After a Zoom consultation to discuss the details of my tax return, I was quoted $600 - without any rationale for cost - to file a non-itemized 1040, two state returns, and a schedule D/form 8949. My return is not complex - I do not own a business, have rental income, etc. This is twice the price of average CPA fees or the highest level of service from TurboTax.When I asked Alex/Carol to provide a breakdown of the price and what value they will provide to me over services half the cost, they did not respond.Furthermore, neither CPA informed me that the IRS allows Texans to file their returns through June 15 due to the 2021 winter storm, which I found out later on my own. Instead, they stated they would have to file an extension, and that it would take 2-3 weeks(!) to file my return.Despite being initially intimidated to self-file due to my 1099-Bs, I wound up filing myself via TurboTax Premiere in a couple of hours (rather than 2-3 weeks) for less than half the price I was quoted.Due to my experience I consider this firm to be of questionable value, unprofessional, and uninformed. Perhaps hiring this firm is a necessity for a business, but for individuals, save your money.

I contacted Michael Littlejohn to discuss a tax issue. He told me he charges $3,500 to do what he does. I asked him what he would be doing. His response:If you dont trust us, dont use us.I do not know anything about his company. I just wanted to know what he would be doing for the $3,500. He dismissed my question and blew me off for asking what he would be doing for me. Rude and unprofessional. I guess some people pay him $3500 without asking him what he will be doing, or asking any questions. Thats not me.I do not recommend this CPA Firm.

We submitted our tax information on March 28. Mr Tong mentioned there were 11 clients ahead if us and made no mention he couldnt make the file cutoff date. The last day to file without incurring added charges was extended to the18th. I spoke with Delores on the18th and she gave every indication they would beat the cut off date without filing an extension. She said an email would be sent to our address on file. We didnt receive any follow up email,phone call or any correspondence saying they/we missed the cutoff date. I had to then call them back to ask for an explanation, and have yet to receive one. I will update this post on Mr Tongs resolve with this matter................................................ As of 5.11.18 Mr Tong has addressed my concerns and I am pleased with his resolve. I was able to explain to him my concerns and preferred modes of communication as he was able to accommodate accordingly. Mr. Tong is professional, patient, and very knowledgeable of his profession. Our initial issue was a communication problem, not a tax issue FYI. We will gladly employ his services for the next tax year.

Interestingly, tried to sign up for a phone consultation as travel most of the time and they had zero interest in gaining my business. Interesting.

A few months later we received a letter from the IRS questioning our return. I made a call to their office and they said send me a copy of the letter and we will take care of it.
