Sheila is hands down the best barber in town. I’ve gone to her a few times and every time she exceeds my expectations. She is very precise and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend if you are looking for a good quality haircut.

Been seeing Sheila for 3 or 4 years now. Never had any issue, and always love my cut. Super clean in the shop and Sheila is always incredibly friendly. Truly the best place in town, which is why I keep going back! New location is also huge!

I went once and it was a great time. I was 15 minutes late to an appointment today and received a phone call with someone telling me “my time is precious, don’t ever book with me again” over and over. I couldn’t get a word in edge wise to explain or apologize for my mistake to try to make it right. I will not be going back. I’m shocked at hour they treated customer. A simple “you missed your appointment” would have been fine.

Shelia is the best! I have been going to the man cave for 5 years, the new place in Hannaford Plaza is awesome big and clean the decor is really awesome Boston sports pictures everywhere. The hair cuts are high quality and quick. Definitely recommend going there best barber around.

I have found my forever barber. I’ve tried many places over the years and I will say the man cave is by far the best. Typically I hate having my hair cut but this time I love it, feeling good about a haircut will lift spirits and self confidence. I booked an appointment and went in the wrong day and she spent her lunch hour cutting my hair. I highly recommend this place.

I have been getting my haircut here for about six years. Before I discovered Sheila, I had been going from place to place around town and it was very hard to find a decent haircut. Ever since my first haircut here I have been more than satisfied. Sheila is very professional and very talented, and making appointments is so easy. She always gets my haircut right and she has so many good products to offer for the care of it. I have even started to bring my four year old son to get his cuts and he loves it too.This is a fantastic place to come for a fantastic haircut, shave, and a beer at a great price. Highly recommend.

The man cave is hands-down THE best place to get a cut in Portsmouth. Tucked away on Ladd Street, it’s a bit of a hidden gem. Sheila is an expert at what she does and constantly stays up on the current styles. She’ll take her time to make sure you’re happy with your cut. A+

Ive been here twice now. Sheila is friendly and really easy to get along with, and more importantly, super talented at her craft. Great haircut both times. This is my place now. Shes great at what she does and Im not the only one thats noticed this. You should schedule first. I dont like calling to schedule haircuts--some weird man aversion like asking for directions--but her online booking system is super convenient and just my style. Appointments are easy to book online and walk-ins are usually only a short wait. When you walk in you are always greeted with a warm welcome. If there is a someone still in the chair, Sheila and her staff are always very hospitable and offer clients a beverage while they wait. I have never received anything less than excellent haircut and beard trim...and I am very particular about my beard. I recommend the man cave to anyone new to the sea coast or looking for a great haircut!

First time in, looking for a new reputable barber. Will definitely be returning.Popped in at ~5pm after work and got right into the seat with no-one else the entire 40 mins for cut, beard trim and shampoo. Very friendly and experienced. Felt much more personal than most shops. I feel good, and most importantly, look good!

Have seen Sheila here several times now, and have always had a great experience. She is warm and friendly, but most importantly, gives a great haircut. I usually let her trim my beard and she has never done anything offensive with the line. She gives sharp fades that arent missing any angles. She even offers a complimentary drink with every cut, and not just a crappy light beer! Last time I went she had Gentleman Jack.Give the Man Cave a shot, you wont be disappointed.

I am writing this review in regards to the owner Sheila. It has come to my attention that the owner of this company aired out all of my personal information on someone else’s review of their establishment. Talking about classless and disrespectful, thankfully you don’t know where I work. This response has made me feel very uncomfortable. Also if your name is on my head you should probably hire employees who don’t have Parkinson’s disease chattering their trimmers across my head. I tipped because I would like to consider myself a decent human being knowing this is how people make a living. I did not ask for it to be fixed because if any more was taken off it could not be saved. I stopped your employee before it was too far gone.I would also like to make it a point that this owner Sheila decided it would be a good idea to run next door to cuss out the owners of lash bar, whom have nothing to do with my hair cut.My advice would be to carefully consider getting your hair cut here before walking in.

Moved to the west coast almost a month ago now and I’m sad I don’t have the man cave anymore. I miss heading here after work, getting a beer from Sheila and sitting down for a consisitantly great haircut. The prices were great, with military discount it was the same price as great clips except I received an actual good haircut. I’ll definitly be going back every time I’m in the area visiting family.

Thank you so much Kenny Ferg for cutting my hair that was long over due today since I go to UNH and my hair cutter at home is getting old and is less and less available. Never had a barber who put so much class and style into my hair. So if you live anywhere in Durham, Portsmouth, Kittery, Somersworth, hit up The Man Cave and don’t go to any other hair cut place except for this one!
