I live in Poughkeepsie and my uncle was going to his local doctor’s appointment over on Fox street. Every cab company I called before calling this one, either didn’t answer or told me they didn’t have any cars. The main reason why they wouldn’t send a car was because he wasn’t going far enough. I called Alpha and the lady said sure we will send a car in 10 minutes. I couldn’t believe my ears after being turned down from the other companies. The car showed up in less than 10 minutes, he called when arrived and he waited a couple of extra minutes. The rates weren’t bad either. The driver was beyond professional and friendly. My uncle don’t bond with many people but him and the driver bonded great. I say this to say that I’m very pleased with Alpha Taxi.

Long waits.... The overnight dispatcher is very good. She is very kind and actually called me back to let me know how long of a wait Id have. She gets 5 stars every time

This is literally the worse cab service I ever took.They take a least 40 min to come and they consistently lie to you say that the cab will be their in two minutes and then when u go outside in two minutes,there is no cab.You stand there for another 5 minutes and still there’s no cab.The people can’t even get a hold of there own drivers cause they don’t pick up the phone,like your not serious.How can u be this bad lmaoo.If your reading this post DO NOT TAKE ALPHA CAB.And I hope they see this too.Terrible

One of their dispatchers is extremely rude they over charge and if you arent from Poughkeepsie i feel like they take advantage and charge extra for everything.

One they can never come on time and never efficient with peoples time. Numerous times Ive been late because they always wanna pick up numerous strangers . I will never ever use this horrible taxi again. Why under needs to hurry up cause taxi services upstate suck simple as that

I wish I can give no stars but we had an issue with this dumb taxi service. So okay, we had a dentist appointment that was at 9am and the taxi was suppose to be here by 8am and my mom called them the night before to make sure that they were coming. We wait until 8am... nobody showed up then she called again and the lady picked up and said that the cab was going to come. Then we waited again and she ended up calling them again then the ugly rude lady picked up and told us to be patient. It was almost 9am and we were suppose to go and get my braces on so it was a very important appointment and I had to not go to school, my mom didnt go to work either. Then she called again and the lady said something then hung up. Then she called her back and she started saying that what do u want me to do? She was super rude and disrespectful then later the lady ended up calling us asking if we still wanted the taxi after we already had to cancel our appointment and after we waited for hours 🙄 I had to not go to school, my mom had to miss her job like. This taxi service is a damn mess. I hope they kick that lady out and I hope she ends up working somewhere else.Please dont use this taxi service ❗️

They are always late especially in the weekend the drivers are to good to drive on weekends but they love to work week days so if you need a cab on weekends try someone else

Alpha is the worse cab company in the area. And I have tried with them over and over again. They lie about their times and the drivers are rude. I called a cab at 520am. The last said someone was on the way now . Around 720am I decided to call and see what happened they said they called and I never came out but I have literally been standing outside for about 2 hours. I do not recommend this cab and I hope they go out of business soon.

Well. There are no good cabs in this area. If you want a ride on time, call a friend. Thats pretty much your only option. As for Alpha, I called the night before my trip to arrange a pickup, and then half an hour prior to confirm that I was set. When my scheduled time rolled around, nothing. I called again, and was informed that 1.) the dispatch could neither confirm nor deny that I had a cab. And 2.) that my cab had picked up another fare to the same destination from a different location, without calling the number I had given. The dispatcher told me that I could probably get a cab in another 20 minutes. Which was doable for the train I was trying to catch, barely. I told him my location and had them confirm.Fifteen minutes later, I called again, and was told the driver was almost there. Great. A few minutes after that, the driver called to tell me he was there. No cab in sight. I walked into the road, and asked if he could see me, and reconfirmed my location. When I asked if the driver could see me, I was told, and I quote well let you know, at which point they hung up on me. The same conversation was repeated almost verbatim about five minutes after that. No cab ever showed.So, in short, thank you Christine for driving me to the train station.

I have taken almost every taxi in the Poughkeepsie area and I can honestly say Alpha taxi is the best and most reliable one. They are always truthful and will let you know when they are close. They will tell you if they can get there in 5 minutes or 50 minutes, so they are always truthful which I love! No other cab company will call you when they are there. Other ones just beep rudely once or twice then leave if you arent outside. The drivers and dispatchers are also nicer then many of the other taxi companies. Hands down the best taxi in the 845 area! Only taxi company I will take from now on!

Horrible cab drivers ever. As I’m in the parking lot by price Chopper in Poughkeepsie this driver comes flying out of no where and almost hits my car. I was going at least 5MPH and he had to be going 30MPH in the parking lot. This was not safe at all. I had two kids in the car with me at the time. The driver just seems to not care about what he did and just went along with his day like nothing happened. I highly do not recommend this company at all. STAY VERY FAR AWAY before someone gets hurts. I reported the incident to the company and all they said was “they have GPS tracking in the cars and we will take care of the situation” Well let’s see how far that goes before one of there drivers hits someone.

Like I said sometimes you if you qualified for that then you could get it the SafeLink and insurance if you qualify for Medicaid or anything for food stamp

Company is usually good with time calls and regular calls as long as they have enough drivers

Apparently the staff at Alpha taxi is just as incompetent as this driver. As the owner of the Sunoco station on the corner of Vassar Road and Spackenkill Road I called to advise that there was a driver who thought that he was of privilege and need not to wait for the traffic light to change colors and decided to use my parking lot as a convenience as to not to have to be burdened with waiting for the light to change. When I spoke to the manager she took no interest in my concern and cut me short by hanging up the phone abruptly. I called back and spoke to the same manager and told her that I did not appreciate her lack of concern to this safety matter and when I asked if she rather I call the local police department and have them review the video of her drivers actions she simply said whateverDo yourself a favor and not subject yourself to the dangerous actions of this companies driving habits or to the lack of concern of this companies management; YOU ARE BETTER OFF CALLING UBER or LIFT.

I called this company at 6:30am to book a ride to work (had to be there at 8). Here it is 8:06 and theyre just picking me up

Horrifically unprofessional . Poughkeepsie only has main two cab companies. Empire & Alpha . Unfortunately theyre able to take full advantage of that . They treat and speak to customers horribly, never on time, & simply dont care how much the public depends on this transportation. Also the drivers ate questionable. Ive witnessed myself a drivers no more than seconds clipping a young child trying to cross the street. As a mom I ran fast I could to aide the scared little girl. I informed Alpha and of course the response was nonchalant as if the dispatcher Kenny didnt care . Theyre just an overall disgrace . Work hard and buy a car man!

I took my last ride just recently that Ill have with this company. Most times its okay but the times where the ride is bad it exceeds any decent ride they offered. They are usually late even when you call hours in advance asking them to be at a certain location at a certain time. My last ride I was charged in advance of what they told me on the phone and I couldnt dispute it because of thezone charges.Would not recommend this cab service. Uber and Lyft are now in the area with a smoother ride and much lower rates.

An alpha taxi almost hit me tonight by trying to pull out in front of me and then almost hit the person behind me trying to pull out in front of them causing the other driver to swerve into the other lane. You would think you would care about the kind of people you have driving your cars. You obviously dont care if someone is reckless enough to do that. Ive never had a ride from alpha and I never will.

Was told to do a pickup at 7. Was late, did not know the destination, decided his paperwork was more important than driving despite being late, kicked me out when I complained--and not at the pickup point. Company decided this imbecile s continued employment is more important than having a loyal customer by stating that they heard my side. If you would like to be treated disrespectfully and unproffessionally this the taxi for you. If you want a company which anybelieves good service and getting their customers to their destination in a timely manner is important dont use this company.

Trash. This place shouldnt be a business. Investigate them! Must be a store front. No moral or ethical code while conducting business. The customer is on their time. Alpha taxi has No concept or idea on how a business actually runs. I gave them hours upon hour notice and they were still nowhere to be found. If you were in the middle of the forest and your two options were call alpha or walk, walking would be your quickest and safest bet. Cars smell like pot. Drivers keep girlfriends in front seat during pickups. They are a nightmare and should be replaced asap. The dispatcher doesnt know how to communicate with humans nor does she know how to apologize. Her former of apology is to hang the phone up.Will never ever take or recommend this to anyone and Noone should call this company. They have a 1.5 star rating for a reason. There are plenty of other reliable cab companies in piughkeepsie. You guys are giving the town a horrible reputation. You should feel sorry for yourselves. If i could rate them a 0 i would, absolutely terrible and extremely rude and disrespectful. Waited over 3 hrs for a cab and they constantly insisted one would be on the way in 20 min, when they finally showed up the cab was packed and no room to pick me up. Whats the point in asking how many people are coming if u dont accomodate them. Had me and my kids stranded at the mall and they had 0 compassion for their error. The male dispatcher is should be fired, no one should use them. I hope this business goes under, very unprofessional

I called for a taxi around 1:42 PM, hoping that I would be able to get to my destination by 2:15 or 2:30. The dispatcher told me that the car was going to pick me up in 20 minutes. Usually I give a leeway of about 5 minutes. 1:42 becomes 2:17 and I call again asking where the taxi is. She says the car will be around the corner in 5 minutes. I hang up, and end up calling back at 2:27 to tell them not to bother picking me up. The OTHER taxi service I called arrived within 10 minutes. Im never calling Alpha again.

For some reason the dispathcher is rudeThey are constantly late and forgetting sending a csr to who i am and when i call again to make sure they are sending someone they pick me up to then pick someone else up. It is always over forty minutes but they always say 15 minutes or so so you can wait and they a driver not arive . Uber and lyft have an issue alpha has a social and business issue

I waited 1.25 hours for a taxi to bring me to the hospital after being told it would be a 30 minute wait. Never came.I then called and was told I needed to get confirmation cause the system was down. Then it would be another half an hour from then.I got done what I needed to get done, as instructed, and was told they had a car in the area. So It wouldnt be another half an hour as stated before.It has now been another 40 minutes, its almost 2am, and still nothing.The woman who answered the phone was rude and had told me to just call an ambulance. I would rather use a reliable cab company than waste all that money for the insurance company, waste the ambulance s time, and let them be there for someone who desperately needs them. So I am not calling again.Companies like this are part of the problem in the world. Its unfortunate that after all these reviews, the same woman is running dispatch, and the company is run so poorly.They should be pulled from Google and anywhere else they are advertised. Its a shame that no matter how poor the reputation of a business is, that anyone would still direct customers to them.

It was early in the morning I called for a cab, when I realized the bus wasnt coming and if I countined to wait Id be late. I was speaking to a lady telling her where I was. Across from Texas road house and that I needed a cab. She put me on the phone with a guy who then proceed to question me. Saying that once the bus comes Im gonna leave and take the bus. I told him no Im not I want a taxi, then he said to walk across the street to Texas Roadhouse then. I told him thats in the opposite direction though, Im going to the metro north. He said so, and that hes not gonna have his driver come out there and I get on the bus. Then he hung up on me. He was very rude and I dont see how they even have a taxi business.

Horrible. Theyre always late and I never get to my appointments on time. We often get rude drivers. The dispatcher has gotten an attitude with us a few times. And what makes us even more late is that they pick up more people after they get us. And theyre expensive. Totally not worth it, they suck. They ALWAYS make me late for my medical appointments.

The woman that answers the phone is arrogant, clueless, and rude. They quoted me 30 minutes for a pick up. Took them forty five minutes, then charged me $18 to drive me three miles. The threadbare cab was FILTHY--dirty Kleenex in the door filthy. The cab driver was cool though and listening to Michael Jackson. Read the other reviews and youll see this is how they run their business.

Horrible Dispatchers, One of Hung Up On Me And I Always Have To Call A Hour Ahead Time. Today I called for a cab to go to work at 7;30 they told me 30 mins exactly and its now 8:39 and Im still waiting and once again im late again for work ! Worst company just like reliable but good prices

I called two hours in advance for a cab from the train station to my house less than 5 minutes away. The dispatcher gave me a price over the phone for two people. The cab was late and refused to get out to help with our luggage. Then we sat at the train station while he waited for the dispatcher to give him a price. When he told the driver the same price he told me on the phone they proceeded to argue about it. Mind you, it’s 1am and we were tired. During th car ride the guy didn’t seem to know where he was going so my fiancé gave some suggestions and the driver rudely replied that he knew where he was going. We finally get to our destination and get out of the car, as soon as I pull out my luggage and shut the door he goes “that’s $5.50,” in a super rude tone. Meanwhile my fiancé was in the process of walking around the back of the car to pay him. Ugh. Will never take this cab again. The only reason they get one star is because the dispatcher was nice.

Horrible customer service. Its literally repulsive. They will put you on hold for a ridiculously long time. They have no idea what time the cab will arrive the estimations of arrival time is always off. Plenty of other choices unfortunately they are the cheapest and you get what you pay for. I wish I knew the owner. Crazy.

Describe my experience....well it was my last. The taxi driver was not only 45 minutes late to pick me and my best friend up, but he also was uneducated in regards to driving a vehicle. He had a car full of people and he wasnt paying attention to the road, and was driving recklessly. He gave me and my friend an anxiety attack, and she was unable to calm down from fear the whole night. We were genuinely scared and we will NEVER USE ALPHA TAXI SERVICES AGAIN.

Will be calling the owner. Have taken cab more then once from work to home and it was alway 7 dollars. This last time when I pull up to my house the cab driver says 13.50 almost double what I pay... my house is literally 5 minutes from my job. He calls the disparate Sean or Shawn and he tell the cab that is I dont pay he will call the cops. The driver explains to him I always pay $7 and to call the woman driver who normally picked me up and she could tell him that I always be $7. He then proceeded to say he was going to call the cops if I didnt pay $13.50 and the very nice lady driver came over the speaker and confirmed that I always paid $7. He then told my driver to tell me I could pay $7 this time but from now on I would be paying $13.50. I was traveling from Price Chopper on Route 9 near TJ Maxx to 7-Eleven on hooker its literally a five-minute Drive. The dispatcher was very rude and refused to call the lady driver whom Im assuming heard it over the radio when my driver called. I will be calling the owner and putting in a formal complaint and asking him exactly what the prices because if it is a $13.50 ride to go literally 5 minutes down the road thats most ridiculous thing Ive ever heard and they need to go out of business. And if its not that dispatcher needs to be trained better and get a check on his nasty attitude.

If I could give no stars I would. Drivers are rude and apparently think it’s ok to yell at and threaten they are going to hit pedestrians when they are crossing on a crosswalk.

They took forever to get to me and i called them multiple times. they originally told me less than 30 minutes. 45 minutes later they said 10 more minutes then i called again and they were very rude to me about THIER mistake. Will NOT be calling them again, thank god uber finally got approved here!

I wouldnt even give this place a 1 if I had the choice. Because there arent many choices, youre pretty much screwed. Im here on a work assignment and for the past 3 months Ive used this cab company. Some days are good, some days are ok and some days more than not, are just horrific. Ive set pick up times and theyve shown up over an hour late. Some drivers will have you scared for your life riding in the cab with them. They will pick you up and take you for a long unnecessary ride throughout the city to pick up other riders without letting you know. The male dispatcher is a complete prick and will be very disrespectful. He has zero respect for his drivers and definetley zero respect for the riders. After all the negatives I still gave this cab service my money until I was recently disrespected by the dispatcher and that was when I finally had enough. Call at your own risk and hopefully you will have a better experience that I did. They need to allow Uber and Lyft in Hudson Valley because these cab companies are getting away with bloody murder by not having other competitors in the area.

They have at least 7 cars on the road and not one of them has their hack license. Drivers & dispatcher are equally rude. Crack head drivers. This taxi service doesn’t deserve a star at all. Called for a cab, dispatch said 30-40min wait. After 30min I waited at the front door for 1hr before the driver called to ask for directions. 20min later dispatch called back and said the driver was waiting for me outside for 20min and itll be another 45min before he comes back.lol

Theyre honestly the worst I wish I could give them no stars and I rather not give them my money they constantly make me late to work they lie and say theyre outside and have me standing there for 20+ minutes & sometimes theyll say theyve been trying to call me because my cab was outside and I didnt answer the phone (which is a lie because I be standing outside and no cab ever comes and I never receive a call) so I have to wait for a whole different cab for like an additional 40 minutes and they never give me my change back

Service is horrible! Waiting time is much longer then what they tell you always and always add passengers as they take you home making the wait and time to home even longer!

The MOST unreliable and inefficient cab company in the entire Hudson valley . Not good for business. Dont take unless you really have to! Longest wait periods, even after that the dispatcher ( lady on overnights ) still has no clue where the cab is. She is also rude unprofessional and unskilled in handling customers .... My husband needed a taxi from vassa hospital to Ulster Park right over the bridge.The security guard called & got my husband a taxi home.8/21/17 the ride should of been $25-$27 .You took advantage of a disabled person& changed the price 2 times in the end you charged $60.you are a disgrace
