I think they are very sweet people but my nails look unprofessional, uneven, and they were done incorrectly. Ill be lucky if they stay on. No cuticle work was done so that will cause lifting. My nail was barely roughed up so that will cause lifting as well. If I wanted some plastic and acrylic slapped on my nails I could have done it better at home. I wanted someone else to do it because I feel I dont have the time. Now Ill for sure make the time.

They were super busy with not enough workers the girl that painted my nails was bouncing from person to person doing nails she did a horrible job on my nails and I paid 35 dollars each for me and my grandma would never go there again. It was pretty Unorganized and not very clean

My sisters and I went in shortly before they closed and she was the kindest and most talented nail artist Ive ever been to! She was very understanding of my little sisters sensitivity and made sure everything felt okay. The price was really great and I plan to come here every time I get my nails done!

Wendy and June are some of the most sincere people you will meet. They work so hard and always try their hardest to fit in all customers. I have been going to them for over two years now. Recently, started doing eyebrow waxing with Wendy, which she does a very thorough job on as well. This salon makes you feel right at home, especially as you remain a regular customer.

The first time I went Wendy was great and I got a beautiful set of nails that lasted. However the wait was about 2 hours. I made an appointment next time for a fill and waited over an hour to be helped. I spent a total of 3.5 hours for a set. My old one was RIPPED off leaving my nails very damaged. I paid $65 in total with a tip and they lasted less than a week. I would not recommend. I did get a refund though.

The past couple of times I came the girl that has done my toes made me bleed and was very harsh. The polish looks awful and they are very unsanitary. The overall experience was not worth the wait

Called in for a pedi and mani. Got my pedicure (polish was a little messy and not enough coats). I waited for my manicure and was completely forgotten about when my nail tech moved on to another client. She remembered I was still there when I waited enough and decided to leave. She quickly asked that I wait more time and she would get to me, but I couldn’t wait much longer and needed to go. I feel I overpaid for my pedicure given it wasn’t done well and the fact that as a client, I wasn’t treated like I mattered to them. Sadly won’t be coming back.

I got a pedicure here a week ago. The girl asked if I wanted my toe nails cut short, I told her not too short. She ended up cutting them as short as possible and 2 days later, I ended up with 4 in grown toenails on 4 different toes

Where do I begin, we called to check on availability and they said yes. When we showed up they had me sit in a chair with cold water, my friend sat in a chair with no water and my other friend and her daughter got totally ignored and walked out. The place is dirty, dirty towels everywhere, just filthy! We didnt get any massage or warm water at all. I would never come back and would not recommend this salon. I could have done this myself and it would have been much better. Please go somewhere else.

Took my 7 yr old niece for her first mani pedi. Her nails and toes are horrible! My stars feel off on my way home! Then charged me a mint ... Im disputing the charges !!! Worst place ever!!!!

The sweetest staff i have ever met. This is what i asked for but instead of green i asked for black. It was not busy when i came in and 30 minutes later it got super busy and the lady who did my nails i can tell she was stressed and she rushed on my nails and left my fingers sticky, didn’t clean the residue, and nails were un-even. i would come back on a less busy day cause the staff has potential it was just a busy day and my nails were rushed.

I got my nails done and they have lasted a long time. I also got my eyebrows done and they came out looking good and not uneven.

It was a horrible day to walk-in anywhere in town. My usual salon was closed, and I wanted to get my set soaked off and a new set put on, along with painting my toes. My toes look great.My nails are mis-shapen, have sharp edges, and look completely unfinished on the ends. $75 I dropped here. And so……..stinking filthy. I have no idea HOW they are pacifying the board, I saw SOOOOO many violations!!!!!! Yeh…… just not coming back here.

This was an awful experience. Employee wanted me to apply nail polish to my friends nails for her. She also had all three of us remove our nail polish ourselves because her hands hurt. She was extremely rude. I am never going here again and would never recommend.

I went in about a week ago, I had an appointment for 5:30, my nails didn’t get started till 6:20. Even then she did a whole pedicure while I was sitting in the chair. All of Wendy’s tools were dirty. She didn’t wash her hands after the pedicure, or in between any clients while I was there. Just not very professional. My sister went there today and had an appointment, Wendy took in all of the walk ins and ignored my sister. They need more workers and some cleaning ladies! Not clean at all, smelled gross. My hands smelt like moldy rags when I left !!

I went in to get jell nails and was preoccupied by my grandson turned around and she had put acrylics on after I had already waited three hours!!! Will never go back! My daughter was given a gift certificate for Mother’s Day, called made an appointment, arrived on time and she helped all the walk ins first two and a half hours past her appointment time finally just walked out!!!! Terrible terrible service!!!! If I could give zero stars I would it’s not even worthy of the one star!!!

Dirtiest nail salon I have EVER been in. I stopped by for a pedicure after my usual salon was very busy. Was directed to a pedicure chair to sit, and noticed a big glob of hair inside the bowl, and fuzziest/dirt all over the inside, outside, and surrounding floor. Waited at the chair for 40 MINUTES and was never even talked to. Got up and left, and will never be coming back.

I went into solar nail spa to get a set of acrylics due to my other salon being closed and it was a waste of my money. I got better quality and price at my other salon. First off she was in a rush and in the process she made me bleed twice. My nails look trouble and and hurt. I do not recommend them at all.

Let me start by saying the owner is a sweetheart & a hard worker.🙂 However, with her charisma, she will talk you into any and all additional services($$$) if you’re not careful. She can also be unexpectedly blunt assuming a $5 tip & rushed us for payment. I‘ve been loyal, but feel like I was ripped off after learning that pedicures at other nail places are an hour long for the same price. I was a little disappointed with the way the cart & chairs were falling apart...& the massage chairs & cleanliness were pretty mediocre too.😏So they do a fine job if you’re looking for something quick(30mins), but there may be better choices if you’re looking for a relaxing day at the spa.

The nail tech was fantastic and friendly and professional! They got us right in and helped us promptly. The staff is fantastic! We received normal polish on the toes and gel on the nails. The pedicure manicure was mediocre. The nails look beautiful, but for the price I would expect a massage and more complete callous remover. (Im a nurse, so the callous is real!) and the manicure gel nails were beautiful, but same situation where i would expect a massage and more time spent on R+R. The massage tech put a color on my nails i didnt quite love (which i picked out) and she was happy to take the one polish off the one finger and put a different one on. But the gel manicure started to peel after 1 week, and i decided to take it off. When i did, my nails were in pretty rough shape. They are thin and flakey, which leads me to believe the polish wasnt very high quality. All in all, the service was great! The actual mani/pedis and massage were not.

I had a pedicure and my daughter had a full set with gel. We arrived and were promptly greeted. The ladies were friendly and got started right away. My pedicure was fantastic and my daughters nails are beautiful. It’s been 3 weeks and ALL of my daughters nails are still on with no lifting. This is a first! Definitely worth the money and the service.

Made an appointment for 10am for 3 Mani/pedi. Was greeted by friendly technicians but that was why they received the 1 Star. I didn’t want color on my nails as I work in health care. The only purpose of a mani is to file, buff and remove cuticles. Not one of those things were done. Matter fact the texture of my nail is actually rough. The pedicure was extremely rushed. The entire appointment was done in 30 minutes and that was with each done back to back. I have never been this upset after a salon service. I would strongly suggest a different place. I’m not sure why the tech thought this service was acceptable.

They did a great job and were so friendly the whole time. We laughed and had great conversation. When I left I noticed a few things wrong on my nails so I decided to go back in and she was more than willing to fix the mistakes and said she really appreciated me coming back so I could make sure I got what I paid for. I love an employee that can take a potential issue and turn it into a satisfying experience and they did just that. I will definitely go back!

A few hours after I got my nails done, they were very sore and hurt. While the lady was doing my nails she made me bleed and was really rough. She was in a hurry & kept going back and forth between clients.She didn’t do what I asked for even after I told her 3 times it’s what I wanted.My nails also aren’t shaped the right way, and they are crooked. Some are longer than others as well.The lady also got nail polish on my skin. My nails are also really bumpy.I don’t recommend & I won’t be going back.

I read mixed reviews here about Solar Nails & Spa, but I tried it for myself and I am 5 🌟 pleased. It was very busy at one point, they kept up as best they could while extending excellent customer courtesy. The couple that owns the place are kind and hard working. The pricing is more than fair. And my nails and toes look fabulous!!!

Worst manicure ever ... my ten year old niece could do a better job. She cut the nails all different shapes, one is even diagonal instead of squared or rounded ... the first time she painted my nails, it looked like she put the polish on and then immediately touched it to check if it was dry ... she blamed the color instead of taking the blame, asked if I wanted to fix it and I said yes, so I picked anew color and it was a little better but still looked like a little kid did it.

Had a really nice time here. Came here due to the recommendation of a family member and wasnt disappointed. Even though they were busy I feel like they still took their time on my pedicure and did a nice job. They were polite and I left feeling really good. My toes were so cute!!

I was going on a trip and needed to have my nails done before I went. I read many reviews on many salons in town, and settled on Solar based on these reviews.It is most definitely a family ran business. Kids running around, husband also doing nails. Nothing about these things bothered me, it was kind of neat I thought.I read many comments about the cleanliness of the business. There were a few things I personally would have cleaned up a bit more, but nothing that turned me off of the place.The only real complaints I have is they did nothing to sculpt the nails. They were thin and she could have spent more time shaping and smoothing them. I did however experience the one side rounded and the other squared, again this would have been fixed had more time been spent shaping and sculpting the nails. The tops were rough, even after 2 coats of color and a clear coat. Also I am not sure if they understood what I wanted when I asked for narrow nails.One thing that would make me not come back is the heater. Instead of using a UV or LED she had me put my hands in front of a VERY hot blowing heater, to set the acrylic. This was quite painful, and if I do return I will refuse that part.Minimal lifting though, they lasted a full 2 weeks before having to be filled. With a little care when being filled these issues were easily fixed.I also question the price of having to pay a full 10.00 dollars extra, for nails that go past my finger tips, I have never experienced this before.All in all it was not a terrible experience. For the price if you want quick nails, it is not to bad. (Though I still question the price hike.) I think with a little more time spent in the thickness of the acrylic (for strength) and sculpting (for shape) This would be a place I would return to again if I needed a salon.

I have given this salon 2 or 3 chances and every time I walk out I am unhappy. They do not do what I want ever and I had one specific style of nail that I wanted to do and the Lady doing my nails refused to do it. It wasn’t anything outrageous or anything I wanted red almond shaped nails. She wouldn’t let me have the length I wanted and then charged me $50 which was for the gel I didn’t want to begin with. I told her I was unhappy and that I wanted to get them fixed and she refused to do it. I hate giving bad reviews but I would also hate for someone to spend that much money and to walk out unhappy like I was. That was just my last experience from a couple of months ago. The other experiences weren’t good either I wouldn’t recommend it.

My sister showed them the picture its was just nude nails they made them bright pink and also they were shaped weird. It took then 2 hours. Plus the sign on their door said full set of nails like 20 but my sister paid 50. Verry unimpressed

My wife and I have been going to Solar Nails for years. We get a couples pedicure about once every 4-6 weeks and we enjoy the experience. Wendy and Michael the owners are very friendly and pay attention to detail and do a wonderful job. The shop is in need of some updating however that would make the atmosphere much more relaxing and inviting.

I’ve been to salons all over town, and this is the place to go! I am overly satisfied whenever I leave! These ladies are fantastic at what they do :)

This is the worst salon I have ever been to. First off it is really dirty and not clean and professional at all. Second off I had an appointment and still had to wait 30 minutes to have someone start on my nails. They had people coming in and waiting so they hurried so fast to do my nails and they turned out AWFUL!!!!!! The color was wrong and the shape of the nails were suppose to be almond shape and they were all rigid and sharp. It told them i wasnt happy and I had a wedding the next day I was getting them done for, they told me to come back the next morning and they would fix them because they didnt have time right then. So to make me happy she gave me $5 off so I still had to pay $35 for the crappiest nails I have ever gotten done. I didnt have time to drive 45 minutes back to the salon the next morning so I had to go to a different salon and get them fixed. I called and asked for my money back and they said that they cant do that because the owner wasnt there and was on vacation. It was excuse after excuse. I will never go back here and would NEVER recommend this place to anyone! I didnt even want to give one star

Probably the worst nail experience I have ever had. I’m not usually one to complain because I don’t like to be mean or make people feel bad, but I’ve been getting my nails done for years and have never had such an awful experience and such awful nails. The man tbere is so rushed and doesn’t make sure he puts the nails on straight and he doesn’t even paint the entire nail. It seems like he just wants to finish as fast as he can. When I asked him to fix the crooked nails and the paint, he fought with me and got up and left the salon. Thankfully, his wife Wendy was very willing to make my experience better and fix the nails I wasn’t happy with. They still are not straight, but the polish looks a little better. The salon is dirty and messy and just overall gross. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. I was so disappointed I just wanted them to take my nails off or give me a discount. Worst money I have ever spent.

Theyre all very kind but I got an infection. I wish I could insert a pic of my big toe but google wont let me? Anyways, not worth a soak in hydrogen peroxide.Edit: for the owner, it was the son of the business. Hes very gentle and nice but yeah the infection did happen.

Took my winter feet into Solar and the professionals gave me baby soft skin with the use of oils and lotions. The icing on the cake was the courteous service. Wonderful! Going back today for another.

Walked in for the first visit to this business today. I did not have an appointment. I had found them when I googled pedicures in Pocatello and it was advertised there, and is painted on the window, that walk ins are welcome. I walked in and a lady walks up to me and says I am very busy. We busy. Sorry and walked away... literally. There was no greeting, no request to find out what service I needed, no offer to come back or how long the wait was... completely unfriendly, unprofessional and dismissive of a potential new client. She had walked away and back to a client so I just turned and walked back out without saying anything about what I wanted as a service or even a hello, I am still a bit incredulous that it even happened, definitely not what I expected from other reviews or even just as a basic expectation as a customer. They werent closing for over an hour and I would have even come back, but now I most certainly never will.

Awful! Paid $45 for a $20 pedicure! Still have rough feet. Toenails were barely painted and a mess. We also saw a rat running across the floor and the place was not clean! I have been there one other time for nails and it was good.

I went last week to get a simple full set gel on my own nails the lady was nice but she didnt do a good job, she tried to fix them but I was still not happy. It didnt look like they were done professionally. She also said they would last 2 to 3 weeks it has been a week and they already look horrible.

Be prepared to wait a few hours. Due to there only being 2 workers, she jumps around here and there. She rushes and more than half the time, the nails come out crooked and not all the same shape. Also they charge an extra 10$ if the length is past your finger tips, which I’ve never heard of anywhere else. They are also very rough on your nails. Won’t be going back.

It was the worst salon I could have ever gone too. I went in just simply wanting to paint my nails with gel to allow them to grow longer and stronger. The bosses wife was very stuck up and rude and did not respect what I simply went in for she did a horrible job and completely butchered my nails leaving one nail very short and the other long. I will never go back and I lost money that I do not believe it was worth it. I would not even rate it one star, when asking the wife’s boss a single question she responded with impatience and disrespect.

Scheduled appointments at 9:30 for 4 tips n acrylic with color, 3 manicures with color, 2 pedicures with color. Waited 15-20 minutes for salon to open, (salon opens at 9?). 3 of us was ignored n just painted after nails cut but not evenly. 1 nail color was not complete half the nail wasnt even done a thin strip down the center was all . 1 was given tips n acrylic even while saying she was just manicure n color. When the 4 of us that wanted tips n acrylic done was done our nails are uneven not strait and not filled the color was ignored and gel is full of bubbles n not over entire nail. The best part was the 5 year old hers was a simple paint for her fingers n toes hers was great and the young man even added a flower for her. I know the one lady was really stressed and having a horrible day but she did a great job but added tips n acrylic when not wanted. The older gentleman was on his phone, smoking or had earbuds in so we couldnt tell him anything even when we tried we were ignored. The place was filthy gross. It got to the point we just wanted to be done and out of there. Life happens but it is a business and i would not recommend the salon to anyone until they clean n get serouse about their jobs and take pride in their work.
