Very good place. The staff are exceedingly helpful although underpaid. They genuinely care about their residents. Food is served and was always very good. Most definitely would go back there if necessary
Great staff. Great food. Clean place. Suggestion clients need cold drinks and ice available 24/7 as the weather is getting warmer and residents are having to be outdoors for 2 to 3 hour periods of time during low staff times.
They helped me when I was homeless and now I love checking in on people who are in need. I learned from them helping me and now I help others.
Ive sent people here to get food. They are very generous when it comes to helping people who cant afford groceries. I signed up to volunteer here as well.
Its okay they try to help you out the best way they can
The coalition helps those in need while also helping to serve our homeless community to get them back on there feet!
Good hearted people here. Really looking to help others.
The employees and volunteers do an outstanding job with the amount of residents that they serve. Each resident is cared for like family. If they dont have an answer they will find one.
Helpful when needed
Good people there that help you out a lot
Caring people providing meals for the community every day. Really good food in a restaurant- like setting allow folks to enjoy meals with family or friends. Go for a meal if you are in the area or better yet, volunteer to help cook and/ or serve. You will be glad you did.
Its great for all veterans but for others got a have seniority..
They are very helpful. Understanding of a persons needs.
I think they should honestly care more about the campers out in the woods then the shelter residents because non shelter residents need supplies for camping like tents, tarps, bug spray, blankets and pillows etc. The only time they help people with housing and jobs is when you are in the shelter. They do more help with the residents of the shelter but not the non residents which really upsets the ones that are being ignored.
Went out and nobody would even talk to me or set up an appt with me
We delivered warm clothing, blankets and pillows to be distributed to the people in need. The facility was giving away oranges at the time. It was very neat, clean and orderly. We were impressed with everyone there. I would recommend giving to them as they are in need. Also, give of your time if possible.
This place is a gem in the community! The services provided inside of this building are vitally important. The staff is incredibly helpful. Thank you for helping the community by providing a much needed service. I cannot say enough about the Homeless coalition! Keep up the great work!
They offer many services for those who are not on their own feet amazing how much they do
I got a tour from the director of this organization. It is obvious that this place is doing its best to meet the needs of the community. My hat is off to all who work and volunteer there.
This place is horrible.....they dont care about anything you do.....I have been here for half a month and they are rude to me and some of the people here are downright mean! Some of the coalition workers are sweet. I recommend you see miss Beth or Mr David those two people are amazing. I also recommend that you keep to yourself and dont talk to the residents here at all. I hope you will understand what Im going through.
Emloyees/ volunteers seem to be here for the right reasons. They demonstrate patience, tolerance, and compassion for those they interact with. Keep up the good works!
Great staff and secure structured environment allowing residents the time and support to get on a positive path.
Provides case management, emergency services, shelter, food bank, as well as other services. They also have a doctor who comes once a week to provide free medical care to uninsured people in the community. Also provides a hot meal every night of the year at 5 pm. They have programs to help homeless people get affordable housing. Most of the staff are kind and non-judgemental. At the holidays the staff and community really go out of their way to make the holidays joyful for the residents and homeless people.
We sold loved our Charlotte county homeless Coalition for all the work and volunteers do in our community is so tight knit with love and compassion and dinner 5 every night more than a hundred people they feed they help you when youre in need shelters have been there for a lot of lovely people were so grateful for this wonderful place in our community
They were very helpful wanted to get a volunteer application to help out with the dinner think it would be wonderful.
I myself am blessed to have each and everyone of the staff and volunteers and yes the excellent hot meals they serve ...God bless them all!! I just wish they would accept my dog. He is my family too!!
Kindhearted professionals work there. The place is clean, safe, food is good. The public can attend dinner daily and there is a well-stocked public food pantry. They are dedicated to helping others get back on their feet and become self-sufficient.
They say you can tell how good a place is by the crowd, and the repeat customers. This place has a bigger crowdthan the Stone Crabs on free hat night. That out of the way, it is very well set up considering what they do and have to deal with. Unfortunately there are a few non-compliant people, both on the needing side and the helping side. Grousing and gripes are par for the course, but dont take your frustrations to the point where you aggravate others. We are ALL waiting, hoping, praying..... Dont make it worse than it has to be. Remember that these people are volunteers. And unfortunately, a short word about them. Not as whole, but some people who dont seem to have their heart in it (most do, bless them) should stay home. And the few (very few) that seem to think your position allows you to be My Way or the Hiway type, well, I cant post here what I think of that attitude. Sorry about being long winded.
I have no place to go and Lee County would never help because I dont have children or Im not a felon or I dont abuse drugs the Coalition took me in I will always be grateful for what they did especially Amanda she is awesome she helped me when no one else could all the therapy didnt do anything but Amanda did kudos to her!!
This place feeds 130 people each night. Services for the needy apply inside at office. Great establishment
Great staff offering a wide array of services to homeless and at risk of homeless. Soup kitchen is actually a great hot well balanced meal served every night year round. Food pantry on Wednesdays, bread pantry M-F, assistance with utility bills and rent/mortgage as well as referrals to other community resources.
They dont let you express yourselves, Alicia thinks she runs a dictatorship, otherwise as a veteran, they never respected my girlfriend and her son, but knew screwing with a veteran the wrong way gets their contract revoked, so they tried to play the you play nice with us we will play nice with you. Didnt work, I dont play nice with anyone picking and choosing who they were going to help. On the bright side, met some cool people there, a person I hadnt talked to since 2007 and a friend of a friend. So not that bad. But as a veteran I like the veteran worker Nyomi, but everyone else are idiots.
Lots of information
This place im truley grateful for w some aspects of it . including alot of the workers.. But it seems like if ur not on drugs or a alcoholic or a vet ( no offense ) they can careless to help you. After being told families dont get kicked out, we got put out 2 days b4 thanksgiving. We were given a 2 day notice to leave and those 2 days where over a weekend . we never got written up or got in trouble. We did everything we were supposed to do and got kicked out. Granted we had 90 days there, me and another family were told families dont get put out. Even all the workers there were saying there not gunna put us out because they never seen that happen. But that day came and me and my family sat outside all day in the parking lot w all our belongings around and on top of my car with no direction on what to do. I didnt even recieve a rescourse paper w all the agencies on it.. The VETS caseworker gave me one and was shocked they didnt give one to me... Meanwhile there was another family who im friends with who stayed for 6 months, and the lady who runs the shelter part daughter stayed for a pretty long time also. I called other agencies for help who told me the shelter cant put families out in the cold. While being there, people have gone to jail for weeks and where aloud to come back, people where going to the hospital because they got so drunk and was allowed to come back...people who was doing drugs and left for days was allowed to come back... But a family who dont drink or do drugs and was really trying to get outta there, got the boot... I appreciate the things THAT were done for us but it could be wayyyyy better. Cant be a safe house for kids and families when people are constantly drunk or high off meth... And not to mention the man who was recording us all and had a knife and loaded pellet gun.... Not that safe ..
Just got here but it seems like it will be a great place
Very comfortable atmosphere people are friendly and helpful.
Great place to donate. They appreciate what you give.
We admire this hard working, loving, and kind staff of over 600 volunteers each month, led by top directors who give tireless hours of service to folks in need. This is an organization that make great use of donations. We at proud to volunteer for them.
Awesome people ☺️
I am not and was never homeless, but I did have financial troubles when I lost my income for a short time. I looked around for help to see what is out there and read the reviews of many places. It seems most of the reviews are written by people who never have to stay there, or need their help. They are written by people who donate to them and fall for the lies they are told. When you read the reviews of actual customers, your heart is breaking (providing you have a heart and a conscience) hearing of the treatment these people get. I wish the people who write the good reviews, but never had to use the services, would investigate more in what they are investing their money and demand better service to the people who need them.Just donating and further washing your hands of it, is not really being a good Christian. It seems most people help only when they get a tax write off and nothing else interests them. This kind of giving is self-serving and not genuine. Stop patting yourselves on the back for doing good deeds, when you never get involved on a personal level. Jesus didnt just give and forget about people, He went out of his way to make sure everyone is doing well and did things NEVER expecting anything back. He helped because He GENUINELY from his heart cared about people.I would rather help a person I meet on the street (buy them a lunch and maybe some groceries) than donate to these organizations. We dont need to save the world, but if you help one person who needs your help even a struggling neighbor or family member, you make all the difference in the world to that person. Remember only 1/10th of what you donate to these places helps the people who need it. The rest goes to the employees and the people at the top. They get funding through government grants and get huge budgets, they are not hurting as much as you think. Its the individuals in your own community, who need your help much more.
The Homeless Coalition does amazing work for our community. Take a tour and see for yourself everything that they accomplish to help families get back on their feet.
We need help with out bills. My fiancè and I, plus our 2 kids...about to be out on the street. God Bless
Pretty bad environment! People living in the woods. Makes you want to lock your doors of your car and downright disgusting.
The staff are extremely helpful. They do everything they can to make you feel safe and comfortable.
Administration is AWESOME. Shelter staff skills in dealing with people could be improved upon in some ways..
Awesome place helping the homeless population and people who are down on there luck. Hot meals are available every day

These people are helping us out diring our stay while we handle legal bussiness considering family.they been very help full and treat u with respect and they offer different programs that can lead u in right dirticions and possible a great job and home.if u decide to stay in flordia.
This organization does so much invaluable work, but they are hardly ever funded well enough to easily receive assistance. Thats not their fault though!
This place help me with my light deposit.God Bless.

Great place for those who need a help.
Very caring and helpful people! They are always willing to take donations to help others!
Theyre great to help the homeless they feed a lot of people
Great helpful kind people. Nice and clean.
My family and I were displaced when a landlord sold our house from underneath us as we were moving from Colorado. Anyways, we were refer to CCHC by an Veterans rep. We were lied to the veteran rep who told us that we could leave freely, as my husband was working, but we were informed that we had to be signed by 6pm nightly or we could lose our room. If we left Campus for any reason at 6pm we could be asked to leave. Our family room, as we were thankful to have, especially during the hot summer, felt like a jail cell. The staff member treated like prisoners or the street trash they obviously think the residents are. The women staff, especially treated the men like trash. Any man that would stand up to themselves were warned that with attitudes like that, you can be asked to leave. There were rules about smoking and cigerette butts disposal, they were ignored. Along with the amount of young children allowed to just run around. We witnessed three incidences where toddlers were almost hit by cars. Parent are to be watching their children at all times. All I can say is that 9 days was 8 day too long.My only positive thing is that our assigned social worker was awesome. She assisted in helping us get or deposit and first months rent covered. She also assisteded in getting us set up on free lunches for our children, Medicaid, and foodstamps.
Our youth group from Burnt Store Presbyterian Church loves to cook and serve dinner every 4th Sunday of the month. Folks are very appreciative and staff is awesome!
Been calling this place and no one ever calls back! Like they dont want to help...

Great when you need extra helpers for a project
They help the homeless and less fortunate... at a cost!!! Items that are donated to them are not donated to the needy, they are sold!

Terrible unmonitored place so any stranger from the public can enter through the main lobby room and sleeping quarters at night. People there who need 24-hr health care who SHOULD NOT BE THERE.
