It has occurred to me that these agencies do not help people of color as much as they do the rest. I have submitted my materials to their website several times, spoke a human once, and after several emails, got a response after 4 months. A quick conversation, and then another drop off. We are not the priority, because our placements do not profit them. For a town that claims to give folks of color opportunities, I do not see that reflected at any of the companies Ive visited. I hope this is able to at least start a dialog about how broken the recruiting/hiring process in this town is.
