Online reservation made pick up and drop off quick and easy. Within Lyft/Uber range of both Beacon and Poughkeepsie train stations so you can train it upstate then pick up a car to navigate around the area. A great resource if youre willing to deal with intermodal transportation and dont want to pay exorbitant rates to rent a car out of NYC.

I had to extend my rental more than once due to circumstances out of my control. Glen, who was working the front desk was extremely helpful and understanding and worked with me to get me the best possible deal. I will definitely return to this location the next time i return.

Rented a car from them through Priceline. Priceline told me for the two days I rent the car it will be for $118.00. Went to the location in Poughkeepsie through Priceline to upgrade a car it would’ve been $2 through budget on there website the difference to upgrade would’ve been an additional $7. Instead he charged me $20 & said because I didn’t DIRECTLY book the car with them.. long story short I ended up having the car for 3 days & was charged $454 from looking at my agreement he switch it from Priceline to has if I was booking directly with them. Now I have to wait 48hrs for the dispute. I’ll NEVER rent with budget again. I will continue to rent with Enterprise if needed!

Absolutely the worst experience renting with them! I prepaid online and after being mislead I was told Id get a credit when I returned the car. I then had issues with the car! I spent a good chunk of my families vacation on the phone with them! Then spent hours at an airport to try and get another car! Also had major issues at tolls! Customer service is awful! I was promised credits and instead was charged more on my card and now being told to wait 5 days to see the credits!

While sitting and waiting for a ride from my husband, I overheard and learned that they park cars in the back and push cars out that people dont request. I guess thats why people who book online dont get a car because even though the car shows available in the system, which we all know is accurate, they arrive to find that particular car is not available because, well, its parked in the back..Bad franchise practice...

Great rates, I always compare avis/budget/Hertz and budget consistently had better rates for quality rentals. Im here twice a month and havent had an issue yet

Booked a car for 12pm to drive to JFK. Arrived at 12:30 and were told no cars were due back till 1. Now after 1, still no cars. Absolutely terrible. Should not be allowed to confirm bookings without available cars! Good luck trying to find another rental on a Sunday. Unapologetic to top it all off. Go elsewhere.

Horrible service and incompetent representative. If I could give zero stars I would!They sent me out with a vehicle that needed air in the tires. I discovered this was the problem within 5 minutes of leaving the rental. I called to ask about the idiot light that was going off. The representative said that it was probably the tire pressure gauge.He told me to return and he would fix it.Really?? Isnt tire pressure on the checklist prior to sending a customer off with a vehicle?I returned to the rental agency in Poughkeepsie to check out the tires. The representative took the key fob from me. He got into the vehicle and said he would be right back. He returned 10 minutes later, said all fixed; I left and went on my way.Ten minutes later, I stopped at the grocery store. As soon as I shut the car off, I noticed that the key fob felt different. It looked different too. I tried to start the vehicle and received a message indicating that the key fob was not recognized. That incompetent representative gave me the Wrong Key Fob!!Fortunately, I was still close by the rental agency. However, I was so angry at that representative. What if I started my road trip and was miles away before I discovered the error.Stay away from Avis in Poughkeepsie, NY.

Unfortunately I have to give this Particular budget a star in order to tell you about and extremely unpleasant experience. The manager Took my money for the reservation I paid for only to drive 40 mins to find out they didn’t have it. Then offered to give me SOMEONE ELSE car that they paid for. I going to corporate for this. In desperate need of new management. WHY ARE YOU TAKING MONEY AND BOOKING CARS THAT ARE UNAVAILABLE!! Thefts

Charged 200$ for tolls. But I never used toll roads or bridges during that rental. Do not recommend.

I never write reviews on anything, but whoever the older man was working the front counter on 3/3/19 at around 11am was a complete d*ck. He was not only rude to me, He was rude to the customer in front of me, and he was even rude to a customer that had called. Very unpleasant. Will not come back to location.

Nothing but the highest of praise for the staff at Poughkeepsie. They were so friendly and welcoming and got us off on our holiday without fuss.They could do with helping the guy in New York to improve his customer relations...he needed a session at charm school! The Poughkeepsie staff were a great introduction to the firm, though.The car was clean; fuel efficient and very easy to operate. The big car park at Poughkeepsie allows those of us who normally drive manual cars, to have a quick practice.It was easy to pick up the car in Poughkeepsie and drop it back in New York. No problems with facilitating this at all.We always use Budget and this experience will ensure that we continue to do so. I cant praise them highly enough.

If you dont make it by 4 oclock on Saturday Pokepsie IBM road you will have to deliver the car to Stewart airport.

Small location, but car was ready with the equipment requested and a minimum amount of fuss.

I made a reservation on line and they wouldnt honor it as a matter of face manager stated that I have to call them first to check the availability otherwise they have the car but for double the price.
