I received a letter from Jenn Thompsons Allstate insurance office. The letter started: Thank you for requesting a personalized homeowners insurance quote I NEVER requested anything from her. I have never met her nor am I shopping for insurance.It then said; Based on the information provided I NEVER provided any information to Jenn or her office. I have NEVER met Jenn nor am I shopping for insurance.It then said: based on assumptions we have made about information contained in the credit report(s) we obtainedThis is outrageous and a blatant breach of personal privacy. I have NEVER contacted her office. I have no idea who she is. I have never asked her about a insurance quote. What gives her the right to run a credit report in my name? This should be illegal. Legal or illegal, at this moment I dont know, But I do know, it is an extremely offensive way to conduct business. It is a blatant breach of the publics demand for personal privacy protection. I will be sending a complaint letter to the State of Oregon Department of Justice Consumer Protection Bureau with a copy of her highly questionable marketing form letter.
