From the first time I met with Mona at Huntington Learning Center, I was very impressed by their system and their approach. They have an excellent method of assessing the students. Their individualized teaching plans really work. My daughter who is in fourth grade had a difficult time with her reading and writing. After approximately five months of going to Huntington, not only has she exceled in her reading and writing, she actually enjoys reading books now. Their teaching method is truly amazing. Mona is also very particular about having regular meetings with parents to assess the students progress. I highly recommend Huntington!

My high school freshman, who has an IEP, has been going to HLC twice a week since September and getting excellent support for English and Math. This was the best decision we couldve made in the most challenging of years. If it werent for the professional tutelage of the amazing teachers here (these are experienced teachers from the surrounding school districts), my son could have fallen so far behind that this year wouldve been a complete write-off. Were fortunate and grateful to have the means to provide this support for our son - if we think about the value we are getting, it is absolutely worth it. We are now confident that he will be well prepared to transition back to in-person learning at FHS when the schools re-open here.P.S. Mona, the Center Director, is very hands-on and cares deeply about all the students. As an FHS parent herself, she is experienced in identifying the specific needs of each student and is a strong advocate for student rights. We are definitely blessed to have connected with her and to have made the decision to enroll our son at HLC.

As a parent it has never been easy to assess my childs progress - no matter what how many times I re-read 1-2-3 Magic and other such parenting self-help books. I have read almost 5 such books over the last summer and I think I can consider myself an expert on my own abilities. And I think I just cant objectively assess my child. Forgive me if I generalize, no parent ever can. So, I have to find other adults - professionals - that can objectively assess my child and keep me and my wife honest on how things are.Huntington Learning Center in Pleasanton, CA is one such place that my 9 y.o. receives objective assessment and full support to overcome challenges in learning. It doesnt matter what the challenges are, because every kid has their own set of challenges - what matters is if we as parents can trust and work with professionals - who also are parents - and who can empathize and provide the constant feedback and advice.Under Monas leadership this place operates with a great degree of efficiency and care for the children. I wont reveal too many details, but if you wanted to speak with me privately, I can help you see why I have written this feedback - it comes from the heart of thankful parents of a child who over last 8 months has grown more confident, resilient and competent compared to their older-self. Yes! It took eight months - when all we wanted to do was try it out for 4-6 weeks of summer.

From the outset, Mary was great at explaining the process which instilled a lot of confidence in the investment that we were about to make. It was a real commitment from both sides to get the scores we were looking for. The shining moment was when we were 80% though the process and after a practice test were concerned about the progress our daughter was making. We went in to see Mary and she talked us through the test and made several suggestions. Her most important suggestion was to stay on course and have confidence. She basically talked us off the cliff and she was right. My daughter exceeded her goal and we couldnt be happier with Mary and her staff at Huntington. I cannot recommend them enough. They were patient, helpful and it felt like they were really invested in the progress my daughter made. It was hard work but so worth it. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would.
