So far have not been impressed when observing our son work with Emily. Late, unorganized, and not prepared with the material. Does not seem to have teacher qualifications as she reads long paragraphs confusing for kids to even understand the directions. Maybe better luck if we have another teacher.

10-09-20Portsmouth Sylvan is changing our lives! My 2 children are excelling so quickly with the help of the knowledgeable and super friendly teachers!My children kept going all summer with Sylvan and are still going 2 visits per week.While the pandemic, strange summer, remote end of the year last year stopped normal learning for a lot of kids My kids kept on going to Sylvan every week! Not only are they getting caught up academically like our original plan in 19/20, now they are excelling. I am hearing from them how they are ahead of the same peer group from last year that didn’t have the benefit of Sylvan Language Arts. Their peers had a big academic slide, sad but true. Not us!!They are doing ‘excellent’ actually My kids getting A’s & B’s last year was a dreamy possibility. Now with Sylvan Portsmouth they are doing it!We were even out for 7 school days related to the pandemic in September. They did remote school and handled it really well because of their experiences with Sylvan!They are back Full Time Face to Face School now and didn’t skip a beat! They have Sylvan twice a week after school. Their education is right on track! They are going to be just fine academically because of Sylvan Portsmouth!Thank You Sooooo Much for changing our lives!Stacey Remillard

A very good experience with Sylvan helping my son get caught back up after a difficult year with remote school.

I have been very impressed with the approach to learning taken by Sylvan, it has worked well for my son. The instructors have done a great job finding the right balance between encouragement and challenge. My son has really enjoyed the classes he has attended!

My son has been attending Sylvan for Math support, on and off, the last several years. This gives him great support outside the classroom both with homework, and solidifying what was presented in the classroom. He has also attended in the summer, which enables him to keep his math skills sharp for the coming school year.Whether your child just needs a boost, or ongoing support, I highly recommend Sylvan.

Over the past few months we have needed tutoring: first for taking the SSAT, and then for math and some reading comprehension skills. The SSAT test went very smoothly thanks to the tutoring prep and we are very pleased with our childs new found confidence in both math and reading.Thank you Sylvan!

I have two children enrolled at Sylvan at this time. It’s been almost 6 weeks and although the progress is slow it has been steady. I have seen my child grow in confidence after a bad relationship with math and for that I am grateful. Instructors have been nice and administration is very responsive. The price is a little steep but I’m hopeful that it is totally worth it.
