No strong arm sales tactics here. The process of selecting/purchasing our spa was relaxed and informative. Our sales person, Ryan, was very helpful and patient as we worked through the approval of the spa with our homeowners’ association.

Good Buying experience with Ryan who I guess is also the GM? 4 times I have left messages regarding a tub we purchased in full over 6 months ago. I understand delays but I shouldnt have to consistently chase you down to find out whats going on. They are very content to keep my $$$ and never provide what was promised. Im going to give them 2 more weeks before I look into my legal options.

They have a bunch of fake reviews here . Read through them all and try n figure out what’s real and what’s them trying to hide what a horrible company they are . Dealing with this company has been an absolute horror . I wouldnt order a hot tub from them as we never got ours after about 3 months of waiting I started to request my money back . They refused. We got a pool installed by them also and every aspect of it was a nightmare. They destroyed our property and never did anything about it in fact they completely stopped answering emails. Pool was finished off by a ton of wrinkles in the liner and 2 inches of mud in it from when they backfilled. We want a refund for the hot tub we never received . Horrible company. Check out the BBB complaints they have before spending your money here . You will wish you listen to me if you dont. Take your money and business somewhere else. Management is horrible. Ordered an inground pool and hot tub in January of 2021, it’s now August of 2021 and still no hot tub. Finally got the pool finished last week and that was an absolute nightmare. It was supposed to be complete in March! Inground pool has ton of wrinkles, pipes connected to filter are loose, they destroyed our patio and drainage system and that is just some of the issues. They have stopped answering emails about the issues at hand. I am embarrassed to have people come swim in a 40k pool that looks like it was a DIY job. Do your research and don’t believe all google reviews. Check out BBB, wish we did.

If there was a negative star, they would get it. Paid for hot tub in February. I was told it woud be here in May due to Covid. Cool. Got it. Then I was told June. Yep, nothing. Here we are in August and I finally got it. Not because they called to tell me, but because I made my umpteenth call. Pre electric was done prior, and hot tub people were supposed to hard wire because I got the 5 star treatment package. Well when the 4 people came, they had not clue how to hook it up. Not to mention I bought a Covana cover and all in all I spent 17000.00. The man had only hookes up ONE before, so he sat outside readinf the uswr manual. After twllin him about the LED plug in hanging out, he said we will take care of that..... Still hanging.So I call rhe store, and Aaron blamed me for not being able to explain the end of the cord that hooks the LED lights up. I said it is similar to an Ethernet cable. He was looking at the user guide..He blamed me for not researching how to hookup hot tubs before I spent so much money.Seriously... Seriously..Whar they dont realize, is have nothing but time, money, and this will be fixed.Dont go friends... Just dont go. Worst mistake you will evwr make.Good luck backyard dumpster. Youll be hearing from me soon.

Great experience when picking out and buying a hot tub. Took some time to get it delivered. Installer had no knowledge of the hot tub or how to start the chemicals. So I did my own research and had to consult with another company. Hot the hot tub ready and had some issues with the water. I was not informed that the hot tub had antifreeze in the lines. That was costly to drain,purge,new filter, and fill back up with chemicals. Everything was good for a couple months until I noticed it stayed wet under the tub. Opened it up and it had a leak. Called to get it fixed, played phone tag for weeks. Finally got an appointment, installer never shows or answers the phone. I play phone tag again for weeks. Installer finally calls and has the parts for the third time. At this point I have already ordered the parts and fixed the problem(took 4 days), out of my pocket. Even though the tub has a warranty, good luck getting anyone from this place to help or fix your problems. I will not buy again or recommend this place in the future. The tub frame is damaged from the water leaking and this should not have happened.

It was definitely worth the hour drive to Backyard Leisure Pools and Spas. Unlike other busy stores, they immediately acknowledged our presence and actually made time for us to be able to sit down with an associate. John gave us a generous amount of time showing us our options and answering all our questions. There was no pressure to purchase on the spot. We even called a few times with follow up questions, which were answered without hesitation. A week later, we returned to buy the pool. Again, John was very informative and walked us through the purchase process. Highly recommend.

The only reason this review is not a 5 is because we had issues getting the installation started due to a backlog of projects from a rainy Spring and the communication could have been better. Our backyard was a challenge due to the topography. After several conversations with Ryan Smith he sent some prototype drawings that we loved and we felt would allow us to install an inground pool. I love the shape of this pool and I really love the retaining wall. It is a work of art. The installer was excellent at communication and answered my many questions. I used the reviews to choose our pool company and I hope this review helps you choose Backyard Leisure in Raleigh, NC.

Was quoted on Sunday 7-25 by john for a pool at or around 15k then on Wednesday when he was due back i called to lock it down and the lady said he was probably not coming back to work and then her price was 10k more and 2 months later install date. Ill go else where.

Backyard Leisure and it’s sales associates were very nice to deal with. Very informative, honest, and fair. We made our decision to be our hot tub after visiting the store a few times and by receiving good advice from Ryan.

We found an acceptable pool for our needs, at a reasonable price on June 3, 2020. We did our own financing. Chris was our salesman. We were notified within a week after purchase when the workers would be here to prep the area. That was going to take about 4 weeks for scheduling purposes. We were told they would be here on 7/10 and installation on 7/15. Unfortunately there was a scheduling issue and they didnt call us first.... We called to find out when they would be here and were told they couldnt come that day. So we called back to the store and they rescheduled 7/14. I was satisfied with the work they did. They even took some of the ground to a place low along my driveway. They grated it really nice so I could reseed. This morning 7/17, the workers called me and told me they were on their way here shortly after 8:00 am. They arrived around 9:45 and went straight to work installing the pool. They were finished by 12:30 pm. James gave me the instructions on how to backwash, clean the pool etc. I was informed there was a hose missing for cleaning the pool, as well as the saltwater system, and the ladder. These items are on backorder at this time. Im very satisfied with the pool installation and all employees were very good at what they do.

I have nothing but great things to say about this place. Chris Gainey has been so helpful throughout this process. Our land was leveled and the pool was installed a few days later just as we were told. Whenever we visit the store they make sure to take care of whatever we need. John has also been helpful answering many of our questions as we are first time pool owners. This place is awesome.

I have been a customer since June 2016 when I got my 24’ pool system from these guys. I can’t say enough positive things about this establishment. First off, I shopped around a lot and educated myself which meant repeat visits to the store and not purchasing anything but asking questions. They never pressured me, and simply answered my questions with expertise.Installation: flawless. Everyone on time, beautiful grading job. The install team was in great spirits and also helped educate me on start up process. Pool looked professional and beautiful.Ongoing learning process: these guys never judge me when I screw up. Algae bloom? Here is how to resolve. They also have helped me a few times via phone when I’ve also done something stupid. In most of my experiences I’ve dealt with Ryan and he’s just the best. The other staff members are awesome too. I am just so thankful for their continuing help and being so smart at what they do. You can’t go wrong with Backyard Leisure.

Don’t buy a Bullfrog Spa from them they are junk. I had a Caldera previously and loved it, the Caldera from another business lasted me 7 years. The Bullfrog Spa heats by turning on the main pump so it’s loud. The controls started coming off after a year and the outside started cracking. I’d highly recommend you get a Caldera Spa. Also when you buy a spa from Backyard Leisure it’s hard to get maintenance from someone at the store. They contract out the service. Everyone at the store is nice but I’d check around the Caldera Spa is priced better and has a better warranty.

Jason took the time to learn our needs when excavating for the pool install and worked with our deck builder to make sure all the heights matched up properly. Absolutely Horrible! Go somewhere else! Trust me if something goes wrong no one will fix or contact you. Spent $10,000 on a pool and it has been nothing but issues, problems, and no customer service since day 1 of install. Find somewhere else!!!

Let me start by saying do not believe the rating you see online. This is a ploy to give you a discount if you leave a good review. Look up this company on the BBB website to see the issues you will get from this company. I fell victim to this same ploy and am now regretting it.Let me start with the sales experience...this by far was the best part of the whole thing. The sales rep was extremely helpful and knowledgeable on the product and fitting it to our needs. Once the money cleared the bank is where the issues started.Was told I would receive a phone call in a day or two with my grading and installing dates. This didn’t happen and a week later I had to call and request the installation dates. The dates were scheduled 2 weeks from when I called. The first install date was for the grading of the yard for where the pool was going. These guys showed up after the appointment time, but showed up none the less, and completed the job. Then the pool installation date was scheduled for the following week. Of course, it just so happened to be scheduled during one of the tropical storms we received in Eastern NC. By no means is this their fault but the installer drove all the way to my house, in the pouring rain, and left half of the pool and equipment is my yard. So during the pouring rain I now have soggy boxes all over my yard. After waiting and receiving no phone call, I had to call them back a few days later asking when the rescheduled install date would be. It was pushed for over a week away. Then here comes the second tropical storm. But the installer did show up and started the installation of the pool right before the rain came. But because of the amount of rain he wanted to install a good product and didn’t want to do it in the rain. I get it, I wasn’t happy being pushed out again, but understand because of the rain. The installer took the initiative and rescheduled me for the following Monday. This was very good since I didn’t have to call the store and find out my next date.Now, Monday come around and no installer. Our install time had come and gone with no sign of the installer. I called the store 3 hours after our install window and was told he was en route. About an hour later I get a call from the installer (now 4 PM) and he states he is just now starting another job and would not make it. At this point, I’m wasn’t happy and very frustrated. According to the store, I was supposed to be his second appointment of the day and they had no idea why he didn’t show up. The installer would not answer his phone to give any clarification so I was pushed off to another date.Finally we get the pool installed and it looks great. We filled the pool with a foot of water and let sit for 24 hours as instructed. All is good. Then we fill the pool the rest of the way. Once the water got to the skimmer I started to see leaking from below the skimmer and noticed that there isn’t any type of seal on the bottom, so the water is just leaking out. The lid for the skimmer doesn’t even fit the skimmer housing. Plus all the fittings on the pump and filter have leaks too. I called the store...multiple times..with always saying “we will call you back,” but never actually calling back. They could not give me a time for a service call to repair this issue. So, I just have water leaking out of my pool with no idea when/if they will fix or repair.The package that I purchased was supposed to come with startup chemicals. Well, all that entails is 2 bags of shock and a bag of salt if you get their permasalt system. The permasalt system requires a total of 1000ppm of TDS or Total Desolved Solids. One bag of salt will not reach that goal in the pool that I purchased and requires at least 3 bags. So the “startup chemicals” is not accurate. They also didn’t even leave the one bag of salt as promised.

These guys were so helpful. I bought a house with a hot tub in it but had no experience with them. Walked in, they gave me hot tub 101, and hooked me up with the right chemicals. Great price, friendly service!

I purchased a 24 x 24 above ground round pool from Backyard Leisure over the summer 2015 (BEST DECISION EVER IF YOU HAVE KIDS). We had the best experience. I had so many questions, and the entire crew there are so very helpful and fun..... Jamie (sales Rep), actually help me decide on the round pool, which I am so glad she did because it looks great in my backyard. The installation crew came and was very professional, they installed the pool within 3 hrs. We are totally pleased with our experience at backyard leisure and would highly recommend to anyone out there puzzled about where to shop for a pool! AWESOME PLACE:)

Been shopping around for above ground pools for a while. Went by Backyard Leisure on a Sunday afternoon to check what they had. As soon as we walked in the store they were very welcoming and happy to help with any questions we had. We left there with some ideas of what we wanted but still wanted to shop around and see what other stores had. Went to about 3 other stores in the area. After a week we have decided Backyard Leisure had the best deals and warranty on their pools. Ended up with buying the St. Martin it took a little over two weeks to get installed the guys came out yesterday did a great job installing and having the pool filled today with water. My wife and I recently bought a hot tub from Backyard Leisure. The staff was knowledgeable, courteous, and willing to work with us. Jamie, Aaron, and Chris were able to answer all of our questions and guide us to the spa that fit what we were looking for.Moreover, the installation team was great. Jason and his team did a great job to get the tub onto our raised screened in porch. This involved coming back a second time (heavy rainfall made our freshly sodded yard too soft), laying plywood on the sod to protect it, and using a Bobcat lifter to raise the spa high enough so it could be installed onto the porch.Many thanks to everyone at Backyard Leisure for a great experience. It was a pleasure to give you our business. Very highly recommended.

Desperately trying to get our Hydropool swim spa that we purchased for approx $17,000 cash from Backyard Leisure in Concord working it’s been five months and we are still not working. Darren came out replaced a part but issues not resolved. He ordered another part early November. Part has arrived in shop before thanksgiving and they said he would be out to fix it but he no showed again. No answers to calls or texts. Luv our swim spa and need it fixed ASAP. Have been hoping to get in since end of August but no luck and it’s now mid December. Please please help!!!Thanks. Pauline

We came to Backyard Leisure after hearing of the great service they provided my sister and brother-in-law when they purchased their pool.Jamie at Backyard Leisure was fantastic. She knew so much about pools and spas and didnt get impatient with my lack of knowledge as this was the first time Ive ever purchase anything like this before. She took my wife and I step by step through how to maintain a spa and did a great job of listening to what we were looking for and didnt push us. I HATE pushy sales people and Jamie was FAR from it! She actually tried to accommodate what we wanted and not just push for the next sale. I wish more sales people were more of that personality. Backyard Leisure installed my pool last summer and now getting ready to enjoy year 2.Selecting a pool contractor is not an easy task - many things must be taken into consideration, but Chris Gainey made the process incredibly smooth.Alberto, the Project Foreman, was also great to work with. He was good at communicating the schedule and what to expect, and was onsite daily to make sure things were being completed correctly and up to his standards.From sales to construction to completion, Backyard Leisure did an excellent job on my pool.

After two years of research settled on bullfrog brand hot tub from Backyard Leisure. We made several visits and found the staff to be very knowledgeable and not the least bit pushy. They even let us borrow a exterior sample so we could shop around town and match a few outdoor accessories

That was a bizarre experience. I have had a pool feasibility study completed for $1500. I have talked to the county, surveyors, etc. I have my septic lines marked. I am an eager customer ready to pay someone to put a pool on my property. I called Backyard Leisure and asked if they can send someone out to give me options based on my topography, existing landscaping, septic etc but the gentleman just flat refused. Instead I needed to bring a survey in to their store to talk about placement. I dont want to waste my time or theirs to look at a 2D drawing to determine if a pool will fit on my property because, again, I know it will because Ive already talked to the above entities who all agree to the affirmative. Im WAY past the point of looking at a survey. Apparently the pool business is booming if it is not worth an hour of someones time to yield an 80 - 100K project.

We bought a 24 foot above ground pool in the Spring of 2015. The team at the Raleigh location are fantastic! They took the time to walk us through all of the options available to us and everything was handled very smoothly from scheduling to completion of the install. Chris and Aaron are always very helpful when we call or come in with questions, taking the time to walk us through detailed instructions and show us examples they have set up on their lot or even online. My wife and I love our hot tub we purchased from here. They put us in contact with the right people to have a custom concrete slab pored, and have a electrician come out for a very reasonable price. Everyone is super friendly and knowledgeable on the products. Highly recommended!!!!

My husband and I contacted local vendors in search of the perfect hot tub, with no success. Discovered Backyard Leisures website and decided to make the 3 hour trip to Raleigh. The store stocks an impressive inventory of hot tubs and can easily boast a knowledgeable and professional staff. In particular, Chris Gainey availed himself to us, answering every possible question. We ultimately purchased the 7000 Elite Spa and could not be happier. We called the store on several instances during the prep work and Chriss advice was spot on, making the set-up a seamless process. The delivery/set-up team were top-notch, careful in getting in the back yard and onto the deck, equally courteous and professional. The hot tub was set-up and filled in less than 2 hours. Great product, great people and great experience!!

Really enjoyed the experience when I purchased my pool at the start of April 2015. The walk around the area and knowledge of the staff was very helpful. When the delivery & install happened for the pool the guys who did it were super nice and when done (under 2 hours), they explained how to use the pump and many other helpful tips. I highly recommend coming here for your first or next above ground pool.

I am very disappointed with the sales team at this location. After requesting a price for a salt water pool and paying $10,000, we got the pool set up and no direction to the upkeep of the said pool. After we have emailed and called several time Emerald acts like we are bothering her with the questions. So we take a sample to another pool place and come to find out our pool IS NOT a salt water pool. I do not recommend shopping at this location.

I recently purchased a Bullfrog spa from Backyard Leisure, and was very satisfied with the overall experience. The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. They helped me pick the right product for me at a great price. I looked around at a few other places, but could not find the type of quality spas that are available at Backyard Leisure for the price that they are selling them. Thanks to their sales price & rebates, I was able to buy an even bigger spa than I thought I could. I love my new Bullfrog spa!

Awesome experience. Purchased the Vita Envie last month. Salesperson was great to deal with.Tried to stop by at 4:59 (closing time on a Sunday is 5pm). The person locking the door as he was leaving, was great! He offered to open back up and ring out the chemicals I needed, knowing I drove an hour to get there.Although out of my way, I will continue to come back due to their outstanding customer service!

I was assisted by a young lady named Emerald. But truth be told she is a diamond. Knew her product lines, answered every question I had. I left with all the info I came for, so I could make a smart decision on a pool.

Very nice people who give you one on one service; they do not treat you like you are customer 68 or ‘the guy who needs water testing over there in the red shirt’ but as an individual….unlike the other pool place in Raleigh. When they are speaking about their products and services they are actually talking about their stuff NOT what the other guy does wrong / doesn’t have / etc.Backyard Leisure installed a 30 foot above ground for me in April (weather was finally warm enough to swim in late May!). There was a minor problem I attribute to the pool shifting when the tanker truck(S) filled the pool (have a well and did not want to burn up the pump) causing a couple of the corners to kind of buckle at the bottom as I think they shifted slightly. Emailed Backyard Leisure a few photos and they were out the next day and corrected the issue even if they were booked a month out for installs. In my opinion it is not a problem that defines a company (heck mine might have been unpreventable) but how they respond and I feel that their response left nothing to be desired.

Best in the triangle area. I have gotten both a spa (six seater) and a 24 foot round above ground pool. I think times, the were always on time. Very professional, staff is not only friendly but very knowledgeable. Great prices, awesome discounts for loyal customers. I can only speak great things about these guys!

We purchased our hot tub last winter and had the best experience. I am in the process of draining it and still 9 months later we get the same great customer service we got when we bought it. They are always willing to answer questions and help when needed. Great investment for our family with a great company. THANKS!

Very disappointed!! We sold our pool table and required that the buyers hire a professional moving company to move it since it requires special care. On moving day, three guys show up and one of them is wearing flip flops (first red flag). Our pool table was located in the bonus room on the second floor and our staircase makes a turn at the bottom. They carried the slate out in pieces like they are supposed to. However, they then decided to try to carry the rest of the 9x5.5ft table down the stairs in one piece! They scratched and dented the railings, scuffed the walls and left holes and gouges in the walls and ceiling!! Once they realized they werent going to make it down the stairs, they took it back up and disassembled it like professionals would have done in the first place. We had to putty and repaint the walls and ceiling and just live with the dents in the railings.Unfortunately, we were not the party paying them so we couldnt ask for a refund or anything. Now we are out the cost of repairing the stairwell. Maybe they are better at handling pools and Jacuzzis but I definitely would not recommend them for billiard services!

We just had our 24 above ground pool installed and Backyard Leisure did a great job! The installers were very professional and accommodating to our needs and questions. The process from purchase to installation went very smooth. When we call with dumb questions they are very eager to help and make sure we have the answers we need.

My liner had a hole in it upon install & they handed me a patch kit. Since then I have had 3 other leaks in the liner that I have had to repair myself. The pool gets light use. This pool is only 2 years old & Im already sick of repairing the high quality liner - I already need to buy a new one. Also, the initial installation process was FAR from smooth.

Very Disappointed. We purchased our pool here last month, and the day after it was installed we had issues with leaks coming from the filter system. We called Backyard and they said they would have someone from customer service contact us. After waiting a week and not hearing from customer service, we called back and again they told us someone would call to schedule an appointment. Needless to say, after calling 2 more times and not hearing back from anyone, I called and spoke to Ryan at the store. He promised to follow-up with customer service and get back to me the next day. I never heard back from him. I waited a few days, called back and spoke to Chris who said hed have Ryan call. Ryan did call my husband, apologized that no one from customer service had contacted us and that he would have one of his own guys come out by 6/15/18 to look at the issue. It is now 6/16/18 and no one has contacted us. We realize this is their busy season, but at least have the common courtesy to call and say you cant have some out here when promised. I will not recommend this company to anyone.

We ended up at Backyard Leisure (Raleigh) after looking at spas at three other stores. It was worth it! Chris was very professional and and enormous help in choosing our Vita Prestige. The electricians did their work this morning and the spa was delivered later in the afternoon. The installation crew was super and very friendly. Overall, a very satisfying experience. Highly recommended!

I purchased the St Thomas 24 above ground pool from the Raleigh store. Jamie Scott and the sales staff are GREAT to deal with. There was no pressure to purchase, very professional and extremely knowledgeable. The Grading guys and the installers did a great job on the install.Excellent pool buying experience! If youre gonna buy a pool, Backyard Leisure is the place.

Ive been wanting to purchase a hot tub for a while and finally this spring got everything together to do it. Its definitely a process and investment in time and money, from finding a hot tub model to placement to getting an electrician to water chemistry and everything in between. My husband and I visited several area dealers but ultimately bought from Backyard Leisure in Raleigh.The biggest reason we went with Backyard Leisure is that they carry Bullfrog Spas. The best part about Bullfrog is that you can pick out exactly which massage jets you like. This is different from other hot tubs that have fixed jets... Bullfrogs have JetPaks that are interchangeable. The plumbing is also much less complicated and should be less prone to failure. Chris G. was our salesperson and was very patient and explained all of the differences in features between the models. He was fairly low pressure but do expect some salesmanship. We decided to leave and do some research on our own.We went in the next day for our wet test, which is pretty weird because you are shirtless and in your bathing suit in the store but I dont think Id buy something so expensive without trying it out first. They have an area in the back that is darker and blocked off for privacy. Chris swapped out all of the jet packs and kept track of what we liked and didnt like until we narrowed down the ones we liked most. Again, this is a huge selling point because we only got the massage jets we liked, so every seat feels great. We took some time for lunch, came back and bought the A7 model, for what I felt was a fair price based on my research.The tub was delivered about a month later. The installers were very efficient, and the lead installer was almost as anal as I am, helping to get the placement perfect. We also used their recommended electrician who was reasonably priced and did a great job.Finally, I am new to hot tubs and their chemistry. Backyard Leisure does free in-store water analysis and Ryan (the chemistry guy at the store) has been really great in helping me understand and balance the pH, alkalinity, bromine, etc. in the tub. Im still getting the hang of it but Im sure Ill be able to get the help I need from the guys at Backyard Leisure.Thanks guys. You made our first hot tub purchase a great one. Really appreciate all the guidance and help.
