Best place to get an emissions test $25. Compared to other places they seem to always have the best price on other repairs too. My experience with them is that they have always been honest and extremely helpful.

Saw the $25 dollar emissions test sign from the road while on my way to a more expensive place. So glad I stopped! Service was very friendly and warm. I didnt wait, and the test took 5 minutes (if that!) Will definitely be back.

The employee looked at the truck (which wasnt hit too bad, but still had a small dent) and smiled and said dont worry about it. He was so nice and understanding. I had a fine experience here. I got my safety and emissions inspection done and they explained to me that I had my cylinders misfiring so I needed a tune-up. I got the tune-up which, yes hurt my wallet, in particular because I am a college student. It wasnt an unreasonable price. I thought they explained everything very well and were very straight forward. Ill keep going there.

I was looking to buy a used car and it needed a couple repairs. Jose and his team gave great advice and performed in a very efficient and professional way. These guys are great.

I had an issue with my catalytic converter and my usual auto guy does not do exhaust so he sent me to Jims. They were super efficient. They had me in and out for a quote on the repair, which was reasonably priced. Then when I had them actually complete the repair it was done the day of with no complications. It was great to be back on the road so quickly. They did great work and the timeliness was what really impressed me most.

I came here for an emissions test and they fit me in same-day for an appointment. It was a very reasonable price and the service was so fast!

Quick service and competitive pricing. $25 emissions, safety $15, both for $35. Larsens offers $20 emissions but you have to call in advance about a week for an appointment. Overall this place was quick. Their waiting area could use some work.

Ive gone to Rick at Jims Auto for the last fifteen years on EVERY car I fix to get a safety and emissions test because I trust him to tell me if it needs anything I missed and he doesnt cheat to get you to pass. Hes honest and upfront with me and I with him. Safety and Emissions is a MINIMUM requirement for every vehicle on Utah roads and if you have to cheat to get yours to pass this inspection, youre just putting yourself and everyone else at risk. Rick might not score 100% with everyone for his people skills and customer service, but he tells the truth and doesnt sugarcoat the repairs. He has plenty of customers like me who go to no one else but him. He runs a good and fair business. To all those who gave him bad reviews, you have no idea how valuable a good mechanic like him is and you should just stay away so those of us who like Rick dont have to wait. Good mechanics arent cheap and Rick gives away plenty of free advice. I appreciate Melissa his assistant and his wife Christine for the help they give me as well when I check in and out. These guys deserve nothing less than 5 stars. Ive been a mechanic for 35 years so I know a thing or two.

My dad has been going to Jims auto for many years because of the outstanding prices and quick service. Ive now been taking my vehicles there for several years too and I havent found a better price. Once when my husband and I were getting new tires on both of our vehicles at a tire place down the road from Jims, they told us that both cars had something wrong with them, one costing about $800 and the other $350. We then took both of our cars to Jims Auto and the $800 problem was only about $300 to fix, and the other car had nothing wrong with it at all! I would recommend Jims Auto to anyone!

After a small mix-up with the registration of my vehicle, the people at Jims were very helpful and ensured that I felt like they were on my side, which made me feel like they cared more about me as a person than they cared about making money on my vehicle! Based on my experiences here I can say that they definitely have the best ethics of any auto-shop in town! My most recent experience couldve been a nightmare, however, thanks to the the people at Jims, it ended up being a positive experience! Will most certainly be returning to Jims next time I need anything auto related!

I always go here when i need my safety checked off as well as on the spot renewal. The service is great amd very fast. If you make an appointment you can have your car in and out within 20 sometimes 15 minutes. The on the spot renewal is cheap $10 and it is worth doing. Jims is GREAT!The first time I went in there for a safety & emissions, it was super cheap & quick. They even offered to have my car registered right there in the shop! They are authorized to do that! NICE! No needing to go down the street, and waste more of my precious break time!I decided to try them out after Steves told me that I needed a new caliper and some side extra stuff. I called EVERYWHERE - I am not the type to settle especially since they were asking for $800 in repairs (extra whistles included) for something I knew wasnt that complicated.Jims quoted me about $330. I handed them my car, told them how Ive talked to a few shops in the area, and what Steves said that I would need to have done to my car.(Side note: The main mechanic is very blunt and incredibly honest. He is definitely a character that you dont find very often around here. Best part about this place!!!)Once the receptionist heard everything that Steves told me, she told the main mechanic, they laughed and took the time to explain why I didnt need all the unnecessary repairs that Steves was trying to charge me for.Steves seemed to be trying to up-sell me on repairs that I could do on my car, while Jims was only willing to fix what needed to actually be repaired.If you can handle a different kind of character, and the best service around, go to Jims!

I love this place! Ive been taking my car to them for repairs and safety and emissions for years! Rick has a personality you have to get used to, his bedside manner may not be that great up front, but he knows cars and is always giving you options about what can be done on your car for the best value and length of use. My car has over 250,000 miles on it and we always get Rick to do a tune up before we go on a long road trip and have never had a problem. The other thing about this place is that they are fast...no waiting two weeks before the mechanic even gets around to repairing your car. These guys are honest and I really love this shop!

Horrible service. Will definitely not be coming back here, ever. My husband brought his car to get emissions done. He was never able to leave before they blew a radiator hose and it wouldnt turn back on.They didnt even offer to help or see what the issue was. They just closed up shop and called it a day.I dont know why all the good reviews. You would think since they caused the issue they would help by resolving it or offering towing to our regular mechanic.If I could give no stars I would.

They were very fast and efficient, but the thing I loved most was that they didnt charge me an arm and a leg!! They didnt charge me a fortune or try to get me to purchase a bunch of extras. They just straighten a bent muffler pipe and secured it and the charge was $10.68 for labor. I was amazed!! They only charged me for the labor time and not some crazy amount. They are honest and fair!!! I highly recommend this place!!

Ive been bringing my cars to Jims for years, for Safety and Emissions (only), with satisfactory results. Last month, however, during a safety inspection, my emergency brake light was on, so the folks at Jims offered to top off the brake fluid reservoir, to solve the problem (turn the light off); it worked, or so I thought. A week later, I started experiencing major brake problems (my front wheels wouldnt turn); so, I took my car into my usual mechanic (whom I trust completely). He told me my brake fluid was contaminated and most of the entire braking system would need to be replaced. The only plausible explanation I can think of is that the folks at Jims didnt get the right fluid into my brake fluid reservoir, and that mistake is gonna cost me a lot. Needless to say, I wont be going back to Jims for safety and emissions.

Ive always enjoyed going to Jims Auto. Pleasant people and the lady at the front desk is helpful, courteous and nice. Ive only gone for safety and emissions. They are just down the road from the DMV so it makes it very very convenient.

They tell me all sorts of stuff I might need to get done on my 2004 vehicle which I appreciate considering I have no idea how to fix up a car. Im treated like an adult even when Ive got no idea which kind of oil Id want in my own car as well. They can take care of on the spot renewal and explained how I could take my car to the DMV to do some things cheaper or do it with them for a premium and since I hate the DMV and these guys are friendly I ended up opting for them with no issues.

Drummed up issues with my truck that werent there. When I took it to another shop they said that it was fine. They are incredibly rude and unprofessional. They make their money off suckering people into cheap safety and emissions tests and then charging them for unneeded repairs.

Just tried to take my dads van to their location less than an hour ago and the gentleman that we spoke to was very rude. He told my dad to wait for 20 minutes and then they would help him. After 20 minutes of waiting, the guy came out said he didnt want to work on the van without any explanation. Kind of a dick move. So be sure to come in with a newer car or on a good day, otherwise youll get treated like garbage.Thanks.

Terribly rude. I live nearby, and drive past this to/from work almost every day. I had some brake problems and decided Id give it a try. Called in and was belittled and treated incredibly rudely by the receptionist on the phone. Enough to make me reconsider going there, and take my business elsewhere. Called Master Muffler and Brake, night and day difference in customer service. Wont be trying Jims for any future business.

I dont write reviews often and I try to help people out with smaller shops. But these guys are incredibly terrible. Brought our car for emssions testing said my muffler was leaking so Im thinking ok Ill go fix it. Then as Im leaving some jackwad comes out yelling at me that I cant fix it and I have to get a new one. I will never go here again and if you want to be nickel and dime to death by some dip stick that is willing to take advantage of you feel free to hit these guys up. I had previously brought my car here and my wifes the past couple years and to be treated this poorly is absurd and uncalled for.

Honest auto care and franks lakeside service said i needed $1200 to pass safety and emissions. I refused. I took it here where JIm passed me after 150 in repairs and signed me off before the last part arrived so i could get it registered by the august deadline. Won my trust. Saved me 1050 bucks. Nuff said.

This place is fantastic. Most bad reviews seem to be coming from customer service issues or maybe a mis diagnoses which nobody ever gets right 100% of the time.. anywhere.. ever. First, lets keep in mind these technicians arent call center reps at Vivint who are forced to kiss butt or get punished - they are automobile technicians, and good ones at that. Second, lets not confuse being straight forward with poor customer service. If you want it how it is, and want it done well, this is the place. If you want someone to beat around the bush while you eat popcorn in the waiting room, go anywhere else and pay more for it as well. You can expect to find the future version of myself here saying Ive been going to Jims for 20 years one day.
