Ive never been to this gym. Im reviewing based on my initial impression.I was at Target when an awesome Valhalla Camaro went ZOOMING by! Took down the website. Next, Im in line at Starbucks and I overhear the guys in front of me talking about Valhalla. I asked if that was their car. YES! They own the gym. Very cool guys. What a kind and respectful group. Oddly, I feel like I already know them. Introductory class scheduled!

I have been going here for a few months now! Coming with no experience everyone has been a big help and very positive! If you are thinking of learning a martial art (and you should) this is the place too do it!

We love Valhalla! I have two sons that attend and I have seen their confidence go up since they started. Classes are fun yet informative. My kids get a great work out and are always excited for the next class. You can tell the owners love what they do. I highly recommend!

I have been going to Valhalla MMA for a couple months now and I can honestly recommend it to anyone who is interested in mixed martial arts. I was nervous to start at first because of my inexperience but those fears were quickly assuaged. The instructors and older students were extremely welcoming and helpful. The instructors are constantly surprising their classes with creative ways to demonstrate and practice techniques. As all good teachers should, the instructors spend a lot of time and effort laying down a good foundation for their students and are driven by the success of their students.The equipment and dojo are always very clean, the instructors are experienced and very charismatic, and the students and respectful and very supportive of one another. Whether you are just starting or have experience, if you are looking for a new family and dojo, Valhalla MMA is the place for you!!!

I just found my new happy place. :)Tremendous people, outstanding energy group spirit and respect.Each student has caught the infectious positive spirit of the instructors who obviously love their craft.From a novice student of any age or gender to accomplished students each person is treated with dignity and respect.A strong spirit of camaraderie is present as students of various levels assist each other in a total no judgement environment.I am excited to go back.

After several of my nephews attended Valhalla MMA, I enrolled my two children into Tae Kwon-Do. The family oriented, friendly staff were always helpful, professional, and serious about providing a solid role model for them. At first the physical exercise was a little tough but they soon looked forward to learning how to defend themselves, the appropriate situations to remove themselves from harm and how to show respect. I started training with Sensei Alrey in 2006. I had several years of experience in MMA fighting before I met him and felt pretty confident in my skill set. Sensei Alrey picked me apart and I was so humbled by him. Hands down, the best multi disciplined school I have ever been to.

Valhalla MMA is the perfect gym to go to if you want to stay motivated and learn different techniques. I have worked on several projects with the owner and the entire gym is full of great energy. They know everyone learns at their own pace. The senior students will teach you almost as well as the Sensei of the dojo. No person is too big or small, Valhalla will take the time to train both your body and mind ! I would recommend this gym for both beginners and experts.

Valhalla MMA is the complete package in Martial Arts and fitness. I was sold on Valhalla MMA when I first met Alrey Handrich, Monica Handrich, and the rest of the Handrich family. It is truly a welcoming environment. All of the staff is very insightful and knowledgeable about the craft and the art that they’re teaching to their students. Not to mention they’re also very passionate and truly enjoy what they do! This makes the experience much more enjoyable and captivating. My entire family trains at Valhalla MMA and we have been for almost two years now. Martial arts and the Valhalla MMA family have impacted my life for the better in an array of different ways. Whether it be you have an interest in competing in combat sports, self defense, recreational martial arts, or even fitness. This is the place for you! The distinguishing factor between Valhalla MMA and other gyms is that they’re very heavy on teaching their students techniques that are “practical” which I believe is very important. It’s very nice to see a school that not only trains high level athletes as needed, but also makes a beginner feel like a champion with the confidence to take on any obstacle in their way!

Valhalla MMA is a legit school for learning mixed martial arts. You can learn anything you wish to learn here from basic self defense, to fitness, to how to actually step into a cage and fight. Not only that, they have been a family to me when I needed them the most. If you’re not going here for any MMA training, you’re wrong.

As a man whos known the Handrichs and Valhalla for 20 years and tried other gyms and dojos in my lifetyme, I can personally attest to the fact that there is no better place to train.The Passion, Skill, Knowledge, and Experience that the teaching staff has is unrivaled. They teach Theory and Practical Application of technique which is amazing because unlike traditional schools (who seldom teach practical application) it shows us how to use the techniques in real life situations and gives us the confidence of knowing weve felt that situation, helping to remove the shock of what now or how do i use it when the real life attack occurs.As Valhallas First 1st Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do, personal experience has shown me that Valhalla is more than just a training experience, its family... the people (Staff and Students) become family. Everyone was very welcoming and makes you feel like your at home there but the prices to continue classes are very expensive

It’s hard to express how impressed we are with the patience and teaching skills Valhalla MMA, our 12 year old is a cancer survivor and deals with some cognitive issues due to all the chemotherapy he had and this family of teachers truly knows how to teach with patience and from what we see all these kids just love the time they get to spend learning MMA!Thank You Valhalla!Highly Recommended!

It’s a great place, the owner instructor is very good. My grandson is very shy and he seems to come out of his shell. I am very grateful that he fit into something that is helping him feel good about himself, he feels part of something ..thank you Valhalla!!

Always have a good time. There very insightful and extremely informative. Never had a dull moment. Plus I have made many friends and also competitive buddies who like to push their bodies to absolute max. Simply one of the GREATEST Martial Art Academys out there!! To understand the high value of this school is worth paying every last penny for.. most schools do a great job instructing and promoting students.. BUT.. .. Ive never witnessed the transformation of the students that have came from these guys.. the amount of time and precise techniques they prescribe for each individual.. No matter what age.. what weight.. what disability or injury.. They have the power and the knowledge to keep you and your family safe!!If youre like most people in the world, insecure and dont like to admit it.. maybe not very outgoing, dont feel like you got a lot going for you .. PLEASE do yourself a favor .. go to these guys, I promise you... they are more than just martial art instructors and you wont be disappointed! Go learn to be the best that you can be and watch your confidence rise to a level you never imagined was possible ...

It is a great way to experience new ways to learn things that you did not know how to do and gives you the opportunity to still develop skills and have your own style but still accomplish the task that you are looking to achieve, they have the best instructors that will work with you at your pace and even if you have a disability or a type of challenge you will still be able to master the same skills. It is a workout but at the same time it is something that you look forward to go and do, it will teach you to be disciplined and a way to clear your mind no matter what can be going on in our life’s it is full of great people that will be there for you and support you.I would recommend this to everyone young and old to find there way to feel good about them self and what they want to accomplish

Sensei Alrey has become a true brother to me. I earned my black belt from Sensei Alrey almost 20 years ago. When I first started looking for a martial arts school, I needed to find one that was practical for self defense. Valhalla Martial arts was the first place I went. I knew within 10 minutes I found my home. Sensei Alrey Is full of knowledge and willing to pass it down.

I’ve been training with Sensei Handrich since 2003. He was one that really started my path to martial arts. His kickboxing, judo, and jujitsu teachings are off the charts. He and his family are GREAT friends as well as GREAT instructors!!! If you want to learn real self defense to keep you and your children safe. Look no further.

Alrey was my first coach years ago. He left a great impression on me. He was a bouncer and actually pulled me out of dog-pile of drunk idiots. And threw me out of the club!! I, later came back and apologized for my embarrassing behavior (I was a regular). I found out he was a professor and I went to his gym. I was shocked to find that his wife and little kids were all black belts too! Crazy! Impressive family! They moved away and I lost contact with them. I live in Bakersfield now, but Im still training! Thank you for the life lessons and introducing me to the reality of self-defense. But most of all, for giving me the love of BJJ. It really is a Super-power. If youre in this area, look them up. You wont be disappointed, This family has a powerful gift!
