I have been going to audiologists for nearly 60 years and found the best ever. Dr. Mello is a rock star. She listened to my issues, gave a test, and made adjustments to the hearing aid so I can hear in different situations. As a result, this is the first time I have ever worn a hearing aid so consistently.Lastly, the customer service is prompt, friendly and professional. I can not all for anything more from a great group of people.

I am writing my first review 1 year after my initial visit. After going to other doctors offices and being told that my hearing was fine, I finally found an office that would help me with my hearing problems. It took one visit for testing and an initial fit for a hearing aid. I was treated very well by everyone at the office. They took a long time with me at my initial exam to dial in my concerns and give me options for my hearing problems. I can now hear just like normal. In the office, on the phone, at noisy places. I went in with muffled hearing in one ear, and came out with both ears feeling so much less congested and able to hear clearer out of both ears thanks to wax removal. Very friendly and professional staff, the office was clean and had a lot of space in the waiting area to feel comfortable waiting to be seen (even though the wait time was less than 5 minutes). After treatment, I was sent home with a product to help eliminate the need to come in for what I initially came in for. You can just tell that they really do care and want to help, and CAN help! Raleigh Hearing and Tinnitus Center is owned and operated by Dr. Sheri Mello. I have been a patient of hers for 20 years. There is a reason. Shes knowledgeable, friendly, patient, and truly interested in improving your quality of life. Oh, did I forget to say that shes always right on the money with my scheduled appointments? I never wait more than about 5 minutes!

Ive been going to Dr. Barker for several years and she has been wonderful in helping me find the best fit hearing aids for low frequency hearing loss, and also to help manage tinnitus. Dr. Barker has always been a strong advocate for hearing health and has been a source of strength, comfort and knowledge in my own personal journey with hearing loss. I was very happy to learn they now offer on-site testing for cochlear implant candidacy. Recently I met with Dr. Patz for my own cochlear implant candidacy testing, and Im really excited about the next steps with the surgery consultation. Dr. Patz has been another warm, friendly and helpful source of hope for my hearing journey. Im so happy to work with this team of knowledgeable, patient and caring doctors.

The staff were friendly, informative, and actually fun to work with while being professional. Testing was well explained. Interaction quickly analyzed my level of understanding, and therefore their instructions and explanations. Testing was customized for my needs. Results were conveyed in detail and a plan forward explained. One of my objectives for each professional visit is to learn something new. Mission accomplished. I have even recommended their Conversation vs. Background Noise Test to several of my friends.

I have had hearing aides, which I purchased from RHTC, since 2015. Whenever I needed an appointment for follow up or tweaking, the Center responded with immediate attention. The staff are very attentive and responsive to my situation and individual needs. The atmosphere is enjoyable and the staff are accommodating to deal with whatever hearing issue you are facing. They keep trying until they make it right. The center’s approach is,” how can we make you hear better?”. They are tuned into the latest technology and have an excellent choice of hearing aids. The Center’s continued service and support has greatly improved my quality of life.

I had a great experience. I went in for a hearing evaluation. Dr Mello explained the procedures clearly, including what insurance covers and what it does not, and what would be helpful, versus what tests exist but I may not necessarily need to pay for; and also what to expect for each test. She provided me answers for what I had been experiencing, and also information for things I could do at home. I waited for my appointment 5 minutes of less. The office manager was friendly and helpful in scheduling my appointment. Highly recommend!

My experiences at RHTC have been excellent. I needed an evaluation for hearing aids and tinnitus, and was nervous about the whole process. However, I was so glad I came there, even though I drive from Cary. Dr. Mello spent much time and effort setting me up for a loaner hearing aid to try out for 2 weeks. They seem to operate on the principle of whatever it takes to get perfection with my hearing. This was especially important because I have severe hearing loss and tinnitus. I interacted with all 3 audiologists (especially Dr. Barker) and they are all excellent. I also was surprised that my insurance is accepted for the hearing aids (not true at some other places) and their pricing is transparent and seems competitive. Even Lisa the office manager is a pleasure to deal with. I would give them 10 stars if I could.

For years I have been suffering with a hearing problem..Depending on the pitch of a persons voice; Ps,Ts, Vs, Sounded similar, Sometimes my friends, knowing that I had a hearing problem instead of facing me or talking loud enough so I could hear and understand what they were saying,,They would get annoyed because they had to repeat themselves. Great experience with Dr. Barker. One of the things that I most resoected was that she said she didnt think I needed hearing aids yet, so I am waiting. A lot of places, at least I understand, try to sell you the hearing aids regardless, as it is a high profit item for them. Her thorough testing gave me a good baseline for future monitoring of my hearing condition and I have confidence that her recommendations are not clouded by financial motivations.

From beginning to end my experience was seamless and awesome. Terri, the rep, was enthusiastic,professional, compassionate yet personable. I am age 93 and have purchased 6 sets prior. RH&TC have outstanding facilities, the absolutely best equipment and Staff to properly test your hearing. Your best chance for the PROPER hearing aid and no doubt support is to find your way to Raleigh Hearing and Tinnitus Center, 10010 Falls of Neuse Rd., and forget all the newspaper advertising and offers from others.

Dr. Mellow is a professional audiologist with extensive background in the hearing aide industry. Her training, experience and knowledge prepare her to address complex hearing problems with the best technology available. She represents many brands, so can recommend the product that best meets the needs of the patient. She is a good listener as she probes to diagnose hearing loss and the effects it has on quality of life. Though highly skilled and professional, she explains the technology and physiology understandably and makes excellent suggestions to address the issues. Patient satisfaction and excellent customer service are hallmarks of her practice.

This is a marvelous practice. I have hearing loss in one ear from childhood and then a surgical correction from 30+ years ago that had lost its effectiveness. I had a prior hearing aid that was well out of date, and was thrilled to find the new hearing aids were more compact, more featured, integrate with my iPhone, and are much more comfortable. The advice about selection and use was excellent. Theres no pressure for sales, and no hidden fees. If you get a test and dont need a hearing aid, theres no worry that youll be pressured to get something you dont need as can happen with some storefront hearing centers. Id dealt with audiologists most of my life, and this is the best practice Ive ever encountered.

Everyone at this office is extremely helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. They are also very understanding that this is a large purchase as well as a tough decision (for a guy at least) because we often dont really want to admit that we need them. That being said, their low-pressure sales were great for me. And yes, my wife was right; I needed them...

Quality products and outstanding service. Staff are friendly, professional, and patient. The receiving unit on my hearing failed over the weekend. I walked in today without an appointment and explained the problem. They replaced the unit without charge. And I was in and out in 15 minutes.

I was using Nano sound amplifiers for a year and although the technology is well adapted for those with mild hearing loss, they did not fulfill my needs. There was still too much background noise to fully hear all I needed to hear.I have enough hearing loss that I needed real hearing aids. I have worked with Sheri Mello before my last aids went missing. I am back and am so pleased to be having her and Raleigh Hearing and Tinnitus Center working with me again. Dr. Mello was thorough in determining my need, both medically and financially. They have a loaner program while you wait for permanent aids and a leasing program which offers office visit when needed. I am very pleased with helpful and cheerful people and the very clean facility.

Currently consulting with Raleigh Hearing and Tinnitus Center due to husbands tinnitus and lack of satisfaction with local ENT. We have found this group of women to be experienced, knowledgeable and informative in hearing disorders and various hearing aids. I would recommend them above my local ENT that husband has seen for the last 2+ years. Local ENT was quick to push meds and other medical procedures to possibly cure/manage tinnitus including steroid shots. Also, ENT sold only one brand of hearing aid and provided very poor on service, programming, and maintenance of hearing aids to maximize benefit of hearing aid expense. It is worth our 2+ hour drive to visit Raleigh Hearing and Tinnitus Center. I would definitely consult with Raleigh Hearing and Tinnitus Center before purchasing any hearing aids.

This is the only place I go to for my hearing aids. Ms Mallow is wonderful. She explained everything to me and when I left I could hear and I was a happy lady.

I went to Raleigh Hearing to see if I could get my phonak hearing aids adjusted because I was displeased with their performance. I saw Dr. Saranne Barker who did a series of tests that I had never had done before. She was able to increase my ability to hear by 100% as well as tone down the squelching of the hearing aid. GREAT JOB Dr Barker!!!!!!!!!!!!

I could not be more pleased with our experience with The Raleigh hearing and Tiinitus Center. Dr. Mello is so patient, thorough and kind. The entire staff is very helpful and warm and the office is beautiful with new, high tech equipment.The audiogram provided was very comprehensive. I think this is a great test for teens or anyone who is a musician, attends a lot of concerts, uses, headphones, etc. It is great to have this baseline information. Dr. Mello also tests for sound sensitivity in addition to hearing loss and explains every step of the comprehensive testing in a way that is understandable to all. I highly recommend this practice to anyone looking for a hearing specialist.

I am the owner of a pretty bad hearing loss in the higher frequencies that is difficult to correct. Apparently, in order to get the necessary power for me to hear, feedback through the hearing aids occurs and is a bear to work around... HOWEVER, due to the professional expertise of Dr. Sheri Mello, coupled with her true compassion to help her patients, I am hearing the best now that I have for several years. Dr. Mello has gone far beyond what is usual and customary care in my case and has worked very hard to find solutions that would help me to hear and understand better. People who do not have a hearing loss think they are helping when they speak more loudly. Unfortunately, at least for me, it isnt a volume issue, it is an understanding issue. Sheer volume doesnt necessarily help.Because Dr. Mello has experience from both the manufacturer and patient perspectives, she is well versed on available technology, and understands how to best utilize that technology to work best for her patients. There are many options available today for people with hearing loss to hear better. There are advertisements in the newspapers almost on a daily basis. There are also options at big box stores who have gone into the hearing aid market because there IS a market. BUT, in my experience, there is a lot more than just price to consider. Big box stores and others DONT always offer the best technology that is available in a practice, and they CANT offer the expertise and compassion that Dr. Mello does on a daily basis. There is an old saying that you get what you pay for. In the case of Dr. Mello and Physicians Hearing Services in Raleigh you get far MORE than that!
