An angel I was able to speak with & get insight was Casey in admissions. Being I am out of State and my Mom was transported there from being hospitalized for pneumonia,I had no clue what was going on.Casey was thorough on explaining the facility, insights on the program. I cant thank him enough. Hes on top of his game and got me in touch with the staff I needed to speak with. Nurse Brenda was caring, kind, compassionate & loving. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Appreciate you all!

Riverside Behavioral Center has caring staff, Nancy (R.N), and Karen (R.N.), and Leo the Lion (R.N.), and Stacey (Tech). The technician Brad was so entertaining with his guitar, jeopardy questions, and group meetings that I actually want to go back . The setting is mostly modest, however, the food was taste too, great Ziti. Alexandra (Therapist/Nurse) was very kind. I cant begin to describe how accommodating the entire staff was. Great Staff, Nice Setting, and Good Food. The physicians were experts in their fields. I had a nice emergency visit.

The most horrible experience! Non-responsive doctors and staff with only a couple exceptions. My psychiatrist never even referred to my meds I was on previous to my stay there. So I was given nothing close to the dose of medication needed for sleep. And dear Dr Arthman didnt care. In my extended stay there I was lucky to get 2 hours sleep each night. Despite my complaints to him, he still wouldnt respond. I remember I was weaving from wall to wall as I walked down the hall from sleep deprivation. This was a house of horrors, nothing like a hospital of any kind!!!!!So I got out of there eventually and am living successfully on my own.

They are keeping a loved one here against her will. Staff is rude and never calls back. They give one set of info to the patience and a different set to us. The person doesn’t feel safe there and says other patience are bothering her and touching her inappropriately, We caught the staff, Nicole, specifically in flat our lies / changes in why they want to keep her. We have contacted an attorney and will file a complaint with the state! I suggest everyone else do the same!

Our Daughter has just recently been admitted from the Bay front hospital to the Riverside Behavior Center, and of course we are very concerned for her. However many of the staff have been very helpful, and extremely nice, and seemingly genuinely concerned for our daughters health, as they asked questions as to her background, and previous/present problems. They also let us know how she is doing at various times. Some include: MJ, Vicki, Elle, Casey, Christian, Ken, George, a co-ordinator Chris, to name many who have helped (and I probably missed some). Sorry, but we usually only catch their first names, but they will know who they are!!We are very happy that they seem to care, and were willing to take time to communicate with us. And, Im sure they are very busy. But that is often what we want most, to know how our daughter is doing, and to know that they (the staff) care! Especially things like is she eating & drinking, communicating with others, snd interacting with others (not so much yet😢) etc. A psychiatrist also called, Dr Arias, and he was very helpful. So, despite the negative reviews, with some being realitively older posts, and some newer, we are willing to give them the benefit of the doubt, with a clean slate.Heres hoping they can continue to help her during what is obviously a difficult and stressful time for ALL of us, including our daughter, us, and judging by all of the other comments, all of you!So thanks to all of you who care, and if you ever read this, please keep it up!It seems that I cant post a New Review, so I have to just edit this original post, so you need to read on, if you really want to follow our progress.SO, as a follow up:SoThis hospital has been much more helpful then we expected (after initially reading over some of the former comments). Many of the staff have been very helpful to my wife, and have helped make what has been a very difficult time in our life at least a little easier. They reach out to my wife periodically to keep her up to date with any progress or lack there of regarding our daughter. While that may not sound like much, we are extremely thankful for the occasional updates, especially since we cant see her in person, due to this Covid-19 thing. Some of the nurses have even helped get our daughter to talk to my wife on the phone, which is no easy task, as our daughter apparently has some resentment toward us, as we felt we had no other options but to have her admitted into the hospital out of fear she could/would harm herself further. Its just a minute or two at a time, but it really means So Much! Hopefully Ill be able to talk to her soon as well, but - baby steps I guess.Anyhow, a quick shout out to the following: MJ (female nurse), Elle, Vicki, Chris (a co-ordinator?) Christian, Ken, George, Casey, Dr Arias, and Im sure there are more I missed, those are the names of the ones she mentioned to me that I remember. But, Im bad with names.More importantly we have so far had many more that seem genuinely interested in helping our daughter and us then the few that dont seem to care. So again, thank you all.It seems that these types of establishments dont often get high praise, and Im sure its a difficult and thankless profession, so along with the negative reviews they sometimes receive, they should also receive positive reviews when they go above and beyond whats expected! They sure have high marks from us, if that means anything!10/17/2020 P/S - A nurse (Vicki) was actually able to get our daughter to call us and talk to my wife, and I mean MORE than just a sentence or two! . This may not sound like much, but believe me, that is a BIG DEAL!!Thank You Vicki and MJ, just a shout out for those two (most recently) and all who have continued to go above and beyond to help our daughter, and and at the same time us, especially my wife! We appreciate everything you all do so much. Your concern and help will not go unnoticed or forgotten!Sorry this comment is so long, I still havent figured out how to do multiple comments!

This place is horrible the clerks at the front desk will not let you talk to a nurse. They pass the phone back and forth like two kids instead. I needed to give a primary doctors info to the nurse of a new patient but they wouldnt allow that to happen! Horrible facility

Rude unprofessional staff especially after 7pm. Dirty floors Dirty bathroom toilet nasty full of feces. Cold food. Gave psych meds no problem. Uncaring regarding physical ailments like Hypertension and pain that was inflicted by their staff. Patients yelling for help counting people who were attacking her. Little white women running from 2 white women and two black men I knew her fear. The next day she was no where to be found. Several patients witnessed this. I made sure I didnt say the wrong thing to the wrong person. To feel threatened by the people who are supposed to be professional is unnerving there for causing increased ANXIETY in the patients. Fear of Authority by Charge nurse.

I was forced to go to this place by the hospital. Let me tell you stay far away from this place. Never send your loved ones there. They will not get the treatment they need. They just wanna dope you up so you don’t bother them. The place stinks of urine so bad it’s unbelievable. You also have to share your bathroom with four people. Are you kidding me? There shampoo rips all your hair out. And not only that but they give you no conditioner. I know this isn’t the four seasons but come on. And the staff is not helpful at all. I would say maybe two care but the rest don’t care at all. And a lot of the staff make fun of the patients behind there back. I think the nurses try to help but I also think they try to push pills on you. The doctors talk to you for about 5 mins. So how can they really diagnose you if they spend 5 mins with you. Terrible terrible place. It should be shut down!!!

Terrible place to go to, place smells like urine, staff was poor, only gave me half of my med school, place needs to be torn down. Not a place for someone that needed temp. Care with emotional braked down. Told me I was detained for 72 hrs. But held me for 150 hrs for a non related issue, for 4000 $ a day they will keep you forever if they could

This place does NOT have professionals who know what they are doing. My nephew was there and all they did was prescibe one med after the next. Dr. told my sister he does not know what to do! Not much one on one or group counseling. No activities to keep depressive minds from getting even more depressed. This place is a total joke. They do not care about your loved ones and they will lie to you. Beware.....

Erica and Nicole are incompetent. Erica will lie to family members about how the patient is doing and Nicole was just arrogant.. By far the worst nurses we’ve had to deal with there. The only reason this place is getting two stars is because of Casey, Nancy and Bob. Casey is the only one who will listen to all your concerns and do everything he can to help. The rest of the staff is incompetent and it’s a joke that they work there.

What a bloody nightmare. I got out yesterday from being detoxed there. The psych patients were off the hook, screaming all night long. No one got any sleep. The staff did nothing about this. Absolutely the worst place Ive ever been. Go to the Willough at Naples, Fl. Or the David Lawrence Ctr. Cannot possibly recommend this place.

This place was deplorable! The staff was unattentive and uncaring. I had a panic attack for 2 hours and not one person came to check on me even though procedures are to check every 15 minutes. No one talked to me only gave me a Xanax and walked away. Patients were out of control. The place was filthy and walls were peeling. This place should be shut down!

This place is for the Mentally Insane!! Not for someone that needs immediate help with a nervous breakdown, and adjustments to their meds. They talk it up pretty good when you check in, like a used car salesman, but once you get in, you cant get out for about 24hrs. They didnt give the right meds, didnt care if you ate, didnt give any medical care until 20hrs after entering the place. I could go on & on, DO NOT SEND ANYONE to this place unless they have lost their mind & are about to go to a State Hospital!!! Filthy place, bathrooms in the bedrooms are gross!!! The staff just stood around and laughed at the patients!!! Not expectable at ALL!! They people need help & they could have give a S*#T

Worst experience. The fake there is too much to bear. Every patient that goes in, cannot wait until they get discharged by doctors that hold them there longer than a 72-hour Baker act far too often. I have to write writs of Habeas Corpus to gain my freedom back every time I go in. Ill take them to court if I must to receive my rights. Personally the only true care and friendliness I receive from anyone are the other patients. Usually I need to request cards and other acceptable games from my outside support because the unit doesnt supply much entertainment. Its usually a bored, slow process to be medicated by drug pushers that would rather see every patient dumbed down by their psychotropics. If you want patients to heal from trauma and terrible emotions, dont push them to a breaking point and then act like your not responsible for adding onto it. Ive seen it far too often.
