I was shopping to replace my recently deceased Beta fish and decided that I should make a trip to our local PetSmart store. I was able to easily locate exactly what I was looking for and get all of the accessories that I needed to set up my tank. The staff was friendly and helpful when I got to the register to pay for my purchase. I thought the prices were pretty decent and I am definitely happy with my new Beta. He is happy to get out of that little container and have space to move.

Great store with the best groomers. Shandra had been taking care of our dogs for years while we are in Rapid City for the summer. All of the staff is friend and efficient. Store is organized well and there is usually plenty of staff available. They are quick to open additional registers when needed. Would highly recommend and will go again.

We rescue cats and have gotten many fixed there. Great experience 👍 thanks 😊

Great experience! My dog looked and smelled so much better (haha) after his grooming with Zach (groomer at PetSmart Rapid City).

I waited weeks for an appointment. Got there at the appointed time this morning and waited outside the salon drop off area for at least 20 minutes while two employees dealt with another customers unruly dogs before me. One of those other dogs had just bit the groomer on the hand. Once I was allowed inside the now irritated groomer looked over my cocker spaniel and claimed she would need to shave her because she allegedly found mats under my dogs arm pits and chest. I was shocked to say the least since I regularly comb my indoor dog and I had thoroughly combed my dogs coat before bringing her in to avoid this very issue because of a past incident. (A groomer erroneously completely shaved my dog 3 years ago). I reached down and tried to find the mats she claimed were there and could only find one very minor mat under one arm pit. I inquired why she couldnt use a mat splitter on that mat and she said that it would hurt the dog so she needed to shave my dogs legs and chest. She added that I could find another groomer to do the dog but she wouldnt use a splitter. She then condescendingly brought up the 3 year old shaving incident and started arguing that the former employee had received my husbands permission to shave my entire dog, which was absolutely untrue. My husband was standing right there and was very insulted that she insinuated that he was a liar. It was very clear that she harbored a grudge on behalf of that employee from 3 years ago and didnt want to groom my dog even though I had taken my dog back to Petsmart several times since without incident and never had a problem with Petsmart in CA prior to the 2018 shaving incident. I decided to walk out of the salon and find the manager to have him feel the dog himself so he would know that she was manufacturing an excuse to not groom my dog today. He felt my dog and was perplexed and apologized but that was the extent of it. It seems that shaving and bathing is the preferred method of grooming at this Petsmart. I will never take my dog back to the Rapid City PetSmart and I will not use any of their products or services in the future.

They do a great job of grooming our Cockapoo. Id recommend them to others.

Its a PetSmart. If youre looking to pickup stuff for your cat or dog its great, but the way they keep their reptiles is just subpar and thats saying the least. Its a fine place to get supplies, but if youre looking to get a new pet, make sure to do your research before hand and dont impulse buy.

Quick to find what we needed and we were pleased our dog tags were made right then.

Took my cat in for grooming. He came back trimmed where he had badly needed it, well brushed with his ears cleaned and nails trimmed better than I have ever managed. The staff were personable and told me what to expect before they staryed and answered questions on how my cat handled his first professional grooming experience.Price was reasonable as well. 5 stars

The grooming department is terrible. I went to get my cat a haircut, but first it took them almost 2 weeks to call me back and when we made the appointment it was later in the month, know comes the day of the appointment I arrive on time for the appointment (mind you all the calls I got to make sure I was going to the appointment and personal calls from the staff about the appointment) I walk in and with an attitude she wanted us to wait outside I understand about she was finishing up on a cat but I dont appreciate the attitude so we waited then they just call me while I was in the store to tell me they have to cancel for some kind of a pathetic excuse so I wasted my time coming to the store for nothing so I really recommend to anyone else to go somewhere else so you are not wasting your time with unprofessional idiots.

Usually I have a good grooming experience in the grooming department but not today, my experience was very unprofessional. The Groomer made snarky unnecessary comments about how “difficult” my puppy was BEFORE she even started with the service stating that I should get my dog fixed so he would be more calm. Then called after she finished grooming him to state how she couldn’t get his face and how no one else will take him next time except one other person (delivery is everything) . Dogs can pick up on bad vibes. I do not recommend Alicia J.

Didnt have many popular fish, was greeted at the door but not in the fish department. The lady I did ask was nice and answered my questions. It was clean and the tanks look great.

They have the only toy in town that is durable than any Kong toy. Its big enough that it cant get lost under the bed or dresser. This ball thing is only 4.99 plus tax and can survive a heeler puppy.

I always love coming here. They have the nicest most helpful staff. And my Blue Heeler enjoys it too.

We bought a ball python and shes 6 months old now our experience at PetSmart was great!

I noticed while shopping around, Alicia J was very rude when servicing a customer and her puppy. Instead of doing her job, she gave out opinions that weren’t needed. Not every dog is easy to groom, but for a dog groomer to tell someone they should find a new groomer or get their dog fixed is very unprofessional. Will NOT recommend anyone I know to get their pets groomed here.

The store manager neglect to make sure the store was open at the appropriate time. His excuse was he believed a cashier who hadnt shown up would unlock the door upon their arrival/ opening time. As a manager its your job to verify what your employees do he should have made sure the employee was on time/ before the store opened instead he trusted a untrustable employee

Nothing eventful. You are relatively on your own in these stores. Limited staffing keeps them very busy and hard to find, but the majority of the store is laid out pretty self explanatory..cats on the left..dogs on the right..reptiles, fish, rodents or birds up front and to their respectable sides. Found what I needed in the back wellness area for dogs (left side). Checkout was friendly.

Im not one to write reviews, but I feel particularly compelled. I had an 8 a.m. grooming appt. The store manager didnt show up to let customers and employees in the store until 8:05 in below zero weather. She neglected to turn the automatic doors on so I had to pry them open/close upon entering and exiting. (Im not a princess, but COME ON.) Waited for 15 minutes outside the grooming office only to find out that the head groomer called in without notice, and wed have to cancel. (I question why she couldnt have informed us this as we waited?) I will note, the grooming staff was apologetic, as its not their fault management is running a rinky dink operation. A good reminder to GROOM LOCAL. Dont waste your time with big box stores that pay absolutely no care to a customers time.

Kicked me and my mom out for not wearing face coverings, we werent hurting anybody. Had a great conversation with the fish keeper girls and another woman that needed some guppy advice. Very disappointed with how the lady that insisted that we comply or we will have to leave. We both feel very discriminated against. We will take our business elsewhere.

Good place for pet supplies. They dont really have any animals for purchase other than fish because of covid restrictions.

A wide variety of terrariums on hand and decorations as well! I went to Petco at first and they were lacking in tanks, aquatic accessories, reptile accessories, and so on. I was extremely pleased that I could find everything that I needed and extras as well. The associate was extremely helpful and made the experience there wonderful. I will be returning whenever I am in the area.

Me and my fiancé went to petsmart yesterday evening around 6:30 pm. We went to go check out what cats they had up for adoption, after looking we noticed a cat in the corner with blood covering their paws and dripping from its mouth. I went to notify the manger on duty who said “ I’ll get someone over there .” I went back to the cat, my fiancé pointed out it’s collar was stuck in its mouth. I went to go tell the manger AGAIN that there was a cat who was bleeding and needed help. He finally said okay I’ll go take a look. Not only am I HORRIFIED at their treatment of the animals in their care but after the collar was removed the manager came up to us to tell us “thank you! We wouldn’t have noticed that until closing!” How are they not checking in their animals on a regular basis? I will never EVER shop at this location again. I am truly horrified that they treat their animals like that. If someone brings an issue like an injured animal up the manager it should be looked at IMMEDIATELY! Especially since the manager was stocking shelves. He could have helped sooner. I hope the manager gets talked to about how he needs to manager his store better. This shows a severe lack of care and compassion to the animals.

First off, I doordash so this review is from that perspective. They were very understaffed when I was there but they did have the clients order ready and waiting once I got through the line. The employees were quite knowledgeable as well. They offered good service but they need more people. I still reccomend the place.

The service was great! They food was decent for the price. Half priced margaritas on Wednesday, make sure you only get the house margarita or you dont get the half price and itll cost you $6.

Great place for you and your dog or cat to shop for there goodies.

Its really about how people are treated . This location seemed to have no leadership structure to speak of during my visit . In the 10 minutes it took me to find my item, the line of six people had not moved . I would have been livid had I waited in line to give them money as there were others who could have helped take money. As I finally got to my turn to give the corporate giant my hard earned money, the cashier mechanically went through the stereotype phrases and then began having an passionate conversation with a co-worker about other team members and schedules while the now fillld bag lay out of my reach, the now off duty employee reaches to give it to me while the young woman who I just gave my money to could not be more dis interested in her job.In my opinion, we should do what we do with passion to better ourselves .This was certainly not the case for PetSmart or this immature team member that was there for a check and no other reason .

A short trip to PetSmart turned out to be almost an hour trip, but thanks to Jessie, it was all smooth and very enjoyable! He was very helpful, very kind, and was patient with us. He was able to get us everything we needed within a timely manner. My first visit to this store was nothing but pleasant!

We talked to a guy named Chris ...was very courteous and knowledgeable!! Helped us find fish oil products for our furbaby and than was also our cashier !! Too notch service and he is also a veteran!! Thank you for your service... and thank you for your service on our visit!!

I highly DO NOT recommend them. My dog got kennel cough there and they took no responsibility nor made any calls to people warning them. In the past have had issues with them not keeping vaccine records and making it our responsibility to call and have it fixed on their end when it is their job to do so. We were brushed off and tried to reschedule and they said there was no way to do it and we could wait another 3 weeks for their mistake. Also they forget to do services that we requested and paid for and have had to stay longer for them to actually do them. Worst customer service.

The groomers did a good job grooming our 2 dogs.

Took my 4yr old female German Shepherd “KC” in for a grooming. Rod did a wonderful job and they took great care of my loved dog. Thank you very much and we will be back for all of our grooming needs.

This is an excellent pet store.. Every time Ive come in, the staff is friendly, and you can always spot an employee quickly and easily if you need help at all. Ive always had a great experience with the staff in getting good information when Ive needed . Ive found the prices are usually lower than some competitors in the area, and members get deals and points to use often. Thanks for always providing a great environment!
