! I took my car in and had a 100,000 mile check up. They took such amazing care of her, she drives so much better. The last place I took my car (and will never go anywhere but RAE again) should have told me that my serpentine belt was bad and needed to be replaced RIGHT AWAY but didnt, I had the wrong spark plugs in etc. RAE went over my car with a fine tooth comb and she is driving like shes brand new! THANK YOU RAE for being trustworthy and amazing!

Its difficult to find a shop that doesnt try to charge you more than the estimate, but Alex gave me a quote and when the time came to pay the bill it was less than the estimate. He told me that he didnt need to do as much work as the estimate stated, and he didnt feel right about charging me for work that wasnt done. I was fine with the amount on the estimate, but he felt it was best to charge for what was done - and not what I agree to when I signed the paperwork. Who does that? Canyon Lake Auto Repair does that! Its not often that I need a shop for my repairs, but theyll get my business again.

My day started out pretty rough because smoke began coming out of the steering column on the Riverside freeway while on the way to my husbands doctors appointment this morning! Scared the life out of me! However, I was referred to REDLANDS AUTO ELECTRIC, so went to get it checked out. The wiring to the lights and turn signal handle had shorted out and was smoldering. They had one in stock and in one hour, I was on my way. So thankful for them.

This business has lasted over 40 years and the quality of service is one of the reasons why. Jim and his people are very knowledgeable about many types and makes of vehicles. When I take my car here, I know its going to be fixed right the first time.

Their prices are reasonable and they do their best for the customer to keep the bill down. I have had a lot of work done by them over the years and have yet to take a repair back for rework. This is the worst auto shop I have ever been to I recently dropped off my car because it was overheating when I dropped off the car I said the problem might be with the coolant tank or the radiator hose in specifically not the thermostat because I just recently replaced it but a couple days later they told me that the issue was with a thermostat because of a so called Clog. They charged me $350 To look at it and for the labor and $20 part But when I left not even 10 minutes later the car overheated again and I took it back and now theyre saying that the issue wasnt the thermostat and it was a crack in the coolant tank like I originally said I tried to work out a deal with the cost but they said they couldnt give me the $350 back because there was a so called clog in the thermostat and instead they charged me an additional $300 to fix the coolant tank, If you dont know anything about cars or how to fix them this is not the place to go.They are friendly though so i guess thats good, Im just upset a misunderstanding costed me a extra $350UPDATE: just picked the car up after they fixed the coolant reservoir, and 5 minutes of driving it it over heated AGAIN. Pretty sure I have a blue head gasket now.SECOND UPDATE: It turns out that the problem wasnt a blow head gasket but when they fixed the coolant reservoir they for got to put a hose in the right place! Drove it a few blocks down the street and the radiator blew up steam! Im sure that I have a blown head gasket now! And I think I may have gotten it from having it overheat on me the past week due to it not being fixed correctly!

I had a very positive experience working with Redlands Auto Electric. I was visiting from out of state and had A/C problems, an issue I had checked out before leaving home and hoped was fixed. Wouldnt you know when crossing the desert at 90-95 degrees the A/C stops working. I took the car to Redlands Auto Electric and they checked it out all day trying to get the A/C to not work. As luck would have it, it was working when at the shop. I couldnt blame them. The nice thing was that even after checking it out throughout the day trying to get it to NOT work (its worked ever since) they only charged me $20.00 for trying to diagnose. They knew I was from out of state and could have taken advantage of me, but they didnt. Thank you so much for being honest. I highly recommend your repair shop.

Update to owner your mechanic miss a very important part of the inspection. I have the paperwork no major issues well guess what the timing chain is making noises I bought the car base on your inspection now Im out 2k replacing timing chain. Thats why I took it to you for inspection why didnt they hear the noise coming from engine department.Previous reviewDont go here save your money and go somewhere else. Went in for a vehicle inspection they originally say 90 question check list, but it was 45. I purchased a car and wanted to know if anything was wrong with it. I think it was Josh that recommended vehicle inspection. They would look at the car and if anything was wrong they would let me know. Well before I turn in the keys I explain to the person infront car wouldnt start I didnt know why. He check it and it didnt start on him either regardless he say with the inspection he would let me know what was wrong. I also told him if I can get a price qoute on any work needed he say he would write it down.I called 2 hours after I dropped off the car they were done. The person who answered the phone told me I needed some hoses, power steering was leaking, and battery might be going bad. When I ask what was wrong with the car why didnt it start earlier they say they dont know. If I wanted to check if it was fuel pump, or anything else it would be an extra 160 I think for a diagnose. What the hell I just pay 90 then they want an extra 160. Nissan of San Bernardino charges 140 for a full diagnose. Anyways went the next morning to pick up car told the person I was not happy with the service and that he gave me incorrect information. He didnt care I paid the 90 dollars since is a civil matter . I know they did not render service, but that is up to small claims. I am going to try to file a claim with their bond/insurance.They would rather waste time in court then fix cars. When I received the paperwork it was a 45 item check list and here the kicker they didnt even drive the car. Miles in and out are the same. How good of an inspection can you do without a test drive?? I didnt received any price quotes for work needed as I guess they dont like to work on cars. Any other shop would recommend any work needed with a price quote.

The price Ive paid for each service has always been right in line with estimates, if not below. If there have been mistakes (during a brake service, a rotor wasnt fully resurfaced), they took care of the issue free-of-charge without absolutely no hassle or pushback, just as one would expect from a quality mechanic. Unbelievable worse place in automobile service in history - I wouldnt take a go-cart to this placeJosh counter help was so rude and didnt even listen - I know its not a fuel pump it is the anti-theft system that shuts off the power to the fuel pump didnt even check that in two days it has been their - just went to the more expensive solution, just hangs up the phone -I only went their because AAA said that they know what they are doing - so rude and cocking personality unbelievable horrible place.

Our son was traveling from AZ to San Jose, CA and his car started overheating about 3 hours in to his trip He was able to make it to Redlands and we went on AAA to look up AAA certified mechanics. My husband called Redlands Auto Electric and spoke to Josh who was very friendly and professional and said that they would take care of him. As you can imagine, we were imagining the worst, thinking that we would get hit with an astronomical bill. They did a thorough diagnostic check and was able to get him in and out very quickly and back on the road again. And they didnt even charge him the total amount that we thought he was going be charged. It is nice to know that there are still companies out there that wont take you to the cleaners. Thank you and we definitely will pass the word about your company and if we ever run in to problems, will come back again.

These guys are down to earth and nice, but when I took my vechile to get looked at for a over heating issue, they did a half ass job and now Im paying the price for it.First time I took my car in, was charged $110 to have it looked at. Redlands Auto Electric only pressure the radiator and found one problem. Fixed it and sent me on my way.Two weeks later, Im still having over heating issues and took it back and asked them to look at it again because they might have missed something. Well again pressure test again, to find out radiator cap needs to be replaced. And again sent me on my way.Later that night my car is continuing to have same issues, so I called a friend who knew a few things. Well, this friend informed me, that Redlands Auto Electric should have done a full inspection and checked everything including my oil levels and everything. Which they didnt and now I have a blown head gasket because they didnt check everything and just put a band aid on my problem.These guys are nice good people, but they did a half ass job and didnt check everything. They have good reviews, but my experience wasnt positive. If you just want to band aid your car problem, these are your guys. If you want good quality work for a good price, Franklins in San Bernadino is the place to go. Ask for Dickie or Hason

Redlands Auto Electric is an excellent place to take your vehicle. Whenever they do service on it they have it ready on time when promised.

They dont test your vehicle before they give you the keys back...you have to be the one to find that the problem isnt fixed. Took my car in because my car wouldnt start and radio, windows,dash lights wouldnt come on. I TOWED my car there at 8:20 am with a scheduled appointment.They closed at 6:00pm on that day.We waited all day to find out what the problem was, well 5:30pm we decided to call them, and they said your car is fixed.WHY DIDNT THEY CALL,IDKWe get there and pay only $95. I get in the car and it starts fine, when i get home in my driveway, i turn my car off.When a go to start it back up, it wont start, it still had the same problem as berfore!!All they did was change a blown fuse.I know this because they left the bad one in my car.So basically they charged me $95 to change a fuse. I know they didnt test the car because on my way home i rolled down the windows and when the car wouldnt start, i went to the auto store and bought two fuses like the one that blew out SO I COULD AT LEAST ROLL THE WINDOWS UP. The first fuse blew right when i turned the ignition with out starting it.With the second fuse i was able to roll my windows up and start the car but it made a wierd noise.I turned off the car and tried to start it again and it wouldnt start, the fuse blew again.Now if they would of tested my car they would of known that the car wasnt fixed AND THAT THERE IS OBVIOUSLY A SHORT that is causing the starter/ignition fuse to blow. I KNOW VERY LITTLE ABOUT CARS AND EVEN I KNOW THIS, BUT DAMN THESE ARE THE OUR SUPPOSED TO BE Professionals?
