They keep it very clean and so far everyone has been really nice there. Im trying to get out of shelter and into a motel but they told me I cant because I have an active TA case open in Columbia County which needs to be closed but when I called Columbia County they told me to apply at this one because I am in shelter. My question is why couldnt they just call Columbia County themselves while I was there and asked them to close the other case so I could at least get into a motel out of the shelter and I bet you 10 bucks that Columbia County is going to say something along the lines of you need to come here personally to close it instead of just closing it over the phone.

This place is super shady.If you can avoid going this route, I strongly suggest legally sorting things out between you and your ex.I know of multiple people who work for or have worked for and represented the Support Collections Unit. I’ve seen first-hand and heard about situations in family court and directly at the Support Collections office, where Support Collections representatives worked underhandedly to directly help friends, loved ones, and co-workers, by abusing their position to take/gain advantage over people they want punishment/revenge/payback on (guys and gals). I realize it’s a small county and that a lot of folks are related, but this behavior goes way beyond what is acceptable. When you consider that the Support Collection unit workers have the ability to help put people behind bars, separating families and causing more damage than divorce or breaking up of a family alone cause, there needs to be the strictest oversight that is possible of these workers, their personal agendas, and their reasons for being Unit employees.The County DA should be investigating the office and people who have worked there from Unit’s inception to present day without question. Conflicts of interest, abuses of power, obstructions of justice, the list goes on and on, there are and have been employees that are just crooked or at minimum flexible/sympathetic to corrupt/ed influences.Undeniably, the people working for Dutchess County Support Collection Unit have done more to hurt or severely damage more families and lives then they have actually helped ever; guaranteed.

Helpful, courteous service. There is even staff in the waiting area, directing peoole where to take a number, asking people if they need help - I was impressed. However I waited a long time, partly because I didn’t hear my number called out and it wasn’t posted; I also heard someone complaining they had waited an hour, not having been told they could go - so communication could use improvement. But all in all a good experience, not what I was expecting from the reviews!

Non-helpful! Will NOT go extra mile...especially if absent parent owing over $10,000 who lives out of state...will NOT issue warrant of valilation or work with other states to find and enforce payments owed

Always a wait. Dirty unkept place. Staff is horrible, always an ungodly long wait just to speak to someone. The staff always comes off as they hate their jobs.
