Visiting here from North Dakota. Waited years to return to St Vincent De Pauls as it was my former go to when I lived here pre 2015. But today I went in and filled a $1.00 bag and picked up 2 greeting cards at 10 cents apiece. Was distracted and didnt realize she had charged me for 2 BOOKS. She knew full well greeting cards arent books. So, I wont be returning to this extremely overpriced and dirty thrift store. Seriously, $3.00 for stretched out stained t-shirts...cmon...
I shop at this place alot..I have made alot of the handmade magnets that are on the wall..I love donating things to help raise money because they help our community.THANK YOU FOR THE PEOPLE THAT WORK THERE..THEY ARE SO KIND!
I have went here for help with my power bill twice and both times by the grace of God the sisters helped me at a time of need. Thank you✨Now that I recently moved into a place of my own I will be going there for a voucher to help me since I have next to nothing... Blessed Be ✨
They have lost their minds. Only open a few hours a week. Used to be a five star place. They seem to be scared of the public because of covid. Not worth it anymore.
I visited the store today and I was not impressed. The lady at the register was middle aged and rude and snappy and she looks like she needed a cup of coffee or a Red Bull. Not to mention she needs a makeover. I found the store to be very dirty and dark and dingy. There was an odor in the store as some thrift stores have and it was very unappealing. A lot of the so-called Vintage furniture was damaged and overpriced. This is not a thrift store I would spend money at nor will I waste my time going back to the store in the future. It is stores like this that gives Pocatello shopping a bad name. As I understand the culture here ranges from middle to lower class you can still do something to have a clean looking and smelling store and also a friendly front counter person not someone with an attitude.
I wanted to go to St Vincent de Paul thrift store to do some shopping and I called them and told them that I was medically exempt a mask okay they told me I couldnt go in there unless I had proof that I was medically exempt they wanted paperwork but the problem is is that is illegal because I am protected by the HIPAA laws our medical information is private and because of that I will no longer ever come back to your store again the HIPAA law is there for a reason I do not need documentation from a doctor telling them or you your store what my medical condition is and why I cant wear masks its against the law and I will never like I said I will never ever shop at your store again the lady that was on the phone was very nasty to me very rude I was treated unfairly and I do not need to show proof of anything.period. the city mask mandate for Pocatello says that people that are exempt from wearing a mask do not have to wear a mask and they do not have to show proof you just lost a good customer
I go here from time to time. Have donated a lot of nice clothes. Also see people donating a lot of nice things but never saw my stuff on hangers and never see anything new on the shelves. I wonder what they are doing with all those nice things you donate. I have my suspicions. Use your imagination. You might conclude the same things I have.
I love going here! Not over priced & very friendly staff. If you are in need of help, they have a food bank every Weds morning. There is also a Catholic sister on hand that can get you vouchers for needed items free. From a coat to a bed. Please bring donating items here!! They need the help to continue helping those in need
Whats excellent about this business is the employees they are why this store works. But th3 management lacks compassion for these employees.deliveries and pickups are done by one employee. That does pickup and deliveries of large furniture by himself 5 days a week. Management does not go out of there way to solve this problem. Which creates tension.so next time you shop please make sure to have the employees in your thoughts. Because management lacks compassion and human quality towards overworked and. Abused employees
They have good clothes for those cant buy in regular store and people in need
I love going when they have books on sale. Fill a plastic bag for a dollar.
