THINK TWICE BEFORE USING THIS LOCATION!!!! I would give this location 1 star if it wasnt for our great tax preparer, Larry! He was awesome and I give him 5 stars. This location as a whole is what the 2 stars is for. We waited for Larry to come out for 30 minutes. Someone came back from break, Alex, and asked us if we needed any help. We said that we were checked in but no one had come out for us. He went back to where Larry sat and asked how much longer. Apparently the person who checked us in did not inform him we were there before he went on break. He was too paranoid about going on break! At this point our only option was to drop off our documents or reschedule. We rescheduled. The new appointment changed locations to Martinez. No one called me to tell me this so we showed up in Pleasant Hill. Alex informed us that he figured this was not correct and tried to reach out to see what was going up. He also informed us that the team lead, Marge, spoke with me to inform us the location was changed. I did not speak to anyone from H and R Block nor was a voicemail left to inform us of this change. The only information I had about my appointment was stating to was March 30 at 6:00pm at Carmel Plaza. So Marge lied. At this point I was fed up with the screw ups from this location! I was mad and frustrated and just over H and R Block. Larry still saw us in Martinez and we got our taxes done but it should not have been this difficult! Needless to say my experience here was horrible! Only Alex and Larry were the saving graces for this location! I will think twice before I come to this location again.

I have always appreciated having H&R Block to do our taxes. However, I think the price is quite steep. I mean over $300 for what should have taken about an hour to complete. And the tax preparer this time was EXTREMELY slow. Did not seem to have any keyboard/typing skills at all. Hunting and pecking for each letter and number. It was painful to sit there and wait like that. Took three hours for what should have taken maybe an hour. My husband had all of the information gathered and totaled etc. (spreadsheets etc) In every other way our return was not complicated at all. Then it seemed the last charitable figures were combined because he didnt want to write some of them out again, about 6 I think, and we were warned that the IRS might flag that and question it. SMH. Dont get me wrong, our tax preparer seemed like a very nice man, personable and welcoming, but the computer skills and work ethic were not there.

This was the most painful experience I have ever had doing my taxes Henry G was very nice but seemed like it was his first time he had no clue how to do any uber or door dash taxed how to pull them up and find information on mileage and tax stuff. We were her for 2 and a half hours!!! Thats so insane for my wife and I! I barley worked last year to it was so simple nothing complex at all! And after I had to pay almost $400 at the end. The whole time it was extremely hard to understand his thick accent the entire time. Like I said he was extremely nice but I will not becoming back here.

Utter frustration with dealing with a wonky website and the service is way too expensive. Also, H&R Block is one of the primary reasons the IRS doesnt provide US taxpayers with pre-filled forms the way its done in other countries, making tax season unbelievably tension-filled. My tax professional didnt speak English well, and I KNOW a lot of money was left on the table. Also, my tax preparer kept trying to get me to come into the office, in the middle of a pandemic, even though they advertise contact-free filing.

5 stars. I have been working with Gemma Yang at Pleasant Hill H and R Block for a few years now, and she is a top notch tax expert. I highly recommend her.

I enjoy working with Baird. He is knowledgeable, and supplies just the right mix of tax preparer, and human being.

I use H&R every year and have for over 10 years. Chiu has always been very helpful and informative.

Gina Hisel is absolutely the best. She is very knowledgeable and thorough. We see her every year and appreciate her expertise.

Very pleased. I feel I am always in good professional hands.

H&R Block makes tax filing easier and clearer.

Very bad experience! Strongly not recommended. They are arrogant and always want to charge too much, at least 1.5 times normal price ! They will make sth up, e.g. lots of forms, different than normal one, and try to convince you to take the high cost.They are not responsive and do not care you once you have paid the money. They do not listen to your needs carefully and do not want to save money for you cos they just do not want make mistakes. THAT IS THEIR TOP PRIORITY! They do not think for you to make you pay less tax but to not make mistakes.They will not not ask for your opinions in detail and just try to finish everything ASAP and get you money. They will assume you will take their choices, and if you notice if it is done the way what you want, then they will say it is the rules blabla... They just want to get rid of you when you have paid and so they can work for other customers and get quick money.In a nutshell, do not go there! Other branches may be good, but this one SUCKS!

Gemma Yang is exceptional. And as long as she is with H&R Block I will continue to recommend the pleasant hill office and mor specifically Gemma!

Have gone to the Pleasant Hill, Ca.; office for quite some time. Have had my taxes done by Gemma Yang. She does excellent work. Had Ruth Kuehl before that, and she was also very good. Will continue as long as Gemma Yang is available to do my taxes.

Great service if my taxes are really simple to do I may do them myself but if not I will definitely come back to H & R block thank you.
