Due to Lauren and Scott, I had a perfect visit at the Mavis in Pt. Pleasant. I got there at 8 am, right when they opened with an air conditioning issue. I didn’t have an appointment, but they immediately addressed my concerns. They were very friendly and helpful as they explained the process. I was given an estimated time when the work would be completed. To my surprise, it was completely in about half the time! This was great news for me, since I was waiting for the work to be done. I thought I was going to spend a good portion of my day at Mavis, but they made sure that didn’t happen. Thanks again to Lauren and Scott and the excellent mechanics.

Mavis took me in right away. Everyone was very informative of what I needed done and did an extra step to find a separate issue. Very pleased with my experience. Would definitely come back.

I called at 8:00am when they opened and asked if they could check my tires as I had a slow leak in one tire. I told them if I needed new tires just let me know. I was yes no problem bring it right in. I was there by 8:15 and was told I had to leave it. An they would call when it was ready. I ubered home. Around 1 oclock I called to check on it. I was told by John they hadnt got to it yet but I was next. 4pm I called again And John again told me he hadnt got to it yet. I told him never mind Im coming to pick it up. Cost me $30 in users and wasted my whole day off. Will never go back there.

Ordered 4 tires on line and scheduled the appointment for installation of 4 new tires. I took off the Wednesday to bring in the truck for the scheduled appointment only to be told the tires are not here! John said he would call when they come in. I received an appointment email on Thursday but did not receive a call that the tires were in. I called late in the day and was told by Scott the tires were now in and I could bring the truck in Friday. I arrived at 08:00 Friday as instructed was told I would have to leave it. I said I have to leave for work at 12:00 and was advised that would be no problem. He then tells me that the internet price is wrong because the internet doesnt include Mount/Balance or tax!! I came back at 12:00 to find my truck untouched and without new tires. This place has the worst customer service of any service center I have visited. No calls, no apologies and could care less about you. Both John and Scott have an attitude like they are bothered you came in. Will never go to any Mavis again...Angelo

Damaged vehicle. I have an older van. Brought in for a plug. Was lifted incorrectly and bent the body frame in three spots. I understand mistakes happen. Spoke with Scott the manager who refused to take responsibility. Said it is because the van is older with rust. Van has been lifted numerous times by many techs without incident. Offered a complimentary oil change. I asked we work with someone to just get it near where it was. Told me 2 minutes I waited 15 with no indication that they had any intention of a remedy. Hopefully can come to a reasonable resolution through corporate

Very professional and friendly staff. They showed me my tire options and explained each. We had four tires mounted and balanced, a front end alignment and an oil change done. Would highly recommend them. Will definitely be back again.

Let me begin by first stating that I drove past 2 other Mavis locations that are within just a couple minutes from my home. However after horrible experiences there, I was directed to this location by the district Mgr. From the minute I walked in I could see that this shop was very well managed and cared for. The main waiting area was spotless, unlike the others, and the bathroom was immaculate and decorated to compliment the jersey shore. The manager Scott, took great care of my vehicle and my daughters and took the time to test drive my car both before and after making the adjustments. He is doing a fantastic job and I would continue to travel the added miles to this location for as long as Scott is there running the shop. You can also tell that his staff is very happy working there, the bays are also very clean and organized. Trust my opinion, I have been running and managing successful businesses for over 25 years and this place is far ahead of the competition. KUDOS TO SCOTT!

Went in for a flat tire repair. John advised me because we drove the tire flat for a while we needed a new tire. Scott and John were very helpful, detail-oriented. I felt very comfortable visiting this Mavis in Point Pleasent.Kudos to this team.

This was my first time using Mavis for a repair and I was extremely pleased and highly recommend. From previous experience at other garages, I thought I would have to leave my car there for a few days and be charged an arm and a leg for the repair, but instead, they had my car for less than three hours and charged me a fraction of what I was expecting. All of the workers were helpful and kind. Next time I need a repair, Mavis will be my go-to place.

The staff was very helpful, I had a minor issue with one of my tires that I had purchased brand new a year ago having replaced all 4 of them and I purchased insurance on the tires when I replaced them, the minor issue I had when I went in today was taken care of quite quickly and free of charge, thank you Scott for all of your help much appreciated

Never have I been here and they weren’t professional and courteous. I have a Fleet vehicle that other places would take advantage of and over charge for everything. Mavis in Point is the only place I trust to bring my vehicle.

Very happy with everything. I had them put 4 new tires, do and alignment and change the wiper blades. They were very helpful and honest about every aspect. Their prices are reasonable and even offer a good warranty and a mail in rebate with some brands. Definitely my new spot to go for tires and alignment because the old place I went to never got it right.

Buyer beware!! Brought my vehicle in with a nail in a tire. Greeted politely and informed it would take an hour. I agreed to wait, after three hours and one of the managers kept telling me I was next, another manager called me to the desk to inform me that I needed a complete set of tires (4). He referred to the tires as having tread reading of 4/32 and that they were extremely dangerous to drive on and attempted to refuse to plug the tire. After sitting in the waiting area patiently for three hours I heard the same manager use the same line on several other customers with the exact same measurements. After challenging him as to how the tires were just rotated and the dealer did not mention anything about the tires being extremely dangerous and needing to be replaced. The manager took it upon himself to reinspect my vehicle and subsequently came back and admitted that his guage was off and now the tread was at 5/32. I asked him to write that on the receipt as I had just paid for the plug that he originally refused to do. The manager hand wrote on my receipt the new reading. The tire was independently remeasured after leaving Mavis and showed a higher tread. Unfortunately I will not be using their service or recommending the store ever again as they have completely lost my confidence & trust.

Customer service is always quick and knowledgeable. They are upfront with pricing and have deals going on constantly. Their great service team handles work quickly and efficiently, never had a problem or long wait time. I refer friends and family whenever possible they are an excellent crew.

Superior customer service by Scott and his guys. Had No time to make an appointment due to a random flat. I was helped right away and made to feel as if I was their only customer. Scott even came back from a coffee run with hot chocolate and a donut for me. The advice given enabled me to make an informed decision to replace all 4 tires. Rebates and tire options were explained in detail. Scott even went out of his way to recommend a place I can obtain a spare tire and rim. I left feeling like they assisted me the same way they would what to help their own daughters and definitely found my forever go to place for an oil change and any maintenance/issues.

Always think about the Point Pleasant store 1st, its my favorite! Curtious, polite and a they communicate with me. 5 Stars today and always gentleman. Scott (Manager) John also. I made an appointment for an oil change on Mavis website. I received a confirmation email to bring my car in, had a friend meet me there so I could leave my car. I was told they couldn’t do my oil change today when I arrived. They should not send out confirmation emails if they cannot accommodate! I will go elsewhere from now on

Great experience here. I have been taking my truck to another local shop for sometime but needed some emergency work done and brought it here to Mavis. I did drop a decent amount of money on the work including a full tune up, calipers, and some other work. Drove the truck to NH the next day it it felt like a totally new truck. Very happy with the quick work and customer service. I brought my work truck here a week later in a bind and they repeated excellent service. The owner is very personable and informative. They got my business from now on.

Mavis Tires in Point Pleasant is awesome. I just had 4 brand new tires put on, wheel alignment, cabin filter, synthetic oil change and other items, and the price was phenomenal. They checked over my entire car and informed me that everything else was fine. Did not try to add extras onto my bill. John was great. Explained everything the day before to me and when I arrived I was the 1st car. John made me feel so confident that everything was going to be taken care of. Then Adrian came over to me to introduce herself to me and also explained things to me. I cannot say enough about Mavis Tires on Bridge Avenue in Point Pleasant. Highly recommend this place.

Found out we had a flat tire after driving out to Wall. Drove back to Point, called Mavis and they said bring it over even though it’s Saturday and they were busy. They found the metal that caused the hole, patched it up and then rotated the back tires. Took about 3 hours, but I’m grateful they were able to get it done on short notice.

Awesome service! Scott was extremely helpful in figuring out why my tire sensor light came on. When we agreed on mounting my newer tires onto a new set of rims due to extreme rust and decay on original set, Scott was instrumental in finding the right set making them look like they were brand new. The service at Mavis recognizes what matters and what is reasonable when you have an older car that still runs well.

I’ve been to Mavis for tires multiple times - but my most recent experience was a true highlight. I recently bought a new car and within a week had a flat. After getting the run around from the dealer; I called Mavis to get a quote on a new tire. They had it the next day. Scott took the time to show me where the hole was and explained why my tire couldn’t be repaired - he is fantastic! He was able to fix my tire before closing and prevented me from riding around on a donut for another week. I highly recommend this specific Mavis in Point Pleasant and will continue to go here in the future!! Thank you!

I was told a hour to hour and half no big deal. Nope 5 and half hours later just got my vehicle back with a tire pressure light on to. Not worth the headache

The price was on point and there mechanics know what to do. Scott has 30 years in this business and knows what hes talking about. He will treat you like family. My brake light came on so I made an appointment. They put my car on the lift to find out where the leak was and noticed the rear subframe was rusted out hanging by a thread! I am so grateful they showed me! My former mechanic put a whole new exhaust system in and new brake line and NEVER told me about the hazard! I highly recommend bringing your vehicle to Mavis Discount Tire!

THIS PLACE ALMOST KILLED MY FAMILY!!! Do NOT spend your time and money here if you value safety. We went in originally to get my oil changed for an upcoming road trip and decided to get new tires while we were there.About 6 hours into my trip, my family heard a loud thumping sound coming from one of the tires. We immediately got out and checked each tire to make sure none were flat, and when we didn’t find a problem, we kept on going. About 30 minutes later, the car was violently bouncing up and down and would not go much further. My three young siblings, my mother, and I found ourselves stranded on an unfamiliar highway with a defective tire. After much confusion and apprehension, we managed to find our way to an empty parking lot. We found that 2 out of the 5 bolts HAD BROKE OFF OF THE TIRE and 1 was loose enough to come off at any second. Only 2 measly bolts holding on saved my family’s car from possibly flipping off of the road or much worse. The worker who put the new tires on my car, less than a week before the incident, managed to INEFFECTIVELY SCREW THE BOLTS IN AND/OR TIGHT ENOUGH. We were towed to the closest service station and the servicemen there said that the tires were definitely not “torqued” correctly, and they also said that we could have easily been killed if we went any further on the tire.When we contacted this company about their mistake, they told us they would “see what they could do.” After months of waiting, they told us that there was nothing they could do for us. I did not expect anything from them, but I would have at least appreciated if they would have owned up to their mistake.I am shaking writing this review and hope no one wastes there time here like I did. I would give 0 stars if I could!!!

Heading to the airport my tire pressure light came on, I stopped at Mavis to have the pressure checked before I hit the highway. Scott informed me I had a screw in my tire. I explained I was headed to the airport and short on time. He told me he could get it done quickly. Scott was professional, personable, and helpful. Mavis fixed the tire in record time and got me back on the road. I am grateful for the fast courteous customer service.

I came in within an hour of this location closing to get a tire dismounted and then remounted onto another rim for my project vehicle. I walked in and their phones were ringing off the hook amidst a coincidentally really busy end of their day. Yet, Scott & Glenn still helped me out and took the time between phone calls to talk to me and asked questions about my project vehicle even. They dont just treat you like someone they want out the door, they really do care to get to know you. For Mavis being such a big chain, these guys here run it like a genuine small-town shop. Great place to go.

STAY Away - did not securely install valves on my tires started losing air less than 2 miles after I spent over $800

What an amazingly unbelievable experience . Being a woman seeking automotive assistance prior to finding Mavis had been synonymous with fictitious “mechanical problems” (needing urgent repairs ) and/ or exuberant labor costs for unnecessarily fabricated “procedures “. I suppose most of these establishments didn’t realize I came from a family of mechanics and would be aware that changing a faulty break lightbulb didn’t equate to 3 hours of labor. Not only was I met with excellent customer service and knowledgeable employees but my vehicle actually needed less maintenance than I had expected . Of course quality work is of the utmost importance but being able to trust the staff is more important than most realize . Many will complain about paying a few extra dollars after seeing an item advertised elsewhere for a cheaper price ( usually not understanding that there are other associated costs even at these other establishments not mentioned in the ad ) doesn’t mean that you will walk out paying less or even receiving quality service . For 15 years I have bounced from one establishment to another not really finding one that I trusted more than another until now ! I will be a repeat customer and will be bringing my sons car in next week! Thank you Scott ! You are a rarity ! I hope Mavis appreciates you management as much as they should !!

Service was exceptionally good at this location, work was done quickly, and all in all it was a pleasant experience here. Plus, the waiting area was large (lots of social distancing space), clean and had a t.v. Special thanks to Scott who was extremely helpful and courteous and just nice to speak with. I would go back just for him! Prices were competitive and when I had a problem getting a rebate offer processed, Scott did all that he could to assist.

Manager very unpleasant and unfriendly. Will not be bringing my car here again after years of using them as my familys body shop. In addition, they attempt to get you to purchase things you dont need for you car, and miss vital things like brake lines.

I needed a tire due to the fact that the nail that was in it was not repairable due to the location. I called late Thursday night and they took me immediately. To my surprise from the moment I walked in the entire staff was warm and welcoming and very attentive to my concerns. As a woman I have had many negative experiences dealing with this industry and have dealt with shady staff members trying to take advantage of me . Scott the manager was very honest and actually figured out the problem wasn’t as bad as I had thought . My car is running better than ever and I have a new Go To favorite tire/auto shop for the future ! Thank you so much to Scott and staff! I would highly recommend this shop to everyone

Terrible experience a few months ago . Tried scamming me into something I didn’t need .all I wanted was a new tire put on and they said there were multiple other things wrong (which was wrong my cars driving perfect and got it checked out by a different mechanic) and made me try to apply for their credit card. Also sign a paper saying that I couldn’t drive away. Because I am a young, people think they can take advantage of that.

Management has changed. The shop personnel is completely different. There is now 2 master techs as well as a team of tire/lube techs, there is not much they can’t handle. This location is becoming great once again! Yes it is extremely busy, but 95% of the jobs are done the same day. Dropping the vehicle off in the morning is highly encouraged. Prices are competitive and service is top notch. You get more for your money plus accurate recommendations on what your vehicle needs. Forget past experiences and give this new team a shot! You won’t be disappointed.

Called this morning to have my tire checked because it was losing air since they installed it last month. I was able to walk in and out this morning in about an hour all fixed. The man I dealt with was friendly and professional...and as a bonus was very nice to my 4 yr old son.

Went to Pep Boys with a referral price to mount and balance 4 new tires. Pep Boys turned me away because they had only one guy on. ONE GUY??Called Pt. Pleasant Mavis, they matched price, and gave me an appt. immediately. While there I got an even better price for applying for Mavis card. Great Service, great value and Zeb, service writer was outstanding!!

Mavis met all my expectations on tires and service completing the installation on time and on their estimate. They also checked my vehicle for maintenance requirements providing a cost estimate and explanation of the issues requiring service. I will most likely return to follow-up on these issues shortly. Wasted 2 1/2 hours waiting for them to replace a tire. We called them before going in to ensure that they had the right size tire, since there was a nail stuck in our tire at the time. We gave exact tire information. They said they did. After waiting a long time for them to even pull our car in to start work on, and then waiting a long time again for them to do whatever they had to do, an employee came out and said there is a nail in the tire and it needs replaced. Yes, we know, AND ITS ON THE PAPERWORK YOU HAVE. We saw it on there. Then they proceed to tell us that they don’t have the right tire. This place wasted our time because they are completely incompetent. Then they offered to plug the nail, even though they really shouldn’t because it’s on the sidewall of the tire. It shouldn’t be done then, should it? Complete waste of space.We ended up going to Firestone in Wall. They did an excellent job, and it wasn’t too far. Advice for readers: GO TO FIRESTONE OR ANYWHERE ELSE FIRST.

Order 2 tires they were there the following day went in n paid for them n the worker put them in the trunk for me...the 2 men at the counter were very nice! That was my 2nd time buying tires from them
