Historical, charming, romantic, picturesque, spiritual, most of all BEAUTIFUL. Attended a wonderful wedding reception at the DeKoven center. The beauty of DeKoven was the perfect choice to celebrate their new lives together. This was the first time my wife have been here but it will be a place we plan on visiting more often. I truly recommend that if you have never visited this historical location you must see this institution. What else can I say? Google it.
DeKoven Center is a beautiful location for your wedding. Whether you choose to have your ceremony indoors, or outdoors, you can expect to have charming, beautiful ambiance. The gardens & grounds are always well taken care of, and you just cant beat having historic buildings as the scenery for your wedding photos!
Great art fair. Beautiful place to have it.
The grounds are beautiful with a stunning view of the lake
A great place for events.
Cannot recommend DeKoven enough! We held our ceremony outside in September 2020. We could not have asked for a more picturesque venue. There are so many amazing backdrops to take pictures! We worked with Jenna, who was not only extremely responsive, but very patient with us as things changed due to the effects of Covid. She was extremely accommodating and helpful as we navigated our live online ceremony for our guests outside of immediate family. Our day was beyond perfect thanks to her and the DeKoven Center.
Went to the art gallery and got 2 amazing pics for the house! AMAZING!
My daughter had her wedding reception here, the facility is perfect, staff is amazing. We wanted to go past midnight as it was New Years Eve and Samantha was very accommodating to our requests. I cant say enough about the entire team. Made our event amazing. We also attended a wedding at the DeKoven Center yesterday, and once again the team did not disappoint. If there was one thing Id complain about it would be the limited kitchen facilities. Makes things harder for caterers.
Just beautiful! ❤️
DeKoven Center is the epitome of heaven on earth The food could have been a little better but the atmosphere is fabulous.
Horrible Property Management/Customer Service for renting apartments, 3rd person who is moving out due to constant issues and unpleasant communication attempting to resolve issues
The Dekoven center was amazing! The staff is great and was very helpful and quick to respond to all of the questions that we had. Their pricing was very affordable and included a lot of things that other venues did not.
I was a part of a wedding party for a wedding with ceremony and reception on the grounds. The land and buildings are beautiful! Although I was very disappointed at how hot it was inside the building along with half of the guests. Many were so hot they chose to leave the wedding many hours early.
Henry, the master gardener, really knows his stuff. The gardens are stunning! The director, Max Dershem, is a wealth of knowledge.I highly suggest setting up a tour. ~So much to learn!
Retreat and religious conference center overlooking Lake Michigan amid a scenic, but unkempt woods, with Senior apartments that used to be better for the high rents, with even a Buddhist monastery and Zen garden on the premises, though the DeKoven Center is associated with the Episcopal Diocese of Milwaukee--this complex has seen better days and the surrounding neighborhood, despite all the pretty trees and the bluff-top lakeshore local, gets more and more run down, year by year.
Had my wedding here. Beautiful Lake view, Sam and Mandy did a wonderful job with all our questions. The great Hall fit 175 people easily and was a great time.
Attended a wedding here recently and the grounds and facilities are GORGEOUS. My only complaints are with the strict guest number limit and the shortage of parking. Later arrivals had to park on the street outside the grounds and some people parked on the gorgeous grass.
We visited the DeKoven Center this past summer as a possible venue for my wedding. While the grounds were beautiful, the woman showing us the facility was quite rude. When we were leaving, she reached her hand out to shake my hand, my fiancés hand, and my fiancés mothers hand completely ignoring my mother and father (the ones that would be paying for the use of the facility!!). Could not believe how extremely rude that was. It also seemed overpriced for what youre actually getting, especially when compared to surrounding venues. We ended up finding a different place to host our wedding.
Quiet rooms, comfortable beds, good scenery.
Been to a lot of different events here. My brothers wedding was by far the best event I took part in. Staff was amazing!
Incredibly beautiful, romantic and picturesque setting for a wedding and reception.
Great food and the personnel were very friendly and professional.
Very nice place to visit for the history aspect. In regards to booking for events I would avoid as they seem to nickle and dime your for every other thing.
Beautiful venue for any wedding or event
Friendly, helpful staff.
Place is not marked clearly at all. Walked around for half an hour
Historical building that used to be a college that one of President Lincolns sons had gone to
Is this place abandoned
