Super quick service! My appointment for an emissions test & registration was at 1pm and I was literally back home by 1:13 and I live a couple miles away. Theyre so friendly too! Cleaned my license plate & even put the sticker on :-) Way better than Jiffy Lube and other places like that - more personable and outgoing. Ill be back here! 😄

I met Jake on the golf course last year. He was super personable. I felt like he was a guy I could trust to take my vehicles to. I needed an emissions test and called up. They scheduled an appointment for a couple of days later. I arrived a few minutes early. They got me right in and told me it would only be 10-15 minute. As promised I was out of there in about 10 minutes. In fact, I got home exactly 10 minutes after my scheduled time. Great service and a very pleasant experience. Jakes is the place to go.

We towed in a car. They were great to run full diagnostics on it and fair with their pricing and suggestions moving forward.

Ive got a 3.6 Outback that takes something like 7 quarts of oil. I dont want to deal with 7 quarts of oil at a time so I was coming here for oil changes. Theyre always super friendly and quick, not really had any issues until this last go. They accidentally filled me up with conventional rather than synthetic, no biggie, Ill just swap back on the next one.What they didnt point out, despite their 31 point check is that my rear tires were past the tread wear marks! Bad enough that theyve likely been this way for at least a couple visits. Never once was it mentioned to me.Really disappointing that something easily looked at while the car is up was never mentioned. Especially when its crucial to the safety of the vehicle.

First of all, the ended up charging me less than their original quote (when does that ever happen??) AND they told me they replaced a brake light they noticed was out free of charge. I know brake lights are cheap, but little things like that are so rare and why I’ll keep going back to Jake’s Automotive!

Jakes Automotive is the one and only place that I will take my car to. My car has had the head gasket blow, and had leaks from the crankshaft seal, both of which were fixed in a timely manner and have had no issues since the fix. I have since moved to Riverton but still make the drive to Jakes when I can’t fix the car myself. These guys will give the news to you straight and will only fix and do what you want them to. Great staff.

I have been going to Jake’s for everything for years. Yesterday is another example of why. They had our car all day trying to diagnose a check engine light. They even said “we took everything apart” and they weren’t able to find an issue. After a full day of labor, they didn’t charge us anything and told us the code from the light was about something that didn’t have a problem. Contrast that with the dealership who looked at it for 20 minutes and told us it would be a $600 fix.

Ive been going here for a couple of years now. I always brace for bad news when the check engine light comes on or I start hearing weird noises from my car, but I always feel like Im getting a fair and honest assessment at Jakes and the bill usually ends up being much less than expected. I never feel like they push unnecessary repairs. Jake also sends a text a day or two later to follow up and make sure everything went okay. Ill be continuing to have my vehicles serviced here.

These guys are great. Took my van there with a brake light problem. They said they changed a fuse. No charge. Then I took it in because it was running rough. They put in a new fuel regulator. Now it runs great. Fair priced and they won’t rip you off. They called two days later to see how it was running, and to see if I was happy. These guys are awesome.

I love this place. VERY honest, I can not emphasize enough how honest they are and it is important to me. They will only tell you what needs to be done and the price is very reasonable. They already worked on 4 of my cars. Jake is a very nice and sweet guy and Troy is very professional and extremely knowledgeable. Why go anywhere else when you have the best.

The people at Jakes failed us three times. We had our car towed to them to get a fuel pump fixed. They did it wrong. The gas gage read full when the car was empty. We ran out of gas and had to have it towed again. They gave it back to us again, had the nerve to charge us $10 for gas and wait days again for the fix to once again give it back broken. When the problem was finally fixed well enough, but not perfectly they told us it had another issue that would also be expensive to fix. They were wrong. Lesson learned we went back to our usual mechanic even though hes farther away. We wont be going back to Jakes. I feel kind of bad about that. Jake himself seemed like he was good at reaching out and intended to make things right, but in the end we were really frustrated with the way things turned out.

Couldnt be happier with the service. They saved me over $1,000 for properly diagnosing the problem with my car that the dealership diagnosed wrong just to avoid having it covered under a warranty and wanted to charge me $1,400. Jakes found the defective part and replaced it for $120. Car runs better than when I bought it.

I came here for an oil change. They werent free to change it at the moment, but they came out and checked the oil to give me an idea of how long I can wait to set an appointment. They were very nice here and the oil change was fast.

If youre new to the area and looking for a trustworthy shop that will charge you a fair price, Jakes Automotive is the place. We had just moved to Utah, and we needed to find a shop to replace a stripped oil pan. Jakes was by far the best price (by about $200!), and the workmanship was wonderful. We have had no leakage or issues whatsoever on the oil pan. You can trust this shop for high quality work at a tremendous value. So thankful to have them right here in Pleasant Grove.

I went into Jakes again today (they are the ONLY place I go for auto repair). This was easy...just a Safety Inspection and Emissions Test. They took such great care of me, even with something so simple as this. Richard the mechanic was great, and Troy in the office is ALWAYS awesome. Quick in and out, and they are such nice people there.By the way, any place Ive gone to previously for Safety and Emissions (before I discovered Jakes) wanted to charge me something like $10.99 extra to have them process the registration online so I can get the license plate sticker from them. Ive always thought that was a rip-off (gee, I can go online and register the vehicle myself, and the State will send me the sticker). But I was late this time - my registration expired yesterday - so I needed Jakes to register it for me so I could get the sticker for the plate right away. You want to know how much they charged me for doing this? It wasnt $10.99...it was only TWO bucks! Only $2? Wow...awesome!Its another example of how Jakes is VERY interested in their customers and in taking great care of us. Im happy I have Jakes to take care of my three vehicles!Well done again, Jakes!

I have met with Jake. It is obvious that he does auto repair the right way. It can be hard to get a slot on his schedule because they are very busy. This is a reflection of Jakes philosophy, He got into car repair because he wanted to offer good work at honest prices. He had experienced working for other repair shops and he didnt want to follow the typical stereotype of the industry. He is honest and will do the job right for a reasonable price.

I was passing through Pleasant Grove when I started having car troubles. I was so lucky that Jakes was the closest mechanic shop. Even though I arrived slightly after close, Troy was more than happy to help me. I felt completely comfortable with the diagnosis of my car and the price. UPDATE:Since the original review, they are doing their best to resolve the situation. They have replaced another coil and charged only for the part. It appears that the car is still having issues, but, for now, they are working with me to resolve the issue. I was wrong to blame all these car problems on them without even telling them the car still had issues.I will update this review one more time when everything is done.OLD REVIEW:I took my car in to fix the check engine light. The diagnosis was ignition misfire. They claim that they replaced an ignition coil and all spark plugs and charged me over $500 to do it. After the service nothing changed. I went elsewhere to get it fixed. after a few months of working with other mechanics about other problems that were caused by this problem not being fixed, it appears none of those parts were actually replaced...

Jakes did emission testing on my van. Other places are closer to my home, but Jakes is worth the drive. They are friendly and I feel they are honest and wont rip me off if I need to have service done. Thanks, Jakes!

So Ive had to take it to Jakes three times now for different issues and theyve been great with us every time.

Jakes had always done a great job in looking, fixing and doing the proper job on my vehicles. One time there was just a minor issue that would take 5 minutes to do and just hooking something into a clip, someone else would have charged me $ 75, but they just did it and got me on my way without charge. They really care about their customers.

Took our Honda Civic in to replace some spark plugs and replace the air conditioner. They fixed it in a timely manner for a good price. However, right off the lot the car was making some weird noises and the heater didnt work (it has always worked) and on the third day of driving it, the engine light came on and then smoke filled the car. Ive owned the car for 5 years and never had any issues with the car. I let Jake know and he said he would look at it. I have to tow my vehicle (which is on the side of the road now) to have them take a look at it. So far Im pretty frustrated and not impressed. Will be taking the vehicle in next week. Ill update what happens next week!

My husband and I were looking at buying a car and had a few questions so we took it to Jake’s. We don’t live in the area so we were just taking a shot in the dark and it couldn’t have been more successful. They were so helpful and took time to really look at the car and tell us what they thought. They even drove around in the car with us to help identify a sound the car was making. Unfortunately we don’t live in the area because we would definitely go back to them when our cars need service.

My mother brought her 1998 Honda v6 in to have an oil leak fixed and an 02 sensor replaced. After 3 days she called to find out when she could have her car back, and Troy told my mother that the timing belt needed to be replaced. My mother, needing her vehicle to run, gave Troy permission to fix it. This was an $800 job. Here is where the problem lies. The timing belt was just changed 15000 miles ago when I bought the car for my mom. My mother felt bad about bothering me with any issues involving the vehicle because of how short of time from the purchase it was. She trusted a, “certified mechanic”, to fix her vehicle and not take her for a ride. It’s partly my fault for not paying more attention to my mother, but how can Troy sleep at night knowing he fabricated a make believe problem to bleed $800 dollars from an elderly woman on a fixed budget. Shame on you Troy and shame on Jake’s Automotive in PG. The 02 sensor was not replaced and it still leaks oil

A great automotive shop with personal service!! Jake is amazing, he resurrected a car that really was dead by all accounts and he did it in an economical way using creativity and genius! I highly recommend his shop.

I really love taking my car here. The reason Im giving it four stars is because they took a lot longer on my car than was originally told and didnt update me. Their service is unmatchable and the people are great to work with.

Wow! Is the only thing I can say. I wish I could give zero stars. I came in to have them look at my car, and just see what might be going on. They checked everything out and gave me a list of repairs and an estimate. And it seemed high, so I decided I would check another place too. So they charged me a little to check it out and to give it a little oil, I was cool with that. But upon investigation they were they charging nearly double what the part cost before labor. When I left they failed to tighten the wheel and tire back on to the car and I nearly lost it on the free way. When I got out and checked it I could loosen and tighten the lug nuts by hand. I would never return to Jakes automotive, nor would I recommend them.

Honest and fair. They go the extra mile to help me. Service turn around time is quick which is so great because being without a car is a pain! I trust them with all of my vehicles!
