My daughter was suffering with crippling anxiety and OCD five years ago We were referred to Anna Bella Hagen and after her visit my daughter said, Finally someone understands what Im going through! She received the treatment and tools needed to get better and has continued to use these tools five years later as needed. I have recommended this treatment center to many people who are desperately seeking help and answers. Highly recommend!

Scrupulosity, OCD, and anxiety are painful experiences, but Mindset Family Therapy has helped me develop an approach to face it all. There tends to be a social stigma surrounding the idea of therapy, and there are many who view the proliferation of mental health issues as a pattern indicative of generational weakness. In reality, many normal, accomplished, and successful people struggle with these issues in varying degrees. The people at Mindset Family Therapy understand the nuances of the mind. They are kind, caring, and most importantly, they are qualified. I was hesitant to make the first appointment, but after working with Annabella Hagen, my life has changed for the better. There may not be a cure for these types of mental illnesses, but there are coping and maintenance strategies that certainly provide an avenue for better life management, and in some instances, actual relief.

Annabella helped me so much with understanding not only my anxiety and depression, but also my PTSD and how they all worked together. Im so grateful for her validation and her help. She is truly brilliant.

Do yourself a huge favor and avoid Carolyn at all costs! She’s super rude, dismissive, and invalidating. She couldn’t stop bringing up how I was going to pay as well. Overall unprofessional and a terrible experience.

Our family has worked with Mindset Family Therapy since 2011. I cannot say enough good things about the support, education, and life skills they have provided to us. We learned so many skills about anxiety, OCD, and relationships. Our family has been very blessed by this wonderful team of therapists in so many ways.

This place was nothing short of life changing for me. My OCD and anxiety were crippling, and AnnaBella Hagen completely changed that for me. The tools she gave have saved me, and I still use them to this day, 5 years later. The facilities are nice, clean, and welcoming, and the therapists are the best around!! Would and have recommended to everyone!!!!

I didnt know I had OCD until I started therapy here, but boy do I have OCD! Im not sure what less positive reviews are talking about with ERP because my therapist, Annabella, really encouraged exposures and showed me tons of different ways to do them. Getting treatment here really turned my life around. I recovered from depression because of it. I highly recommend Mindset Family Therapy!

Mindset has been the best thing to happen to my OCD. They use ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) to help manage my disorder. It is pretty much impossible to find a therapist who does this is in Utah. The therapists are also willing to go the extra mile and research new therapies to help their clients. Full Disclosure: it is not easy. The Exposure therapy is difficult, but it is totally worth it. Confronting your fears is never a picnic, but I was really about to do this with the help of Mindset. If I am totally honest this is the only therapy group that I would recommend in Utah or for mormons with OCD. After 14 years of therapy and 6 different therapists, I highly recommend.

I have seen Annabella off and on for the past 7-8 years. She has helped me in so many ways, but especially in learning to manage my OCD. In the beginning, we exclusively did ERP, but as research has progressed, Annabella has added ACT to her treatment approach as well. I’ve been seeing her weekly (and sometimes more frequently) during a recent relapse episode after having a second baby, and Annabella has pushed me to work hard to get better, but has also been compassionate along the way. If there is one thing Annabella knows about, it is OCD and how to treat it. I would highly recommend her and her practice to anyone suffering with OCD or an anxiety disorder.

Im so grateful to the therapists at Mindset Family Therapy for the influence theyve had on my child with OCD. Weve seen a total transformation over the last few years. They gave us tools to help as parents, age appropriate strategies to help our child heal and grow, and so much hope. Its hard to look back and remember how out of control everything felt in the years before therapy. OCD felt too big to manage. Its such a relief to see how far weve come and we feel so grateful for the therapists at Mindset Family Therapy and their expertise in this area.OCD aside, I could never express adequately what a positive influence the therapists here have had on my own personal development over the years. It has truly been a totally transformative experience.

Through my experiences with Mindset Family Therapy Ive gained and practiced invaluable skills for managing my OCD / scrupulosity. Annabella blends ACT with ERP to help patients learn how to live a value based life despite the difficulties they face with anxiety and OCD. By actively participating in the scrupulosity group Ive also developed a great peer network to help support and mentor me. Annabella shows care for the patient while also providing the tough love often required to help OCD sufferers move forward with life!

My experience at Mindset Family Therapy was unfortunately nothing short of horrible. My advice to anyone considering getting Exposure and Response Prevention for OCD, the front-line treatment and gold standard for OCD, is to really make sure your therapist has you working on exposures every week, if not more. I am concerned that this office claims to practice ERP, but not once was I taught how to do an exposure, even when I asked several times to learn how.Mindfulness and ACT skills are fantastic, even lifesaving. But without exposures, they will rarely be enough to treat your OCD (see the International OCD Foundation website). Please hear me out if you are searching for relief from your OCD in Utah. I postponed my wedding because my OCD got so bad while receiving treatment here. I moved to another therapist at the OCD and Anxiety treatment center in UT who was immediately able to help me and relieve the most suffering I have ever experienced. She believed in me and taught me real exposure skills with supporting mindfulness and dialectical behavior therapy skills. She noted that I was a client who was exceptionally willing to do things that scared me and move toward my values, and therefore very treatable with ERP. At mindset, I felt like my therapist gave up on me and blamed me for my declining mental state when it was in fact her responsibility to help me learn to manage my OCD by treating my OCD with ERP as this practice claims to. She also reassured me regularly. This lack of understanding of OCD is deeply concerning to me because it does in fact make the disorder worse. I have since reached out to my therapist at mindset and politely expressed my concerns to her. Sadly, I do not think this exchange was enough to make real changes.I now have my OCD very well managed after getting Exposure and Response Prevention at the OCD and Anxiety treatment center. Sathiyanathan counseling is also exceptional in the area, perhaps one of the best.I am not one to leave reviews, especially negative reviews. I am leaving this because I want to help people searching for relief from their OCD just like I was. I feel your pain! My life was turned upside down because of OCD, and in part because therapy here made my OCD worse. Life is SO MUCH BETTER now!

Finding a right therapist can be hard, but it is especially important for OCD. The people at mindset really know what they are doing. I saw Bart every week for 8 months and he helped me SO much. They also have bi-monthly scrupulosity/ocd support group that is free and a great resource.

Laura Harper is an exceptional person and therapist. I cannot say enough good things about my experience here. I sought help specifically for anxiety that was encroaching on my everyday life and university studies, and Laura guided me through a process of reshaping myself. She didnt do it for me - she gave me the tools to do it myself. Laura is a diverse and open-minded person that really applies her education of practices in a way that fits into your specific life. I burned through a lot of counselors before I met Laura, and Im so glad I finally found her. I am thankful for her every day.

Nancy,I just wanted to say that you were highly appreciated at the OCD conference this year! I attended the ROCD support group and it was the most amazing thing I have ever done. You and your associate Annabella were so full of information that was useful to all of us. I also enjoyed the way you set up the answer and questions, with that little bucket. I hope you both will be attending in Texas next year!

Bart Robbins was my supervisor. His exuberant, fun personality mixed with therapeutic expertise and extensive knowledge helped me with the most difficult client cases. I would recommend him to those with any addiction or anxiety issues in a heartbeat. If he werent my past supervisor, I would go to him myself.

Its not an exaggeration to say that Mindset Family Therapy, and Nancy in particular, changed my life. Ive dealt with OCD since I was very young, but didnt fully understand my diagnosis or even how much it affected my life until I started going to Nancy two years ago. She helped me through one of the hardest, darkest episodes of my life. I now live a full, joyful, and happy life, with OCD. I know how to live with my disorder without giving into my disorder. You will not regret making the decision to trust Nancy with your therapy.

I brought my daughter (then age 10) to see Lindsey Powell at Mindset Family Therapy in December of 2016. She has Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. At that time, she had just finished at an outpatient unit. She attended M-F, 7am-5pm, for 8 weeks because it had become so extreme.Lindsay created a safe place for her to come and be herself, but also knew when it was important to challenge her and help her face her fears. She has given her tools that have been very helpful in working through her OCD and will continue to guide her throughout her life.Lindsay has been extremely important for me. Having a family member with OCD can be very confusing and very difficult. She has given me skills that have been so helpful in building my relationship with my daughter and in guiding me through this very difficult process. My daughter’s progress has been miraculous and Lindsay Powell has been an important role in this process. I strongly recommend Lindsay Powell at Mindset Family Therapy.
