I ordered something and the package said “delivered in mailbox” however it was not there, after 3-4 days still nothing. I put a sign up on the mail box asking for my neighbor to return it if they found it. Meanwhile, I called USPS, it took almost 2 hours of wait time and they said that the shop didn’t write my correct house number, I was very happy at the time because USPS actually helped me. However, I checked with the shop and the shop showed me the label with correct info. Yesterday my neighbor returned me the package and it had the correct address. Can’t believe USPS is blaming other small businesses just to get away with it.

You would think with the higher taxes we pay to live in Potomac there would be more than one or two Postal employees working the counter!It’s ridiculous the amount of time you can wait just for a simple transaction.Montgomery mall location manages so much better and courteous if worth the ten minute drive.

Enough poor reviews complaining about the same issues!! I was at the post office Friday, the line was out of the door. One staff at the counter. The other staff was in and out asking people to use self serve. I left after about 40min. I went to Westlake post office in Bethesda. About 3 people in line, one staff at counter! Staff from the back came to the counter to help. He was supposed to go on break, but chose to clear the line before he went on break. In Potomac post office, they dont take customer service that seriously! The other staff walking up and down trying to get people out of line, knows the better use of her time should be at the counter!!!

Im using this particular location for several years for different services and always got a very good service, therefore Im surprised for all those negative reviews. Ill be there tomorrow and will make another specific review.

Last week I posted a Yelp review and also one on this site. Though the line at this Potomac Post Office was out the door Monday - this morning - (with one clerk working, initially) the new supervisor again saw fit to harass the three waiting at the self-service machine. Why didn’t she go behind the desk so that another station was opened for that huge line? She yelled at customers to “have your cards out” - even though the machine does not require it to be inserted until the very end. Then she shocked everyone by barging right in on the woman who knew what she was doing, and was entering her package information on the screen. This worker pushed her aside and started typing on the screen. She then said she was “tired of being cussed out”, so it seems she has annoyed many people, including those who work with her. These tactics are the opposite of helpful.

I am very sad that my local post office mail man consistently drops off my mail at the wrong address. I just wish the mail men in charge of the potomac area to deliver mail to the correct address. Im so disheartened.

I usually get good to excellent customer service without too long a wait. The reason for the lowered star response is the number of delivery errors. In the last few weeks there have been multiple instances of my neighbors mail being delivered to my home.

I receive a package every two weeks of a medication for my dog. Every two weeks,the small package is delivered IN my mailbox. This past week, I was looking for it, surprised it was not there, and went to the tracking. Despite of the fact, it said it was delivered, I did not get it.So ..... I called the post office. The first lady was nice and told me that there is a GPS tracking when the postman registered the package as delivered.Three days later, after calling on a daily basis, someone told me that they have no clue where the package is (the value of it is around $160.00), and that the GPS location was not working that well.... and that who knows maybe the package was stolen, lost, delivered at the wrong address or delivered and I received it. Seriously? No wonder USPS is in the red with that kind of service!Implying that it was delivered and then I have nothing better to do than spending half of my day for the last four days on hold with USPS about a package that I have received makes a lot of sense. I asked the company who is sending me that med to just Fedex it. Additional charge but at least it works! USPS suck!

Got a pink slip to tell me I had a package. I go there with the slip. They can’t find my package. They take my pink slip and tell me they will call me. They never called. I have no idea what the package was, I suspect it’s for my new car. Now what! This sucks

I made an appt online to take my family in for renewed passports. The person who helped us was incredibly delightful, kind and efficient. It was the best passport renewal experience a person could ask for!

Was riding my horse on my driveway past their mail van that pulled up and watched one of the carriers get out and chuck a package on my porch. Like an eight foot throw right in front of me. Looked me in the eye afterwards and we just stared. I just shook my head at him and he got back in his van and drove away without saying anything. He knows what he did.

Do not even try to apply for a passport in this office. The passport office door is closed and you have no clue where to find the person. I have made an appointment and waited for 20 minutes and no one showed up. And when I asked for help the worker on the office is extremely rude. And told me to reschedule

I really like my post office and my postal service. They are always extremely nice and super friendly. I called and spoke to Crystal and she was extremely friendly and a pleasure to speak with.She even gave me a called back with regards to my concerns. Its hard to be great especially when John Q public is always looking for reason to bring you down.KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!

The manager here is extremely rude! Careful! Don’t try to ask her for answer you any questions. Also, the place is really disorganized by her so be patient.

Excellent experience tracking down a package that was mistakenly sent to our old PO Box, instead of our new out-of-state one. The gentlemen who helped (and who handle PO Boxes) resolved the issue almost immediately, and very professionally. We had a PO Box there for a few years and, after standing in many a line there, can attest to the fact that many of the bad reviews here are likely written by self-important nouveau riche sociopaths who don’t understand that the world doesn’t work around them. Aside from the sometimes understaffed main area and hectic parking right off a busy street, we usually had consistently pleasant experiences. It’s surprisingly easy to have positive interactions with public servants if you’re not pretentious d*ckheads to them all the time.

This is my local USPS so i have been here a few times, the parking lot is a small space with few parking spaces. The inside is kind of messy and unorganized. Service is extremely bad and employees are rude and disrespectful. My mail sometimes comes extremely damaged, torn, or opened. Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

Fraudulent delivery practices. I had a package to be delivered to my business on a Saturday, but the office building was closed. The tracking info noted Delivered though so I panicked, wondering where my package was. Upon calling the post office, I was told: Your package will be delivered today maam; yes, even though we marked it delivered on Saturday, it will be delivered today (Monday). Okay so WHY mark the package delivered? Ill tell you why: to be able to claim that they delivered the package by the deadline. Incredibly shady and downright fraudulent.

Thiis is in reference to the two services offered by the Potomac Post OfficeThey have the Phone off the hook so the passport renewal office cannot be reached. I have personally gone to the post office and they told me to try reaching this nonworking number again.The office staff is pleasant but it is disorganized, slow and completely inefficient. waited in line for 25 minutes with 4 people ahead of me just to mail 1 letter to Canada.

They are supposed to bring my nail to my porch. It happens inconsistently. I cant go to mailbox. My mail sat in box 4 days this last week, until someone in family could come. When I call, they are rude to me, no matter the subject. They busy out their phone all the time so difficult to call them. I gave 2 stars because my normal carrier is very nice

0 out of 5 -Super bad service. Called many times, worker said: I will call you back. But, She never called me back. I have to call again next day, she said the same thing: I will call you back. Never did. Finally, I understand, she just said that to hung up my phone.

Mail carriers are horrible. Ive had issues over the course of over a year with several mail carriers that improperly handle packages resulting in significant damage, including items that cannot be replaced. It started with boxes being thrown at the door, breaking the contents inside. Then boxes were being left in the rain although there is a clearly defined and covered area at the front door. Now, most recently, packages containing books have been forcefully shoved into the mailbox, even breaking hard cover bindings and rendering them useless. This has occurred to shutter-fly albums, family photographs, amazon books, and books from subscriptions for my kids that cannot be replaced without incurring fees. Seems like USPS standards and employee training is severely deficient here.

Consistently put me on hold for 45 minutes at a time. Unfriendly in person and on the phone. Make false claims on the tracking saying theyve left notices when they havent. Never call back when they say they are going to and then get upset when I call back.

Absolutely disgusting on how a place who gives such bad service stays on business. Would have given a 0 if there is one.Amazon shouldnt even do business with them but unfortunately this is the case. Ordered something from Amazon, called USPS for help in tracking the package and I was basically told to wait until my mail/package delivery arrive and see if what I was waiting on is there. Really?

I receive horrible service. They confuse addresses all the time, not delivering mail or delivering it to wrong people and delivering packages to wrong addresses. Mailman keeps changes all the time, no consistency. Frequently neighbors bringing us our letters or our open packages, because they were delivered to them. No attentiveness distributing mail. Horrible!

I have been trying all day (9/26/2016) to get my post office in Potomac MD to respond on the phone with only a busy signal for a response. There is no email address posted so I cant use that. The service is disappointing and would not happen in the private sector.

Bad service. They said they cant delivered and left a notice. But, I cant find the notice after check everywhere. I was at home all the time and I didnt see them. I am not sure if they really come or not.

The post office itself is very good, fast service and courteous. The mail delivery for 20854 is terrible, often delivered to the wrong house and most of my neighbors redeliver the mail.

Poor service in such a good area. I tried mailing something to Washington State, forgot the zip code and the clerk was unable to find it, come to find out that she had been spelling the city wrong everytime. She told me after 10 mintues of standing there with her, after waiting an hour to get to the counter. She told me to go try the self service machine. She never mentioned to me that the self service machine does not take packages so I felt like an idiot, I left the building went to my car and googled the address myself and went back in and stood in line once more. Try to avoid this post office at all costs, you will waste your lunch hour and thensome!

Really bad service. Valuable packages left at different house(s). Maybe 6-7 this past year. And when they found one from Costco at the wrong address (when I called on Wed. when tracking said they delivered it Saturday), they got it from where they had delivered it incorrectly and left it at the curb by my mailbox...opened too! No idea how long it had been there but I got a call from a friend driving by alerting me to it. I have written Costco and Amazon and advised I will not continue buying from them if they use USPS for deliveries. Oh, and once when I complained a few months ago in person to the station supervisor she advised she didnt have time to take my complaint/information as there were customers waiting. I asked since I had waited in line like everyone else for my turn, had my mail delivered from this post office, and had serious problems to discuss, why wasnt I a customer needing service. The USPS needs to be eliminated and mail service contracted out to third parties IMO.

Mail is always ridiculously late! we are a Dental Office and close at 3:00PM.. And these guys bring mail after 5:00PM or Later sometime.. Tired of requesting with the manager to have business mails to be delivered first...
