I am a former patient of Imperial Healing Estate. And the reason I am alive to even write this review is because of the care I received at this facility. I am so thankful that my mom looked at other options instead of just doing what insurance already covered. She knew from her research that the facility that my insurance promoted would not be a healing environment. It would keep me safe, sure, but it wouldnt do much else. She narrowed it down to a couple choices, and settled on Imperial. Every year I celebrate the day I was admitted as the day I started taking my life back. To me, it is far more important than the day I was discharged. Ill be honest that at the time, I wasnt too pleased about it. Nobody wants to be in treatment. I spent about a week telling everyone with conviction that I didnt need to be there, and that its great for other people who are not me. I didnt put effort into therapy and assignments. After that first week, though, I realized that I was going to be there for a while so I might as well try. Because if I truly tried my best and it didnt change anything than it really was useless. I am here to tell you that you will get out what you put in. I worked harder than I ever had before to not just face my demons, but sit down with them and confront them and understand them. Therapy is one of the hardest things anyone can do. But that is also why it can be so life changing. I was there for 8 months, and I saw many other girls come and go, refusing to engage, digging their heels in, and making an absolute miserable experience for themselves. I couldve done the same thing. I just chose to accept and use the resources and tools they provided. For so many years, I didnt see myself making it to 16. I am proud to say that I am in school right now to become a social worker (I felt so inspired by the people who gave me excellent care.I am proud to be an Imperial Healing Estate graduate.

Placing a child in treatment is a difficult decision. You invite their team into your family circle and entrust them with the care of your loved one. I knew what kind of an environment and treatment team I hoped to invite into our family. When I walked into Imperial Healing Estate it felt like a home where my daughter would be kept both physically and emotionally safe. A place where she could learn the skills and tools to live her best life. They did not disappoint. The team at IHE was welcoming, communicative and very helpful. The care plan they developed for my daughter was tailored to her specific needs. They worked hard (and sometimes creatively) to involve all of the family members in the healing process so she could return home to a healthier family with more effective communication skills and better boundaries.I would not hesitate to refer anyone I love to the care of this wonderful place and their skilled team. We appreciate them. They’ve changed our lives and given our daughter mental and emotional freedom she didn’t dream was possible. We love Imperial!

I am the foster parent of a youth who stayed here for 8 months, and she says it was the worst mental health facility she has ever been to. The staff was inappropriate and unprofessional. Their food was restricted and they were told they eat too much if they said they are hungry. When told about concerns, the staff was insincere and gave calloused responses. She witnessed four attempted suicides during that time and still has nightmares about the place. She felt that the staff was condescending and looked down on the clients because of their mental health needs. She often felt blamed and was lied about. Often, patients were put on “silent time” and were not allowed to talk to other patients or staff — sometimes for days at a time. They were scored and then punished if they did talk. Privileges were taken away from patients (including family visits) and the whole house when patients advocated for themselves (e.g. asked to switch rooms). It grieves my heart that there is so little accountability for these kinds of places, and that these injustices are inflicted upon already vulnerable and traumatized children. This is certainly a difficult place to work, and my foster daughter does acknowledge some staff who were helpful (including Ariel, her therapist, Jessica, Daniel, and Rick). But it doesn’t excuse what happens there. Her words: “I really hope that was just a low point in how the facility was being run and I hope eventually they treat the girls the way they deserve to be treated, but no one should ever have to go through what I went through there. And if they don’t get better, they need to be shut down.”

Was able to receive a tour of this beautiful treatment-based home. Home gives off a therapeutic environment focused on wellness, calm, and safety. All amenities that clients could need are accessible to them. The school room has good staff there to aid the clients through their schooling journey. They have additional staff available to process with the clients as needed. Staff were friendly and engaging.

I was a patient at Imperial for about 1 month. Worst 1 month of my life, I witnessed a girl almost succeed in killing herself, we had ambulances come to the estate to help bring that girl back alive. I begged and begged my parents to pull me out of that estate because the staff were horrible. I was put on 1:1 to do everything. I had to count when I was in the bathroom, I had to have staff watch me shower, I had a horrible experience there. I would NOT suggest bringing any of your kids there. Please don’t let your kids be admitted to this estate! It’s a horrible place! If your kids get put on 1:1 pull them out immediately!! The staff have to watch your kids shower! And they watch your kids sleep!! It’s a horrible estate. The fact that after I showered I would have to count until I got my underwear and bra on and then come back out and have the staff WATCH me get dressed WITH THE DOOR OPEN FOR EVERYONE ELSE OUTSIDE TO SEE. When I voiced my opinion to others in the “therapy” time they would kick me out. A girl in the estate continued to harm herself with her nails. My dad barley got any calls from me because the staff would refuse me to get a call with my dad. This is not the estate people claim it to be. Please don’t enter your child into this estate. I have constant panic attacks from people around me doing the same thing the staff did in the estate. This is not a healing environment, this is a home of pain.

Was there for 5 months it helped me get through a lot but there was a lot of bad things that went down and I would recommend it if you only care about your kid a bit and want them to have a really interesting story to tell. Some of the staff were really swag and some were questionable. They also threw away a lot of my stuff on accident when I discharged.

This place was something else, the neglect that the staff and therapists would give was very alarming and scary. The fact that the clinical director (Jennifer) was the most manipulative person I have interacted with in treatment. She would constantly manipulate clients to do what she wanted them to do. Some staff would aggressively interact with other clients and then get rewarded for it from a promotion or raise. A staff member, Amber would constantly bully clients and make them feel uncomfortable. A lot of staff would treat clients like babies and treat them lower then human just because they were in treatment. Staff would put themselves before others. The therapist assigned to me (Ariel) obviously was there for money and the job and that is it. Most of the good reviews on this place are from parents who still dont understand there children. People have brought a lot of terrible things in this building. If you want your child to heal in a safer environment dear god dont send them here. I dont know how this place isnt shut down yet.

My sweet niece spent the better part of a year in treatment at Imperial Healing Estates and, as hard as Treatment is, it was a life saving and life changing experience! She has always been a gentle soul who is very empathetic and easily damaged by abuse and trauma and negative emotions. The Therapists and staff at Imperial gave her a voice. She has so many tools and words to protect herself. They worked with my amazing sister (her mom) in family therapy as well, so they would know how to work together to heal from their individual traumas. And so they could recognize how to help each other when they were back at home again. It is so awesome when they teach me things that they learned at IHE and it has helped me improve myself too. The treatment is very individual as well. Since she had emotional problems but not behavioral problems, she earned many privileges as the weeks and months went on. She is a vegetarian and likes to eat healthy and was able to have a say in what meals were planned and prepared. The staff was always really nice to me and my husband (whom she considers her father) when we would come for visits or to pick her up for weekends at home since we lived close. As tough as the situation was, IHE made it better.

The team at Imperial Healing Estate work with these young women with so much compassion and love which seems to ushers in a feeling of empowerment for their clients. It has been amazing, over the past 2 1/2 years, to watch Imperial help many young women discover who they are.

10/10 do not recommend. This place was honestly not a healing environment at all. The therapists were something else, but nothing about this place was worse than some of the staff who work there. This place was very hypocritical, unethical, and a toxic environment overall. For example, the therapists there would tell us to advocate for our needs. A saying that was often said was the squeaky gets the grease. When the clients would advocate for a need, such as needing a Midol, the staff would say give me a minute and then put it off for hours. I had a staff tell me she didnt feel like walking downstairs to get it more than once. (Thanks Amber.) When we would continue to voice our needs, the staff would write negative shift reports about us, saying that we were impatient. I witnessed many traumatic things here that I feel would not have happened if the staff were more focused on doing their actual jobs. One staff in particular became so awful that MANY of the other staff quit working there because of her. (Hi, Amber.)Overall, there are many better facilities than this place to send your daughter to where they would be more likely to get the help they need.

Imperial Healing Estate... what can I say? If I had one word to describe this place it would be traumatic. I stayed here for about 2 months and it was absolutely hands down the worst experience of my life! (and that’s saying a lot because I was put there for a reason of course) The Therapists are completely undertrained or just down right unethical. Most of the staff were completely not involved at all with the job and were just there to shout orders and put us down. (There were also some really sweet staff so I’m not saying this about all of them) I had property of mine that was given to another patient and they have not done anything to replace or repay me for it. I was under so much stress that I was having pseudo seizures every day which they did not even get me ACTUAL help for until one night I stopped breathing for a significant amount of time. The directors of this place are not only completely irresponsible but master manipulators when it comes to exchanging (or not) information about the patients situation to the parents. I was punished for speaking up for my needs and I was put down for Seemingly everything I said. During my stay I witnessed and heard about plenty of abuse with other patients, but those aren’t my stories to tell. Anyway DO NOT send your daughter here if you want her to get help because she won’t get it at IHE.

I was the second client so I watched the place develop. I witnessed a girl with an eating disorder being forced to eat more than her shrunken stomach could handle they threatened to make her eat her puke if she threw up and when she threw up they made her eat again. The process repeated multiple times. Most of the staff make me angry from the abuse and trauma I endures. (Ethan and Nick)

I stayed here a while and its too bad i have to atleast leave 1 star because this place was the worst possible experience of my life. Ive never been so pushed so low until i came here, the system is completely messed up and unfair as well as unjust. this should not be legal, caused me to be so stressed and scared my hair would fall out, i would not recomend to anyone unless you really hate your child. the only positive side was some good people, other than that i would say it comparable to hell.

When your child ends up in a facility like this it can be a difficult journey for the family. As a parent you pray for help for your child to heal and move forward and grow. I consider myself fortunate that we found Imperial Estates. Jean Gray has years of experience in working with children/adults with mental health and drug issues. She is a no nonsense lady which serves well in this environment. The staff was friendly and always tried to communicate with me in regards to the care of my daughter as best they could. I would recommend them.

I was At Imperial For a few months... I was severely Mistreated, Put on 1:1 for no reason and Eventually kicked out and sent HOME for a suicide attempt, I also witnessed a girl nearly succeed In A suicide attempt. There are Some Okay Staff but otherwise the whole place is terrible. The therapists Do not care About you if its not their hours. I was bullied and no staff cared. So All In All I would rather send My Kid to Provo Canyons Than this place. Never send your Kids here. It will Traumatize them. I still have Nightmares About the place.

My daughter struggled with self worth, identity and mental health diagnosis. As a family we struggled to know how to help her. We inquired into several programs in and out of Utah. After being highly recommended by a neighbor we called Imperial. My daughter was there for 6 months. During that time we had weekly family therapy. The therapists there were very dedicated to my daughter and to treating our family as a whole. I would recommend Imperial to any family who is struggling with similar things.

This facilities untrained staff refuse to do their jobs to handle minors in crisis. Instead, dump them in hospitals and refuse to pick them. They do not provide care plans when they do this and put many lives at risk in the process. Do not let your daughters go here, they will end up abused and mistreated, over medicated and be dumped on unstable medications.
