My sister and I went in with appointments to have a shampoo and blow dry and a Shampoo, Trim, blow dry. When we arrived receptionists advised us that the one lady we had an appointment with was not back from lunch and the other stylist was finishing up another client. We were fine with that. I asked her if the pricing online was correct of 19.00 dollars she said yes and that being my sister was only getting a wash and dry it would probably be less then that. After being put in 5 different chairs another lady took my sister and washed her hair and then sat her in the Stylist chair. ( After waiting 20mins the stylist finally returned from lunch) the lady that did my hair seemed very bothered when Explained to her that I had to use a Sulfate-free shampoo and Conditioner. She advised me that they dont accommodate customers and I would have to buy the shampoo and Conditioner. I refused and advised her that the receptionist (who was super nice and very helpful) said you had Sulfate - Free here. She huffed and puffed for about 5 mins and then asked me to sit in the chair to wash my hair. After having hair washed she brought me to her chair and began cutting my hair after she trimmed my hair she started blow drying my hair. She then took the black coat off me and still continued to blow dry my hair. Then she started trimming my hair again and hair was going all down my back qnd arms then she went an got a white piece of paper and put it under my hair and comtinued to trim it. When all was said and done. We went up to register and the girl said it was a totally of $65.00. I said how is that possible. You said my sisters would be $19.00 or less and mine was $19.00. Which makes it $39.00 plus tax.Well come to find out I was charged and extra $15.00 dollars and my sister was charged an extra $10.00 for length and thickness. This should be told to you before you have anything done with your hair. Especially since I asked when we got there. I did pay it against my better judgement but I will never return to this place again. VERY DISHONEST when you do that and not disclose all the prices from the start.You should be ashamed of your business and character.CUSTOMERS BEWARE!!

I recently started going to SmartStyle Hair Salon in Punta Gorda due to the fact that my favorite stylist started managing their. I must admit I was pleasantly surprised at the modern, clean and roomy salon. All of the stylists were friendly and we all had great conversation! I’ll definitely be back for a return cut. Very pleased with the service there.

It was my first time visiting this hair salon. I was very nervous as there was some worker issues going on. Claire was my stylist. She surely deserves the 5 stars. She was very professional, and cut my hair very much to my liking( and im tough when it comes to my hair) I also had it colored and was very satisfied with the service i received. I will definately be going back to her.

I had a very terrible experience at the punta gorda salon. I will never enter that salon again. Melanie was crude, unprofessional and just a MEAN girl. I have never had anyone treat .me so badly. She needs to go!! The salon would be much better off without her. She was so bad that I told her I would write a review on her and that it would be exactly what she deserves. She laughed at me and said go ahead. Be smart and stay away from that salon. I also read reviews on this salon and they too were not favorable.

They can be very busy at times and low staffed but they do their very best. They are always sweet and accomadating . If they are busy it is hard for the salon employees to know you are waiting so you do usually have to grab one of their attentions but this is due to the poor setup and views of the salon. I get facial waxing done here often and it is my preferred place to go

If i could give this place 0 stars i would. Its literally the worst place Ive ever been to. There may be one decent employee and thats being generous. They are rude and lazy. Ive been there for a haircut a couple years ago and it was uneven amd not even what I asked for but she insisted that it would turn out right when it was finished. I went there the other week for an eyebrow waxing to give them another shot and they were closed 45 minutes early!!! When I called the next day she said they close early when they are slow towards the end of the day. Thats bad business. I dont get done work until 7 730 sometimes. If your hours are until 8 you shouldnt close your gate until 8. And today, I tried again, I went in at 430 when they closed at 6 and after standing there for 15 minutes without being confronted, a woman came up to me and said she couldnt do my eyebrows because she had a client coming in at 5:20!!!! It doesnt take almost an hour to wax a set of eye brows. I am extremely dissatisfied and me, along with my network, will not be giving smart style our business anymore. Its a shame.

After visiting this Punta Gorda location, I almost gave up on Smart Style salons until I found the one in the Port Charlotte Walmart. Punta Gordas location is a real mess - rude stylists and a dirty nasty atmosphere! If I could give NEGATIVE stars, theyd get -100.

I have multiple colors in my hair usually at least 2 minimum. Change the colors on average 6 mos. Sometimes I have long hair but just had it cut twice due to temps in FL Been going for years. Great services

Nancy was Awsome, no one can cut curly hair. Nancy did an Awsome job. She is old fashion cutting. I love her and the way she cut my hair. Spent time blow drying it. Wow beats straining. I have used this salon before with good overall results. First time, the stylist was very good. Second time, she was gone and another stylist had to see a pic of what I wanted. Once I found the picture (took a while), she was able to duplicate it fairly well. Did a little touch up at home, but for the price, I was satisfied. So now, I went back again for a wash, cut, and style. All new staff (again). The woman there (no name provided) was hard to understand as she had a heavy accent, but I showed her a picture of the style I wanted; a layered, shag like cut with bangs. First, she faced me AWAY from the mirror, so I could not see what she was doing. Then she used an electric trimmer (?!?!) and asked if it was o.k. to do some kind of 45 degree cut something... she said that is what it showed in the pic. So I said I guess so? Well, the cut was HORRIBLE. Hair parted in the middle (no bangs), SHAVED in the back, flat and looked like a little boys cut (Im a woman)!!! I was stunned. To top it off, was charged an extra $3.00 for the blow dry (are you kidding me!!!!) and when paying for it, it automatically asked for a tip, needless to say, I left none. Walmart does not own these shops, so I didnt even know who to complain to as this woman was the ONLY one there. I begrudgingly paid and will not go back. Now have to wait until my hair grows out... the stylist also wanted my phone number (why?!), and scrawled down my name, address and phone number on a piece of paper (I gave her my fax #). Honestly... go anywhere else and pay a bit more for someone who has a clue and cares.

Just called for a shampoo & blow dry & was rudely & abruptly told we only take appts for chemical services. A word of advice to the employee with the obvious IDGAF attitude: when a customer calls itd be more appropriate & professional to say Im sorry mam, we dont offer that service. Can I help you with something else?. Not sure why Im so disappointed, its Walmart .. Do they sell/have ANY quality products, services or employees??? Purely rhetorical of course.

Went last week for an ombre color, spent $170 plus a bunch of hair product and my hair is crooked. I posted a picture where you can clearly see that its not straight. Manager was rude when I went back for them to fix it. Wont go here again, would have been better off doing it myself.

Call up saying Ill be there in a couple mins can you put me down. They say were not busy just come in. I get there and theres 3 people ahead of me. They take care of the 3 people and then Im left standing at the counter for about 10 mins with no acknowledgement. Lady finally comes over and I tell her I called. She informs me theyre a walk-in salon and dont take appointments and its going to be awhile till the can get to me.

Obviously I should have taken my son to a barber shop, now I know there’s a reason you take boys to barber shops and not salons.

The prices are fair, sometimes the people arent very happy (maybe just had a bad day) but all in all convenient and worth it.

I hv short hair to begin with gave very clear instructions on my cut and ended up looking like they sat a bowl on my head! Plus they write your name down if u hv to wait yet they take people out of turn. TERRIBLE place to get a haircut!!!!!!!!!
