This was our first time in portage. We looked around for a dine in restaurants. Found this gem of a place. The food was amazing. The atmosphere was cozy. The service we received was exceptional. First time ever seeing bacon jam. We asked for a sample. They brought us out a sample and we loved the taste. So we ordered a burger with bacon jam. It was great. Upon paying. We asked if we could buy some to take home. Since we live more than an hour from portage. The server said yes.This place is definitely worth the drive.

First time trying out this restaurant. We walked in and not to busy and I was impressed by the tables and how clean it was. The waiter was at our table very quickly and the service was excellent. We were treated very well and the food was very good. I would give the food a 4 stars and that is good in my book. The beer was cold and overall the atmosphere was great. I will be back.

It had been over a year since my last stop at Lodo Company; usually getting an order to go. I was greeted at door for seating preference. I told him I wanted to get a food to go order, have a beverage while waiting.He directed me to the bar to place my order.I asked him if I could take my drink outside to the small patio area. (Nice sunny afternoon it was). After I placed my order and received my drink I asked the bartenderDion Fromman about a small card on the bar that referenced the Michigan COVID-19 Contact tracing. (I had down loaded the app to my phone months ago). Dion explained its purpose, and interjected most establishments have been participating with such communication; that being a choice for the customer. Its one of their ways in keeping community safe...if I did not see such posting in my next endeavor of eating out, I should inquire.I sat on the patio briefly, and a young lady (Kristen Schoder) brought my order out.I asked her about the process of the barcode with link to Michigan Department of Health; she acknowledged she would walk me through it and we went back inside. Kristen held the small card at an angle so I could scan the bar code.I scanned the bar code, and entered someInformation as my name and email address.Thank you Dion and Kristen for enlightening me in practices to maintain health safety in the community.Masks required to enter: employees wearing masks. Bar stools sat long the bar for social distancing. Tables for seating up to 4 individuals also spaced.Oh yes; my order of Beef Quesida was great!So great, I forgot to take pic of the order... Just as I remembered.

What happened to this place. Went out on a Friday evening at 7pm hoping to have a nice dinner for our anniversary. Bad choice! They used to have a good menu selection but now is mainly bar type food. The garlic parm wings had no flavor, correction, tasted like bland fried chicken. The place was not very busy where other places we could not even get into. It was also very dirty. On a positive note, Kyla our waitress was very friendly. Sorry Lodo, but you lost more customers.

Pretty disappointed... place was pretty empty around 6pm, a few tables were occupied. Ordered the patty melt VERY disappointed. Bread was delicious, but the portion size of the burger patty (think cooked on your home grill size) was dwarfed compared to the massive rye bread. This made for a very messy and poor culinary experience. The green beans were AMAZING perfectly seasoned and tossed in whatever it was tossed in made them delicious.My server Amanda was very attentive and friendly you could tell she genuinely was happy and wanted to providean exceptional dinning experience. I was seated right away which was nice. Food preparation time was great. Even the table behind me had their three appetizers in the time it took the bartender to mix two martinis.Price was fair for what was given. If it weren’t for the deliciousness of the green beans and the high caliber experience Amanda offered I’d have given this review 1 Star.In the time of Covid restrictions and a suffering economy I expected better from LoDo Company.

Its my 21st birthday! And this place has some amazing drinks! They have this cider that is incredible called Zombie Killer. Have to try it. Their food is really good too. They have some unique items as well as some normal but amazing meals. Their wings are pretty good and they also have decent calamari! The atmosphere here is pretty decent as well. For being in a strip mall type location, it seems like it may not be a true brick and mortar bar, but the moment you walk in, that all changes. Its wonderful. Please come here and have a wonderful time!

My partner and I visited Lodo Company recently for their comedy night. It was a quality experience! We had the roasted cauliflower appetizer, Which was tastey. The staff was helpful finding us an unreserved seat at the bar. The facilities are up to date and well maintained.

Ordered Mother’s Day dinner and it did not disappoint!! Not only were they on time and I didn’t have to wait for my curbside delivery, the prime rib, mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts were amazing!!! Thank you for a delicious meal!

Delicious food!

I visited around 1:30 (late lunch, very few in the restaurant) and ordered the beef burrito special ($9 for burrito, lettuce, tomato, sour cream, tortilla chips and salsa). The burrito was okay, stuffed with rice, black beans, and very little ground beef. The chips were stale and the salsa nothing special. As my rating indicates, it was just okay. Service was good and the atmosphere okay as well. Would I return? As the choices in the immediate area are few, I would return if hungry but probably not choose Lo Do if time is not a factor.

I really like the idea of supporting local restaurants. I think this place has a lot of potential. The ambience is great, and the staff was friendly and attentive, but not too much. The menu lists a large variety of tempting foods. I gave only 3 stars because our margaritas were the worst (sourest) weve ever had- we took a couple of sips and left the rest. Also, the penne noodles in my dish were not cooked enough, and the sauce tasted too much like straight olive oil, even though it had spices added. My husbands Reuben was mediocre. He told me to say, Lodo is so-so. I can say it was great for my weight-loss diet, because I didnt eat or drink much there. I hope the owners and staff dont get too discouraged with this review. I think, with some attention and tweaking to the flavor of their food and drink, this could be a really great restaurant!

I hosted my Husbands birthday in the private room and had over 50 people attend. All the appetizers I ordered were so good and a beautiful presentation. All the guests raved about the food and hidden gem of a room. Steve, Kristen and our waitress Korin were attentive and professional. Thank you for a great night!

Ive eaten there a handful of times now, making sure I sample different items from the menu. So far I have been impressed every time, whether it be a signature entree, or a burger at lunch, its all great. you can tell care is given in the kitchen. Wait staff is on point and the dining area is very well kept. I have not been up to the bar yet, but I have ordered a few drinks made at the bar and they too have all been on point. If youre in Portage, MI try this place.

Locally owned and the owner is always there to guarantee great food and service. They have so many good food options that I cant begin to list them. Go in a stranger and leave a friend.

Went in to have a beer and appetizer. Waited more than 5 minutes while the bartender was talking to a friend. When she did take my beer order her friend came and stood next to me as they continued the conversation. A beer that was supposed to be clear was hazy and had off flavors. The bartender was too busy talking to her friend to offer me a menu.

This is a gem hidden away in Portage great friendly staff. Absolutely awesome bar tending team. Cozy wood top bar and fantastic food.

Always a great place for food and drinks

We went Sunday night about 8pm Not busy but our waiter kept disappearing. I can have empathy when you are busy, when you have one other table, not so much. I ordered a New York Reuben and it had NO flavor, was greasy and soggy, would have returned it but, again, you had to find a waiter to do so. My companions Ultimate burger was better, but not much, I ended up with tummy issues in the middle of the night. We did learn where NOT to eat

Not clean, terrible customers service

Decent place overall, but service falls completely apart when its busy, and my garden burger was served cold in the middle. The entire dining room seemed to be served by one person. I think its time for LoDo to shut. Portage needs a new industrial bar. 20 years ago I guess this place was okay.

Its been years since Ive been to Lodo and after this visit I think I remember why its been so long. Both of our drinks were horrible, the food was okay, and the service wasnt great. Its so loud in there, even sitting in the restaurant side its hard to hear your friends/family when they talk. If I ever go back it will be several more years.

I used to work with Steve at Pappys. I love that guy and I love his new restaurant. I wish I could come here weekly :)

Started off by having to wait to be seated at lunch due to no staff present in the dining area and an absent minded host. Drinks came and they were watered down (presumably due to nobody changing the syrup boxes although in my experience they must have been out for a long time based on how flavorless my beverage was). Now onto the service and food, Got a chicken sandwich that had guacamole all over the outside of it and a serious lack of effort put into the sandwich in general. I asked for no tomato and got it anyways, the onion was literally just a thick cross section of red onion (way too much for one sandwich), I had a pile of spinach on the sandwich that was as large as the rest of the sandwich put together by the time I remade my own sandwich. Their manager watched me do this and said nothing to me during the entire visit. We didnt see our actual waitress at all after the food came, had to have someone get her just to get our checks and by no means were they busy on any level. All around I would say dont waste your time or your money, these people do not deserve it in an industry that is bursting at the seams with competition.. they do absolutely nothing to ensure your visit is any different than going to McDonalds and if I managed there I would be ashamed.

Love the turkey burger here. I miss it so much. Stay away from the pizza, its rubbery and gross and really only on the menu for kids.

Ordered chicken parmesan. That was not what I was expecting. The Pasta was bland. The chicken was very chewy. My wife had fish and chips. The fish was very greasy. The fries were good tho.

I always want to support the non-chain restaurants. I order the Gorgonzola Ribeye Steak. Comes with only one side. If you want a salad it is extra. When you get a steak dinner you should get a salad, vegetables, and a potato. Not the case at Lodo Company. Steak was excessively fatty and chewy to boot. Not going back.
