Honestly, having just moved here I was a bit skeptical about going to an all new barber. I decided to give this place a try and was extremely satisfied with my experience. Both of the barbers inside were friendly and I enjoyed chatting and laughing with them as I got my hair cut. The barber who did my hair and beard continuously showed me what he was doing and ensured that I was getting exactly what I wanted. 5/5 will definitely be going back in a few weeks.

Ignore star rating, but Ill say this. I was going to stop in for a cut and bring my cousin along, but after reading the owners unprofessional and immature responses to any criticism on this page, Ill pass. Ive never seen an owner who takes pride in his business respond in this manner. As a business, negative reviews are inevitable. People are people and sometimes theres no rhyme or reason for the review and other times the criticism is valid. You can control your response to criticism and learn instead of lashing out. I am extremely disappointed, especially after being referred here. Seeing the owners behavior has ended my desire to step foot in the shop. Please, do better. We need black owned businesses that operate with excellence in all matters.

Barber talked on his phone the whole time. Barely showed me my hair in the mirror and left the top completely uneven and didn’t even style it up. Also charged me $30 which is double the price of a normal haircut and said I was required to buy a mask but the guy next to me wasn’t even wearing one. Don’t go here if you want someone to care about the quality of their work.

Cute lil shop. I found this when I googled black haircuts. My husband was in need as we were out of town and were glad this shop was available. Prices were on point, service was great and quick and the Barber did his THANG!! My husband and I loved his fade. He was super clean. Smiling all the way to the airport and back to Minnesota. I’ve been a customer for around 4 years now. I used to live off of Hillsborough, but now I drive from Cary to come and I pass by a lot of other barber shops on the way. I’ve yet to have a bad experience. Barbers take their time and have always been very receptive to input. I believe a regular men’s cut without other services is around $25. Cash Only. They have an atm on site If you need it.

This review is after going to this business for ONE and FINAL visit. I wouldnt even let them cut my dogs hair...... First and foremost, being new to the area I reviewed local barbershops, and this one for some reason had 4.7 stars with 200 reviews so I figured it was pretty good, but of course I was wrong. After I received an overpriced, half complete, mediocre haircut, I read the reviews and to my surprise some of the reviews (The 1 star reviews) were commented through the Owner (I emphasize OWNERS because owners typically carry pride in their business but apparently it is just not there with this one) using laughing emoji as a response to individuals reviews. This is childish, unprofessional and problematic. That is your first sign, they are not serious.Second, my barber had some of the shakiest hands I have ever seen when he was lining up my beard which is a huge red flag. At times I began to feel it was his first day on the job and I was tossed to the new guy. This is the worst place. I made an appointment with them at 9am. When I went there the door was knocked and no one was there. I waited for several minutes and still no one appeared. I called later to ask why they were not there for the appointment. They asked me if I was going again and I said no. Then when I asked why they were not there they just hang up the phone!!

Charged me $20 and said they charged me more because i got a specialty haircut. When i asked what specialty haircut did i get, the owner, Anthony, said i got a fade. So apparently a fade is a specialty cut in Raleigh. Im from NY and never had to pay more because i got a fade. Strange thing is the client next to me, who was black, paid $10. Guess i had to pay a white tax for using a black owned barbershop.

They also prepped the shop for covid, and they check your temperature at the door. Im a loyal customer and their prices are very reasonable.

Awesome place. Been here twice now and very happy with the quality. I also really like how they have an ATM inside in case you forget cash (there is a $2 for withdrawals and it’s only in multiples of $20). The barbers are cool and they chat with each other during the cut. I trust the guys there and I highly recommend.

Stopped by here for the first time after work the other day just based on the convenience of the location— I didn’t have to make an appointment and was seen right away. The barbers carried on lighthearted conversation and the place is a very relaxed feel to it. Anthony cut my hair, and my favorite thing about this cut that stood out above all the mediocre-to-decent ones I’ve gotten in the past is this man really took his time—not in a bad way either. He kept an eye for detail, was in no rush, and went over every spot until the fade was just right. Might be the best haircut I’ve ever gotten, and as a college student (with a financial situation similar to most college students) I thought the cut was very affordable. If you’re in the area, or a little further away, I would absolutely recommend this place regardless of what kind of hair you have. There’s a reason this place has been around for more than a decade!

I have been consistently going to this barber shop since my freshman year at NC State. They have never failed to give me a good cut and make me feel welcome while doing so. The atmosphere is great and the barbers are hilarious (“what are you referencing? your hairline?” 😂😂😂). Prices are good! Will be returning here as long as I’m in Raleigh.

Took my two boys and both granddads here while visiting. They all looked great! And the two barbers were so fast! I was shocked that all four were done, including their beards in less time than it usually takes our regular barbers to do two fades.Prices were great and it was a comfortable spot with complimentary beer and water. The boys loved the 80in flat screen.

I dont usually give reviews but this one warrants it.Paid $25, the website says haircuts starting at $10 (that is for kids). $15 is for basic haircut, add $5 for better sides, $5 more for better top. They didnt use straight razor for me.My sides look good (as they should), but the top of my head has uneven hair lengths. Some hairs are longer, some are short. The barber picked up a trimmer and just ran it over my hair.I am waiting for my hair to grow a little, so I can get a haircut again.Edit (in response to owners comments):Your website says haircuts starting at $10, there is no mention of kids on the website. That is what I pointed out.I dont mind the cost as long as I get a good haircut. I realized how bad the haircut was when I got home. I apologize for not checking my hair thoroughly for an uneven cut, because usually I trust the barber with that.I have modified the review with more details but I am really disappointed with the way you have responded. At least accept a bad review graciously, and seek to rectify the problem, ie, the haircut. Instead you are more focused on what I can and cannot afford.

I hadnt had a haircut in around 2 and a half years so I did my research before coming out, and lets just say I wasnt disappointed. If youre in need of boost of confidence or just to try something different, ask for Anthony.

Great place to get a haircut! I am from out of town and needed a great professional haircut for my internship. The barber knew a good haircut and did just that. Very pleased except that it is only cash.

I came in with a mop on my head, told him what style I wanted and he cleaned it up and made me look professional. Staff is friendly, knows what they are doing, and also plays some good music. First time getting hair cut outside of family and I will be back.

I took my 2yr old son here after finding our other barber was closed on Fridays. My son desperately needed a cut and I’m not from the area so I found this shop via google. I entered the shop and was greeted by Anthony. He sat my son down and asked what I wanted. I showed him and he got going. One thing that really impressed me was how personable Anthony was with my son. He has hated getting his hair cut but Anthony would explain everything to him and assure him it was just a little more and how great of a job he was doing. Anthony was very precise with his work and made sure my son’s hair looked clean. It was a great experience. We were in and out in about 30 minutes and my son wasn’t traumatized. Anthony gave me a card before I left so I had it to make future appointments. While we were shopping later that day a young lady stopped me to ask who’d cut my son’s hair. I handed over the card with Anthony’s info. I’m so glad we decided to give this place a try and will be coming by for future cuts!

This past Saturday was the first time I visited College View Barber Shop. I went there to check out the new Stylist of Hair Serenity, Tasha Henderson. She has been a hair stylist for over 16 years and can style all types of hair. Natural hair, relaxed styles, color, long or short hair it doesnt matter she can do it all.When you walk into the barber shop it has a very inviting atmosphere and Corey the owner is a very skilled and experienced barber. Ladies and Gentlemen if you are near NC State and you are looking for a new barber or hair stylist this is definitely where you want to go.

While slightly intimidating at first everyone at this establishment has always been welcoming, accommodating, and professional. They are in a good location, have great hours, with good parking considering. Ive yet to regret a cut here and will be coming back as long as Im in the area.

The haircut was ok at best. I liked that the person cutting my hair asked questions and genuinely tried to help, but they also didnt seem to know what they were doing. The wait was over an hour, so that was disappointing, especially because the website says that they want appointments. I tried to make one, and they sounded confused when I called and they never answered my email. Also, was charged twice as much as for the same haircut at other places. Not sure how this place got 4.8 stars.If you want haircuts of this quality at 1/5th of the price, go to Great Clips.

I get my haircut here, every 2-4 weeks when I can, and Corey the owner always does an amazing job. He takes time to get to know what you are looking for and listens to what you want and makes adjustments from there. He meticulously works through each part of your head to make sure its perfect. The place is clean and close proximity to NC States Campus. Though I always take pleasure in wearing my ECU shirt in there. Whoo praise God! Saturday night I cut my own hair and completely ruined my hairline. I absolutely couldnt go into work on Monday looking jacked up. I slid into college view literally 30 minutes before close for the first time desperately looking for help. The gentlemen not only masterfully repaired my hairline, he took the time to educate me as a young self taught barber on how to better cut my own hair. Peaceful clean environment, with the most skilled barbers on this side of town. Students, professionals, business owners, I recommend this shop 10 out of 10...7 days a week!!!
