First time coming to this place. My barber paid great attention to detail and made sure I felt comfortable every step of the way. Everything was nice and clean and most importantly the staff were enjoying there job and every guest felt it. I’m definitely going to be a return customer.

Nate and his team are excellent. I had been going to Scuttlebutt for several years before the pandemic and I have had to go to other barbers in the area due to time/location constraints since. Just got a cut and beard trim today and was reminded how skilled and professional Nate and his team are and am so happy with the results.

So I was able to get a walk in appointment. They guy who did my hair was friendly and accommodated me with his limited time. Prices were very fair. If I get the chance Ill go back.

Just got my haircut done yesterday! Im a regular here and Ill say that all barbers here do a great job and are very precise. They even offer drinks!

Best place to get a fade, clean up, beard trimmed, etc. They even do a hot lather and hot face towels. Complete full grooming experience. Most of the barbers are skilled in cutting all types of hair textures. Accessible schedule. Military discounts/military and family friendly. Very welcoming environment for all folks.

Love this place. The guy that owns this place is sometimes quite funny. He is also a great barber but i really just go here for the free drinks and to be harassed. Seriously though, its a great haircut from any of the barbers here, military discount, large TVs for the game and comfortable leather seats (if you have to wait). They also do a great shave and have lots of grooming products available.

Wonderful service. Best haircuts on the Seacoast. Nate is the owner and is a really cool guy. Rebecca is a wonderful person to have cut your hair. I highly recommend going here and nowhere else. Im not even sure why other places bother. If you arent convinced yet, just head to Great Clips or something.

Have been going to Scuttlebutt barbershop for 10 months or so, and Nate has never disappointed me. Gives me the best haircut I could ask for, and is very enjoyable to talk with. Even on special occasions where I had to work late in the evening beyond his opening hours, but needed a haircut for an event on the following day, Nate accommodated me and kept his shop open late at night for my convenience, and that was only after meeting him once before! Don’t know any other barber that is willing to help a stranger like that. If you’re going somewhere else, you’re making a big mistake.

Nate gave me the best haircut Ive had in years! Ive tried other local shops as well as the bigger chains. No one is doing it as well or with as good a touch as Scuttlebutt. 10/10 recommend.

Ive got an oddly shaped head and getting a good haircut has always been difficult for me.Had my hair cut today by Nate the owner & master barber and for the first time in my adult life I walked out of a barbershop liking the way I look.By far the best barbershop in Portsmouth and Im never going anywhere else to get my hair cut in Portsmouth, NH.

I’ve been to Scuttlebutt Barbershop several times. It’s nice to find a consistently good and professional shop. I always walk out happy and looking great. They also do a great shave. Not sure how they keep their hands so soft!

Grew up nearby (Durham) and now live in Chicago with a toddler. Scuttlebutt is the *best* place I’ve found for kids’ haircuts. Every time I’m in town with the kiddo to visit family, I make a point to take him here for a haircut! They do a better job than the kids’ place we have in Chicago, and charge less. Ambiance is classy. Wish we were closer so we could be regulars.

Im a big fan of Scuttlebutt Barbershop. The barbers are always consistent with high quality of service and competency. The environment is great too. Its a barbershop with a traditional, hometown feel. Definitely a five star establishment.

Scuttlebutt is by far the best in the area. After moving to the seacoast recently and trying a few other less impressive options Scuttlebutt was recommended to me by a friend. They havent let me down since and are very reasonably priced. Nate and his team are solid, its definitely worth a visit.

I usually go to the Newmarket location but got the chance to go here today and as usual the service, atmosphere, and shop are top notch. Nate and his crew truly get it. Men who come out of Scuttlebutt are obviously intelligent, successful, and well-groomed. Nathan is offering Portsmouth a new level of self care for men that will prove to make his barbershop very popular and Portsmouth more interesting.

This place opened up sometime mid 2018. Nate, the owner, is a Master Barber and opened his first location in Newmarket a few years back. Ive been going since then, and I couldnt fathom going anywhere else. Ive actually moved away from the area but I still drive in to get my hair cut.There are big comfortable chairs to wait in when you walk in. The tunes are always well curated and theyll even offer you a coffee, water or beer. You wont be disappointed.Reservations are highly recommended for this high-end barber shop.

Great looking shop with a convenient street / lot parking nearby, comfy chairs, very welcoming and hospitable as always, and youll always leave with a great haircut whether you choose the Newmarket or Portsmouth location.
