I love Petsmart, they always know how to help even with the toughest challenges. The pet training class was phenomenal. His first day he was already getting out of his shell and hes been a new puppy since! I cant wait to continue his training!

Was shopping for Aquarium accessories and fish. The person helping seemed very knowledgeable. She even looked up information to confirm something I mentioned to her, that she wasnt 100% sure about.

Average pet smart. The employees are friendly and they have a variety of food, toys, and treats for pets. They did not have a large selection of litter boxes but the staff was very friendly in helping me find them. A little on the pricey side but great if you need stuff for your pets (mainly cats and dogs).

I mean, its a chain store. How many stars can you give. The grooming is great but again, its a chain store. I dont know the turnover with staff. I dont know who is cutting my dogs hair.

I went to petsmart today because I had made an appointment with the groomer to get my Maltese puppy a wash and a haircut. He had an 11:30am appointment this morning and they didn’t finish him until almost 4pm this afternoon. When I showed up to pick him up they butchered his haircut so bad I asked them to do a teddy bear haircut and it was nowhere close to that. I was so furious and so disappointed because I waited hours for them to finish him overall and then to come back and see that they pretty much cut him almost bald when I didn’t even ask them to do that was very unprofessional. The damage was already done so I had to accept that it was too late and that his hair will eventually grow back. Never going back to this place for grooming ever again.

Unprofessional service. We booked a grooming for my dog, bath and haircut. When we got home, we found the groomer did NOT clean my pups ears, did NOT trim his nails and his hair was NOT cut neatly.Never go there again.

Great place very clean with helpful employees my only complaint is that like most chain stores, their employees are not very educated in anything besides cats and dogs but that’s okay because I know about the rest but so many other people get given poor advice because the pet stores arnt hiring people who are educated probably.

Ive been going to the Poughkeepsie NY store to have my dogs groomed for years. Today I arrived with one of them to be groomed and the young lady behind the counter gives me a big story about how one of the groomers called in sick and they were fully booked plus they take walk-ins ( I never knew that) and was I sure I wanted to leave my dog. It might take more than three hours. I was fine with that. She then told me she loved schnauzers, but hadnt done too many of them. My dog is old and Im not terrible concerned if her cut isnt perfect. I explained as I always do that she has arthritis in her hips and to be gentle with them.An hour later I get a call that my dog cant be cut today because she cant stand up and keeps sitting down. Store policy is they cant do a cut if she cant stand up. My dog has no trouble standing up, sitting is the issue. Im told I can reschedule later in the week.... Umm if they cant cut her hair because she cant stand up, how are they doing it in a couple of weeks?? She wont be any younger than. When I pointed that out, I was told it wouldnt be so busy then. I said forget it. Ill come get her.When I arrived, the manager Jeff comes in to the salon and proceeds to try to get me to pay for her bath. I refused. I give her a bath for free at home all the time. He then tells me if I dont pay, I cant have another appointment and am no longer welcome there. (As if I would want another appointment.) Jeff was rude and confrontational. He walked into the salon ready to argue with me. All I wanted was my dog. I had no interest in debating anything. All that needed to be said was said on the phone with the groomer.As the owner of four dogs and a large saltwater tank, I spend a lot of money in that store every month on supplies and toys since it opened. Ive never had an issue with anyone Ive dealt with until Jeff today. He has a complete lack of people skill and would serve the company far better in a non-costumer service role, like stock boy in the warehouse. The groomer (who was very nice and polite) was clearly in over her head today and should have been allowed to cancel appoints ahead of time that she couldnt handle. The manager was clearly more interested in billables than customer service.I will be doing exactly what manager Jeff wants and taking my business to Petco just a mile down the road. Theyll be happy to have me.(FYI my dog walked out of the store and hopped in the car no problem. Shes old, not disabled. )

I witnessed very unprofessional behavior on Saturday the 9th of January near the fish department. I was just casually attempting to stroll near the fish when an employee starts screaming about how shes not going to take snails out of the tank and how its retarded she said that word about 5-10 times in a 5 minute window. inappropriate to say the least

I was a little disappointed with the Poughkeepsie Petsmart on 2/9/2021. The website clearly indicated they had black kuhli loaches in stock at the store. When I asked the young lady for help she told me they have never stocked that fish. I mentioned the website said they were in stock. She asked to see the site on my phone. I showed it to her and she just blew it off and told me to try Petco. It would have been nice for her to offer to order them for me.

Went to this location 5 MINUTES BEFORE THEY WERE CLOSING, because its my Omni girls 12th birthday and I got stuck working late, they were so sweet at the store and helped me even pick her out stuff, and manager came and got her a birthday present from her to bring home! Thank you so much, she loved everything, especially the frozen fruit treat!! 🐶😊

We love this place it is our local pet store even though it is surrounded by three other brand name pet stores.

The salon, groomer, and cashier/staff are all great! We went hiking in the area and brought our dog in for a same day appointment. They did a very thorough check of her before taking her in and gave me a summary report afterwards of what they took care of during the grooming. The process was very smooth and she looks amazing afterwards. They even call me back the day after to make sure I am happy with everything. Amazing service!

I used to take my dog to the grooming salon and they were always rough with him. Cut his hair to short when I didnt want it as short as the groomer did. Cut his nails when I didnt ask for it. Brushed his teeth didnt ask for. Reason this is a problem bc all I wanted was a wash and trim. Nothing crazy. My dog started acting very distant everytime I took him there. So I stopped. I wouldnt recommend going to pet smart. My dog is friendly and for him to act distant or different and hes not sick thats a problem for me. It was always after I picked him up and it took at least 3 days b4 he started to act normal.

Absolutely the best customer service, knowledge, friendliness and prompt services. I am just so impressed with this company. Even my dog Bailey goes to training classes with Laurel she is just great with the training program. My overall experience is absolutely a 5 you don’t find the quality of service in stores anymore. Don’t change your certainty above the rest. Ps the grooming services are great as well I will never get my Bailey groomed anywhere else love my Baileys hair cuts too!

When you walk in, the first available floor staff member will ask if you need anything. They are very willing to help, and are very pleasant. Weve purchased food, toys, and chew items for our puppy here. They even ran coupons from a coupon book offering that they had available for $10 (additional coupons for further items were inside). I go back for bully sticks, which my puppy lives to chew and are better than rawhide.

I always go to PetSmart, I love to see all the doggies that come in and the kitties up for adoption. I also go to buy goodies for my own animals because they are reasonably priced and have a pretty big selection of pet products. Plus I like the bonus point program because you use your points for money off!

Theres always staff ready to help me every time I come in. One staff member even asked me, Who are you shopping for?, which I thought was super cute

Please beware. I took my dog to get her nails trimmed and she ended up with ringworm. Also the staff is not very nice and not very knowledgeable.

I bring my 11 lb chi mix here for nail trims. She HATES them. Struggles like crazy (shes a rescue and has been cut too deeply by a few veterinarians a couple times). Ive had the same technician the past couple of visits and she is amazing. I wish I could remember her name. So patient, soothing, and kind. My dog is tiny but is like an otter, slippery and struggling, but this professional got the job done with minimal trauma. My dog even tried to nip her which is totally unlike her, she was just scared, but the tech didnt even flinch and deftly avoided any injury to herself or my dog. Farfle and I thank you! And Im sorry she was so difficult, its not her fault!

My little Bella went to this location for a grooming and we were so happy on how she looked. Tania the groomer in the salon is a sweetheart and she’s also so loving, caring, and patient. Can’t wait for Bella’s next appt. Absolutely loved the precious barrette in Bella’s hair. Too cute.

I went too pet smart in poughkeepsie the other day too pick up a premium inflatable protective collar for my 6 month old lab who is getting surgery next week. the item was $41.99 so i bought it because i want my best friend too be comfortable after his surgery instead of the plastic collars they give from the vets, but anyways i come home take it out of the box too test fit it on my labrador and noticed it was used and it had hair all over it. at this rate im furious because i spent $41.99 on this item and its used i wanted new. so i called up pet smart in poughkeepsie and told them the situation and they said they cant take returns back. so now im stuck with a used item which has hair all over it and god only knows where it was. so just posting this up here too warn people before you buy anything from this place check it. i will not shop here anymore i will take my business too petco for now on

Brought 2 dogs in for grooming by Kim. Both proceeded to pee from nerves or excitement. Kim was a pro about it. Our wheaten came out looking great. The lab only got a bath, furminator and nail trim. She looked great also. I couldnt have been happier. Kim seems to be one of those people who are genuinely happy dealing with people.

Not a lot of Turtle supplies, asked Manger to please order more she tells me I have no power over whats ordered; ME: who is; MANAGER: Corporate.Asked her to notify them she tells me oh Im sorry that is just how things are done....so i had to call corporate - useless, now lets see if corporate returns my message...if not oh well just have to keep driving to PetCo who has ALL the turtle supplies I need....their revenue loss🤷🏽‍♀️

My daughter wanted Guinea pigs. I had done some research but wish I had done more. The sales associate was kind and informative and seemed enthusiastic about the animals. Unfortunately the Guinea pigs sold to us were sick. This is apparently quite common and a key reason as to why you should not purchase a Guinea pig at a pet store.

I have never had an unpleasant experience at Petsmart. They are pretty well stocked. They carry a variety of healthy food for my fur babies. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly.

Regular store stuff is fine (like any other pet store, so nothing stand out there). However, the reason for the negative review is the way my wife was treated this morning. We booked a 7am appt to have our dog (2 yr old flat coated retriever) groomed and nails clipped. The groomer (who turned out to be a manager) Kim didnt take the time to acclimate to the dog. We informed them in advance that our dog would need a muzzle (not because she bites, but because she gets uncomfortable around new people and after a while they could take the muzzle off once she got to know them. Its not for bit protection, but for the new persons comfort that the growl isnt because she will bite, but because she is scared). Kim didnt do this step, didnt give our dog a moment to acclimate, and immediately went to put a leash on her without getting to know her first. This caused our dog to hide behind my wife and growl, to which Kims response was that she cannot groom her. Truth is, any good groomer knows how to meet a new dog that is scared. Instead of taking the time and listening to the owner, I guess because it was 7am, I dunno... she decided to rush and then cancel our appt after a 30 minute drive to get there. Not so great service from the grooming department.

Last week my girlfriend and I went here to look for a few things for our new puppy. Amparo saved my girlfriend and myself money by telling us about the benefits of buying a puppy guide for our newly yellow lab puppy Abbott. She took the time to help us out all with a smile assuring purchased all of the nessary item we would need for our new puppy. I will continue you to get my dog supplies there thanks to her warm and friendly attitude.

Ive found their stocking to be not quite logical. Today I almost concluded that they didnt have what I was looking for, and there were no employees in sight. I kept widening my search, and finally found what I was looking for, not in with related things. It was a little irritating, but in the end I got what I went there for.

The people who work there are very kind and helpful. A great variety of options to choose from for cats, dogs, and all other pet needs.

Nice clean place. Unfortunately, an employee there was too scared to communicate with me because Im deaf. Because of that, he was willing to let me lose 70 bucks in discounts by not helping me get a discount card which I asked for. Luckily, there was another employee who was deaf fixed everything.
