Theres a lot to try on the menu. We ate in and also placed a separate order to go. You can get briskets dryer or tender (marbled), and we opted for the second option for the take out order. Some menu items are more flavorful than others.Baked beans have a pleasant smoky flavor, but less taste than expected. Mac & cheese has a lot of flavor from the cheese, by contrast. My Texas bandit burger felt a bit bland, but easy to remedy with provided condiments. The temperature of all food served was perfect, as was the service.I will try this again and order different items to sample in the future.The atmosphere is relaxed and pleasant with nice furnishings, decor and lighting on the inside. Its easy to have quiet conversations without straining to hear or be heard. We didnt try the patio due to the heat, but it looks rather pleasant with a large tree in the center. Good food to serve a variety of tastes, very pleasant atmosphere and great service, excellent for couples or groups.

Brisket was outstanding sausage was delicious ribs very tasty wish there was a little more meat on them but they were good. Customer service was outstanding the desserts were sweet and tasty,side dishes were enjoyable except for the potato salad and I already talked to the management about that. Cornbread that was outstanding next will order extra butter the coleslaw was outstanding the scalloped potatoes and garlic mashed potatoes wonderful I forgot to grab some macaroni and cheese but I will take care of that sometime this week. Great Texas style BBQ. As you step into the restaurant, it feels as you were transformed back into a Wild West saloon. Staff is very friendly and food simple and good. Definitely a fun experience.

We are repeat customers, even for take out during the pandemic. This is the end of Bacon Week. A tribute to bacon with a bacon menu seperate from the main menu. So, I had the BLT and my wife has the Applewood smoked Bacon Flatbread. Everything is just as good as any of the main menu items...including the vanilla bacon milk shake 😆. I absolutely recommend Back Forty for lunch or dinner.

Its a great place with really good food. We loved their cowboy steak. The workers there are very nice and respectful, and the waiter even served us extra 2 plates of Caesar salad on the house.The theme of the restaurant is really cool so dining in there is really nice.Their parking is not big enough for all their customers, but also not small, and they do have complementary valet parking so its not a problem.The only problem here is the wait time and no reservations. Its a first come first serve kind of a restaurant, hence the 4 stars instead of 5. A very popular and successful place like this could use online or over the phone reservation instead of waiting 30 minutes to get a table.Overall its a great place that you gotta try at least once (they have take outs). Highly recommended.

Took the family here after they help me move into my new place. Went in around 1. No line no wait. Place was half full. I guess we missed the lunch time rush. Cornbread in the basket of bread was filling. Tried to stay away so I can eat the food I ordered. The ribs fell off the bone as soon as you bit into it. The tri-tip was like butter. No chewing was needed to enjoy such a delicious cut of meat. The Apple crisp was crazy good. I’d go back just for that. Wait staff was semi attentive. She forgot our banana pudding to go. But made up for it by giving us a little extra. 5 stars all around, will definitely come back seeing as this is so close to home.

The food is amazing. The pork ribs fall off the bone and I like the brisket. Tonight I ordered those two items to-go and I asked for juicy brisket and I didnt get that. Normally, its so juicy is just melts in your mouth. I dont know what happened today. The prime rib sandwich is really good with the ranch size baked potato 🥔(all the fixins). I will be back to try something else

This is absolutely the best brisket I have had in California from a smokehouse. The world renowned Rib Fest Champs are right in my backyard folks. The Que us true, sauce is bossin, and service is 5-star!!Family, let me tell you now, it is beyond amazing. Tender, well seasoned beef, garlic mash potatoes were slamming with tons of flavor.Oh, the potato salad was just as good as home. Cornbread was moist and buttery.I do not know if we will be blessed with the Annual Rib Fest held in Reno this year, but if not then I say the Nugget should get BF BBQ to cater the VIP Party!It was so good I forgot to take photos. Ordered the half slab of pork ribs with shoestring fries, mac and cheese, and cornbread. The ribs were good but that was the only edible part of the meal. The mac and cheese was overcooked with a thin sauce that lacked seasoning. The shoestring fries are actually just regular fries. They were soggy and had so much salt they were barely edible. Worst of all was the cornbread which was completely burnt. Id choose another spot for your BBQ.

Never again this place serves dry ribs and cardboard looking brisket I dont recommend I spent 47. And change and all I could eat was the veggie soup everything else wasnt fit for my dog to consume save your money and barbque your own ribs trust me you thank me

Great Ribs. Fall off the bone. Cooked perfectly! The sauce is so yummy. Great service and we had a pretty large order and it only took about 10 minutes and they were pretty busy.

My family had a lovely dining experience here on Saturday. The hostess was friendly and got us seated quickly in a comfortable, socially distant booth. The food was absolutely delicious and our server, Javier, was excellent. We will definitely return soon!

I’ll never eat here again actually I’d advice against it. So me my daughter and wife and her grandmother went here for dinner my daughter is a 1 year old yes she had some crumbs under her high chair whoever mike is told me I should have more control of my daughter then told me how much it costs to clean the floors honesty the mess we left was not bad I should not be made out to be a bad person or bad parent which he called me. Then told me it costs 1200 dollars to clean the floors I’m not worried about any of that I’m honestly so frustrated that this happened to me.

Ive ordered from these guys x3 now (Daughters Gradation and Sons Bdays) and they have come through on all three occasions. Back Forty Texas BBQ-We had the early bird special, which included brisket, pork ribs and chicken. Meat was a little dry, but the BBQ sauce was delicious and made up for the dryness. When I say dry, I was not getting a lot of flavor from the brisket without the BBQ sauce. The ribs, also very dry, came off the ribs easily and again the BBQ dipping sauce made the difference. Sides were generous. The difference maker was Julianna, our server. She was attentive, but not intrusive and always smiling. Great service! The early bird special was decent value, but had I gotten one of the other plates and paid more Id be disappointed. Will definitely go back, could be it was a Monday-Ive known Back Forty to be much better.

Made reservations for 7 in the patio area. Had an excellent meal, waiter was very nice. I ate brisket, it was decent, not as good as my buddy Zac Smedleys, but still good. I also got the banana pudding which was delicious! The bathroom is nice, Im glad they have paper towels, and it smelled good. They also have a nice rocking chair porch area in the front. The worst part is the lack of parking, for some reason its almost always full. But just remember you need to walk off those calories, so park by Best Buy and enjoy the California weather!

Great outdoor seating. They had heaters and umbrellas. Beautiful setting to look at and eat. Very protected from the wind. Food and service were all great as well. The reason for the 4 and not 5 starts is I felt the menu was lacking in something other than just bbq(I know its a Texas bbq). But not one pasta dish or option to eat something other than just meat...unless you order a salad or a appetizer. I had the burger and it was delicious 😋. Very generous on drink pours too.

Ordered the double meat - chicken and brisket. Dry dry dry. All of the food was tasteless and dry. Did I mention how dry the meal was? Dry. The cornbread was burnt and made me feel like I was in the middle of the Sahara. The potato salad was just ok. The only good things? Mini white bread and the chocolate chip cookie. The sugar cookie was even dry! Im not even sure how they couldve gotten everything so waterless. Edible but bring lots of water.

True to its name, Texas BBQ serves authentic dishes that look and taste just like Texas BBQ. The surprise is that the restaurant is nicely decorated. Not the usual joint with linoleum floors - Texas BBQ is a real sit down restaurant with leather chairs in bar, carpet, decorative art on walls, subdued lighting and a huge oak tree covering the patio. Well worth the little bit of trouble to get to the place.

Great food, considerable portions, at a decent price. My only issue is the outdoor seating. Umbrellas are not in areas that effectively cover tables. I had to adjust my seat around the table to avoid exposure to prolonged sun while attempting to enjoy a meal.

Really terrible experience, we tried this place last night for the first time, reviews were good so we decided to try it, waited about 1hr to get into the patio, very busy on a Wednesday night. Service was good, food was good we were almost done waiting for the bill, when I see something running around the stairs and there were RATS yes rats! Two big rats fighting on the stairs jumping up and down, they were running in the little green area, waiter was coming up and down not sure if he saw them but I would say there were 4-5 rats in the patio. I got so sick I hate rats, we got out of there right away! Unfortunately we won’t be back due to rats infestation.

Im not normally a huge fan of bbq but this place hit the spot. Maybe it was just a pleasant change to eat with real cutlery after surviving on uber eats in the hotel room recently. Still, it definitely got the spot for me!

Good Old Country comfort food. A fun place to have a gathering. Staff very hospitable and warm. No need to dress up fancy but if you prefer it is a pass. Just a down-home Corral with down-home folks. Warm & Cozy. Parking is a little tight. But they have valet service. Wheelchair accessible with elevator for upstairs dining hall. There is also a bar setup upstairs if you are going to have a Gathering. Also to complemented the staff was on top of all of the empty dishes after dining. Give them an A+. Very conscientious and pleasurable. Thank you to all!

Back Forty Texas BBQ has always had good food, but unfortunately, it has had it share of starts and stops due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They are closed as one of their employees tested positive. I think my family will avoid this restaurant until we know it has been safe for awhile.
