I walked in today to look for a guitar and the wonderful staff came right up to me and assisted me with what I need and where to find it. Very helpful, the transaction was quick and painless, and as a cherry on top, they even let me play the instrument before deciding to buy it or not. Long story short, best music place you could purchase from, and its better than most competition.

First of all I have no musical skills at all! I have donated a saxophone, had my husbands flute serviced and just dropped off my 1894 zither. The staff are awesome!!

Rick’s is just a great music store with a fantastic community spirit. I found Rick’s about 2 months ago when shopping for a new guitar. The staff there could not have been more welcoming and helpful. I purchased the guitar, however through no fault of Rick’s, there were some problems with the guitar that required it to be returned. Through that process they could not have been more helpful or professional - they wanted the purchase to work for me and wanted me to be completely happy with my purchase. I am!!! The guitar is great and I am now a devoted customer. I have also started singing/guitar lessons and have attended two Open Mic nights. If you want a fun time listening to local talent come down to an Open Mic night - a great time!!!

I SAVED MONEY at Ricks than shopping on Amazon. My kid sent me the list of items he wanted for Christmas via Amazon links. I wanted to shop local so I sent Bob at Ricks my list and he got the items (in one case a better quality replacement) and it was cheaper than the Amazon total!! Great local business and a real gem for the community.

Great store, great people. Ricks is a wonderful family store that makes a difference in the community just by being there. Sales, lessons, a cafe for parents. Theres a large open showroom and stage where atudrnts can perform.I regularly buy there and take lessons.

This music store is more like an academy for our youth. From various instrumental and vocal teachings in person and now online, they set the bar high. Sadly, these days our schools arent finding music departments well at all but Ricks music combats that with their high class approach to molding the minds of our future musicians. They dont just teach the instrument, they praise the performance which in most cases is equally as important. They host performance nights for the kids and adult performers which really brings the experience to life. Music education is so important in the development of math and even English skills. It can help improve your childs grades and will ultimately inspire them to use that coconut for something more beneficial than a video game victory. Dont forget their staff is knowledgeable and their pricing for instruments and accessories make you never want to step foot into another guitar center again which is known as the Walmart of music stores. Just purchased a new guitar to carry around in my truck the manufacturer provides a free carry bag and strap from them with all their products and not only does this place not give you the strap but actually charged extra for the actual bag that comes with the guitar integrity is everything I understand sales are down with covid but that doesnt excuse theft will never give them business again wouldnt even buy a pick again from this place

This is a great venue FIVE STARS and great people. The food at the cafe is wonderful. Open Mic Night is Thursday 7pm and is the best entertainment ever. Donation at the door for these events go to Music Lesson Scholarships/ Rick s Music World Ltd gives back to the community and their students. This is a MUST VISIT when in the area.

This is a great place. I’ve owned my guitars for ten years+ and had them set up with Rick’s and they look so good even a couple years after the fact now, polished up like the day I bought em and played better then I’ve ever heard them! If it wasn’t for scratches I had put there myself over the years I wouldn’t have recognized them as mine; the wood was completely rejuvenated. Also I’ve ordered a Boss Pedal through them and delivery was speedy and I felt secure knowing my products were shipped to a reputable and safe place of business. And When I priced shopped I noticed I had gotten a great deal and would have paid same buying direct, gentlemen who left negative review about order couldn’t be more wrong! It’s located right by our current practice space in Taunton and I can’t say enough good things about them. What they do for the young students is amazing and great staff.

I cant say enough good things about this place, its done so much for me. A few years ago I finally manage to improve some lifelong health issues. I stopped by the store to buy some guitar strings and noticed the open mic going on in the background. It had been over a decade since I performed life music so I came back weeks later to give that a shot. Its now 3 years later and I kept coming back every week. I lost contact with most of my friends during my sickest years so I was basically starting from 0 when I started to improve. Within just a few months, I had a larger social circle than ever before thanks to the Ricks community. On my birthday in 2016, the owners surprised me with a cake, cards, and had arranged for everyone to sing Happy Birthday to me. I was overwhelmed. Later on I was given the opportunity to perform my dream Halloween show which was basically like a Rock & Roll Fantasy Camp. Although I was doing better, I was far from being well enough to work. Over the years, college career centers and govt organizations meant to find sick people work failed me over and over. I asked Rick if he could keep an eye out for jobs since he knows many people in the community. The very next day he asked me to speak with him to discuss my abilities - just by doing that he did more than anyone else had done. We figured out some super part time I could do which gave me something to put on my resume for the first time nearly at age 30. My story is not unique either. Over the years Ive overheard the owners helping one of their employees put a down payment on her first car, and theyre currently taking donations to help a longtime former employee pay for bills while she tries to get benefits for a serious health problem. I dont believe in magic, but the things that this place has done for me and others is as magical as life gets. Attached is a photo of the plastic guitar they decorated my birthday cake with.

Nice selection. Helpful staff. 3 stars for their trade in policy. Don’t expect a fair deal. Brought in a Sunn beta lead amp with footswitch. I had no idea of the value. I later found out I was given 1/8 the retail value. That’s not reasonable in any world. I’ve never gone back since and won’t. Short term they gained. Long term they lost a repeat customer.

Rick’s Music is the best!! I bought a Korg digital piano from them at a great price. Staff was super helpful and I’m loving my new piano. I highly recommend Rick’s to anyone who appreciates great deals and service!

I bought a guitar cable that happened to be broken. When I went back the next day with a receipt to get a new one they tested the beoken one and wouldnt exchange it. I went back again when different people where there and got a working cable. Way to much effort for basic equipment, Amazon wins again.

I have been coming to Ricks Music for more than 20 years. Rick, Bob, Chris and their devoted staff are the kindest people you will ever meet. Their knowledge of music and the equipment needed to provide it, is remarkable. As a keyboardest for 45 years i have been through 3 generations of keyboards at Ricks. They have provided me with their best possible deals. Im actually heading there today.

I used to love this place, back when they were in swansea. Until years later Ive come to realize, Ive been ripped off. They charged me over 700 dollars, for a 300 dollar guitar. The staff(at the time) was questionable....and I regret going through this company. I really hope, yet doubt, they have straighted out their act.
