This is just MY experience,I walk a walk-in and accommodated to an immediate appointment. Thank you. I was given accurate rates.I came in to get my dip acrylics removed from elsewhere. Normal procedure: foil, acetone, cotton ball. However, a freshly boiled glass bowl of water I was to submerge my hands into… metal retains lots of heat. I was given no instruction. I could keep my hands submerged, as would singe my skin, so the nail glue and dip was partially still on. My hands were handle with uncertainty most my entire visit. I’m not sure if the tech was new, but I’ve never had my hands treated in such an odd way. We presume to do my gel. No mani. Was it because I didn’t get a manicure? I couldn’t help but think. When base layering and what not, I felt it was sloppy, but figured I’d wait for the result. When the tech presumed to polish my nails, the first and only question I asked before starting, is if my cuticles could please be pushed back. They gladly said yes, and never followed through. Okaaay? I thought… when clipping my nails I was never asked about shape or length. They were mostly different lengths. And the shapes are square rounded and some asymmetrical with pointed corners. So, I brought it up and pointed out some nails, asking if they could even out my nails. They nodded. And never followed through. Next, the gel polish. I repeatedly had to ask for lint and nail fibers to be removed that were giving bulges in the polish, and that doesn’t even account for the final look that has both fibers, bubbles under the polish (exploding the nail,) lot of brown specks not sure what that’s even from. I asked if the nail polish could me removed from off my skin. My nails are stuck to my fingers in several spots from the polish and on the other side of my fingers.If this nail tech is new, then I think it’s okay as long as you offer the option, and maybe offer a discount. This left me wondering; was it my race, or the fact that I didn’t want a manicure because I didn’t like the lack of care I was getting, is it because I was a walk in? I usually tip 20-25%, I rarely go less is unheard of, and I honestly felt it was nice for me to tip over 10%. I don’t mind if the didn’t speak English. I love my neighbors of all races creeds and otherwise. But if that’s the case and I’m speaking, asking questions please don’t just say yes, ask me to relay the Q by pointing as another person or something.I honestly am so confused. Idk what I did wrong or how to prevent this. I should have gone to my normal nail salon, but I was away from home.I’m literally going to have to take an emery board to my nails to even it and get it from off my sides and bottom of finger where it’s merged to my skin.If they didn’t have time for me, just say so. This appointment was really disappointing.Sometimes customers just need a bit more information.This is just MY experience. The lady behind me, I heard saying how she doesn’t go anywhere else and loves it there.Maybe it was just a bad nail day… it happens, I guess, right?

Ive been coming to EXP Salon for about a year and a half. I had tried a few other salons but never felt very welcome. The gals at EXP are just delightful. Cindy has been doing my nails and making adorable designs the whole time. Shes my favorite. She gives the best arm massages.

Best shellac mani/ pedi in town! Like others mentioned, they pay so much attention to detail and take their time!! That has been my issue with other places, they rush to be done with me and on to the next customer. Not once did I feel that at EXP. Hue did an amazing job! I am so pleased to have found someone I can go see consistently!

Cindy is very good with my problem toes and I am always happy with the results. The atmosphere is calm with quiet music and muted travel shows on the TVs.

First time here today and loved this place. Technicians were professional, incredibly detailed, and took their time to ensure it was done correctly. Very relaxing. They include paraffin with the mani/pedi as well, which is really nice. My nails look fabulous, I will be back! I would highly recommend!

This is my go to for gel manicures and pedicures. The salon is very clean, all the techs very professional and friendly. The gel lasts so long, much longer than all the other salons I’ve tried, and that is a lot. They also do the extras like paraffin for manis and pedis. The only thing I’d change is more upbeat music!

They always work me in last minute and do a good job for about $30-40 for a pedi

I am a regular at this salon and I was there at the same time as Lindsey (who gave 3 bad reviews) . It is totally unreasonable for a clinician to remove a SHELLAC pedicure and do a regular pedicure in an HOUR! Let’s get real😫. She was rude and disruptive. They offered to do it again at any time, but she refused. Please don’t let her negativity keep you from one of the cleanest, finest salons in greater Portland with easy parking and super gals❤️

Ive been trying different nail salons in the area and this one by far is the best. There are some great ones in the area, dont get me wrong, but none compare in quality and pricing. Not only do they do a great job, but theyre so sweet and nice. The pricing is so reasonable as well.

My fiance and i came here to get nails done for our wedding. I called when they opened and made an appointment. We came in at 1 pm on Tuesday. It was so dead that the lady sitting at one of the desks didnt hear us come in? after a second of waiting for her to notice, i said hello? which finally got her attention. It didnt get much better for me.The lady doing my pedicure couldnt understand that i wanted a flower on my big toe. She just stared at me blankly until i pulled up a picture on my phone. She then messed up 3 times and the resulting flower wasnt what i wanted but at this point i wasnt sure she would get it. She left polish on my feet and then on to the mani.At this point 3 other ladies had walked in and there were only 3 women total working. My fiance didnt mind but has had next to no experience. The lady doing his nails was bouncing back and forth between him and one of the new ladies. It seemed like they really rushed his massaging which was half the point of him coming with me since he wasnt getting polish put onFor my manicure i had a short nail so i asked her to even out my nails to that shorter length and do square tips. She cut way too much and rounded all my tips. And they arent even straight! She asked if i liked the shape of my tips and the finger she showed me was okay. She proceeded to do the other ones much thicker and she kept missing parts of my nail with the white french tip. I kept trying to point them out but at this point she had taken over 90 minutes and we were going to be late for our next appointment. I had asked for a silver line with my french tip and again looked at me with a completely dumbfounded stare . Another lady came over to explain and show her but she still took a while to understand. She ended up putting about 7 coats of polish on my nails which is WAY too many. and she coated over my skin. I was so flustered and we were late i just wanted to get out of there as fast as i could because she was causing me major anxiety.For over $100 for nails to have my fingers look chipped, crooked and have her paint gel on my skin that took all of 1 hand wash to peal my thumb nail i will NEVER come back and warn everyone i know to stay away. Worse nail experience i have had and for my wedding nails just makes it worse. I will be going somewhere else to get it fixed.

They made an apointment with me that took a hour. The lady snow messed up my toes and I still paid full price. Even after explaining I took an extended lunch to have this done.

Could not do an ombre nail color for my wedding. Said it would cost a lot extra just to blend the color. The other girl laughed when the one girl said that.Also she left a ton of nail polish on my arm. The UV light thing was broken and stung my hand super bad.The lady was on the phone the whole time.We got lectured for coming in and adding an eyebrow wax on top of our appointment because they had to turn someone away because they were under staffed.Terrible experience. Never again. Oh and my eyebrows arent even!

Had a full set put on a week ago yesterday and I’ve noticed they started to grow out and part of the acrylic is on top of my cuticle and as it grows out the part that is stuck is stretching out my skin. I went in to ask them to look at it and she insisted it was just that my nail haven’t grown out yet (even though 1/2 of one of my nails had grow out and the other 1/2 was pulling my skin with it). I was trying to show her but she just kept saying it wasn’t on top of my cuticle and that my nails just grow really slow. Ended up getting frustrated, walking out, and having another salon remove it and they confirmed what I was saying and had to soak off the acrylic so it didn’t rip my skin off during the removal process. So bummed as I just wasted 3 hours of my weekend and had to pay to have them remove/ another set out back on.

You can always make an appointment the same day or just walk in. They do not run a turn and burn (get you in the chair/get you out) service. They NEVER make you feel rushed like so many other places. Great Service and less expensive than most. I would make this a 5 star but there is one gal in there that tends to be a little rough but everyone is very friendly.

Ive come to this salon a few times and always had a great experience, but after today I wont be going back. I made an appointment to get my pedicure done after work. When I got there I can hear from the back room someone coughing at the top of their lungs and out of the four available ladies the one coughing is going to do my pedi. Great.Not only did she cough all over my feet and her hands she was using (she didnt have the decency to cough away or in to her arm). Halfway through the pedicure, she coughs so loud she spits her cough drop to the floor, looks at me- laughs it off and leaves it in the floor. It was disgusting. I went in for a relaxing time and instead left in a bad mood, grossed out and probably with her cold and cough. Super unsanitary and awful experience. They couldve had any other lady do my pedicure and send her home. No need to get ur customers sick.

I have been getting mani/pedis here for over 10 years now. Tracy was always meticulous but no longer available. Sarah now does my nails and always meticulous as well. A very clean, professional, and friendly environment.

This was my second visit. The first I asked for a mani and pedi. Got the pedi and sat in the shop for 2 and a half hours. When I asked how much longer for my nails I was told Oh we didnt know you wanted nail done. Today I call in advance and informed them I wanted a full set and a pedicure. They said my toe nails were too long to cut as low as I wanted them (which is why I wanted a pedicure...39 dollars for feet that look like eagle feet. Then when I get to the nail table expecting a full set of shellacked nails the tech proceeds to cut my nails down and I asked if she knew I wanted a full set. She said, oh yes. I do shellac. She gives me a manicure and again I ask about the full set. They tell me they didnt know thats what I wanted. I was pissed! For New years my hands look like a first grader and my feet look like I could use them for deep sea fishing. Never again! The shop is so close to my house I gave them 2 changes. 72 dollars for a terrible experience. An awful expensive lesson.😠😡Today is January 3rd and by now all of the shellac applied to my thumb has popped off as if it were an artificial nail. Who ever has had to come back and add to a bad review of services rendered? SMH!😡

I always get excellent mani/pedis here and the staff is so friendly and go above and beyond. For instance, I ended up scraping my toe and ruining the polish hours after a pedi. Naturally, I was worried they would be annoyed when I came in later that day asking for a touch up, but they were nothing but sweet about the whole situation.

I came in to have my nails fixed from another salons bad job and Sarah (sp?) did a wonderful job!
