I went to New Direction Family Law for a Prenup. Everything went smoothly from the initial phone call to final documents. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and responsive to all questions and concerns.

Going through a divorce was exhausting, heart breaking, and draining (personally and financially) but with the expert guidance of Ms. Stephenson i knew I was in great hands. Thankfully, New Direction Family Law and all of their associates provided safety, care, and were incredibly attentive to my needs and concerns. Fizzy was such an amazing advocate and communicated with me regularly. They all do a great job in explaining the process, sharing options, and describing in regular plain-speak what to expect. My husband contacted NDFL a little over a year ago for a consultation with Carly Baker regarding child custody and visitation with his son. We live out of state in WV, and his child lives in Raleigh with his mother, so obviously good communication was very important to us as it just wasnt as easy for us to come into the office and do in person meetings. We immediately liked Carly very much, and felt she was very straightforward and practical, but also optimistic about my husbands case, and we got the impression from the beggining that the entire office was going to be efficient and very easy to work with. He had a few other consultations, but no one else made as big of an impression on him. He chose to retain Carly. From the get go it was very clear he had made the right choice. Carly was steady and reliable, while also being willing to be bold, and truly caring about his cases outcome, and his and his sons relationship. She and her paralegal Rosa had extremely good communication with us, we were never left in Limbo wondering what was happening, they were always prompt with not only responding to my husband, but also with communicating with opposing council. When Carly accepted an offer from another law firm, our case was transfered to Chris Hicks, and again, we had another great experience with Chris and Rosa. We were concerned about switching lawyers in the middle of the case, but they both did their best make the transition smooth. We also felt that both of our lawyers and their paralegal Rosa honestly cared about where and how our funds were being spent, and they did everything they could to give us the best value for what we paid them. From having Rosa prepare as much as possible to save on the hourly fee, to being straightforward with us as to what actions made the most financial sense while still being aggressive with his case, we always felt their billing was very fair. The entire firm, from the receptionists all the way up to the lawyers were always on top of their game and so nice and receptive. Both my husband and I are incredibly thankful that he had this law firm on his side, and we would recommend them and both lawyers to anyone needing a family lawyer in NC.

Chris Hicks was fantastic to work with! He was always responding quickly to all requests, which is a rare find with lawyers. He also had excellent turn around time with writing up legal motions, and all things were very well written and detailed. He was on time and ready for court proceedings, and seemed to have a good rapport with the judge - a very valuable thing when trying to have a case go your way.Id highly recommend working with him if you ever are in need of a solid family law lawyer.

Like many, I never thought I would be in the position to seek counsel for separation. They were very helpful & very eager to get me justice. I will be working with them after the holidays. They honestly care unlike my lawyer before who just want to drain my bank acct. Very professional and friendly practice. They helped us getting temporary custody of our grand child and where with us every step of the way. I would highly recommend Sarah and her team. I was told she has not yet lost any of her cases and she didnt this time either. Any of my questions or concerns have been quickly addressed each time I had to reach out. The entire process is handled with respect and they do understand that having to deal with custody issues is a sensitive subject.

They got the job done but sloppily. I had to call them to get an update on my service after two weeks when I was told that they would have it done in a week. Never got any replies to the emails I sent them and I had to call them twice to get back my refund check. The refund check came back with no mention of services breakdown to justify such a small refund.

My husband & I needed to file for emergency custody of our grandchildren. We were not sure who to turn too or how to even proceed with such a situation. We are so BLESSED to have found Sarah Hink! Sarah filed for an emergency custody order, we had our grandchildren back in our arms safe and sound the same day! I just received a very unprofessional and sarcastic call from this law firm. They were pressuring me to release them from an on-going case. When I started asking questions the lady became angry and short with me. When I asked for time to consult with my attorney the lady started talking down to me and told me that they had to submit a response now. I told them I do not consent to the release because I’m unaware of my rights. Ultimately the lady said very sarcastically for me to “Have a NICE DAY!” and immediately hung up on me.Not sure what kind of operation this law firm is running but it’s not customer service focused. They could have taken a few minutes to discuss my concerns and the outcome would have possibly been different. The overall lack of professionalism and apparent foresight to remedy this before having an immediate need today is not something I should be burdened with.

I worked with Elizabeth and Fizzy. What a team, they are always on top of what is best for the client whether we actually understand what is going on or not. They are very patient and explain the processes you will be going thru and always have time to lend a listening ear.
