I adopted my sweet Green Cheek Conure, Kiwi, from Parrot Help. I am so grateful for the work that Parrot Help does and for the role they played in bringing Kiwi into my life. Thank you!
This is a quality organization that cares about parrots. If you are interested in adopting from them, it is best to fill out the application and submit. Trying to contact in other ways, is not gong to be as effective. This organization is very busy with all volunteers and it may take awhile for them to contact you back. All their birds live in foster situations and it can take time to go through the steps to get connected with your new feathered friend. Be patient. I had to learn to do that. They are trying to help birds find homes and this may take multiple steps before it happens.
Compassionate, caring & responsible rescue.
Well first off I would like to congratulate all the volunteers that work their a....s off just for the love of animals, that is a shout out to all organizations. Secondly, my husband and I were frankly secpital of birds rescues because we have been burned in the past. It seems they just want your free labor and then in return, they will sell you a bird for an exorbitant fee. Wendy and her team are different. The application process went smoothly, as did the phone calls and interview. We are seasoned bird people and Wendy could tell that during our many chats. She knows what she is talking about, if you feel she has not responded to you the way you thought she should, maybe she saw though you and your b.s. The birds welfare are her best interest. Do your research on parrots people, then decided if living with one is for you.
Great organization made up of volunteers who love and are passionate about birds. Today I saw them show and demonstrate bird care to a group of vet tech students. So impressed! Let them help you find a bird that will fit your lifestyle. Dont shop, ADOPT!
So my wife and i were denied adoption over a bird that says child friendly. We have 5 children. So i called my lawyer to find out if they can do this to a family over having 5 children in our home, It makes no since
