I’m not local but a buddy introduced me to Cody as he had bought bikes from Barrie’s. Cody is so awesome to work with I’ve bought two bikes, another friend just bought 2 bikes from him and he’s simply the best! He found us what we wanted, totally honest in everything he’s told me and has gone above and beyond to take care of us. The service and sales support from the minute I walked in the door was fantastic, And at the end of the day, I feel great about about my purchase. Whoever the young lady was when I first walked in spent the time to figure out what I wanted and needed and showed me what she thought would be a great fit. I am pretty new to the area and have a LARGE family and they just made a forever customer.

Amber helped me today with fitting my Dalbello ski boots. She was so patient and helpful. I had never had them fit correctly. The left boot was not adjusted at all so my foot would go numb skiing. Ordered a Yakima EXO Swingbase when it was very hard to come by. Though the floor model was the only in stock item and couldn’t be shipped, they went the extra mile to work with Yakima and see if there was another way. Not even my local REI could do that in person. Amazing and knowledgeable sales people who obviously took the master class in customer service. I wish they sold cars too!

In my search for a bike I found Barries Ski and Sports. They had the bike I was looking for. I contacted the store and met Bill. He was great and took the time to explain the bike and compared it to a few other that were similar. He has a great knowledge of the bike and had person experience with the model. He had the bike tuned up and ready to go when I got there. I plan on buying from them in the future even if I have to drive two hours to get there and pass 5 other bike shops.

Wow. Unreal experience with these guys. Drove up from SLC on a day they were closed to buy a bike. One of the managers Bill met me on the day they were closed to make the sale. I rarely comment or rate places online, but I have to acknowledge my experience with Barries. I was visiting and riding with friends in Pocatello, and they mentioned Barries is where they get all their bikes and service from. I needed to stop in for some mechanical help and to buy a better helmet. I was in the store twice and interacted with three or four employees. Everyone was exceptionally nice and informative. More than one of them took extra time to help explain some of my bikes features, and they only charged me ten bucks to fix some issues. However minor the repairs, I appreciated them not gouging me, which they could have done. Wish I had this bike shop in my town.

Came in looking for a new pair of comfortable ski boots and Barrie’s absolutely delivered! For an awesome price too! Not a local but definitely worth making the hour and a half trip up!

Upscale, inviting well stocked bike shop. Easy to find and had a great parking area.The staff was knowledgeable and helpful. It was the only place in town that had the tires and tubes I needed in stock.

There are definitely better bike shops in Poky. The first time I brought a bike into Barries for a repair, I was treated dismissively by the mechanics. Maybe a one-off; I let it go. Then I had to bring the bike in a week later for the same repair; these mistakes happen so I let that go as well. Soon I brought in another bike for a tune-up, and then had to bring it back as the derailleur adjustment that I specifically had asked for lasted 3.5 rides. Hmm. And again, I noted that I was being dismissed and not taken seriously by the mechanics. Later, my road bike needed a new chain and tune-up. As I got home and unloaded it from the car, I was startled to notice that the rear tire was considerably worn out, all around, something they absolutely should have caught. These three-for-three mechanical botches on top of how I was consistently poorly treated led me to switch bike shops to one where I have felt fully respected and have not had any issues getting my bikes fixed.

I purchased a Specialized Levo SL from Jeff at Barries Sports. The entire experience was fair and efficient. Barries is a great shop with amazing custom service. Highly recommended.

Barries is a great outdoor shop. The service staff is very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. They have a good selection of high quality gear spanning sports of all seasons. In my specific case, I recently went in looking for a search and rescue pack. While they had a good variety of packs, they didnt happen to stock the specific item I was looking for (admittedly beyond what their normal clientele is probably looking for), but they were able to special order it and I had it in my hands within a few days for a competitive price. I also cant ignore the fact that every time I was in the shop and saw Barrie, he greeted me with a big, friendly grin and seemed legitimately concerned about whether or not I was taken care of. You can tell he loves this industry and sincerely cares about his customers. I could have easily ordered my pack online, but I specifically wanted to support a great local business and Im glad I did; it even worked out that I paid the same as I would have online, and it arrived even sooner. Overall a fantastic experience! Ill definitely be a repeat customer going forward.

I had an exceptional experience at Barries last week. My boyfriend and I went up to Pocatello to visit family and go skiing for MLK weekend. We drove into town just before 7, barely making it into the store before they closed. Barrie not only kept his shop open late to get us ski rentals, but also went above and beyond to make it an exceptional experience. Their shop didnt have ski boot rentals big enough for my boyfriends feet nor did they have skis with bindings big enough. Barrie pulled out a brand new pair of boots and also remounted a set of skis for us to use. He was so so kind to us and absolutely made our day and weekend. Thank you for having the best customer service around!

Great selection and lots of sales people. Mostly the known brands so no boutique. Talk to a a couple of people there and they bend over backwards. local riding groups and community support.They have helped me with Ski, Nordic and Alpine., Biking and even backpacking gear.

We had a scout klondike derby down there and being from Idaho Falls Brant made the process of getting all 10 scouts into skis absolutely painless. Barries has won me over several times. The most recent time I went in, I asked them to put on a bike chain that I bought for them a year ago but never managed to get on myself. When I went to pay for the service, and told them that I finally got the chain on that I bought from them they said, You bought this here? No charge. Ive had several similar experiences where the employees have treated me awesome. I am not sure if their prices are better, but I will always want to go here. Great people.

I went in to Barries in November to get new fitted ski boots after years of my boots hurting my feet after a few hours of skiing. Thanks to their awesome fitting service I skied my first full day at Targhee this weekend with no pain! Would highly recommend Barries!

I am a sales rep in the bicycle supplies business and I visit 140 customers in 4 states. I can honestly say that Barries is the finest store I have ever visited and Pocatello is very lucky to have a store and owner (actually entire staff) who cares as much and are as knowledgeable as these guys are!! As much as Barrie loves to ski he would give up a bluebird powder day if he thought a customer needed him for anything. Barrie and Son Jonathan are amazing and it so nice to work with people who care so much about their community and have such a passion for what they do!!!!.

Everyone at Barries is so nice and helpful! They treat you like you are are their most important customer. I bought a mountain bike for my son from them and the very first time that he rode it he bent the front brake rotor. We took the bike in to get it straightened and told them it was completely our fault and we didnt buy the bike with it bent. They immediately took the bike in their shop and straightened it and they didnt even want to charge me for the repair. They are an awesome business with awesome people! As long as Im in Pocatello theyve got my business!

I purchased boots elsewhere and couldn’t get them to fit comfortably. These guys fixed them in less than an hour. Friendly and knowledgeable staff.

Awesome service! Being blessed with some sort of strange troll foot, I have been at a loss for good fitting ski boots. Ive traveled to nearly all of the shops reasonably close to me and had a couple of internet purchases and returns. The staff at Barries jumped right in. At first I though they were nuts offering me a boot that was narrow and felt like a vice on my foot. Nearly 5 (yes FIVE) hours of boot fitting latter and Im ready for the Cinderella ball. I went to Barries ski and sports and had a derailleur that broke. I needed to take the derailleur off the chain, which meant I had to brake the chain because it is a Walmart chain. I told him I have no tools and never have done this before. He told me that I should just buy a new chain. So I listened (which I will never listen to them again because they dont care about the customer but instead only care about the dollar sign above the customer head). I got home and tried to put the chain back in but realized I needed tools to do the job properly. I will never buy anything from them again. You can get prices cheaper everywhere else. So if you dont want to spend more money than necessary go somewhere else.

I can’t describe the attention to detail and quality of service. Barries is hands down the best bike and ski shop that there is. I recommend anyone looking for outdoor sports to check barries out!

I recently bought a Specialized Stumpjumper from Barries. My experience was a little unique. I bought mine over the phone and had it shipped because I live out of state. A friend referred me to Cody. He took care of me and I was blown away at his customer service. The bike arrived with a few scratches. Huge bummer, but things happen. He took care of the issue and was always very responsive and great to work with, especially considering he was taking care of everything over the phone. I would definitely recommend these guys to anyone!

Said wait im the back where rentals are when the guys done he will help you ..cool5 mins later he finshed up the customer he had ..walked her up front ..never came back.Some lady comes in back where we been waiting now 8 mins. Not good place Upset my son who was excited to go skiing and we could NOT get any help here ..very very rude . thats not right and very upsetting to be treated that way when we was in the line waiting ..he saw us...

Tried to adjust my bike gear adjuster for 15 years still didnt work, they fixed it in a few days. Works better than new.

Terrible!!! They were recommended to me by a friend who shops there. I called to get the estimates on the package tune up rates and turn around times. I was told that the turn around time would be for me 24 hrs. I show up and I was told 48 hrs and then when the day came for pick up - I called and they havent even started the bike yet.... 72hrs later and still no call... for a tune up!!! - will not recommend or go back - Next time I will try out...
