**Update** I dont know if it was the email I sent them or the two phone calls but I received a call and they scheduled me. Stated they were having staffing issues.They havent been out to our home (Bonney Lake WA) since the end of June. Called about a month ago and I was told she would let dispatch know and I believe mentioned she would give me 50% off my next lawn treatment. My account still doesnt show when the next service will be. I really love my lawn when they have been here, but if they are having an employee issue, let us know so we can treat our own lawns.
My first year with them was Amazing! Healthiest lawn I’d ever had. But year two not so much.
I had used TruGreen in the past in Texas and had recently moved to Washington. I couldnt get my lawn to do anything and it kept dying. They have come in with a care treatment that is enhancing my existing lawn. Now all the weeds and moss are gone so hopefully as I reseed this fall it will take off next season.
This place is a fraud. Used them for a year and they randomly charged me for a double service without any notice. They claimed it needed a moisture control to help against drought, they applied it at the end of August… after doing research on the product, it needed to be applied in early spring. Users beware, once they get your credit card on file for “easy pay”, they feel it is ok to complete services outside your pre-arranged agreement.
Beware, this may not be a legitimate business. Much like the other recent reviewers the only customer service is overseas and they have nobody to escalation to and have very little knowledge. They have scheduled us twice now and nobody has come out and nobody notified us that they werent coming. Twice now we have waited around at home during their five hour arrival window and nobody has showed. I am now sitting on hold for over 20min for a third time only to speak to someone else who yet again will probably reschedule us only for nobody to arrive. Total waste of our time and were very disappointed that they took our personal information, credit card information, and yet never contacted us. Whats the deal with this company?
Where have you been?! You havent been out to my house since March. My May and June applications have been mysteriously canceled. No one at the local office answers the phone any more. Calls are always routed to offshore call centers where women at home with foreign accents in foreign countries tell me they cant escalate calls because theres no supervisor to direct me too.Ive been a customer of yours since 2001 because my yard is in a neighborhood with bad weed problems and the applications have helped control them.To be honest, I have experienced scheduling issues with you guys in the past few years but is has NEVER been this bad. In fact, searches on the net have revealed that this appears to be a systemic problem with the company. Maybe corporate decided to make some changes in scheduling and billing due to Covid but it appears to be failing everywhere. People are missing appointments and getting billed for them anyway.I know that middle managers are stuck when the higher ups screw things up like this but youre going to lose local customers if you dont fix this.
Yesterday I found one of your people that helped themselves into my backyard. My dog wanted to tear him apart. Ive never heard of your service and it turns out he was on the complete wrong street. Next time, try knocking on a persons front door.
We’ve been a customer for a couple years now and keep having issues with them coming when they say they’re coming. Last year, they tried to say they came and did the service, but they did not. We had proof also (hello, security camera!!) They usually come in April, but it’s mid-May and they haven’t come yet. We’ve called several times and they scheduled a day but didn’t show. So they rescheduled for a different day, still no show. If we hadn’t prepaid for the service, I would be canceling and going with a competitor who’s more dependable. IF they actually come and do the service, it works, but the fact that they’re not dependable and seem to have no respect for peoples schedules is incredibly rude. There are other companies out there who WILL perform a service when they say they will, unlike TruGreen.
~$2,000 in, I have broadleaf, clover, thistles and a couple of other non-lawn plants throughout my yard. I asked at least three times to talk to a manager about the condition of my yard and have not received a call. It seems like a lot of money for no results and no response. I’ll be looking for a better service.
I hired this company actually I typed in Scotts Lawn care and this company came up thinking I was hiring Scotts I accidentally hired them. My mistake. I hired them because I was not going to be able to care for my yard pro a period of one year or so. So I hired them to maintain my yard reseed and fertilize. My yard was green with single blade grass. After a year all I have in my yard is grass that in on a round shaft and and is not what I believe is what a residential yard should have as grass. Tehy are supposed to fertilized my grass. They fertilized the side of my house with spray up to five feet onto my exterior wall. I complained about thier servide and twice they told me they would have someboduy call me but nobody ever called nor left a message. This is the worse lwan service company you could ever get. They are probably good for mowing pastures. but other thatn that they are worthless
Chem Lawn had me pre-pay for a year of service for monthly maintenance. Since November 2020 (and today is June 24, 2021) they have come out twice. I called on June 16th to cancel my service and request a refund. They said they would process, to date I have seen no refund, and when I called again today, she was friend apologized that it had not been processed and offered to re-submit. Lets see what happens?

#1, the Customer Service is Horrible! When you try to call your on hold for over 30 min and end up talking to someone in Georgia that could care less about you and where you live. #2 When I finely get through, they said they just forgot about our service and it was skipped! WHAT! #3 There is NO follow up and trust that they are doing what they say they do to my lawn. The last time they were out they only did half my lawn after watching our outside video cameras. They need to get their act together and become a real true green company!
I purchased yearlong monthly treatment. Well, it’s august and they have been here 3 times. Tomorrow will be the 3rd time rescheduling a treatment after 2 times of technicians “not being licensed” to treat weeds. I have spent a crazy amount of time on hold. This is so not worth it. I’ll do it myself.
Ok, so our yard is huge. Almost every time without fail we would get some young guy who would show up at 4pm and say which yard is your, we respond with all of it... and then he would be there until like 7pm treating our yard. Our yard looks terrible because it seems they have certain areas. We now have spend thousands to get it to look good again. Also if you want to speak to manager they will take like two weeks to get back to you and you have keep calling. It seems like the only thing they care about is getting your money because they have no problem to call about that.
We say an add on facebook about the service we entered our information at 4am and between 7 to 7:30am we get a call and it was True Green the sales person lead us to believe that we would get everything we needed. They do not do what they say.
Booked them to perform a lawn aeration. They took the money out of my account a month ago and still have not come to perform the job or called to schedule when they will be coming out. Not a great experience so far.

Brand new yard put in, super green no weeds but scheduled this company to do monthly spray applications in hop to help the yard stay that way. After the first application the entire yard was dead after a week. Stay away from this company

Very happy with lawn treatment. Our lawn had been unattended for a few years because I was caring for my Mom. We had a terrible problem with weeds and Tru Greens lawn service really helped. We have a huge corner lot so when our lawn looks great its great advertisement for Tru Green.
The whole reason we used this service was to prepare for our wedding at our house. We did not receive a single complaint about mosquitos. Last year at this same time we could not sit outside for fear of being eaten alive. Definitely recommend!!

Trugreen sprayed our next door neighbors yard in Tacoma, WA on May 21st while the wind was blowing hard in our direction. The spray was drifting into our yard where we are growing an organic vegetable garden and also nurturing honey bees.. We asked them to stop and they ignored us and kept spraying. They should never be allowed to spray when it is so windy!
Winter grass is slowly becoming winterized. No growth, just sleeping.Weed and moss controlled was applied .
I moved into my rental house in July of 2018 and the yard had not been tended to for a long time by the looks of it. Weeds and completely dead. I watered and cared for it and by November, had recovered the front yard about 70% but the back yard had grown in 95% plush green weeds...almost zero grass left. I started the monthly maintenance plan with TruGreen in March of 2019 and after just 2 visits, I saw major improvement. After 4 months, my lawn was 90% rescued. After 6 months, I had a full, plush, dark green yard with zero weeds and they have kept it that way. They send alerts every month before they arrive with a time and day they will arrive. If you are not home, they assess the yard, do just what is needed, leave great notes, give tips on what you can do to keep your lawn looking grest, and do a wonderful job. I have nothing but good things to say about them and highly recommend them. They have completely saved my lawn and my yard looks fabulous year round now. I am a new customer this spring. I called the office to schedule service after not hearing from them for a long time between treatments. They set a date for the next service and no one showed up. I called back to ask why and no one seemed to know. The tech that does the actual work told me the lime treatment I asked for in the early spring hadnt been done and that I should call the office to schedule it. I told him I did order it when I ordered the service. He said to call them back and schedule it again or it may not happen. Im also waiting for the ant and insect killing application. I told them not to call me to try to up sell more products when I signed up for the service or I would cancel. I got a call last week from the Puyallup office trying to up sell more services when they havent even done what theyve promised to. Very poor service and response to concerns. I do not recommend this company.
The service techs were fine, but this company knows less about lawns than I do. Now I cant cancel. How do I cancel? I keep being transferred. My next call will be to the Attorney General to file a complaint.
Trugreen said they guarantee their work. Evidently, this is not true. I dont know what qualifies or disqualifies a customer from their satisfaction. Customer satisfaction is not at the top of list. I called TruGreen to inform them that weeds where coming back. The gentleman told me I had to pay for another month to get them to come back to my house. I informed them that I have paid them every month for the last 7 months and my satisfaction most certainly falls in line somewhere in these previous payments. The gentleman stated that this matter is non negotiated. I discontinued any services TruGreen has to offer. They didnt get it right the first time and you me to pay for it again? I am in a HOA and my neighbors will be aware that this is usual business practice for TruGreen Lawn Care UPDATE: I replied per your request. If there is a resolution or not I will update it on my review.
I have been using TruGreen since 2015 and my lawn has been green the whole time. At my last house I did not use TruGreen and the difference was obvious, lots of weeds and was at best a dull green fading to brown most times of the year.
My lawn has improved a lot. I wasnt really sure what I got myself into when I enrolled, but I am glad that I did. My husband, who I am trying to convince, is very pleased. The grass is a lot thicker and moss and weeds reduced a great deal. But there will always be room for improvement. This is just my first year with TruGreen, so I am expecting a much better lawn the coming year. Not sure what type of grass they put in, but hopefully on the areas that are thinner due to different type of grass, it will change the next time they reseed. New seeds, that will make it thicker and greener, will take over. The specialists are friendly and very professional. The quality of the job done is excellent. They are also very knowledgeable about what they are doing. You can talk to them and seek advise. I cant complain about that. Overall, I am satisfied and hopefully, it will be a lot better as they work on my lawn in years to come.
I was happy with the overall service until we went to cancel after a couple years. They really have some kind of scam going. So we call to cancel in October, but they completely ignore the request and charge us for two more services. When I call to ask about it, the lady says she doesnt see the cancellation call in her notes. I ask her you record all your phone calls right? And magically the NOTE appears where she says oh im so sorry, I see it right here. Then she asks me to pay for the service anyway despite seeing clearly that we called to cancel months ago. When I reply that I would rather not, she says well, can you pay half? Really TruGreen? Thousands of dollars Ive spent over the years, and now youre bartering on prices for services that I did not even want? I angrily agreed to pay half just to be done with it, but the whole situation really turned me off. I expected more from a big company like TruGreen.Heres a warning for future TruGreen customers: When you cancel your service, please make a follow-up call just to confirm. Pretty obvious that instead of cancelling upon request, they are just continuing the service in order to get a couple extra bucks out of your wallet.

I received an application a few weeks ago that was very uneven and left many burnt areas on my lawn, both front and back. Called TruGreen Puyallup who sent a truck out a few days later for reapplication but the technician said he had other applications to do so he didnt have time for ours, but that he took pictures and someone would be out this week. We called Wednesday to inquire about the coming visit and found out they had billed us for the application that didnt happen, didnt have the pictures that were supposed to have been taken, and would call us back in 24 to 48 hours. It has been 48 hours with no call back. Just called TruGreen customer service and cancelled my prepaid service.
Not worth the money. Unless you want weeds... Then its totally worth your money.If your claim to fame is green, weed free lawns, Id hope youd achieve that. After my second to last treatment, I wrote an email in stating I had more weeds in my lawn than Id ever had. The tech came out for my routine treatment. He noted that it looked like no weed control was applied on that previous application. I was told he did a heavy dose of weed control. The pictures below are 2 weeks after that heavy dose. Flags mark the weeds however, I ran out of flags half way through my front lawn. Didnt have enough for the rest of the front, nor the back yard.I called the 800 number asking for a refund. That has to come from the local manager is what I was told. Its been 4-5 days. What did I pay them for the last two treatments for? I want a refund. I can go to Home Depot for $10 and buy a broad leaf killer that will actually kill broad leaf.So, save your money. You wont get your moneys worth, and theyll ignore you until you go away.

Talking to someone who service your lawn helps. Our lawn has improved a lot but still needs some work done due to variety of grass growing on my lawn causing unevenness. I hope they can do something about it but its not part of their service. They will make sure, however, your lawn is healthy, less weeds or moss and grass is growing thick. But other than that...Service is great.
Ant issue. Prepaid and ordered ant treatment..changed date then came day after expected3.10.20:left note on door w/out confirming service order sprayed for insects. not ants. Within hrs after they left.kitchen swarmed w ants...then after complaining. told us next available date was 10 days later. Technician said that order did not specifically say ants. Still waiting till 18th. Very disappointed
Not impressed. Recently signed up but very hesitant due to the reviews . I I already fertilized my lawn and did everything that they would do to it so I cancelled the lawn portion and asked for the spray around my home to keep back the insects. They came out and sprayed however the technician did not spray in certain areas because he said I had vegetation growing and what he did spray caused insects to Scurry into my home which Ive never had happened the mosquitoes did not disappear Im still getting getting eaten alive I have found earwigs crawling on my arms and the worst part as my five year old pup has never had a flea in her life and that she became infested as well as my house I had to bomb and give her flea baths as well as taking her to the groomer I finally got rid of all the fleas I contacted TruGreen because they said that they would come out and respray if it was not effective theyve not been back out yet however my dog got fleas again now its a spray keeps the insects out of your lawn and property stop running into your home, that is not a good thing nor was that brought us when I sign up for the service I will revisits my review after the second spray.

Signed up on July 1, 2017 for lawn and mosquito service at our new home. To get the best deal, I agreed to prepay for the next year, which is fine with me.After not hearing anything for over 2 weeks, contacted them to find out what was going on. They told me they had been out on July 6 for an application. Having had TruGreen in the past, I am aware that you will see a flag in the yard, and usually an invoice or work order tucked in the front door. In addition to this, I am a teleworker and was home all day on the 6th. Also, we have a security camera at the front of our house. They did not show, yet claimed they did and billed my account. Having lost trust, I canceled their service. At the end of the day, this was nothing short of fraud. I would have been OK if they said they were busy and hadnt got to me yet, but they chose to bill me for something they knew they had not done.
We are very happy with the appearance of the lawn and shrubs that are treated. The instructions for early season mowing is much appreciated. Your personnel are always pleasant and informative when we talk with them and have questions. Keep up the good work.
I worked with a representative to request an analysis today and initially had a very professional and courteous conversation. I was informed of all the pricing and service options; I was willing to provide my credit card information to set up an account, but not to commit to charges prior to meeting with a lawn technician. I was unable to communicate that to the service representative as she repeatedly exclaimed but you gave me your card. I reiterated that I was unwilling to commit to charges until i had met with and discussed care with a technician. After a volley of back-and-forth on this with multiple nos from my side I informed her that without an initial technician visit I would have to choose another lawn care company. Instead of addressing my concerns or providing any sort of closure, she hung up the phone abruptly.

This was supposed to be a 29.99 initial application to my backyard. The girl, lizzie said it covered the whole yard so may as well just do the whole yard. We specifically discussed weed killer and fertilizer. The email sent had 10 treatments on it, she said all you have to do is click confirm to get the initial treatment done and see how I like it, also said its not confirming that amount it just lets them know i did my job. Well the bill was $322 not 29.99 plus tax. I am beyond irate as this was a predatory sales move. I did not ask for lime, aeration or seeding, i specifically said no to that service multiple times. She purposely added in extra services and made it seem like a quote and had me confirm the email while on the phone and said dont worry its just a quote for 10 services, we will just bill the 29.99. This is criminal tactics to prey on the elderly who would just pay it and not realize. Luckily I have a great credit card company who called because they saw Tru Green a d wanted to make sure the charge was legit, so what does that tell you?
This local office will charge you for services which were not completed. When you call in about it, they will give you the run around and not address your issues. With less than a week under their plan, they have charged over $300 for a $29.95 start up service. The only amount authorized was the start-up amount. Buyer Beware!!!
If you’re going to be driving a company vehicle, it is expected that you have some common curtesy and safe driving abilities... that means cutting in my lane to make the next freeway interchange and forcing me to slam on my brakes while my ABS engages is NOT acceptable. Not to mention it putts my children and passengers in danger. You need to be reprimanded by the owner. Trugreen driver on the 5S today @3pm ish.
Technician arrived at the appointed time. He noted the beginnings of an ant nest in our back yard and left a note on our report to draw our attention to the location in order to let us take care of the infestation.
You came to my house in McAllister park with a note that says areas of concern ... moss discoloration. My grass is beautiful and I do not need you coming by and letting me know what my yard looks loke. Theres no soliciting here good day sir
Our lawn looks great after the last TrueGreen visit. As soon as we got enough warm and sunny weather, our lawn perked up and looks great. We had some moss in some areas and TrueGreen took care of that too. I would recommend Truegreen!
I put in a new sod lawn last April and didnt want to damage it by improper fertilizing so contacted TruGreen and scheduled their services for lawn care. My lawn is very beautiful and green and I am extremely happy with the results

These guys know the problems, get to the point and save you the time and hassle of buying all the items needed to do it yourself. Also have an app for the service, you get to know when the specialists will be at your house and how much of the fertilizer was used during the process! Great prices, with different payment options as well. Fertilizer contains potassium, phosphorus and nitrogen. Reliable company I’d recommend giving them a call and see how this company can help you! Also if you have any outdoor pest problems they have a solution for that as well! Last but not least TruGreen can take care of the trees and shrubs and get rid of the bugs that enjoy feasting on those beautiful plants!

I started with Scotts (which has been merged into TruGreen now) and Im still pleased with the results. The technician takes the time to talk to me about what my lawn needs throughout the year and why. He recognizes problems -if any- and explains whats needed. He tells me what follow up care I need to do. And answers my questions. And whether Im home or not, he writes it all down. Ive read other reviews and I think some people dont realize they have to do some follow up work for their lawn to really turn out well. For example, after a moss treatment, the moss in the lawn will blacken and die off. This needs to be raked up! (I found a device at Sears that does this. It looks like a small mower, but instead of blades, it has teeth on a spinning drum). After aerating there are dirt plugs that you need to let crumble back into the lawn eventually; or you can hasten this process yourself.You need to water and mow regularly, of course.One of The things my technician told me was that my grass looked torn, and likely the blades on my mower needed sharpening. Sure enough, after sharpening, mowing results look much better.I dont care for the upselling phone calls, but thats what most businesses do. I just say no thanks, or lets give it a one-time only. It is confusing as to where the phone calls come from. This is my only negative, thus taking off a rating star. Id prefer dealing directly with the local business vs corporate office in some other state.
I work at a warehouse where TruGreen Lawn Care takes care of the landscape of the property. Every week i come out for lunch and theres grass all over my car. Youd think that after your done mowing youd blow of the debris off peoples cars also. And now i have dried grass flakes stuck to my car.
I bought my first service application last March. I prepaid for one years service and was told I was to receive 12 applications for a one year total. Cost was 430.00$.. I thought simple matter. They have been coming once a month. Its now Nov/9 and Im wondering wheres trugreen? My wife has been asking me since she is OCD. I called today and they said my service was completed and they were not coming back out. I spoke with Katie at the Puyallup office and she said they dont do monthly applications in Washington state. That service only happens in the state of Florida. I asked her ok then why have you been coming out one a month since March 1st. She studdered and stammered and was hedge hogging around a direct answer. I am thinking trying to get a straight answer I dont have time for this... She was nice on the phone but I was trying to get to the bottom of a crocked trail.. Makes no sense. She offered a couple free services in a couple days from now and once in Dec. And otherwise my service is completed.. I also didnt like the pushiness of a salesman in June for bug service application for 250.00 bucks. I told him too quit calling me every week and harassing me for bug service. I dont know why a company would put so much effort into being a bunch of dick heads.. What did they do?? Put a giant X by my folder when I got pissed and told the dude to quit calling me for a 250 dollar application every week for a month. I live a nice quiet clean life. I never thought ever Trugreen would be pulling this kind of circus ACT. Who has the time.. I definitely have put fourth the effort to relate my experience with who ever is willing to read this..
TruGreen services are great, they accomplish their goals. Should a problem arise, or a question presented, theyre quick to get an answer or resolution.
Not meeting my expectation from picture of lush green lawn of their brochure to real results. I have to do the labor of pulling out weeds and crab grass. I was not informed that they only do chemical applications.
BUYER BEWARE! My experience was that they do not live up to what is promised and the right hand does not know what the left hand is doing. We signed up with them in June of 2017 for moss and weed control. I have invoices showing the lawn was treated for moss on their first visit and my husband was home that day and went out and talked to the guy about when the moss would start dying and what we should do at that point. Mind you, they have been here 4 timrs this summer and my lawn looks awful. They call and leave a message normally a few days before a service so that you can let them know if you want to delay. I received a message on 9/4 that they were going to come out and aerate and seed my lawn. I called the next morning to let them know I did not want this done....well guess what, they showed up yesterday and did the work. I was home all day and they claim they knocked but believe me, they did not. My husband came home for lunch and the invoice was on the doir. I immediately called and they had record of me cancelling the service on 9/5 and admitted it was their error. The charge had not hit my account yet and was not supposed to per the person I spoke with since it was their error. Guess what, it hit my account today for $190.00 and they tell me anywhere from 3 to 10 busness days to credit back. Normal time is 5 to 10 business days and Msnager did his best to get it rushed. They have to make sure it clears my account before they can credit back. Are you kidding me? You debited my account $190 that was not authorized and you think I am going to wait for you to make sure it clears before you credit back? I got my bank involved and they are taking care of it. The worst customer service I have ever received. Then today when talking with a Manager, I find out that he does not show my lawn was ever teated for moss? Said June is not the time of year they do that. Save your money people, this compzny is not reputable in my opinion. Get other bids and read reviews before you go with TruGreen.....and if you do decide to go with them DO NOT give them a debit or credit card. Invoice bill only so that way when they mess up, you will not have already paid them.
My grass was beautiful in the morning. When I came home it looked like someone poured gasoline on it. The same thing happened last fall so they came out in the spring and over seeded. The guy put way too much weed killer down and there are spots of dying grass everywhere. Doing this once I can understand, but twice is a pattern and speaks to incompetence or someone who is poorly trained. I have a supervisor coming out to look at it. Well see what he has to say.
We set up a 2 month treatment plan for 2 lawn treatments and an ariation and seeed because we are planning to put our house on the market in may and wanted the lawn green and pretty. Our first service was delayed because of the snow- understandable but when we had the service done we were charged incorrectly. We had been quoted 50% off our first service. Had to call but that was resolved. Then our second treatment was supposed to be a fertilizer treatment, ariation and seeding all done in the same day. Time passed and they never came. Multiple phone calls kept assuring next week. Finally got told 100% for sure on 4/3 we would get ariation and seeding and a treatment. Only the guy for the treatment showed up. Without asking he put down a lime treatment that more than doubled our quotes price and no ariation and seeding was done. Called customer service and asked why our bill was so high and why the extra service was done without our consent and was told it already been done theres nothing we can do about your $169 bill when you were only quoted at $70 and told our ariation and seeding that was supposed to be done in early march may not happen until June. We signed up for Feb and March lawn care and now being told we might not even get what we needed until June? And we were completely overcharged for a service we did not request. If you want to add a treatment leave it as a suggestion on the slip you leave so customers can get a price quote and decide if the want to. So basically their technicians can add any service they want and increase your bill without your consent and your appointments will be constantly delayed and you will need to call and follow up all the time or they wont show up at all.
Horrible. Great up front sales, but no follow through or execution when it comes to having them come out on the first day..waited over 12 hours and no one called or show up! I will be asking for a full refund, and if this the new truegreen model (they told me since scotts merged) this is unacceptable......So fed up, wanted to meet with them the first day to make sure we were on the same page as to what they were going to do..I have tried 2x to get them out here on days they agreed to and they obvious do not have any sense of commitment to the customer...Just got a call. And said yea we couldnt fit you in, 5 minutes before, called and ask for my money back...oh you have to speak to a supervisor. What terrible, horrible place to do business. Shop somewhere else please. Learn from how I was treated.
