Sensei Juan is a very knowledgeable instructor. He is patient with his students and helps each one excel to their greatest potential. He seeks opportunities to invite other seasoned instructors to assist in class or to teach new skills to his students and even himself. He doesnt focus on winning in tournaments even though it is wonderful when they do! :) ). He focuses on the opportunity of learning more from the tournament and to have fun. I love this place!! I bring my nephew Brian Humberto Hernandez Elvira occasionally and love to sit and watch his classes. I love to see my nephew brian and my niece kaylee faces when they enter to karate class because they get excited because they know that every single time they have different training and they love to learn different things. I have never written a review so I have no idea of the appropriate etiquette of a review.I find all are welcome at this dojo (young to old; people who do this for exercise to national level competitors). If you are serious about learning Shotokan karate and live in Raleigh this is definitely a school to check out.

I started taking Judo classes here a few months ago, and the dojo is really incredible. All of the instructors are absolutely top-notch, all levels are welcomed, and class sizes are small. It can be a little tough for someone who is an absolute beginner, but you will learn fast.

I am currently taking classes and I love them. I am new to it still but i enjoy the classes and the hard work. I definitely would recommend this to anyone who wants to try something new

This is a fantastic Dojo. We took my son here for a weekend training. My son loved the teachers and is always asking to go back. The teachers took time for him and cared about him as much as all the other students. We cant wait to go back!

Sensei Rodriquez is a wonderful martial arts teacher. Progress is not just about belts, but about building the childs character as well as his/her physical abilities. He takes being a mentor very seriously and strives to model everything he asks of his students. This is not just a dojo, it is a home.

I was about to go to this school but I live way to far way but it is a good school and they treat you like family and I recommend to go to this school.

Bushido is hands down the best dojo Ive been to. Its great fun to practice there and the instructors all know their stuff and the members friendly and welcoming. The dojo itself is pretty nice, nicely furnished with plenty of mat space and mirrors, plus equipment to help train. They also have Judo classes and from time to time they bring in outside instructors for seminars. The membership fee is also quite reasonable and there are no seedy contracts to sign like other less reputable places.

As a student of Bushido Karate Shotokan and as a parent of a student as well, I can honestly say that there is no better martial arts instruction to be had in the Triangle. I have trained with a number of instructors and Rodriguez Sensei is outstanding. He is a natural teacher, who is able to break complicated skills into manageable pieces for children as young as 4 who learn and progress. He is not a belt factory, he will not test a student who has not met his criteria for skills, dedication, discipline and behavior both at home and at school for children. I strongly recommend that anyone who is interested in pursuing martial arts training check out BKS, you wont be disappointed!

Bushido Karate is the best dojo Ive trained at and I have learned so many things over the years!

Sensei Juan is the best! He said we would compete in tournaments and I have! I feel more energetic, more fit, more lean, and more confident! Ive trained in muay thai, boxing, jui jitsu, and even ninjitsu. I even wrestled in high school. This is the most fulfilling place Ive been. I look forward to nationals later this year and going to the Olympics in 2020. Thank you Sensei your the best!!!!

This is the first time learning karate and I have seen so many karate movies that wowed me but I will say watching it and doing it is just on another level. Its like watching your favorite sport team play on tv vs seeing them live in action. Sensei is just amazing. Watching him show how the moves should be done and how to effectively use them against your opponent. Its so easy to follow him in the steps and he will break it down if you dont understand and he will make sure you understand before moving to the next step. He loves when you ask questions so he can see where youre at. If your looking for a school to go to and its your first time or you been doing it for a while and you moved to NC, you cant go wrong with this school and Sensei. If you are interested in taking karate and youre confused about where to start, look no further than Sensei Juan Rodriguez and Bushido Karate Shotokan. There is no need to waste your time and money going anywhere else. You will not have a better experience. My son has taken karate since he was 4 at 2 other places before taking with Sensei Rodriguez. Every lesson was the same - the same punches, blocks, kicks, over and over. One of the places actually thought it was a good idea to have participants learn kata on their own. How does a 5-year-old look at instructions with pictures or even a video to teach themselves kata? We werent getting anything out of it but boredom, a lot of begging to quit, wasted time, and empty pockets. Then, we found Sensei Rodriguez and everything changed. He takes the care to get to know each student, each family, and knows what each student needs. His manner of teaching gets results. The instruction my son has received at Bushido Karate has helped him focus better in other areas of his life. My son and husband have been taking for several years now and it has become an integral part of our lives. If you are interested in karate, come down and talk to Sensei. You will not be disappointed.

My son participated in another dojo before we joined Bushido Karate Shotokan. We were not happy with the progress he was making. Now that we have joined this dojo, my son is happy to come to class. He has learned more as a white belt here than as an orange belt at the other place. The Sensei at Bushido Karate Shotokan takes pride in all of his students and wants the best for them. When you arrive, you are greeted with a smile. The dojo has a warm atmosphere and the kids who participate treat each other like family. I am proud to be apart of such a wonderful dojo!

The classes are perfect! The highly qualified instructors (Pan American, World, Olympic, all internationally recognized). Karate, Judo, Kurash, Combat Fitness and more classes.

Finally after trying schools all over Raleigh I found Sensei Juans Dojo. Here he trains seriously and for real! My recommendation for those who are looking for a school with a high technical, physical and mental level is not to waste time and visit the Dojo. The school offers trial classes. After the first sure you decide to stay.Sensei Juan has the ability to mix karate theory with advanced combat, which is hard to find in karate schools today. Each technique and kata is studied in its entirety, from the explanations of the optimal use of muscular force, through the traditional application, use in competitive combat and its use in personal defense. Each student receives emphasis and direction according to their own requirements. The goal of bushido in my opinion is simple: to get each student to give their best. If you want fancy karate, this is not the place for you.

I am very happy because my children have learned a lot and they love Karate classes. My children have been training Tae Kwon Do for 12 months and it shows the differences with these classes. Sensei Rodriguez, gives us the best attention and does many things for the community.
