So my story goes something like this I had a part that was broken in a dishwasher that I bought from Best Buy but I had the warranty from the geek squad so they came over and said it would only cost me $50 as opposed to the normal hundred dollar fee. I found out that I could easily fix it myself if I just ordered the part so the guy gave me the part number and I proceeded to call a place that supposedly had that part. However I then found out that the park would not be shipped For seven months. So I called Best Buy back and said I’ll take you up on your original offer to replace the part and fix my machine since I was confident they had access to these parts at hand. However they then proceeded to say that they would have to charge me another $50 diagnostic fee since I canceled the first one to which I responded I don’t need another diagnostic we already know what the problem is we even know what the part numbers we just need you to bring someone over to come and fix it. But they said no they had to open up a new invoice and charge me another $50 apparently customer service is not on their list of things they provide. So if any of you out there considering getting the geek squad protection plan don’t waste your money
We purchased a microwave like almost a month ago, we waiting like up to 3 weeks to get installation, which they have been changed the schedule for a couple of time, and after they installed it, 2 days later the microwave fell through the cabinet, and broke our cabinet base, and we wait for like a week to get the geek squad came to fix it, but when they came they said that’s nothing they can do because the cabinet base is broken unless we fix the cabinet our self and they said the will give us a call soon after we wait a couple of days nobody call us, and my husband called them back just to get a refund for the instalation, and as always they said they will call back but no one get back to us till today! This is so awful, and they just can’t do a good job, they broke our cabinet and they won’t take any responsibility yet put everything on the air, we will never use geek squad anymore perhaps never trust best buy anymore!
My phone is completely dead. I tried to charge it with different chargers but it still wouldnt charge. I went to geek squad for help a couple of days ago and this guy working there told me he would take a look at my phone and took it from me. A couple of seconds later he looked through his computer and asked if I made an appointment. I said no because I had no idea that we had to make one, and he just said I cant help you then. I understand that we have to make an appointment before coming in, but there were no customers at all and it looked like the workers there were just staring out into space so it was a little ridiculous to me. I scheduled an appointment and when I went in for my appointment, I explained my phone situation to one of the female workers there. She didnt even confirm to see if I actually did make an appointment which means they wasted my time. Whats the point of making an appointment then? I even told her that my phone company took a look at it and advised me that it might have something to do with my battery so that I should have it opened, but the female worker working at geek squad just asked me if it turns on and I said no and she told me that it has nothing to do with the battery, mind you she didnt even take a look at my phone. Instead she told me that it has something to do with my charging port and told me it cannot be fixed, but it can.... She kept saying that if it turned on it would be a battery problem, but it doesnt so she said hence its not a battery problem. How would she know if that is the EXACT problem, if she didnt even take a look at it?! I asked her a couple of questions and she proceeded to give me attitude and responded in a rude tone like I wasnt understanding. I even thanked her at the end since she at least took some of her time to talk to me, but she didnt even respond and just kept looking down at her computer.... Please geek squad in poughkeepsie, make sure the people you hire know their facts and what they are doing. Please train your employees to do better. I understand your time is precious but so are your customers.

Drive 45 minutes to the Best Buy in Poughkeepsie, waited 15 minutes to be helped, some college kid comes out, explaining the issue, oh no, we dont do that here, we would have to send the laptop out...I showed her the conversation with agent Nick, she shrugged and said, yeah, Im really sorry about that.Worthless outfit, Ill order the key online and install the 5 dollar part myself, but now I have to wait 3 days.Terrible outfit, go elsewhere.
I am seaeching for a TV repair shop on Google, and geeksquad keeps showing up. I called in, and they only work on warranty repairs. Geeksquad needs to revisit the way their AdWords are setup, to stop misdirecting people that need their TV fixed.
The geek squad here is awesome. I watched them handle a very rude customer with diplomacy and respect and then solve my problem in a matter of minutes. I made an appointment as usual and was very happy with the quick solution to my internet problems. Thanks geeks!
Do not trust this service or extended warranty. It’s a sham. When this is over I’ll post my details.
Tried to drop off laptop for servicing. I was told to come back in over 5 hrs because it takes paperwork to drop it off and I need to make an appointment. I would understanding making an appointment to have it serviced, but to need an appointment just to drop it off is ridiculous!!!
Geek Squad No showed for my microwave installation yesterday. It was supposed to be here 7 hours ago. No one at this store or corporate knows where the technician or microwave are or when they will show up. Dont use Geek Squad unless you want your purchase lost and your credit card charged.
