Been working for this temp service since October of 2019. Your work is based on your attitude, work ethic, certifications and access to a vehicle. As an employee of Labor Works, you determine how successful you will be while employed there.Carol, Amanda, Amber and Diana do their absolute best to get jobs out in a timely manner and in my opinion, go above and beyond while putting up with so much headache.I give Labor Works a 4/5 because there is always a need for improvements.
Improvements with staff has made relations with clients as well as customers Pleasant.
I have nothing but positive comments with my experience with the Puyallup LaborWorks Office. I have worked at many other Staffing agencies, and by far my experience with LaborWorks has been the best. The application was simply, and I was offered a full-time, temp to hire job with-in 24hrs. When I do call the office my questions are answered quickly, I have found everyone there to be professional, friendly and courteous.I feel that they do care about me and my employment status. I also know they go the extra mile, when I had a issue on a Friday night after 6 pm, they stayed in the office late and the Manager contacted me herself from her home to make sure the issue was taken care of, and yes I was pretty impressed that people are giving up their time for my benefit on a Friday night. My overall impression is,Sign on with LaborWorks, get work, be on time, do a good job, and they will work hard to keep you working.
Laborworks is a wonderful place to work at. They always try there best to get me out everyday. The people in the office are wonderful and always smiling. And they have been great.
I had a very similar experience when I was working there I was treated horribly just like this Susie Lee lady was saying very unprofessional and they definitely do downgrade on people, and no one took time at all to look into things and see why I was treated so Bad, I ended up having to call the cops, I was asked to leave just because I asked a homeless guy sleeping in front of the office if he wanted a Banana and I guess they don’t like if you get there a half hour early
To people looking to work for or with labors works, I just wanted to say how horribly they treat their employees. They make them work on call 1 weekend a month, UNPAID!! They severely overcharge their employees for health benefits. And instead of teaching employees how to do their job they like to down grade them for not knowing, even though they were never taught. So just be aware of the people youre looking to work for.
LaborWorks as a company is not bad for my experience thus far. Its the office located on Canyon in particular that I have an issue with. This is the worst office in the area hands down and its a shame considering the job opportunities that come through this office. The receptionists are unbelievably unpleasant to deal with no matter which angle is taken unless you jump when they say. Not to mention, at the end of shift when returning to the office to drop tickets to get paid, this wonderful team of receptionists are having a great time hanging out with a basket full of unprocessed tickets. Then when asked when you should be expecting to be paid, you receive attitude as they proceed to tell you that you wont be paid until after office hours. Mind you, I return to the office around 3:45. I just think its rude, disrespectful and unprofessional the way this office is operating. The office on 6th Ave in Tacoma treats me much better.
Big waste of timethe associates present during the later half of the evening are typically kind & courteous but I can’t say the same for the two that initially run dispatch. Very inconsiderate, rude, and judgemental women. I’ve had the pleasure of hearing them gossip as I’m waiting hours to never see an assignment.Additionally, majority of the few positive reviews on here are made by the employees themselves. Don’t fall for the notion that this is a decent temp service. This should be considered a last resort at all times.
This office is the best out of them all. I have been through the auburn office beforehand and almost did not return to Laborworks. I thought I would give another one a try and am very happy with my experience. The staff here are friendly, they tell you exactly what is going on and are very consistent.Diana and Amber open in the mornings and of course are very busy. The ladies do try their hardest to get everyone out and will get to you as soon as they can. They are nice and friendly.Amanda,Kara and now Carol are great in the afternoons. They work to get you on an assignment the night before and will do everything they can to make sure you get paid before they leave (they even will stay later on their own time to ensure you get your money) the girls are very nice and no matter what is going on at the time they insure I am taken care of.If they are low on jobs I’ve seen them call around and call companies to try to get me out even if nothing comes of it.Thank you Puyallup Laborworks!
Worst place to work at. The managers and people at the front desk will harass you if you try to ask them literally anything. I asked what was up with my check that was from 3 days ago that I never received. The lady with red hair at the desk (Diana) gave me attitude and was short with me and not trying to help me out at all. Then she has the nerve to tell me that I have to do everything on my own as if thats not her job already...As soon as I speak my case I have 4 people in the office getting on me and arguing with me, til the point where the cops were called. (Even though I left willingly, long before they came and no violence or harm was ever initiated).Ive been going here for five years now, it just seems to get worse and worse, especially after they hire new people at the office. I dont understand how Eddie can fire someone (me) when he WASNT EVEN THERE TO WITNESS THE SITUATION TAKE INTO EFFECT, even after he calls me the next day and I try to plea my case, all he simply has to say is well I checked the cameras and unfortunately we cant keep you here. WHAT IS THAT!?All in all this is a very disappointing staffing agency. Hands down the worst one out here. And Ive been to plenty of agencies.Diana shows up to work drunk or hungover everyday, real classy and professional place right? 🤔
IVE WORKED FOR LW ON CANYON RD MANY TIMES..IVE NEVER VERBALLY RECEIVED A COMPLAINT FROM A JOB IVE BEEN ASSIGNED TO. YET THE CREW THAT IS GIVEN THE TASK OF DISPATCHING THESE JOBS IN THE MORNING, THINKS IT IS GAME OR A JOKE HOW YOU TREAT THOSE WILLING TO WORK AN LOOK FOR WORK THRU THIS TEMP SERVICE ...IVE BEEN PAID LATE.... TAKEN OFF JOBS FOR FAVORITISM.... DISPATCHED TO JOBS WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE (Then told me not showing up was a No Call no Show)IM CURRENTLY BEING DISPATCHED WITH THESE MARKSON MY Record AN HAVE BEEN TOLD I WILL HAVE TO REPORT TO THE OFFICE ANY ANYTIME I WANT TO WORK FOR LW *(Puyallup Canyon Rd Next to KFC)YET IM CALLED AT LATE HOURS AND ON WEEKENDS ASKED TO DO FAVORS FOR THE LADIES ON DISPATCH, SOO... LETS SEE HOW THEY TREAT ME......
Very reliable, the people there provide great service along with all around ready to go jobs and job opportunities. Also helped with questions that I didnt understand. If you need work or some extra money on the side this place is the way to go.
This can be a good place to work but like every job it has its flaws. They go off the minimum wage of the area they send you. And sometimes you have to to wait for hours to get a job . But the pros are if you dont have a car they find you a ride, they offer flaggers classes so you can do more than just manual labor, and if you need to pay the bills till you find a permanent position, this is the place to go
Great crew in the office...Diane Amanda Kara Drew and Amber all work hard to get people work....keep me busy.
Just a rude staff. When u work of a company they should be able to answer your questions right the first time without having to call 400 time to get the right answer. Theres been a few times I turned in a ticket and had to wait hours to get paid even when I told them I needed the money for gas to get to the jobsite they asked me to go to and was late cause of this and they dock my pay like that was all my fault. Oh Well, I guess if u need money in a pinch this is for you. If not get a real job.
If your reading this review, That means you have second thoughts about labor works. Just go with that and find another agency to work with that will respect and not kill you for peanuts.
Worst labor works out of all of them. I was told yesterday I had a job waiting for me and when I showed up this morning the idiot behind the counter wasted my time ignored me was mingling with others and didnt send me out to work I highly highly recommend going to labor works in Olympia they treat everyone fairly and they dont ever lie when they say a job is available and they will actually go out of their way to put you to work unlike this place
Unfair business practices. Unresolved disputes, according to many workers.
Got hired on to a great company thanks to Drew and Amanda. Very helpful staff and good employment agency
A lady named Diana keeps answering the phone and she is rude and virtually no help at all. I would kind of like to know what im going to be doing for work before i go in but for whatever reason she cant give me a straight answer as to what exactly it is ill be doing. You should really let someone know what to expect rather than have them show up at 5:30 in the morning and potentially waste their day.
Ive been coming to Labor Works, since 2007. The first office I visited was in Tacoma. I gotta say both of these offices were run very poorly, under the worst management I have ever seen. They send us to jobs thats really physical work(which I dont mind), and off the radar. And then there not sure what time most of the jobs they send us to start. I will not give them a good name, or say anything good about them. The managers are very rude & impolite to some of the people looking for work.
Good place to start work and get something better later
It puts a few dollars in your pocket but thats it good in a pinch
Well i did a job for them on a Saturday job and left at 6 a.m.. They told us they barely was able to get $12 an hr for a job in Kenmore. Upon arriving at the job we find out the company was willing to pay us $18 an hr but since we had a ticket through labor works that we had to take the $12 an hr pay. The office was closed by the time the job was over so we are supposed to slip our tickets under the door and wait for them to close out thebtickets on monday morning. The office ooens at 530 a.m. on monday and it is now 10:17a.m. on Monday morning and i still have not been paid. When i called to ask when we was getting paid they responded here in anlittle bit we havent gotten to it yet. After a whole day of waiting to get paid after finding out we either got short shafted on the wage. Or they really didnt negotiate a good pay for us most people who work above Seattle get $15 an hr. At least. You would think that getting the ones paid from the previous work week would be paid out in a timely fashion. I dont really expect anything to be done about this either.
When I first signed up for an assignment the staff gave me a position that kept pushing back the start date, I waited two weeks for this one assignment to start. Then when the day finally came to go to work I get there early and the supervisor asked me why I was there. I told them laborworks sent me and she then called her boss to come up to the front where we were. The manager walks up to me and says yea we cancelled our account because the owner doesnt like laborworks performance so we wont be needing you. I then went directly back to the office and told them about it, they didnt give me a new assignment and they didnt reimburse me for the time and gas that I used to get to the assignment. They tell you that a job pays more just so you will go out and do the job, then when you get paid, the per hour rate is less than they told you. THEN, I called them to ask whats going on and they boldly to my face said that they never told me the job pays more. I took my job ticket in to get processed two and a half hours before I had to go back to the job site. I specifically said I need this processed sooner because I needed gas money to get to work. They waited until the very last minute to take probably less than five minutes to put the ticket information into the computer and made me late for work because of the delayed processing. I also brought in a ticket earlier in the morning after the job assignment rush where there were no other tickets to process and no one in the office to help they still took a few hours to like I said before take less than five minutes to input the information on the ticket. Management is very short with answers and makes you feel like youre bothering them with your questions. There was also an incident where I asked on numerous occasions if labor works was hiring for the office position and I was told no. Well two of the girls just left and I know that they have to give some kind of notice ahead of time. Even though I have 15 plus years of this kind of experience I was never called and or given the chance to apply. When I found out about the positions I asked the manager if I could apply and once again I got a quick very short answer of the positions have been filled. Its hard enough to get by doing same day pay type of work but to be treated like Im less then, like I dont matter to this company is really degrading and really uncalled for. If it wasnt for us workers busting our backsides they wouldnt have a job, heck they wouldnt have a company. I would really think about heading to this office, ask yourself do I really want to break my back for 9.47 an hour then get treated like a piece of shite on their shoe and if they say the job pays more ask for their answer in writing because THEY WILL deny the facts later. Labor Ready is 15 mins away from this office on meridian in South Hill and they pay you the rates that the job is worth. So if its hard and laborious then at least you get compensated for having to break your back. I really dont like to leave bad reviews on places but I think that everyone should know what they are walking into because it is shocking experience.
This laborworks puts me to work every day. Great staff.
Great place to get work, they are nice if you are nice
Lets just put it this way, Im an employee, and when I used to live in Seattle, I would still come to the Puyallup canyon road office
THEY ARE THE RUDEST !! ONE OF THE WORSE PLACES !!
The receptionists,Degrade individuals when they are by themselves or when they think no one can hear them.
I started getting side work at Labor Works about 8 years ago. This location has gone down hill since Heather left and now the new guy Eddie and the 2 girls that work there love to play favorites so if they dont like you. No job. They dont treat people with respect and dont care about the person coming in just filling the jobs and making themselves look good. We all miss you Heather
They work quickly for my fiance
Good service, polite peeps, and the compensation for work was good.
Complete disregard for workers health & safety; Ive worked for this branch for quite sometime and they frequently leave out key details pertaining to assignments. They will do anything to get you out to the job only to find out your health will surely be compromised. Frequent pay complications; and be sure not to use their equipment; on two occasions I was charged for equipment I returned and or didnt even use. I would avoid this entire company at all costs but most importantly this branch.
Very awesome and friendly people.
Its work that pays daily.
The staff their are really rude and Bitter. They brag about under paying people and think its funny. The jobs they send you to are sometimes racists and so is the staff.
I worked there 1st day they f up on my pay
Amandaamd Eddy are amazing!!!
One of the workers there picks and chooses who gets jobs
Rude and gossipy employees
The females who work here are always in a bad mood like someone has done something wrong to them if it wasnt for Eddie I honestly would not deal with them At all they even answer the phones rudely
If u show then u go
Everyday Flagging jobs .....
