So I took my car here 6 weeks ago to get some work done and unfortunately the radiator went. Come to find out, the part was bad. Trish went out of her way to ensure I had a loaner car as she went to find a different brand of radiator for a replacement. Just to be sure, Wayne’s replaced the thermostat as well. Thank you for making the job right.

I just relocated to the area, and Im so excited to have found a trustworthy mechanic shop that is honest and upfront with problems, costs, and timing. They are super informative too, which is helpful for a first-time car owner. Trish and Cait were incredibly helpful in breaking up (a ton of) work that needed to be done to help me break my payments into manageable amounts, and prioritize safety concerns. I genuinely feel like this shop has your best interest at heart, and I will most definitely be returning!

I am relatively new to Rhode Island, and the East Coast in general, so I didnt know who or what shop to trust when it was time to have my Buick Regal serviced. After the obligatory googling of mechanics in Providence, I decided to take my car to Waynes Service Plus and I am so pleased I did. Within a few hours of dropping my car off, I received an e-mail and a phone call from Trish with complete inspection results and recommended repairs. Throughout the process, communication was always friendly and clear, and I have never experienced such a high level of customer service from an auto repair shop. My car now runs great, and I am very appreciative of the fine work from the skilled technicians. This is the only shop I will recommend to those in the Providence, Rhode Island area.

I find this service station to be reliable and trustworthy and I have never had any problems following service. You are provided a report that explains any issues and pictures to provide support. This places is VERY useful for what it does... Get your Honda-Acura back on the road!! However, I’m not the best with my money, so this isn’t that. I came in frustrated with a 30yr old Honda struggling to start and keep power, I got a complete I repeat complete online printable, re-visitable diagnostics with pictures of the issues and detailed reasons why they were flagged. I had that car towed to so many shops, this shop figured it out and some. I paid to get it on the road and worked with other shops and local parts dealers to work on the other issues. Again I’m not very good with money but to me the value here is dealership level expertise at a reduced rate compared to the dealers. I will always have them check all my cars and fix major issues the minor things I’ll do elsewhere with a replace it mechanic and keep this shop as my technicians.
Just moved to the Providence area, and I had to get my car looked at for brake failure. Within two days, Waynes had my car fully inspected, and it was the most thorough investigation I have ever had. They took a photo and carefully documented everything that was wrong with the car, as well as an itemized list of what the repairs would be. The people on the phone were as kind and professional as can be. I would highly recommend Waynes to anyone in the surrounding area for their exceptional service.
I went in for just an oil change but they recommended I do a number of repairs on my car after a thorough inspection. They sent pictures of what was wrong with my car, what things should look like once fixed, and explanations of the various parts and why they should be fixed. I had been told that my Prius was in need of a major and costly repair. I brought it to Wayne’s for a second opinion and they informed me that it wasn’t necessary. I received a printout from the Toyota website that indicated the repair was not necessary at this time, as well. I was very impressed with the professionalism and level of service I received. I will be bringing my car to Wayne’s from now on!
This AutoBody shop came highly recommended from a trusted family friend. From the very first phone call with Trish, I found her to be courteous, quite pleasant (in a genuine way) and willing to work with me. Fast forward to last week (when I brought my vehicle in for servicing): Their inspection and estimate was so detailed. They outlined each and every that needed addressing, followed with specific photographs to allow me to understand the problem in a visual way. They itemized the estimate in a way that would allow me to decide which issues I would have taken care of right away, vs. the ones that I may decide to address at a later date. Their prices were very fair, exceptionally thorough and detailed. Additionally, their shop was exceptionally clean. This was a pleasant surprise to me, as I typically find independent AutoBody shops to be not as pristine. This signaled to me that they take exceptional pride in their work and the environment they provide to their customers. Im an extremely happy customer. I was extremely pleased with the work and I know Ill be taking my vehicle back to them in the future. I would highly recommend them!!
We were traveling from the middle of the country when our car developed significant brake issues. Wayne’s squeezed us in the very next day and fixed the problem. Unfortunately a small accident with a wrench took place in the shop, damaging the car. Wayne’s immediately agreed to fix it at no charge. Very satisfied. Also their practice of sending photos of the issues once they give a diagnosis is really helpful!

Amazing service. Never have I been able to call and immediately drop off my car with it replaced by a loaner.Very thorough, trusting, seamless for us not too savvy with cars, and came out less expensive then planned!! Win win.
Service was fast, professional, and organized. However, I had an error code with a water pump on a hybrid, and they checked the vehicle over and recommended $1600 in repairs that didnt address my problem. They didnt quote me on the water pump that was problematic. I gave the error code to the office manager twice, and wrote it on a note in the car for the technician. They did not acknowledge this information and insisted on their own inspection. It was recommended that my vehicle, which just passed an inspection a few months earlier, needed brake pin lubrication ($200), headlight restoration ($175), and an invertor pump ($800) which was not the same pump that needed replacement. I went here based on the positive Google reviews but I ended up paying $160 for an inspection that was really just a crummy upsell. (My name is not what I used at the repair shop.)
I only trust Wayne’s service Plus with my car. They hands down are the best shop in Rhode Island. And their customer service is exceptional! I was given a rental car while they worked on my car over a long holiday weekend and they checked in with me frequently to give me updates on my car. Everyone at Waynes was very helpful and friendly. They did a full inspection of my car at no cost and helped me find a way to make the repairs I needed to pass the state inspection at the most reasonable cost possible. They also helped me create a plan for other needed repairs in order to keep my 13 year old car going as long as possible.
I had the best experience at Waynes Service Plus. They fixed my exhaust problem quickly. Very happy with the service! The Plus is definitely for customer service. Trish, the owner and Megan at the front desk are always professional and courteous. They gave me a loaner car so I would not be inconvenienced even for a day. My mother went to these guys and fix an issue with her power steering. It was leaking fluid and she would have to add more power steering fluid regularly. So they decide to replace the power steering pump but tell her that this might not fix it, well turns out they were right. It didnt work. So instead of trying to figure out what the problem was they just charged her for service she didnt need. If you are still going to go here and have AAA they offer a discount but will only offer it if you ask for it.
Love the detail when inspecting my vehicle and giving me a breakdown of what needs to get done. Ive been super impressed with the way Waynes has been handling their business and customers during this COVID19 pandemic. They are taking all the precautions when working on your vehicle, including: pick up and drop off from your home so you dont have to leave your house, sanitizing all door handles and steering wheels after they work on your car, and giving discounts and free services to healthcare and essential workers. I got my car towed here by triple A without knowing how busy they were. I was informed they couldn’t take my car until Monday. I told them I couldn’t stay due to my line of work and needed to find somewhere else to go. Despite me saying this, the two women in the office ensured me they wanted to help anyway they could, offered me a consultation over the phone to ensure wherever I took it was being fair and honest. The customer service to me, who wasn’t even a customer, was exceptional. They genuinely care and it is very apparent. I have been going to Waynes for many years now. Trish and Wayne have always been honest, helpful, and done amazing work. I love the online system for appointments because I can schedule work in the middle of the night if I need to. I always receive a thorough estimate through my email with no high pressure sales that Ive felt at other places or dealerships. Ive had 5 cars services at Waynes (all different makes and models) and have always been happy. The cost may seem high to others but I know that they have great people working on my car who they pay well and treat like family, so I dont mind the cost knowing its the same workers every time who take care of my vehicles. I recommend Waynes 100%.

Waynes has consistently exceeded my expectations. I have been taking my Toyota there for five years or so, and they have backed up every bit of their work, been courteous above and beyond the call of normal customer service. Examples ... my last repair (exhaust) was done in one day and came in $200 under budget ... last summer I was on a road trip out West and was worried about some shimmying: Trish talked me through possibilities and advised me on what to get work on, even though it didnt pay them a cent. They are not the budget option, but the great work, excellent customer service, and unsurpassed warranty wind up making Waynes worth every cent. Really happy to have found them, and recommend them to my friends all the time.

A few weeks ago my check engine light came on hours before I was scheduled to make a 600 mile road trip. I called and was able to stop in on the way out of town, have the computer checked, and received reassurance that I was safe to make my trip. Best service in the area.

After having dealer maintenance on my 2004 Subaru up until now, the Mass dealership did some service on my car last July that resulted in a continuing unresolved intermittent check engine light issue that began before I had even left the parking lot. I believe I made 5 visits between last July and this April to resolve the matter. Diagnosis was done by process of elimination basis that has cost me lots of money and unnecessary hunt and peck diagnosis and part replacement.I went to Waynes through AAA referral. I needed a RI Inspection. It is very close to my house and convenient. They specialize in Subaru, hybrid cars, Honda, Acura and Toyota. They are extremely personable and the attention to service is #1.After some diagnostics (their system is not totally by process of elimination - they actually have tools to test things and the knowledge to use them) their highly experienced technician was able to diagnose that the vacuum drop was not caused by any of the things that the dealer changed out. IT WAS MERELY AN ADJUSTMENT SCREW ignored by the hurried and harried dealer technician.At Waynes, they took the time and had the knowledge, careful approach and tools to accurately diagnose the problem and got my cream puff through inspection and, hopefully, given it many more years on the road.Thanks to Trish, Megan and the Repair TeamMartha Jamison

Waynes is wonderful, and Ive only had truly positive experiences there. Both Trish and Wayne are extremely nice, helpful, and accommodating, easy to talk to, and easy to ask questions from. Trish in particular is so, so friendly. They recently squeezed me in to a day when no appointments were available to work around my schedule. They have some great deals, including a seasonal savings card and an oil change punch card. They are very willing to offer courtesy rides if you cannot wait with your car. Trish always gives treats to our dog when we bring her along. I appreciate how carefully they explain each item on their checklist and talk you through options without pressuring you to go ahead with everything your car might need at once. They are very generous with their professional advice and willing to make recommendations on what is actually important to do immediately and what can afford to be held off on. They treat their customers extremely respectfully and go out of their way to truly look out for whats best for the customer. Trish recommended State Auto Body to me to get some work done after my car was rear ended, and I must say I did not have to think twice if that was the right place to go. My car was quickly diagnosed and fixed by appointment the next day. It runs great. The waiting room is clean & comfortable for quick repairs. This is the third time I have used Wayne’s Service Plus to service my 2015 Subaru Legacy. I like the consistency and have recommended them to friends.

My family drove my youngest son to college from Chicago, on the way the AC started dripping into the passenger side of the car so badly we had to bail the water and use catch basins held up by the passenger’s feet! Once we got to Providence my daughter found Wayne’s on google and they fixed the car in about 5-10 minutes, refusing to charge us because it just required blowing out the drain tube. Trisha tried not to laugh but was super friendly and sympathetic! I would take my car here all the time if I lived in Providence. Thanks again Trish.

I had my 4Runner in for an oil change and a service inspection April of 2019. Ive been to a lot of other mechanics / dealerships for different vehicles I have had in the past and I remember wondering if there was ANY vehicle service business out there that I would ever have a decent experience with.I usually always have to call for updates, always have to deal with mechanics on the phone that are less than personable, always have to deal with lack of clarity on why things need to be fixed or recommended and it just leads to an awful experience.Waynes was the answer I was looking for. When I first called the etiquette and upbeat conversation I had on the phone was extremely reassuring. On top of that once I had dropped off my vehicle I received a text message letting me know I can receive updates that way. Finally around 2:30p the same day I got a call with an update and an email sent to me breaking down exactly what they recommended (they found a split in the exhaust that was causing some noise they recommended done right away) with pictures accompanying so I could see what they were talking about.I had the exhaust taken care of that day and now have a list of preventative maintenance I can knock out over the next few months! The experience was INCREDIBLE at Waynes and I cant recommend this company enough!The only sour point in the whole experience was knowing Im moving to California in 2 weeks and they werent willing to uproot their entire business location to follow me out there! haha Id give 10 stars if I could. Excellent experience here!

I went in today for an inspection and found out that my car was in really poor shape to the point that it is really on the verge of being totaled. The people at Waynes refused to take any money from me even though they spent around two hours conducting a thorough diagnostic of the car. The services was absolutely superb, and I highly recommend this business to anyone who needs work done. They were kind, courteous, and informative. I never felt like they were trying to sell me things that I did not need, or taking advantage of me, and I still cant believe that they refused to charge me for all of the time that they put in on the car.
I cannot say enough positive things about Wayne’s service and the Amazing people that work there. My car was seen the same day regretfully some specific parts had to be ordered and it was a holiday weekend. Luckily trish was able to get me into one of their loaner cars just Incase I had an emergency and needed it ( I’m 8 months pregnant) . When we picked up our car it was in perfect working condition they even scraped off all the snow from the winter storm we had that morning. DO NOT EVER TAKE YOUR CAR HERE EVER! I took my car there and they did a pre-inspection. They gave me an estimate of over $1300.00 of work that urgently needed to be done. Including my rear brakes, fluid needed to be flushed, corrosion needed to be cleaned and my emergency brake needed to be adjusted. I had my brakes done not 6 months ago so this made me weary. I took my car to a trusted family mechanic today and had him look over the whole car especially everything listed in the estimate. He just called me there is NOTHING wrong with my car. Not a damn thing. My car passed the state inspection with no problems at all, something they told me it would not do. They are crooked and out to take advantage of people. I gave them 1 star only because it doesnt let you give no stars. If I could I would give negative stars.

Ive had my cars serviced at Waynes for decades and have been completely satisfied. The office staff are knowledgeable, professional and congenial. They take appropriate time to explain any repair, etc. You never feel that they are hurrying you along to get to the next customer. My experiences with Waynes have always been positive and I have never had any other feeling than trustworthiness in this repair shop.
There were so many parts of this shop that seemed enticing. But I would personally suggest you be a bit wary of their customer service. I had brought my car in for an oil change and state inspection. They dont do state inspections, so they provided a courtesy taking it to get an oil change elsewhere. All of this seemed excellent.But then, as Im getting checked out, the person at the desk provides me an unprompted estimate for brake work, telling me I had about 3 months before I would need this done. The price was 25% higher than any other place I checked on for similar service. AND I didnt need the brake work done for two more years.
Outstanding service and very thorough inspection; left me with all the options I needed and no pressure to fix it all right now on my older, high mileage car. Trish and her staff took great care of my van, with top quality service and excellent communication. They even provided transportation to and from the shop. Anyone can provide mechanical services but its customer service that sets Waynes apart from their competition.
I was towed to Waynes because AAA recommended them, and it was within my free tow radius. My brakes had stopped working. Waynes quoted me $6,700 in total repairs my 2004 jeep with 200,000 miles. this car might be worth $2,000 if Im lucky. when I had them pare the myriad repairs down to just the brakes, they quoted $700 for the front(which included 1 caliper) $900 for the back and another $500 for brake-line running front to back. so I had it towed somewhere else. the new place repaired the front brakes (including both calipers which would have put Waynes quote at over $1,000) for $536. They said nothing else with the car was a safety issue, nor would prevent it from passing inspection. If you are into being quoted for over $5,0a00 in unnecessary repairs, and being charged double for the ones that are necessary go to Waynes, otherwise go somewhere else... go literally anywhere else. Do not give these scumbags your money.
The attention to exceptional customer service at this shop is absolutely amazing. I cant recommend them enough for how well they treated me, for how thoroughly and professionally they checked out my car, and for how they did not overcharge me but made sure I only spent money on what I truly needed (and while making sure I got my AAA discount too). I will definitely return to this shop whenever my car needs service.

Only one problem....I did leave my laundry in the back seat, and when I picked up the car I saw that the laundry was not done....I thought this was Waynes Service PLUS! I wouldnt go anywhere else. Wayne is excellent, Dan is great, and Trish is a great staff addition...overall great business. I know when I bring my car into Waynes I will receive good service, and will drive away with a car that is safe to drive. They dont overcharge, and they keep you updated on what maintenance to do items are coming up. Bottom line: trustworthy business worth patronizing.
The brakes on my Prius started making a strange sound and I brought the car to two other mechanics in Providence, neither or whom could diagnose the problem, before I found Waynes. Waynes diagnosed and fixed the problem and communicated with me every step of the way so I wouldnt be surprised by the final bill. I was impressed with their service and Ill be back!
Although repairs for my vehicle were over cost of its worth and I declined the repairs in favor of a new vehicle. My expectations were blown away when I got in my vehicle to drive it off the lot because they had wiped the inside clean, and vacuumed for me. Costing me only the lights they replaced for me instead of an inflated service charge for all the work the went through diagnosing my vehicle.

They broke a piece off my alternator, put a salvaged alternator on my car for a very high price. It lasted one month and they would not work with me on any reimbursement. Not a kosher way of doing business in my opinion.

I brought my 2007 car to Waynes Service Plus to inspect after I had just purchased it, as is. 10 years old, I expected some needed repairs. There were only minor repairs that had to be done immediately. They recommended others could be done later if I wanted. I appreciate the up front honest diagnosis and pricing. The car is running fine after several months, thanks to Waynes team!

I found Waynes by Googling Prius experts near me and, based on their website feedback, just had my 2004 diagnosed - a general, overall diagnosis at 168K for a car I bought 6 months ago. 3 BIG surprises: (1) a photo-rich diagnostic report in my email - all of which seems on target to me. Never had a photo-based diagnostic report before. Hard to argue with the care & quality. (2) Id asked for an A/C recharge - they told me it didnt need it, was blowing cold at 35 degrees, and so didnt do it. How many garages are this honest? (3) Picked the car up after the FREE diagnosis and - surprise - theyd vacuumed and Armoralld the interior. How many times has this happened to you? So Im certainly going back there for the few maintenance items they found. And o top of this, Trish is a hoot and seems to know her Prii, and Megan at the front desk is a real pro. Highly recommended.

UPDATE: The owner ended up calling just two hours after I wrote the original review. She admitted that there had been a communication issue that had resulted in never providing an estimate. She also said that she wanted to make it right, including waiving the original diagnostic fee. In the end, my husband and I decided not to accept the offer. Not ever looking at my concerns could have been a communication error. But we dont like this business practice of charging a diagnostic fee. In our experience, diagnosis is usually a complimentary service in other repair shops weve visited. At this place, it felt like a hidden fee.Maybe it would have been more upfront if they had told me outright that a diagnostic fee would apply. But I also would have taken my car elsewhere had they told me that.ORIGINAL POST: Went in to obtain a quote for repairing three specific known problems. Came back with a $1,220 estimate for services ranging from silly ($95 to defog, resurface my headlights) to serious (timing chain tensioner replacement), but they failed to even look at two of my three specified concerns. The third problem was apparently part of their normal inspection, so they found that one.When I asked about the other two problems (A/C and fan problems), they quoted a blanket diagnostic rate ($128/hour) to begin looking at the problems, followed by the cost of parts and further labor time (I was not given a number estimate for these two things). I could have gotten that level of information over the phone initially, rather than dropping off my car, walking home, and then walking back. In the end, I got quotes for a lot of other repairable items on my car, but didnt get a full quote for what I specifically came to get a quote for.On the positive side, they did wave the diagnostic fee for this initial visit ($45 or so) when I told them that I honestly could not afford that much in repairs for right now. I may have been angry had they not, since they did not do what I specifically asked. But the attendant was fair about this. They also offer AAA and student discounts, which may be helpful.On the whole, the staff was friendly and thorough about this visual inspection, but I was not pleased to get inspections and recommendations for everything *besides* what I called about.Note that since I have not had any repairs done here, I cannot comment on the quality of their actual repair services.

I took my car to Waynes Service Plus to have it looked at before a potential long drive across the country, since it was quite old and was questionable in reliability. They confirmed some issues I suspected, put them in order of safety concern, and discussed the price and options with me. When the cost of repairs were more than I wanted to proceed with, Trish immediately provided me with contacts at a rental car location nearby and a junk yard if I decided to go that route. Thanks so much for being helpful even when I opted out of repairs!
Yes, they are pricey... But, their warranty is kind of unbeatable!When you drop your car off you can get dropped off if your destination is local. Their customer service is far better than the impersonal service from other places Ive been to, they really seem to care about your vehicle. The real shock that most people and myself got was the FREE ESTIMATE!!! They look over your vehicle and FIND things that are going bad. The total estimate is a shock but you do not have to get it all done at once. I didnt need anything major done yet as I do most of my work myself. True, if you do not like the prices you CAN take your vehicle somewhere else.Bottom line for me is if I cannot do it myself, I take it to Waynes!Leckie Mason
I usually do not write reviews, but l must say Trish and Megan are awesome!!! My husband had issue after issue with his Jeep and these two ladies could not have helped any more that what they did. They bent over backwards for us to resolve the issue! They even brought the car to me when it was done (as I had no ride home) I highly recommend Waynes auto and wish I had found them sooner!!!
