Scandalous ThievesI paid in full not weekly and my son broke his arm and missed 11 weeks of his classes. Im a single parent and I directly afterwards had to have major surgery which is 8 months of recovery time. They wont refund over $300 due to this unfortunate unforeseen events and told me I should be happy to know that he can come back and complete these classes at anytime because our money will be on his account forever and there is no way to refund it. They stole from us. Its not like after a year his uniform will fit which would be more money they would take from us, Or that he may even still be interested. Its not like I paid weekly and he just missed classes. This was all out of our control and the complete heartless treatment we received is completely discouraging to even put my children into anything like this again because life happens and you just wouldnt expect to be out of almost $400 on top of all the trauma our family has already endured. They are scandalous Thieves keeping our money on an account that will never be used again. Unprofessional. Ive never been cheated out of so much money before. Dont send your child here. If you by chance have circumstances happen like my family did they will just keep your money and not give a damn about your family at all.

Not a ton to say specifically, theyre a really great karate studio and a great group of people. If you have any inkling of wanting to do martial arts then I strongly recommend going here. Enthusiastic, supportive, and a lot more practical for the average person learning martial arts then most of these places tend to be. Something I really valued.Only Con in my mind is know ahead of time its like most martial arts places, their business model can be a bit pricey Id say, but theyre at worst industry standard in that regards. Id say they come in quite a bit on the cheaper side, but at worst theyre standard. Youll get that anywhere though in the martial arts world.

My son enrolled in the program less than a year ago. He has made great progress in the areas that we wanted to focus on: respect, taking direction, and focus. In addition to being a great outlet for physical fitness, he is learning lessons that he will carry with him the rest of his life. The instructors work with the parents on the goals that we set, and then work the plan to achieve these goals. Our family is very happy with our decision to enroll in the program.Kristine Heveran

Both of my children have been enrolled here for almost one year. The staff is amazing with all of the students. They really care about the whole child, not only their skills in karate, but also their emotional development. We love watching our kids grow in skill and self confidence. I recommend Black Belt Karate Studio 100% for any child, any age.

My grandson has been going to Black Belt Karate Studio since February and I have seen a change in him. He has more confidence in himself and that I like to see. He wants to go to classes everyday if he could. As a grandmother all I want to say is keep up the good work to all his teachers .

Good place to have your bank account tapped out and they are great at teaching your children that if you pay the money, you can get the next belt. Just the standard pay to play martial arts school. Dont let them fool you into thinking that you will learn true martial arts ideals. Once you sign the contract they will tell you how they have no control over what happens. Shysters is what they use to be called. Very sad that they are allowed to run a school the way they do. I guess that is what you get when you hire MAIA to mentor you. Cookie cutter karate in a box. Do your research and save your kid from gym class in a gi. Very sad

My experience has been wonderful from the first day Ive had my sons evaluation. The whole staff is wonderful. The kids are always a priority. My son has gained a great deal of self confidence and respect for others. I highly recommend BBKS.

Our daughter has been attending since 2012 and has come such a long way in discipline, technique, socially and much more. I LOVE my karate studio! the classes are fun, physical & a good way to get frustration out. I was getting bullied & my mom put me in classes a year ago. Black Belt Karate Studio is an excellent school for learning martial arts and the culture of martial arts. The instructors, in addition to being very knowledgeable, use humor and patience to bestow both life saving self defense skills and traditional martial arts forms to their students. An excellent school for gaining confidence, martial arts training and weapons training.

Black Belt Karate Studio is a huge asset to the Racine community. In addition to having an extremely talented head instructor, the senseis regularly teach an anti-bullying curriculum at local schools. The owners also hold special fund-raisers for important causes like finding a cure for breast cancer. On top of all of this, my children and I have received an excellent education in martial arts.

This is my sons first year in karate and he loves it... Happy he has found an interest other than video games, lol. And being an only child it gives him something exciting to look forward to. Thanks again...

My son has been going to Black Belt since February and absolutely LOVES it. He is doing amazingly well and the teachers and staff there are outstanding. This is a great school for both kids and adults. The senseis relate really well with kids and can teach with out being intimidating. For the adults they create an inclusive atmosphere so you are always learning regardless of your skill level.

My daughter has been going to classes at BBKS for five years and still looks forward to coming to class each day. The instructors are highly motivated and make each class fun and beneficial. I have been taking their Cage Fitness class for almost four years and am still seeing continuous results in my physical fitness. We absolutely love it at BBKS!

I have been here since 2009. It has been so much fun and I have made so many new friends. I was shy and didnt want to be in front of people it made me be more confident and not be afraid to be in front of large groups.

Love sending my son there, the senseis are very patient with the younger children and always help to engage and reengage your children. The kids seem to love it there and are always smiling and having fun. The classes are well organized and they always seem to maintain the attention of the children. They also have a good ability of sensing when someone may need more one on one attention and help with that (and they have the ability to because in the younger classes they seem to have at least 3 ppl on the floor), which I was most concerned about.

We LOVE BBKS!!! The instructors are amazing! My husband, daughter and I all take classes there and could not be happier. I would highly recommend BBKS to anyone looking for martial arts training.

The instructors really focus on helping the kids, and challenge them to get better. They get real self defense skills, and also the focus and training of katas. The sensei(s) make it a point that everyone gets personal attention, and everyone tries their hardest.Weve been really happy with our experience here.

I am a 65 year old senior citizen that got involved in BBKS when I went with my 6 year old grandson to the Fathers Day event last year. I have been a member for a little over a year the instructors have been helpful, instructive and understanding, they always are there to help you if you dont understand what you are working on and they stay after if you need extra help or if you would like to record the kata you are working on
